I groaned slightly as I awoke, turning over to find that Stu was still laying next to me and, from the looks of it, didn't appear to have been up for very long.

Good, he needs the sleep.

"Mmm.." I smirked a little at my newest realization. "Don't tell me…..I stole the covers from you again, didn't I?"

"Shockingly not." He chuckled. "Nahh, it just got a little warm in here, I took em off."

"Sorry." I yawned. "You should've told me, you want me to turn the heat on….." I shook my head, realizing as soon as I said it. "Air conditioning, I meant air conditioning." I chuckled. "Sorry, I'm tired. I didn't get enough sleep last night."

"Oh, you're tired." He teased.

"Regrettably." I chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. I know you're more tired, it's my fault. Don't hate me."

"You're forgiven." He laughed. "..provided you bring us food."

"Well, that I can do." I chuckled. "...Are you gonna actually let me go and bring it to you this time?"

"...Maybe."

I rolled my eyes. "Kinda defeats the purpose if you don't, but alright. Now, where'd we land on the air conditioning?"

"I think we're okay." He chuckled. "I could do with a fan though, if you have one."

I nodded. "I think we have a little desk one in the hall closet, will that do?"

"Perfect….do you mind feeding Freddy again too, while you're up?"

As soon as he said that, I looked down to notice the little fur ball was now down by my feet, rubbing himself against me as if he'd picked up the routine by now.

I shook my head a little, deciding to lean down and humor him with a little head scratch. "I don't think I have much of an option here, but sure." I teased. "You got it."

"Thanks, babe." He giggled, obviously amused at the gesture. "...and make sure you switch it up from whatever you gave him last time, he gets picky if you try to give him the same thing twice in a row."

"Why? Is he pregnant too?" I teased.

"Very funny."

"I thought it was. Anyway, I'll make a note of it." I snickered. "...be right back."

—-

"Found it." I announced, referring to the small desk fan I had set down on the tray to bring in with the food. "It's not much, but it works."

"It looks fine." He reassured me, glancing around the general vicinity. "If you could just set it up over on that end table, by my side of the bed, that'd be great."

"Not a problem." I agreed, kissing his forehead as I walked by.

His face seemed to light up at that. "You're the best."

"I try"

"Well, you succeed."

I started to let my mind wander again, as I laid back down on the bed across from him, watching as he dug in. I really need to stop doing that.

"...something the matter, babe?" He finally asked.

"I don't know…" I shrugged. "...you're sure you're not tired of this yet?"

"Of what?" He asked, seemingly genuinely confused. "Waking up next to you? Letting you wait on me hand and foot?" He teased. "Oh yeah, it's just terrible."

I rolled my eyes. "I think you know what I meant, babe."

He sighed, more amused...albeit perhaps also slightly annoyed, than actually irritated. "Jesus, Billy. You can't still be on this."

"I'm just saying, I'm starting to feel a little like Annie Wilkes here, is all." I chuckled.

"Why, are you gonna flip your shit on me? Hmm?" He teased. "Have I disrupted any penguins that should be facing due South?"

I shook my head. "You just think you're so funny, don't you?"

"Hey, look who's talking, Mr Nameless Wonder!" He mocked.

"We've been over this, I stand by the name until something better presents itself." I laughed.

"Nickname." He corrected.

"Whatever…" I sighed, half seriously. "Anyway, quit deflecting from my point, would you?"

"Well, what do you want from me, Billy?" He sighed. "Even if I did have a problem with it, what are we going to do? Move out tomorrow?" He chuckled a little at the thought. "I know you mean well, but we do still have a couple or some odd months."

"I guess I just want it on the record that I know this isn't exactly an ideal situation." I sighed. "...especially for you two."

"It's on the record then." He laughed, letting Freddy steal a bite of his eggs. "It's a broken record, but it's on the record."

"Good." I chuckled, reaching over to give Freddy another head scratch. "...and what gives? Didn't I just feed you? Even gave you something different."

Stu just shrugged, obviously amused. "Maybe he's just bored with it."

"Ohh, he's bored with it?" I repeated with a little smirk. "Well, excuuuse me, your Majesty. Shall I wait on you hand and foot too?"

"I think that's Your Royal Majesty to you, Mister." He teased.

I grabbed for a nearby pillow and shoved it at Stu.

"Uh uh!" He was clearly trying….and failing, to not laugh, as he shielded himself. "That's my weapon!"

"Says who, it's my pillow!" I teased back.

"Not when you're being mean, It's not!" He giggled, grabbing it back from me.

"I was kidding! Get over it!" I grabbed another pillow to shield myself from his next blow.

"Never!"

While he searched for another to hit me with, I decided to swipe a piece of food off his plate to distract him.

"Hey, get your own!"

"Come on, you let Freddy do it." I pointed out. "And anyway, it distracted you didn't it?"

"Mmnnn" He fake whined, swatting at my hand before I could sneak another piece. "...for now."

"Good enough." I smirked. "Goood enough."
