Ian lays in bed thinking when he senses a presence in the city he swiftly sits up as a lightning bolt strikes awakening Crystia and Xenovia.

Crystia: Ian, dear go back to bed the children aren't crying yet.

Ian: Excalibur...?

Xenovia: What?

Ian: I'll be back.

He jumps out of the bed grabbing Truth and Dare before teleporting away, he suddenly appears in front of Freed standing over Kiba about to go for the killing blow he blocks the blade from hitting Kiba.

Kiba: I'm not done yet!

He then kicks Freed to the floor.

Freed: That's cheating!

Kiba: That's what devils do!

Before he can kill Freed another blade blocks his and he's kicked back and a girl stands next Freed holding a blade of her own.

Freed: Good job, Charlotte.

Charlotte: Anything for my father.

Ian: Father?

Charlotte: Charlotte, you are?

Ian: Ian Star, student of Freed and Lint Selzen and wielder of the Blade Master Sacred Gear. One could say... you superior.

Freed: If it isn't my boy. How's your search.

Ian: Doing Good. Just found her actually. How's you sanity?

Just then a symbol appears by his ears. Kiba goes to attack he jumps over while Charlotte and Ian lock blades.

Freed: I hate to cut things short but someone more important is calling it's been fun! That's all folks!

He throws a flash bang as Charlotte disengages from the lock with Ian they vanish leaving Ian and Kiba alone. Ian then looks at Kiba who begins to walk away.

Ian: You know, you don't have to do this alone.

Kiba: I want to.

Ian: Kiba.

Kiba Yeah?

Ian: Give them hell. I've got your back.

Kiba: I know and as long as my goal is achieved I won't die.

Ian: Fucking better not.

Ian teleports back to his house to find its five thirty and everyone else is already training except for Ember who's asleep as well as Xenovia who's watching everyone train.

Xenovia: You really make them do our old routine?

Ian: Yeah. It ensures they never get rusty I even trained two devils in this way.

Xenovia: You sure are kind to everyone.

Ian: Hm. Honestly I wonder where that come from.

Xenovia: Ian...

Ian: Hmm?

Xenovia: I want to say, I'm sorry.

Ian: It's fine.

Xenovia: No Crystia and Lily told me.

Ian: Told you what exactly?

Xenovia: That after I left it drove Freed mad, it drove you away from the orphanage to rebel against the adults there who stopped looking for me. And nearly costed you a chance with any other girl.

Ian: Oh, they told you about that.

Xenovia: I have to say you've got quite a lot of girls fighting over you.

Ian: Its only two girls, but still, it looks far easier on tv.

Xenovia: Yes, But they also told me about how even though you had them both you never stopped looking for me. You even fought the Phoenix Family just for extra resources to find me.

Ian: Well I assume it was obvious.

Xenovia: What was?

Ian: Back when we were in the orphanage I had a crush on you. Hell even Crystia picked up it even though she loved me to bits.

Xenovia: Oh, believe me, Crystia would not shut up about it whenever her and I were alone. Most of the girls there liked you and were jealous me for drawing your attention the most other than Lily.

Ian: Yeah well, the guys back then couldn't stand me. The guy that always had girls trying to be with him but never interested in any of them unless it was you or Sis.

Xenovia: Yes, well as fun as it's been I must meet up with Irina. I would like to see you again when we get to meet Mrs. Gremory.

Ian: Sure thing see ya.

As they say good bye to each other he gives her a hug which she returns lightly. She walks away and he looks back to Crystia and Mittelt who look at him with jealousy.

Ian: What?

Time Skip

Ian and the others walk to the school with Sona and Tsubaki when they stop seeing Xenovia and Irina.

Tsubaki: Sona look.

Sona: The holy sword.

Ian: Hello Nova.

Sona: Nova?

Ian: The one with blue hair. She's the girl I asked about on my first day here.

Sona: I see.

After classes Ian's group enter the ORC with Issei as Asia marvels over how clean the place is now.

Asia: Wow look how shiny the floor is.

Ian: Issei if you try anything perverted using the floor I will cut you with Excalibur.

Asia looks behind Issei noticing a room in the back that's taped off.

Asia: What's that?

Issei: Huh? What's what?

Asia: That room in the back.

Issei: Oh that that's called the forbidden room it's never been opened.

Rias: They did a good job cleaning this place they feels like we're getting a fresh start.

Issei: So where's Kiba?

Koneko: Looks like somebody decided to take the entire day off must be nice.

Asia: I hope he's okay.

Ian: Cut him some slack he ran into an issue last night.

Rias: Hmm? Do tell.

Ian: Freed. And he has partner now apparently he has a daughter... disciple... something of the sorts, by the name of Charlotte. The duo were working together, Kiba got a couple of wounds but left before I could do anything about it.

Issei: So do you think this has anything to do with what we talked about yesterday.

Ian: What did you talk about yesterday?

Rias just sighs.

Issei: Whoa no freaking way. So what the hell does Kiba have to do with the holy swords?

Ian: Oh.

Rias: Do you remember me telling you before about how we was a survivor of the Holy Sword Project?

Issei: For sure.

Rias: What I didn't tell you was-

Ian: That there were several other children involved. They were all being raised to use an Excalibur.

Most of Ian's peerage gasp at this as well as Issei but Ian walks to a nearby window

Ian: As of right now there are seven known holy swords by the name Excalibur fifteen if you count the ones I can summon using my Gear.

Rias: Long ago pieces of the original Excalibur were scattered during a war.

Issei: What Seven?

Rias: That's right. It was the church that tracked down and collected all of the pieces they then used alchemy to create seven entirely new swords and from what big brother told me Ian's grandfather-

Eli: AJ Star gained the Master Blade Gear for the first time and learned all the tricks about it including its clone ability. The ability to clone a sword and give it an entirely new name as well as store it in its owners personal pocket dimension where the sword that's put in there can gain sentience like Adam and I did. The stronger a sword that stays in there longer the higher chance of the sword gaining sentience.

Issei: So does that mean Kiba is able use all of them?

Rias: Actually no it does not. He never adapted to Excalibur's strength in fact none of those who were trained ever could.

Eli: The entire project failed.

Asia: Completely?

Adam: Yes. So those in charge of the project decided to dispose of Kiba and the other test subjects.

Issei: Dispose? Like kill?

Ian: They were already on the verge of death.

Kiba is laying on the ground in the snow as Ian's voice is speaking of the events.

Ian: However one child was able to escape his motivation to extend his life was a promise to himself that he would some day get revenge.

Rias appears in front of Kiba

Rias: I felt that such a passion could be used in a meaningful way. And wanted to help. There was but a single solution.

Issei: So that's the reason you made Kiba a devil. And why he was weird when he looked at that picture.

Rias: Well just have to wait and see what happens next.

Suddenly the door opens and Akeno enters the room.

Akeno: Fantastic looks like everyone's here.

Rias: Akeno why are you so late?

Akeno: I brought some guests and was helping them get here.

Just then Sona and Tsubaki enter the room.

Sona: Thank you for having us.

Issei: Student body President and vice-president? Why?

Ian: Lady Sona.

Akeno: They said they had something urgent to discuss with you.

Sona: Right. Rias, would you mind my coming to my house right away please. This isn't something you're gonna want to discuss in front of a lot of people. Trust me.

Rias: You make it sound like a complicated situation.

Sona: It is. Very complicated.

Ian: Oh it probably not good.

Sona: I'd invite you too, seeing as you're one of the group leaders however...

Ian: No, no, I understand, this is something you'll discuss without me, then I'll probably be informed as it's happening.

Rias: Why do you make it sound like a tv trope?

Ian: Cause it is.

After the meeting, most of the group are walking to Issei's house except for Sona, Rias, Tsubaki and Akeno oh and Kiba's still missing

Issei: What in the world happened? Was it just me or did you think Sona was acting weird too?

Ian: It is true she was acting different.

Asia: Yeah maybe.

Issei: What do you think about it Koneko.

Koneko: Don't Know. It's not like there's anything wrong with Rias talking to someone. However... I guess I'm more worried right now about what's going on with Kiba.

Issei: Yeah actually I am too. I know what Rias told us but still I feel like maybe I should try and help out somehow you know what I mean.

Ian: I hear ya loud and clear.

Issei: Not because I feel obligated but because we're friends

Koneko: Yeah. We'll see you all tomorrow.

Ian: See you at midnight.

Issei: See ya Koneko.

Asia: Bye see you tomorrow.

Issei: Koneko and Akeno chose this as well.

Asia: What?

Issei: Oh I was just wondering why they decided to become devils too.

Ian: There are thing you best wait on Issei.

Issei: Surely they had reasons like the rest of us.

A few minutes later the group arrive at Issei's house as they as Ian stops them amidst the growing sense of holy energy radiating from the building.

Issei: What the?

Ian: So this is where they went.

Issei rushes in the house and when he does the others hear his mother say 'that's my boy!" rather loudly as the group walk when they look to see what's going on.

Issei: What's happening?

The group all walk in as Ian see's Xenovia and smiles at her.

Ian: Hey Nova. Hehehe

He chuckles as Xenovia lightly smiles at her friend.

Issei: So these guys are the reason we got chills?

Irina: It's been a while hasn't it, Issei?

Issei: Huh?

Irina: How could you forget this face. It's me!

Issei: Uh, right...

I/M: Irina Shido don't you remember this photo.

She then holds up the photo that pissed of Kiba in the first place while Ian sits on a chair and crosses his legs watching Issei deal with the mess.

Issei: Woah, that's her how the hell?!

I/M: I know! She looks different I mean you could mistake her for a boy if you didn't know any better and look at her now positively gorgeous.

Ian: Well Issei, Your moms not wrong she is actually quite stunning and atwactive and why the whell is mwy vwoice like this...

He looks over and see's Xenovia pinching his cheek while Crystia glares at him.

Irina: Thank you Mr. Star for the compliment.

Ian: No problem. Even though I'm never gonna hear the end of it later.

Issei: What this is so freaking weird... I always though she was a boy!

Ian: Issei, you idiot.

I/M: That's not very nice! Now apologize!

Issei: Huh, for what?!

Irina: Oh, he can't help it I really did act like a boy back then.

Ian: Sounds like two people I know from childhood not saying any names thou- agh!

He jumps out of his seat while avoiding Crystia and Xenovia jumping at him.

Issei: Yeah that made it pretty confusing.

Irina: It's okay but we should catch up a lot has happened to both of us in the time we've been apart.

Issei looks towards Ian seeing Xenovia and Ian smiling at each other while Crystia tries to get in between the two.

Irina: Also I love reunions you never know what's going to happen. Just look at Ian and Xenovia here.

A bit later Irina & Xenovia had left and Ian was now laying on Issei's bed with an ice pack while Crystia was standing at the door smugly. Rias looks at Issei sorrowfully before hugging him.

Rias: I'm so glad your home safe. I'm so sorry I should've paid more attention to you. I was terrified of what I might find when I came back here today. I'm thankful I worried for nothing. I promise to keep a better eye on each of your whereabouts.

Ian: My team doesn't exactly need a stalker. I sure as hell don't need another one.

Crystia: You have a stalker where I'll kill em.

Ian: Look in a mirror Crystia, you'll find them there.

Crystia: Hey!

Issei: Uh, Rias?

Rias: What is it.

Issei: Your breast.

Rias: Of course I understand. Oh, Issei do you have any idea how much I spoil you.

Ian: Uh, maybe not right now?

Issei: Uh, yeah I can't do that.

Exposition

Rias: Why were they in there talking to your mother?

Issei: No clue. Maybe Irina actually wanted to catch up and show me she's a chick now they never said why they were there. But it didn't matter all they cared about when they left was that I was a devil but the blue haired girl was buddy buddy with Ian and Crystia.

Rias: Come again?

Ian: Issei, that girl was Xenovia. Do you remember when we fought Riser. You, Aiden and I were given rewards for winning and all I wanted was resources to find someone?

Issei: Yeah?

Ian: She's the person I've spent nearly eight years looking for.

Rias: That's fine. I honestly don't know what they're planning, but perhaps we can ask them tomorrow.

Issei: Tomorrow?

Rias: That's what I've been told. They'll be visiting the club room tomorrow after school.

Ian: Great...

Ian and his group return home and when they arrive he opens the front door to Xenovia and Irina on the couch in his living room.

Ian: Yo.

Xenovia: So you truly have linked up with Devils.

Ian: I aligned with to find you. To be precise.

Irina: What do you mean by that?

Ian: I assume you never told your partner about me.

Xenovia: My past never came up as a subject, so I never felt the need to.

Irina: That's not true! I constantly asked about your childhood but you would always get a saddened look and I dropped it!

Ian: Nova... what exactly happened the day you left?

Xenovia: Well I guess we should start from the beginning then.

Crystia: Oh god, the description of the first book was right it is a love story!
