Note: 100 chapters! I never dreamed I'd ever write a 100 chapter fic, much less a 100 chapter collection of one shots! :))) To all who have read and enjoyed these little stories, thank you so very much! It really means a lot to me as a writer, and as someone who loved this underrated OTP.
I'm marking this collection as Complete so I can open a new one. And it'll be just as fluffy or whumpy as this one. :)
Again, thank you so much for your support. :) -Maria
It had been a difficult day. The team had to question a human trafficking victim in order to get the ring leader, and Hetty had offered to talk to her.
'I know what she's feeling, because I've been through what she she's been through.' She said when she asked to talk to her.
She spoke to her for the next hour, shared what her ordeal was like, and told the girl that getting through each day would get easier over time.
That night, Granger got a text from Hetty saying: 'Come meet me on the deck of the boatshed.'
'The boatshed has a deck?' He asked himself.
But sure enough, when he looked around, he saw Hetty sitting on a rocking chair on the deck!
'So, how long has there been a deck here? Because I don't remember there ever being 1 here.' He asked.
'I had it built a few years ago. Figured it'd be a nice resting place. Plus, the view from here on starry nights like this is breathtaking!' Hetty replied.
After sitting in the other rocking chair. 'You did great today.'
'I hope so. The poor girl is going to need a lot of support. And I'm not even sure why I said things would eventually get better overtime.' Hetty replied, worried.
'Because, things eventually got easier for you?'
'Have they? I still get bad dreams of the ordeal, I sometimes get sudden painful flashbacks, and my back hurts on most rainy days for no reason. Some days, I feel like I['m still in the recovery period. Seems like the only thing that helps me feel better, is being with you.'
Granger felt really touched by that comment.
Leaning to hold her hands. 'Being with you has been the best part of my life as well. And I still get bad days as well. You know what mostly helps? Knowing that you'll be around at the end of the day.'
Feeling so touched by his kind words, Hetty went to give him a big hug.
When they were done hugging, Hetty noticed a bright star in the sky.
'Look at that bright star over there. You know what it reminds me of?'
'What?'
'Us, and how much we mean to each other. Too cheesy?'
Rubbing her cheek. 'Not at all.' Granger replied.
