"Mark! I need to talk to you" Addison said approaching Mark
"Ok, I guess it's important cause you to have this "I want to know something" face"
They went inside a conference, Mark took a seat and observe his hysterical friend ranting about her boyfriend
"What's wrong with Derek?"
"What do you mean?"
"He's been acting weird lately. He snaps at me even though I didn't do anything! He's ignoring me!" She said pacing back and forth with big hand gestures and over raised voice, Mark just stay silent
Addison stops pacing and stops talking cause she thought of something, she turns around and faces Mark. Now the calm Mark see the look of Addison is now terrified
"you," she said as if his accusing him "you knew something. Tell me!" She threatens him
"I-I Don't know anything" he denied
"Ohhh gut ya!" There's a smug in her face as if she cracks this case "you never startle, ever. Now you better tell me what he's planning or you'll see my wrath" Mark swallowed a big gulp, Addison can be sweeter than sugar if she wants to but she can be satan. But he needs to hold his ground, he can take any consequence she'll give him for the sake of his best friend
"You know this is why they called you satan" After he finishes his sentence that's the only thing he can remember when he woke up he's on the hospital bed in the E.R
"You're awake, sleeping beauty, or was it snow white? I don't know" a voice said laughing teasing the man laying in bed
"That's what you repay me? Mocking me that I was knocked out by a girl oh! No, wait for your girlfriend, who has a lot of anger for you. And this is what I get in return for trying to keep your secret. Geez, thanks Derek" Mark said annoyed and a little mad at him, even though he's a jackass and a man whore. Mark will be that good friend who won't judge you even if you're in the wrong or support you in everything, he is always right there if you need him. He won't throw his friends out of the bus even if it's to save himself, no, if that friend dies he die as well. That's what kind of friend he is
Derek smiled thinking of how Mark is that kind of friend, he just take Addison's punch to keep his secret and Derek knew how much it hurts got hit by Addison
"Thanks, men, thank you for helping, and thank you for backing me up on this. Just wait a little longer ok, and I'm sorry I mocked you. You're a good friend, you're my best friend" Derek sincerely took a speech, Mark accepted his apology but still a little piss at him
A lot of hours have gone by and it's nighttime, it's time for Addison to go home which she is grateful because this is one of those days she declared that it's not her day. Because first her boyfriend who she hasn't seen her boyfriend all day, it was like he has a tracker on her that she didn't know because she kept missing him. Second, she got called to the Chief of surgery's office because of what she did to Mark, it was like being in high school all over again being called in a principal's office. Third, she's just tired and wanted to lay herself in her overly priced comfy bed full of cotton pillows and a thousand-dollar bed sheet.
She was about to walk in the elevator to go home when she heard someone call her, when she turns around she saw that it was Maureen one of Derek's intern
"Dr. Montgomery!" Maureen shouted
"Is there something wrong Dr. Williams?" Addison ask worriedly cause the young girl in front of her is pathing trying to control her breathing
"Dr. Shepherd" Maureen said breathing heavily hearing her boyfriend's name alerted Addison
"What's wrong with Derek?" She asks with a voice of "tell me now" and full of authority
"He-He's at the rooftop looks like he's going to jump"
"What?" Panic is evident in Addison's voice, without a word she went straight to the stairs. As she passed by a lot of eyes are following her, some are wondering why the doctor is running and being agitated and some are impressed because she was wearing ridiculous and expensive high heels yet she can run fast without tripping.
Addison didn't mind the stares she was receiving, there were a lot of questions running through her mind, why did her boyfriend try to jump a 6-floor building is he crazy. When she got to the rooftop she abruptly open the door and see Derek on the edge of the building, causing Addison to panic, even more, she froze when she saw him
"Der-Derek what-what are you doing there?!" She shouted as she comes closer to him
"Stay where you are! Promise!" Derek shouted back
Addison immediately stops walking "ok! Ok, I'm staying! Can you please get down from there so we could talk about it" Addison plead which is not a Forbes Montgomery behavior, but it's the person she loves therefore if she needs to beg him not to jump she will do it? No matter what other people say, she doesn't care
"No! You don't love me anymore"
"What?! Where is this coming from?! You know I love you! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THAT IF YOU JUMP RIGHT NOW AND DIE I WOULD DIE TOO! I LOVE YOU! please get down from there" she said pleading and begging, unaware of people behind her all her focus is on Derek
"Even I went crazy?"
"Yes"
"You meant that?!" Derek reassures her
"Yes, baby!"
Derek nodded "okay," he said, Addison sighed in relief knowing he was going to be safe once he got down from the edge. Derek was about to go down when he missed a step causing him to slip and fell from the building,
"AHHHHHHHH! DEREK!" Addison screams and people behind her run in panic to see what happened to Derek, Addison who momentarily froze, traumatized on her spot ran immediately to where Derek fell and saw him on a safety net slowly getting him to the ground safe behind him there's a big message covering the whole parking lot of the hospital
"WILL YOU MARRY ME" is written on the ground, which she was shocked, people who are with her on the rooftop find it terrifyingly romantic
When Derek is standing in the middle of the parking lot someone gives him a microphone and he started speaking, a lot of people gather to see what's the commotion all about
"ADDISON. I KNOW YOU'LL BE MAD OR EVEN FURIOUS AT ME RIGHT NOW FOR THE STANT I PULLED BACK THERE, BUT I HOPE YOU'LL ALSO SEE THAT I TRIED TO BE UNIQUE AND ROMANTIC AS POSSIBLE. SO ADDISON ADRIENNE FORBES MONTGOMERY EVEN IF YOU'RE MAD AT ME I WANT TO ASK WILL YOU MARRY ME?!"
Addison was speechless, he is right, she is furious at him without a doubt but she couldn't get to it for now because now she knows he is safe and he is proposing to her, everyone including Derek was intrigued on what Addison's going to do. Instead of shouting her answer as everyone expected she ran down the stairs as fast as she could without a minute or two she was coming out of the hospital front door. Derek who was in a panic when he saw Addison run was relieved seeing her now walking towards him, he was smiling then he felt a sting on his left cheek, everyone who was watching was shocked, gasped
"YOU IDIOT! YOU DUMB ASS, SON OF A BITCH! DO YOU KNOW HOW TERRIFIED I WAS! DO YOU THINK THIS IS ROMANTIC?! HAVE YOU GONE MENTAL?!" She kept shouting at him "WHAT IF YOU FELL AND DIE DO YOU THINK WHAT WILL HAPPENED TO ME?" She sounded furious which is understandable, she could continue shouting at him but Derek kissed her long sweet, passionate, and full of love that melts Addison and her anger away. When they pulled apart
"Now I'm gonna ask again. Addison Adrianne Forbes Montgomery will you marry me?" This time he kneeled on one knee and pulled out a Tiffany blue small box which no brainer holds an engagement ring
Addison was still in shock but able to verbalize her answer "yes! YES DEREK CHRISTOPHER SHEPHERD I WILL MARRY YOU" she proudly shouted
Derek slip the ring into Addison's ring finger and kissed his now know fiancé soon to be Mrs. Shepherd
Addison screams that was the last memory she saw before she passed out
