Chapter 76-Murphy returns
Clarke's P.O.V
The next day
Clarke climbed off the couch that was in Murphy and Raven's room. She ran her hands through her blond hair and looked at the door as it opened. Murphy looked at her. "Why...Why are you on my couch?" Murphy asks.
"Because I said something stupid," Clarke says.
"Yeah, I know. Octavia radioed us and told me," Murphy says as he sits down beside her. "How are you feeling about what you said yesterday?"
"Like shit," Clarke says. "I'm scared, Murphy, I'm scared that I'm going to lose someone else or I'm going to lose Lexa, and then I'll be as good as dead. I thought that if I pushed it all away, if I tried to let go of my emotions, I couldn't get hurt again, I can't be, but now I'm hurting the people I love, I'm hurting Lexa."
"Well, maybe you should go talk to her," Murphy suggests.
"And say what? Hey, sorry I was a complete bitch yesterday and said that everything we have talked about since we met was bullshit," Clarke says.
Murphy chuckles and nods. "You'll have to do it at one point," Murphy says as he lays his hands on her shoulder. "Um, there is another thing."
"You proposed?" Clarke asks.
"No," Murphy says. He stands up and motions for Clarke to follow him. Clarke follows Murphy out of the room and takes him to Raven's workshop. Raven was sitting by Madi, showing her what she had made.
"You took a kid?" Clarke asks as she looks at Madi.
"You're Wanheda," She says to her.
"I am. Who are you?" Clarke asks her.
"Madi,"
"Yeah, she's a nightblood," Murphy tells her.
"But she was in a village there?" Clarke asks.
"Amy's already dead, so you can't execute her," Raven says.
"Well, we should probably get her to the rest of the nightbloods," Clarke suggests.
"I don't wanna go. I want to stay with Raven and Murphy," Madi says.
"Well, until I talk to Lexa, you two keep an eye on her," Clarke says before she leaves the room.
Lexa's P.O.V
Lexa was sitting in the throne room after talking with the leader of the Shadow Valley army leader. She looks at Clarke as she walks in. "Hey," Clarke says softly.
"Hey," Lexa says as she stands up and walks over to the table.
"Sorry, I didn't come to bed last night," Clarke says.
"Octavia kept me company. She slept on the couch," Lexa says without looking at her.
"Lexa-"
"Don't say sorry. You may have been mad, but I don't believe that all of that was just because of anger. You meant some of it," Lexa says as she turns and looks at her.
"Yeah, I want to see Lucy and Philip beg. You would say the same thing if it was Octavia he killed, and there is a decent chance we will die by a sword," Clarke says as she walks up to her. "I'm sorry about everything else. When I thought about that life, I always saw Wells standing by me, and now thinking about it hurts because he won't be standing by me. Anyways Murphy and Raven found a Nightblood at the Shadow Valley village. You should go talk to them," Clarke says. She leaves the room. Lexa leaves a minute later.
Lucy's P.O.V
Lucy looked at Logan as he walked into the room. "What did you find?" She asks.
"Eddie's wife and son are gone. It looked like they just packed and left," Logan tells Lucy.
"Looks like your right-hand man may have made a deal with our enemy," Lucy growls.
"He wouldn't do that. Eddie is loyal to Azgeda," Logan says.
"He probably cares more about his family than he does us. What does he know?" Lucy asks him.
"I don't know. Eddie wasn't just my right man. He controlled parts of the army, he knew more than just what I told him, and I didn't tell him much of anything," Logan says.
"Great," Lucy says. "We'll be better off when Jake brings his men here."
Bellamy's P.O.V
Bellamy walked into Octavia's room and smiled at his sister. "You're back," Octavia says as she stands up and hugs him. "Bellamy, Emerson-"
"Is hunting us, I know," Bellamy finishes for her. "Eddie told Clarke who told Murphy who told me," Bellamy says as he sits down beside Octavia. "I haven't told Ontari yet. I don't want her to worry."
"She'll find out at some point. Ontari's smart. She should hear it from you," Octavia suggests.
"Have you told Lincoln?"
"I haven't seen him. I know he is helping the army get settled in," Octavia tells him.
"You okay? They said you got shot," Bellamy says.
"I'm fine, it hurts a little when I move around too much, but I'm doing okay," Octavia reassures her brother, who nods. "Anything interesting happens at the Shadow Valley clan?"
"We found a nightblood," Bellamy tells her.
"Oh, Lexa talk to them yet?"
"I don't know. I saw her earlier. She didn't look too happy."
"She and Clarke got in a bad fight," Octavia says.
"Yeah, that sounds about right," Bellamy says. "Well, you can tell me what has been happening here."
Lexa's P.O.V
Lexa walked into Raven's workshop and looked at Murphy, Raven, and Madi. "You must be the nightblood Clarke told me about," Lexa says as she walks up to Madi, who nods. "Do you know who I am?"
"You're the Commander," She says.
"That's right, I am. You know nightbloods are supposed to join the other nightbloods for safety," Lexa says softly as she bends down to the girl's height.
"Raven and Murphy can keep me safe," Madi says.
"Yes, they could," Lexa says. "Can you give me a minute alone with Raven and Murphy," Madi nods as she leaves the room. Lexa looks at the two of them.
"What? It's not our fault," Raven says with a smirk.
"What do you guys want to do?" Lexa asks.
"She's a nightblood, Lexa, but I don't know how interested she is in being Commander," Murphy says as he sits down beside Raven.
"Okay, how about this? You two will keep an eye on her, and she will sleep in your room. One of you will bring her to lessons when they have, and you will need to train her to defend herself, understood?" Lexa asked the two, who nodded.
"You and Clarke talk?" Murphy asks.
"We're working on it," Lexa says before she leaves the room, telling Madi to go back in as she walks past the girl.
Jasper's P.O.V
Jasper walked into the throne room and saw Clarke standing on the balcony, watching the city. He walked up beside her and looked out at the city. "This always impresses me," Jasper says, making Clarke look at him. "I remember when we first came down here, we thought grounders were crazy people who enjoyed killing. Sure, that is true for some of them, but most of them are just people trying to get by, just like us."
Clarke nods as she looks at the city. "A part of me wants to grab that key, use the missiles, and end this war quickly," Clarke says.
"Why don't you?" Jasper asks.
"You already answered it," Clarke says. "I would be killing people who are just trying to get by just like us. They follow orders because that is how they live, and they keep the people they love alive. I would be killing innocent people."
Jasper nods as he looks at the city. "When this is over, and we've won. We should blow up Mount Weather,"
"We will," Clarke tells Jasper. "I promise you, Jasper, we will get rid of Mount Weather."
Lucy's P.O.V
Lucy looked at Emerson as he walked into the room. "I'm confused. Why the hell are you still here? Shouldn't you be out there trying to kill Octavia and Bellamy Blake?" Lucy asks Emerson.
"They are in Polis. How do you expect me to kill them? I'll be noticed before I reach those gates," Emerson growls.
"Well, maybe you hit Octavia in the head with your first shot. You could have done something right. What is the point of keeping you alive if you can't do the most simple tasks?" Lucy asks him.
"I found the Bones clan, I may have failed at killing the Blakes, but I just got you an army that will help put you back into this war," Emerson says. "Also, you can't even defend your own area. Bryan was killed, and two people left without you even knowing, and you are giving me shit. I'm starting to think you are way over your head," Emerson growls.
"Is that so?" Lucy asks.
"The only reason you might win this war is because of another clan, and if they lose, that's it and let's be honest, Clarke could end this war whenever she wants. All she has to do is use the missiles inside of Mount Weather," Emerson says.
"Clarke won't do that. She wouldn't kill all of these people unless she had no choice, and we'll kill her before we push her that fair. Now get the hell out before I kill you," Emerson doesn't say anything as he leaves the room.
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke walked into her room that night and saw Lexa lying on the couch. "I can sleep there."
"I'm not kicking you out of bed, Clarke," Lexa says as she stands up. "You know, while talking with Madi today. I saw how much she wanted to be with Raven and Murphy, and I couldn't take her away from them because they cared about her just as much."
"I think I'm missing the point," Clarke says.
"My point is that even in all this shit, they have found someone to care about," Lexa says. "I know that you are hurting, but instead of holding it all in, you need to figure out a way to let it out."
"You have any suggestions cause training hasn't done much," Clarke says.
"I want you to help me train the nightbloods," Lexa says flatly.
"What?" Clarke asks.
"That will be something you can focus on, and as you said, there is a chance I could die during all this, and if that happens, a new Commander will be chosen, and those kids should know how to fight," Lexa says. Clarke nods.
"Okay, I'll help you train the nightbloods," Clarke agrees.
"Good," Lexa says before she grabs Clarke and kisses her. Clarke grabs Lexa by her hips and pushes her on their bed. Lexa pulls Clarke's shirt over her head before she kisses her again.
Thanks for reading the next chapter. We will get back into the war more as more plans are set, and fights start to begin once again. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
