...Confessions of a Couple in Hiding...
I roll over and find Alicia and Angelina in my bed. "Argh, would you two go sleep on your own bed!" I laugh. They groan and roll over trying to get away. I sit up and look at my clock and groan. It's 5 in the morning. I crawl out of bed and get ready for my early morning run. By the time I'm dressed Alicia and Angelina are up and ready to go. We sneak past Goro's room and quickly head down to the kitchen.
When we return my brothers are all sitting on the steps. I wince and pretend like I don't see them as we stretch. "Inside. Now!" Kouki snaps. I frown and fold my arms as I continue stretching. The sight of them on the stairs makes me smile though. All six of them are over six feet tall and right now look like they could twist a car into a pretzel like it's nothing. I walk in after I finish stretching and hurry to shower.
I emerge in shorts and one of Oliver's sweatshirts. I'm just tying up my hair when Rhys runs in. I scoop him up and kiss his cheek. "How is my adorable nephew this morning?! Are you hungry?" I ask tickling him. Kouki stands in the doorway. "Don't spoil him Emi." he chuckles. Rhys smiles sleepily at his father. "Where's your mum?" I ask. Rhys motions sleeping and Kouki goes up to their room shaking his head.
I run my fingers through Rhys' mahogany hair as his indigo blue eyes dart around. "Hihi!" he pouts. I smile and nod. We leave my room and walk down to the kitchen. "Hina, Rhys wants his other auntie!" I call as we enter. Rhys takes off running when he sees her. Mum tuts and waves her spatula. "I heard you girls were already giving the boys a hard time this morning?" she sighs. "Hina and I were just sending letters to our boyfriends and they threw a huge fit." Aiya pouts as she walks in with Alicia and Angelina.
"We were just exercising and they were upset." I mumble. "I would love it if your boyfriends would visit." mum pouts making Rhys pout too. "You know they won't. Goro already threatened to snap Emi's boyfriend's neck." Aiya shakes her head and pours everyone some fresh apple juice. I shiver and sigh. "He'll probably introduce himself after I graduate." I suck my teeth.
Mum turns to me with a shocked smile. "What?" I wonder. She nods behind me. My brothers are standing there smirking and trying not to look too pleased. "Don't scare her boyfriend. He's a nice guy." dad smacks the back of their heads as he enters and Rhys runs over abandoning Hina. "Come on Emiko! Give us a little hint." Akio pouts. "He's older than me and his family absolutely adores me." I stick my tongue out.
"You met his family?!" they gasp. I nod and help mum plate breakfast as Eloise, Fay, and Brielle walk in. The last to enter are Cassia Tonks and Amaya Ito. Cassia has brown hair and brown eyes but she's a Metamorphmagus and has opted for navy blue eyes and hot pink waist length hair. Amaya has ebony hair and brown eyes and makes her way straight into Isamu's arms as soon as she sees him.
I help mum take the plates to the table. We enjoy a banter filled breakfast before we have to go to Diagon Alley to buy school supplies. I'm perusing books when Oliver wraps his arms around me and kisses my cheek. "You'll get killed if you do that!" I hiss pushing him into a darker section of the store. "Why?" he pouts. "All of my brothers are here." I sigh as he rubs my arms.
He nods his understanding and leads me out of the shop and to his room in the Leaky Cauldron. We both breathe a sigh of relief when he closes his door. I jump into his arms and smile. He carries me over to his bed and we lie there cuddling for a while. I kiss his cheek and he smiles. "I missed you so much darling." he whispers.
"I missed you too my Quidditch obsessed baby lion." I murmur. He lifts my chin and kisses me softly. I hum as he rolls on top of me and deepens the kiss. He runs a hand up and down my leg. I moan and he smirks. "Ah, you shouldn't do that." he groans. There's a knock on the door and we jump. "Oliver! Are you in there?" Goro shouts. "Fuck!" Oliver hisses getting up.
I hide behind the bed as Oliver opens the door. "Did you just wake up? Your hair is a mess." Goro laughs. "Yeah, erm, just meet me at the Quidditch shop in an hour." Oliver tries to smooth his hair. "Two hours?" Goro asks a smirk in his voice. Oliver tilts his head in confusion. "There's a girl in here isn't there. You've got lipstick on your neck, your hair's a mess, you're completely dressed but you just lied and told me you were asleep, and you smell like perfume." Goro laughs.
Oliver shoves Goro down the hall and closes and locks the door. I emerge from my hiding place. Oliver picks me up and sits on his bed. "Two hours left." he sighs. I push him back onto the bed and put my head on his chest. "I love you." I whisper. "I love you too Emi." he whispers wrapping us in the covers.
He wakes me with kisses and I groan "I don't want to get up yet." laughing Oliver sits me up and sits behind me. I sigh contentedly as he kisses my neck. "It's my last year." he murmurs. "I'm going to miss seeing you all the time." I mumble. "I want to tell your family after I graduate." he whispers. I freeze and turn to him slowly. "Or better yet, I'll tell them this winter at Haru and Isamu's wedding. They'll be in a good mood and will take the news better." Oliver kisses my cheek before getting up.
I watch Oliver and Goro rough housing on the platform. "Hey, Emi. You may have to give this punk his shirts back. I think he's dating someone now." Goro laughs as he punches Oliver's arm. "I'm going to go say hi to the girls." I scoff. I hop onto the train rolling my eyes. Hina is kissing her boyfriend Adair Selwyn and Aiya is on her boyfriend Birk Finnigan's lap. I sit by the door waiting for our friends.
The compartment gets chilly and the Malfoy brat and his goons fall in followed by a dementor. It looks around and starts in on Malfoy and his goons. I get to my feet and get between the dementor and the boys. I whit light appears on my fingertips and I use the light to back the dementor into the corridor. I back the dementor and friends up until we reach the door they came in. "Shoo!" I yell and they flee the train. I drop to the ground feeling completely drained and pass out.
I wake on Goro's back. "Wow, what fresh air up here." I mumble. "Aww, she's awake!" he laughs. "My boyfriend's coming to the weddings this winter so behave. Listen to him and everything he has to say. Don't ruin it for me." I murmur before passing out again. I come to in my dorm and find my roommates in my bed. I change into one of Oliver's shirts that falls to my knees. I crawl back into bed and fall asleep.
It's the first game of the season and the stands are packed with red and yellow. I smile as Lee begins his commentary. "Someone ought to wash that boy's mouth out with soap one of these days." Leanne laughs. I cover my eyes as the rain falls harder. I can't even see the goal posts anymore. It happens so suddenly I barely have time to react. The dementors descend on the spectators and I lift my hand. The white light emerges and it's much brighter this time around.
A unicorn Patronus jumps out and canters around. It knocks the dementors away and warms the air. Harry falls off his broom and I watch in horror with everyone else as it floats dazedly towards the Whomping Willow. Tears fall silently down my face as we watch its destruction. I wait for Angelina and Alicia outside the changing rooms. The team comes out and make their way up to the school. I follow silently.
"Where's Oliver?" Goro asks. "Trying to drown himself in the showers." Fred sighs. I stop walking and turn around. "Where are you going?!" Goro calls. "Going to get my boyfriend!" I shout. I hurry back down to the changing rooms and walk in. I hear the showers and make my way over. "Oli... sweetheart. Please come out." I call. He doesn't reply and I walk into the showers. Oliver is on the shower floor wrapped in a towel.
I knock on the wall and he looks up. I drop down next to him and wrap my arms around him. I rub his back not saying a word. "You're going to win this year. I just know it. You're going to win the cup." I whisper. His arms go around me and he pulls me onto his lap. I brush his damp hair back and kiss the top of his head. There's a booming knock on the door. "Oliver is my sister in there?!" Goro yells. I kiss Oliver's cheek and get the door.
"You! Out. Now!" Goro growls. I turn to Oliver and bite my lip. "Go on. It's ok." he mouths. I walk out slowly my eyes still on Oliver. Goro shuts the door on me. I can hear Goro's muffled shouting as I pace the changing room. Suddenly the shouting stops and I see Goro slump against the door. I knock softly. Oliver exits with Goro. "I should've told you ages ago and that was my fault. Emi wanted to tell you but I wouldn't let her. I love her and I hope that this won't hurt our friendship." Oliver dresses quickly and takes my hand.
I let my eyes meet Oliver's and smile. "Come on. I need to talk to Harry." Oliver whispers. We leave and Oliver wraps an arm around my waist as we walk. "No more hiding?" I ask. "No more hiding." Oliver kisses me. I put my head on his shoulder as we walk. I wait patiently while Oliver and Harry talk.
Oliver carries me up to Gryffindor Tower since I'm a bit tired. He sets me down when we reach the portrait though he keeps an arm around me. The common room is quiet and most are in their dorms. The team sits around the fire staring into it blankly. I go to go up to my dorm but Oliver pulls me back and sits me on his lap. This catches the twins and Lee's attention. Oliver puts his head on my shoulder and frowns at them.
"You know she has a boyfriend, right?" Lee smirks. "I know. We've been dating for two years now. I just told Goro that. Now go get my Quidditch book from my desk." Oliver orders. The three of them stumble up the stairs in shock. Oliver kisses my cheek and holds me tighter. The boys return with Oliver's book. He reads as he holds me and I smile and read with him. I find some of the tactics to be a bit off and tut every time.
Oliver hands me a pen and I begin to write notes in the margins. "Have you been studying up on Quidditch?" he wonders. "No. My boyfriend is just a Quidditch maniac." I smile and kiss him softly. The portrait swings open and Goro steps inside. His eyes land on me and Oliver. He shakes his head and sits down opposite us. The room goes silent. Goro nods and then smirks.
"You two look really good together." Goro smiles. Everyone relaxes. I continue making notes while the two talk. "Is there anything else you want to confess today, Oliver?" Goro sighs sitting back. "At the start of every year your mum packs you mochi and I eat before you can." Oliver smiles at the memory. "My mum doesn't pack me mochi. Emi does." Goro laughs. Oliver turns to me in shock. "Guilty." I blush and turn away.
They continue talking until midnight. "I'm going to bed." I yawn sleepily. I kiss both their cheeks and go to bed. I'm much happier now that we don't have to hide. Though Goro frowns and grumbles every now and then but since both Oliver and I look much happier together he doesn't say much. I'm in the library looking for books on charms when Oliver wraps his arms around me and kisses my cheek. "I miss you." he whispers.
I allow myself a small smile. "Goro told me you haven't been keeping up with your classwork and homework. Why?" I ask. Oliver begins to groan and I turn to him with a frown. "Go study. I'll be over in a minute." I kiss him softly. He pouts but goes to the table where my books are and pull out his books. I return with mine and sit as close as I can. "Actually study." I pinch his cheek. "Can I get a kiss first?" he pouts. "Catch up on your homework and I will." I promise.
He grumbles but starts on his missing work. I check on him every now and then but he's working just fine. I've just finished studying when he slides me onto his lap. "I finished all my missing assignments, homework, and classwork. Now can I get a reward?" he pouts. I smile and kiss him. "Can I get more mochi?" he asks. "I'll make you some this winter." I promise running my hands through his hair.
His smile widens. "What are you going to do about Harry?" I wonder. His smile drops a little bit. "He wants to use a school broom until he can get a new broom. I'd rather he just order one now but he's still excellent on a school broom." Oliver sighs. I continue stroking his hair. "Having fun?" he chuckles. "I just wish you wouldn't rip your hair out over Quidditch. You've got a nice head of hair." I pout. Oliver kisses my cheek and returns to studying.
I wait patiently in the courtyard for Oliver to finish talking to Harry. When they're done Oliver hurries out and takes my hand. "I'm nervous Emi." he whispers. "I won't leave your side for a moment." I promise. Me, Hina, and Aiya made a plan to introduce our boyfriends to the family at the same time. You know, ripping the bandage off in one go. I wrap my arms around him as we walk stealing kisses. "Goro doesn't like this." he mumbles.
I turn and see Goro frowning. "I just wanted a kiss. It'll be harder to get one when my entire family will be watching." I pout. He pulls me to the side and examines my face. "Once and you stop pouting. If you go back to your family like this, they'll be much harder on me." he frowns. I whine and stand on tip toe. "Really Emiko." he whispers looking around. "Not even for extra mochi?" I pout. "Not even." he smirks ruffling my hair.
He hugs me from behind as we walk. I grumble all the way to the train. Oliver stops suddenly and turns me to him. "Pouty girl." he whispers kissing me. I walk into my friends' compartment in a kiss drunken daze. "Damn. Emi are you ok? Your face is really red." Alicia laughs. "He's not just good at Quidditch." I murmur sitting down and giggling. "I remember when she used to go on hour long tirades about how she was going to break up with him over a hickey." Angelina sighs heavily.
Hina and Aiya stumble in with snow in their hair. "Snowball fight outside." Lee drops in panting. Fred and George drop in as the train departs. "Did you tell Oliver he's not going to see you until the day of the weddings?" Alicia asks. I nod "That's why I walked in here the way I did." she pretends to gag and I shrug nonchalantly. We tease each other all the way back to London. I run straight into dad's arms when I see him. "Your boyfriend is coming to the weddings. Do you want me to keep your brothers in check?" Dad whispers and I smile.
"No, mum and grandma should be able to tame them easily." I giggle. Dad scoffs but doesn't have a chance to respond because Aiya and Hina tackle hug us. We're all laughing uncontrollably as Goro arrives with everyone's bags. We still haven't fully calmed down and mum gives us a look. "Hihi!" Rhys squeals running to her after getting some mochi from grandma. I grab a matcha piece and head up to my room. Mum comes up and sits on my bed as I put my things away.
"Your dad said your boyfriend is coming. Is he your plus one?" mum smirks. "He was already invited a long time ago. We just started dating three years ago." I smile. Mum pouts. "Goro knows. He already has his melt down." I sigh. "Goro had a meltdown." mum gasps. I nod. "He sort of refused to let me in the room while he screamed at my boyfriend. I felt terrible having to listen to the shouting from the other side of the door, but at least we don't have to hide in empty classrooms and closets anymore." I try to sound positive about the situation.
"Is that how you got around him?" mum sighs. "Yeah, it kind of sucked having my first date, every date, every valentine's day, and birthday in hiding. My boyfriend felt terrible too and then Goro threatened to snap my boyfriend's neck and my boyfriend felt he shouldn't come visit the family and introduce himself. Can you help control the boys so he feels more comfortable? Hina and Aiya are bringing their boyfriends too. It would be helpful if the boys were well behaved and didn't cause trouble." I huff.
"Don't worry about those troublemakers. I'll keep them in line." grandma promises from the doorway. I jump. "However, I did hear that he left marks on you when Goro started asking questions. Explain." she orders joining mum on my bed. "My dance class slip came in. I was on the cover with another student, a male student, and he got jealous. Also, I told him because he wouldn't let me tell Goro that we couldn't hang out over the break." I confess.
Grandma tuts disapprovingly. "What a mess! And all because of their overprotectiveness. It's good that they don't want their sisters to be hurt but there's a limit Yui." grandma turns to mum. Mum nods with a matching disapproving frown. "When are grandma and grandpa Sato getting in?" I ask trying to change the subject. "Tomorrow morning. Now, how is it that your father found out about your relationship before I did?" mum pouts. "He guessed. Then before I got off the train my boyfriend kissed me and dad saw. He just didn't want to cause a scene at the station. It's not like I confessed first or anything either." I shrug.
Hina laces up my spruce blue pouf dress. "Are you sure they'll be, ok?" Aiya bites her lip in worry. I nod "Mum, grandma Sato, and grandma Watanabe agreed to keep our dear brothers in check." Aiya sighs and turns to finish her make up. I slip into my black stilettos and brush out the tight curls I'd put my hair in until they're soft and manageable. I examine my reflection in my floor length mirror. My dress falls perfectly a few inches above my knees and my earrings and necklace match the tiny details in my dress. When we're done getting ready, we go down the stairs and find most of the guests have arrived. We greet them and lead them to their seats.
I gently nudge Aiya when Birk arrives with Adair. They look nervous. Grandma Watanabe's eyes narrow as she locks onto her target but Aiya and Hina are faster leading their boyfriends over to the friend section of the seating. I take my seat between Goro and Aiya as the wedding begins. I can see mum crying and nudge Goro. He hands her some tissues and tuts. I get a bit misty eyed but keep in control.
"It looks like your boyfriend chose not to show up little sister!" Isamu teases. "Oh no, he's here." I smile. All of my brothers except Goro frown. "What's eating you?" Akio wonders. Before Goro can answer Oliver walks over. I get to my feet and hug him. "No fucking way!" Akihiro mutters. "You let her date your best friend?!" Haru gasps. "He confessed first." dad chuckles sitting down. Goro head whips around to stare at Oliver. "Sorry, I forgot to mention that detail." Oliver chuckles nervously.
"I went for an early morning run and...", I pause as my brothers begin to growl my grandmothers come by and smack the back of their heads, "And I ran into Oliver. He confessed or rather a mutual confession. It's been a little over three years now. We were going to tell you after he graduated but..." Oliver smiles and sits down in my seat sitting me in his lap. "Harry fell off his broom because of the dementors guarding the school and we lost the Quidditch match. Some of my teammates told her I was 'trying to drown myself in the showers'. She immediately came to my side and that's when Goro found out. He yelled. I explained calmly. We're much happier now that we don't have to hide." he explains calmly.
I play with Oliver's hand and put my head on his shoulder. "You two look happy and that's all I can ask for but if you make her cry for any reason I will not be pleased." dad raises a meaningful eyebrow and stares at Oliver until he nods. "That's about all I can really ask for." dad sighs leaning back in his chair. I smile and mum sits down. "You can't spend the entire evening questioning him. What about the other two?" mum pouts. "Aren't you ashamed in the slightest? Your brothers and sisters have all found someone that makes them happy and you haven't. Yes, you know where you're going career wise but I'd be happier if you found someone too." grandma Sato starts smacking Goro's back.
Oliver turns and smiles. "Aww, Aiya and Hina are coming over with guests." he murmurs. I lace my fingers and his. I nod as Aiya and Hina sit down with their boyfriends. It looks like my brothers are going to start growling again but grandma Watanabe intervenes smiling warmly and welcoming the two newcomers. After a bit of questioning my brothers sit back looking rather defeated. "Dance with me." I whisper. We get up Akihiro frowns. "You two go enjoy a dance or two. You two as well. Leave these boys to their pouting." grandma Sato smiles.
Oliver breathes a sigh of relief once we're out on the dance floor. "I thought they were going to kill me." he whispers. I wrap my arms around his neck and laugh. "If we'd waited any longer, they would have." I giggle. "Is this funny to you?" Oliver chuckles. "Did you see Goro's face when grandma Sato started in on him and started hitting him." I laugh. Oliver gives me a look and I try not to laugh. He spins me around and holds me close. "You know I think grandma Watanabe and dad like you the most." I whisper.
"What about you? Do you like me?" he wonders. I bite my lip and he frowns. "I don't like you. I love you, Oliver Wood." I smile. A smile flickers onto his face and he brightens instantly. He tuts and kisses me softly. "You're going to get in trouble." I giggle. "It's well worth it." he murmurs kissing me again.
