Previously, on a Heya Love Story...

"Good deal." Ryan days before turning to Naya. "There is somewhere I want to take Santana's character..." Ryan says and Naya turns from where she was glancing at Jane and looks over at her boss. Heather also swivels her neck to look in his direction

"And by somewhere you mean..." Naya asked curiously and slightly reluctantly.

"Santana is going to be pregnant next season, "Ryan announced which made Heather and Naya pop their heads up in shock and everyone's jaws drop. That would be a huge deal for Santana and Brittany's characters and the fans would go crazy.

"Wait what?" Heather said. Sophia's eyes go wide when she hears this and runs out of the room frantically.

"What what?!" Heather says shockingly as both she and Naya look at the show creator with wide eyes and shocked expressions.

Sophia looks at Ryan and her eyes go just as wide as her mothers before she bolts out of the room as quickly as her feet will allow.

"Sophia!" Naya and Heather shout together as they sit up and sigh. They were both going to go after her but the friends suggest to give her a minute. Well, I guess that answers their question about how well she would take a new sibling. I mean this wasn't the same thing at all but if she reacted this way about a fake pregnancy and baby they can't imagine how it would be for a real one...

"Damn, well I guess that answers your question about how Soph will act sharing attention..." Becca blirts with a sigh to make her comment seem more sympathetic but everyone saw right through her bullshit. Hearher sends a subtle glare in her direction. "Kid is going to have to learn how to share..." Becca adds and the cast looks at her like she's crazy. She's the most generous, loving little girl in the world.

"Becca, please don't talk about my daughter like that," Naya spoke calmly just as Sophia runs out of the back bedroom where everyone had put all of their beach bags, purses, and other items. They all hear a kid's party blower, you know the kind that is curled up, and when you blow they unravel. Everyone sees Sophia with one that has tassels hanging down.

"Soph, where did you get that?" Ryan asks knowing he doesn't have any of those laying around the house.

"Kurtsy!" Sophia squealed as she bounced on her heels.

"Chris, why do you have those?" Diana asks curiously and Chris looks at her like she's the odd one.

"For reasons just like this... I'm always prepared..." Chris said stating the obvious as if this is something everyone would have for one of these...surprise your pregnant but not really announcements...

"I'm gonna be a big sister!" Sophia squeals and jumps around. The entire room looking is looking at the girl as if they just said they were taking her to Disneyland or something. Heather and Naya breathe a huge sigh of relief at how happy she is but then they look at each other somberly when they realize she thinks she's getting an actual baby.

Heather motions for her to come over but she's still bouncing around telling everyone happily.

"Soph!" Heather says loud enough to get her attention. Sophia whips her head around with a smile and Heather beckons her over with her finger. Sophia walks to her mother's and Heather grabs both of her hands from where she's sitting and Sophia stands between her knees. Naya leans against Heather wrapping both of her arms around her right one.

"Okay, my little love. I think you misunderstood what uncle Ryan was saying, beautiful." Heather says and suddenly the smile is gone from Sophia's gorgeous face and she looks perplexed. "Sweetheart, Ryan wants Santana to be pregnant when we play pretend. So mami would have a fake belly and then take it off at the end of the day so it wouldn't be a real baby. It's just for the show." Heather tried to explain hoping her four-year-old mind would comprehend the difference.

Sophia looks at Naya who is running her fingers down her daughter's arm comforting and back at Heather with a frown.

"So no baby brother or sister?" Sophia looks down defeatedly and wipes a tear. Heather and Naya feel like shit because she was really excited about this. "Momma, can I go sit in the sand since it's still light out?" Sophia asked sounding more adult than she's ever sounded, but more than that, completely heartbroken which killed her mothers.

Everyone looks around them and Ryan felt horrible for Sophia thinking it meant Naya was pregnant for real.

"Not by yourself baby..." Heather says softly and Sophia wipes a tear. At this point, Naya and Heather's hearts were completely shattered and torn to shreds. They had no idea how badly she wanted this but had to know if she would love the idea of it and not actually having another sibling around to share attention with? They had no idea, all they knew was that their hearts are broken right now.

"Tell you what baby, can we all go sit on the deck and we will let you sit in the sand by yourself? That's the only way because you can't be out there alone." Naya says softly and Sophia nods sadly and she's already walking towards the door.

Heather looks at Naya and they both want to sob uncontrollably at seeing their daughter in pain whether it was physical or emotional. Naya's stomach actually hurt and for the first time in four years, it's never felt so empty despite just having a full meal.

The friends, Matt, Jane, and Ryan all head out to the deck and take a seat. Sophia looks up at her moms and they motion for her that it's okay to walk in the sand on the private beach since they are close by. Sophia nods with a small smile and walks slowly and defeatedly through the tan fine sand. Every once in a while she would pick some up in the palm of her sand and watch it escape between her fingers.

She eventually sat down in the sand and brought her knees up to her chest and her chin down to her knees. Every once in a while Sophia would wipe a tear from her eye.

Meanwhile on the deck...

"Fuck..." Naya said leaning her head back and looking at the blue sky above her as she wipes a few of her tears. Everyone had eyes on that little girl. Heather brings her arm around her wife's back and hugs her close.

"Shit ladies, I'm so sorry she misunderstood!" Ryan said feeling terrible but the girls shook their heads.

"Ryan nothing about this is your fault. Hell, we didn't even know this was something she wanted but I guess it's a discussion we will have to have especially if our daughter feels so strongly about it." Naya says making Heather nod.

"I miss you being pregnant." Heather frowns starting to look like Sophia just then. Everyone looks at the blonde dancer knowingly.

"Of course you do Hemo, you couldn't keep your paws off her, well you never could, but especially then!" Chord says making Hearher blush as well as Naya.

Naya loved how much Heather loved and valued the pregnant version of her. Heather treasured and values her every second of their lives but when she was pregnant it was truly on another level. Naya's hands subconsciously fall to her stomach and the friends all smile at her.

"Sandbags soooo wants to be preggos right now!" Jane giggles and Naya can't help but shake her head with a little smile before realizing where her hands were and taking them off slowly. Heather grins wildly as the others laugh at how obvious they both are even if they aren't aware of it.

Heather leans over and tucks her face behind Naya's ear and whispers to her wife.

"I miss it too. I think it's safe to say that little girl over there would love it too." Heather spoke softly and looked over at their daughter who seemed to be crying a little harder. Naya and Heather instantly got up off the seats and walked calmly over to their baby girl. They didn't want to startle her so they announce their presence

"Hey little love," Heather says

"Hi, mi amor," Naya says right after Heather.

Sophia looks up and behind her and the moms see the tears streaming down her eyes and instantly go sit on either side of their little girl.

"Baby girl! Honey, talk to us about what you are feeling right now?" Heather urges as they cuddle her from both sides.

"I'm so sad momma. My heart feels like crying." Sophia says wiping tears. Both Heather and Naya are wiping tears as well because nothing is worse than seeing your child hurting.

"Why does your heart feel like crying baby girl?" Naya asked stroking her hair as Heather rubs her back.

"I want a baby brother or sister so bad. They're supposed to be in there and I got so happy in my heart." Sophia says pointing to Naya's stomach. Heather and Naya look at each other and close their eyes taking deep breaths before focusing on Sophia. "When I heard there was a baby my heart felt like rainbows and unicorns because I have been asking for it for so many sleeps..." Sophia explained wiping her eyes with her fists making her moms frown and hug her close.

"Mija, what do you mean you've been asking for it? I've never heard you mention anything about wanting a baby brother or sister," Naya says glancing at Heather who shakes her head.

"Me either little love..." Heather explains and Sophia looks forward at the ocean.

"I have wished for so long. Ask bunny! Every night I talk to my animal friends and tell them about how I will be the best sister and helper just like momma is. I promise. I'll teach them all my favorite things and protect them like momma protects mami and me. They would be my best friend." Sophia finishes. Heather has a tear sliding down her eye at her daughter's honesty and Naya is basically sobbing with the number of tears streaming down her face.

"Oh baby girl," Naya said hugging her daughter's side and looking up at Heather who nods. "Mija, can you look at mami?" Naya says softly and Sophia complies and looks up wiping her tears. "Mi amor, momma and I will talk about it tonight okay. It's a big decision so we can't just make it in one moment, but I promise that momma and I will talk about me having another baby." Naya says and Sophia giggles a little through her tears.

"Really?" Sophia says genuinely happy that it might actually happen and not just for playing pretend. Heather and Naya nod with smiles on their faces.

"Mami and I will have a really good talk tonight about everything okay?" Heather reassures and Sophia nods before leaning over and kissing Naya's belly.

"I know you are not in there yet, but maybe you are and you are a super tiny seed like in my gardens! Please don't just be for pretend and let me be your big sister for real!" Sophia says to the nonexistent baby in Naya's tummy and watches her pat Naya's belly sweetly. "Don't wait too long because I'm still learning paaconce (patience)," Sophia added. Heather and Naya look at each other and their hearts are nearly exploding just imagining their sweet Sophia during this process.

"Sweetheart, come here for a second," Heather smiles and Sophia stands up in front of her momma. "Sophia you have just shown how grown-up you are becoming. Instead of throwing a tantrum you quietly asked for time to sort out your feelings in a place you felt comfortable and then talked to both of us so we now know what's going on. That was really grown-up and brave of you. This is something mami and I have been talking about for some time because we want to give you a sibling that you can love unconditionally and grow up with and play with. We know you will be the best big sister in the world and I think you just proved that to us." Heather says and Sophia teared up again as did Naya and Heather bringing both of her girls into a hug as their friends look on.

"My heart is so happy momma and mami!" Sophia says wiping her tears, "But can you tell my baby brother or sister to hurry up because I just want to snuggle them now." Sophia said adorably and both moms wanted to melt right there into the sand. God, this child was precious.

"Oh well let's hope they don't take after mami being late right baby girl," Heather said winking at her wife who playfully glares at her blue-eyed girls. Both giggle and she doesn't have the strength to glare at them anymore because the two of them find their way into her heart every single time.

"Hey!" Naya says and they both laugh as she pouts. Sophia giggles.

"Sorry mami, Sorry baby brother or sister. You are not late, everybody else is just super early."

Heather and Naya go on to explain to their daughter to not tell anybody and that it's their super special secret for now and Sophia agrees happily. They don't need the pressure or expectations of their friends because egg fusion and beginning that process doesn't always take on the first try or even the second, it can be hit or miss so they would rather work through that process with less outside pressure whether it's on purpose or not. That's just added stress for them to an already highly stressful process. Then comes the decision on when to start this process again. So many things to talk about tonight. Secretly, neither of the girls can wait though.

Alright, are all three of you okay?" Ryan asks as Heather, Naya, and Sophia take their seats back on the deck by everyone else. It was still blue sky and they were just starting to see the first signs of the sunset becoming evident. All three of them nod.

"I'm okay, sorry RyRy, I just had some big important (important) feelings but momma and mami talked to me and gave me kisses so my heart is happy again," Sophia said and Naya and Heather snuggled her on either side as she sat in between them. Naya motioned for Harry to pass over the quilt that was laying right beside him and she smiled and mouthed a thank you as he handed it over.

"Sophia, you are the cutest human being ever..." Matt says with a smile and Sophia looks at him and smiles

"I know Matty" Sophia replies and everyone laughs as Heather and Naya adjust the blanket over their daughter who smiles up at them. "Thank you mami, thank you, momma," Sophia says before looking at Ryan. "Okay RyRy you can talk about pretend stuff again, but after your all done I want to tell everyone about a magical worm I found, okay?" Sophia said hidden between the two taller people on either side of her. Sophia was so tiny that she looked cute burrowed between her mother's. Ryan and everyone let out giggles and nods.

"I'm excited to hear about this magical worm!" Ryan replies and everybody nods.

Ryan continues to talk about the plans for the outline of season ten, just so everyone has an idea of the overall direction they are taking it. Of course, they don't get scripts ahead of time but these characters mean a lot to the actors and actresses who play them so it's important to Ryan that they are involved in the show because without them the show wouldn't exist.

"One thing I wanted to ask you if you guys had any suggestions at all whether big or small that you would like me to make note of and I can present to the writers to see what and if we can come up with a storyline to work in some of your thoughts," Ryan says and everyone starts looking around trying to think of everything they would love to see happen. It's not too often a show create will come to the cast and accept suggestions to play around with but the cast always appreciated being heard. "Lay em' on me, guys. Any suggestions are valid. We're just playing around for ideas." Ryan urged and everyone seemed shy to speak up, except one person... the smallest one in the bunch

Sophia raised her hand as high as she could maybe thinking since she was tucked so far in between her mommies that she wouldn't be seen. Heather and Naya smile at their daughter because they never taught her how to do that since she wasn't in school or anything yet. Naya still subconsciously had laid a hand over her belly, it was very discreet and between her belly and lap but Heather knew exactly what she was doing.

"Yes, Soph? You got an idea for me?" Ryan asked getting his pen and paper ready. Everyone looks on with amused faces.

"Yep! I think Uncle Kurtsy should make all the super pretty outfits for the dancers at school!" Sophia says and Ryan raises his eyebrows and writes it down. That was a really good way of involving Chris in this production Creative company, all the costumes for the school's dance competitions or nationals performances would be designed by him.

"Brilliant Soph! I think you may have just landed our first successful suggestion! Good job kiddo." Ryan says and Chris looks over and winks and she tries to wink back. She's still learning. He squeezes one eye closed but keeps it closed for like five seconds before opening it again. It's hilarious.

"Quinn can handle the law, contracts aspect since that's what she wanted to go to school for..." Diana suggested with a shrug and Ryan connects the black pen to his paper once again.

"Keep 'em coming you guys," Ryan says and he sees Sophia squeezing her eyes tightly and her two index fingers are pointing straight against her temples. Ryan points to the little girl as everyone looks over and giggles at what she's doing. Heather and Naya look down and raise an eyebrow and quietly chuckle at their daughter's antics.

"Soph, baby what are you doing, mi amor." Naya giggles

"My brains are smaller but I'm trying to think of super big ideas," Sophia says with a strained voice like she's exuding a lot of internal effort. Everyone laughs as she continues her antics and both of her moms shake their heads and see Ryan having what seems to be a light bulb moment tapping his pen to the paper.

"What did you think of just now?" Cory asked looking over curiously

"That she's coming on this season..." Ryan smirked playfully and the two moms in the room can't help but smile and look down at their daughter who they are hoping didn't hear Ryan's comment.

"I heard you RyRy! Write that down!" Sophia scolded with her eyes still shut and Ryan shakes his head and smiled.

"I would like to adopt that child." Melissa laughed

"Get in line," Vanessa replied taking a drink.

Sophia raises her hand out of the blue again and Ryan plays along and calls on her in a professional manner.

"Sophia go ahead," Ryan says and Sophia smiles

"Can my mommies sing together and maybe me too?" Sophia asked and Ryan wrote it down. Sophia wiggled and was so excited he was listening to her like he was the rest of them.

"Another good one Soph! Keep it coming you guys..." Ryan let out.

"I think it would be fun for Kitty to have more scenes with Santana. Both are strong tell it like it is girls on the show, so I think that dynamic would be fun with the two of them." Becca adds and Ryan nods writing it down as a suggestion.

Heather looked pissed, to say the least, and gritted her teeth together, everyone seemed to notice but Becca and Ryan. This bitch was sure a smooth talker.

"Maybe they should break up some couples and mix it up too..." Becca added and Ryan looked on curiously but didn't write anything down.

"Anyone specific?" Ryan questioned.

"I don't know, it might be fun to see Sam and Mercedes together, or Sam and Quinn. Maybe Brittany and Santana could break up." Becca threw in at the end like nothing and shrugged her shoulders.

"What?!" Heather said angrily and Naya put a hand on her thigh before leaning forward and looking over since Becca was a few seats down from them on the same couch.

"How would that make any sense, Ryan just said he wants Santana pregnant, plus they are married," Naya says extremely confused and Becca looks over ready to challenge her.

"Married couples break up all the time," Becca said matter of factly and unemotionally. Sophia narrows her eyes and looks over.

"Why are you so mean and naughty? You should be nice so everyone's hearts can be happy." Sophia said and everyone looked at her because she basically confronted the girl for her mom's but in a much more nicer and innocent way than either of them would have been able to do. Becca looked almost annoyed as if Sophia messed up her plan or something.

"Just giving suggestions Sophia." Becca smiled. Even though she was only four, kids were innately very good judges of character because they saw people and things for what they are.

Sophia scowled and shook her head before looking at Ryan.

"Don't write that down!" Sophia demanded and the man put his arms up and smiled at the little authoritative girl but she was strong enough to boss this full-grown man around. Heather and Naya were internally screaming and clapping as was everyone else. They loved Sophia so damn much.

It was just after 9:00 pm and they had been home for a couple of hours. Sophia had fallen asleep on the drive home and they let her go straight to bed since they already rinsed her off at Ryan's and she was already in comfy clothes.

The girls had decided to have a glass of wine with a slice of pie that Chris had brought them a couple of days ago that Connie had made in her bakery. Heather told Naya she was going to change quickly and go to the bathroom while Naya cleaned the two plates in the sink.

Heather ran up the stairs and started the bath, setting it to their preferred temperature and taking some candles from under the sink, and setting them on the side of the tub and countertop. She grabbed a lighter and lit the candles while dimming the lights and adding a sprinkle of lavender oil to their bath. She went back downstairs and Naya was finishing up the dishes just as Heather came up behind her and kissed the back of her neck making her hum.

"You are done for the night, my love, let's grab our wine and go upstairs," Heather said seductively and Naya smirked shyly and nodded.

Heather grabbed her wine glass after filling them both up and handed Naya hers before taking her hand and placing a kiss on her knuckles.

"Will you take a bath with me, my love?" Heather asked her wife as she stroked the knuckles of her right hand. She could tell Naya was nervous because of the conversation that was coming. Heather knew this but she also knew the bath was Naya's most calming place so they always had a lot of their big talks while they were in the bath surrounded by a calm ambiance and the smell of lavender.

"That's a question I will never say no to," Naya replied while wrapping her free arm around Heather's neck and connecting their lips allowing her body to melt into the taller woman in front of Her.

A couple of minutes later after checking to make sure Sophia was out for the night, both of them had removed their clothes and Heather slipped in first, playfully patting the water between her long legs. Naya placed her wine glass on the edge of the tub next to Heather's glass before slowly stepping in and lowering herself between her wife's legs. Heather's arms wrapped around Naya and her hands rested flat below Naya's belly button.

Heather sat silently giving her wife the time she needed to process. Heather was much more open and carefree with her feelings than Naya was. Naya ess very reserved, guarded, and hesitant which was the opposite of Heather who was bubbly, talkative, and open with her feelings. The two were very similar to their characters in so many aspects, especially that one. Heather ran her hands up and down Naya's caramel skin silently telling her wife that she was ready to talk when Naya was, and Naya loved that she never pushed her to talk before she was ready, even when they both knew how exciting and life-changing this conversation was.

"I'm ready." Naya blurts out. Heather initially paused her movements but started up a few seconds later almost as if she had to let those words truly sink in.

"Are you sure, my love?" Heather asked as she kissed her wife's neck and held her hands out and Naya linked her hands with both of Heathers. The presence and touch of her wife always calming and give Naya the peace and security she needs to keep sharing her feelings.

"Yes, I'm ready, baby. I've known for a while, Heather, but I think today, seeing how much our baby girl wants this was much we do, really pushed me to finally be able to say this out loud." Naya confessed. Heather held her right tracing her finger over the light scar on her stomach. Naya overlapped her hand knowing what she was thinking without words. That scar could have changed everything for them.

"I read a few articles and it talked about this being a really good age gap between siblings because they can understand a little better and feel helpful in caring for the baby which will also make the transition easier on them, but something tells me Sophia won't have too many problems with this. She seemed so thrilled." Heather said with a smile. Naya sighed constantly and leaned back against her wife.

"Well, it might work out with work because I'll be pregnant on the show too so if the timeline works out maybe I won't have to hide a big belly behind random objects." Naya giggled and heather breathed out looking at her wife and kneading her breasts softly before her hands go straight down and cover her flat stomach.

"I miss feeling my child here. There was nothing more beautiful in this world than seeing our child grow inside you, Naya." Heather said placing her lips in the crook of her wife's neck just soaking in this life-changing decision they're making.

"You are the best wife in the world. Hands down. You were beyond anything I could have ever wished or asked for while I was pregnant. Through every hard time and every amazing time you were right there for me and with me. I would carry anyone's children but yours." Naya spoke and she turned to look at her wife. Heather had a lonely test rolling down her cheek and Naya kissed it away.

"Honey," Heather whispered and Naya could hear the happy cracks in her voice as she looked directly into Naya's dark chocolate eyes. "I love you so much, Naya."

"I know you do. I love you too." Naya sighed into her delicate touches.

"Are you scared?" Heather asked as she tucked a piece of black hair behind Naya's ear.

"Terrified, baby," Naya admitted. "Not necessarily in a bad way, though, I don't know how to explain it. The thought of having our second baby growing inside of me, having another child to love that we created, a brother or sister for Sophia, is the most exciting thing I can think of, but it's also extremely scary, the undertaking, the waiting, the anticipation, the changes..." Naya mumbled

"We will do everything together. We will decide how to tell Soph, whether we take her through the process with us or don't tell her until you get that positive test, or we wait until after the first trimester, whatever we decide we will do it as a family." Heather assured and Naga sighed feeling completely protected and loved.

"I love you so much," Naya said softly as Heather ran her hands over Naya's belly, visualizing a much rounder version of what her stomach was like now.

Naya rested her hands over Heather's where they were resting on her stomach. Both women were so truly content to simply lie in silence together. It felt like an enormous weight was lifted off of both of them and it must have felt the same for Sophia finally letting her parents know how she was feeling.

They sat in continued silence with their closed and didn't move for a while. They could talk over the logistics later, like when to make an appointment later, but they were going to do this. They finally spoke it out loud making it official and out in the open, the fact that we'd spoken the words made it official.

Naya couldn't imagine a happier moment, she was so content and safe in Heather's arms.

The future was looking bright.
