Chapter 77-Meetings
Lucy's P.O.V
Lucy stood on a balcony in the castle watching as The Bones clan entered Azgeda. "This could backfire," Mance says from behind her.
"You're right, it could, but this war is over if they don't help us," Lucy says. "We've lost two clans, and Lexa has lost a village."
"That's because she was smarter than us. She moved her armies to Polis before we even knew that she knew we were against her," Mance says.
"Then we need to take Polis," Lucy says.
"How do you expect to do that? Even if we marched our entire army there, they have more weapons, Skaikru, and our weapons, and they have the walls. It would be a siege, and we would lose too many men for another attack," Mance says.
"Then what do you want me to do, Mance? We tried taking their supplies, and they stopped that. They have the Blue Cliff clan, which can continue to supply them with food. We can't starve them out," Lucy growls.
"Let's say we do lay siege on Polis, all it takes is for Clarke to escape, and they could use a missile," Mance replies. "They have places in Polis they could hide. We wouldn't. Maybe your new husband will have some ideas on how to win this war."
"Don't remind me of that," Lucy says as she leaves to go greet Jake.
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke and Lexa walk outside and walk towards the ring where the nightbloods were waiting. "Is Wanheda joining us today?" Aden asks.
"She will be helping me train you," Lexa says as she grabs a wooden sword and throws it to Clarke, who catches it.
"We're using wood?"
"They are children," Lexa points out. Clarke shrugs her shoulders and nods. "We will both take five of them. Aden, Luke, Ruby, Madi, and Nick will go with Clarke. Dillon, Caroline, Nate, Karen, and Jackie will come with me."
The kids nod as they split up. Clarke looks at the five kids who stare back at her. "Okay, let's start with a sparring match. Madi and Ruby, Luke and Nick and Aden can train with me," Clarke says. The kids nod.
Miller's P.O.V
Miller, Echo, Emori, Roan, Liza, and Matt enter Polis and walk towards the tower. At the entrance of the tower stood Eddie, who had bandaged on his face and new clothes. "Dad," Matt says as he runs past them and hugs Eddie. Liza follows and hugs her husband.
"Thank you," Eddie says as they walk up to him.
"Just following orders. We held our end. Now you have to hold up yours," Miller tells him.
"I will, I swear it," Eddie says. They nod as Echo, Emori, and Roan go into the tower. Miller walks to the medical hut and pushes the door open.
"I'll be there in a moment," He hears Jackson says. Miller walks forwards, and Jackson looks at him. "You're back," Jackson says as he walks up to him and kisses him. "How'd it go?"
"Bryan's dead," Miller says as he sits down. "I killed him. He wouldn't go against Pike."
"I'm sorry, Miller," Jackson says as he lays his hand on his boyfriend's shoulder.
"I know he had to die, he was a threat, but I didn't want to do it even though he was the enemy."
"We don't always hate the enemy," Jackson says. Miller nods as he grabs Jackson's hand.
Lucy's P.O.V
Lucy sat on her throne as Jake entered the room with Emerson beside him. "Hello, my queen," Jake says with a smile as he walks up to her.
"I hope that your men are settling in," Lucy says.
"They are. I figured there would be a chair for me as well," Jake says.
"It is being made," Lucy says through gritted teeth. "Maybe we shall go talk with the generals."
"Sure," Jake says as they walk into the war room where Mance, Logan, Emma, Ash, Dave, Philip, Pike, and Emerson were.
"In case you haven't met him yet, this is Jake, Azgeda's future king," Lucy says to everybody who nods.
"This map is sad," Jake says. "One mark, and that is Outcast Falls."
"You have a plan to add more?" Emma growls.
"I do. You guys have been thinking too small, take out Wanheda, and you'll win the war, kill her friends, and break her, please. She might be the strongest woman on this planet. All killing her friends will do is piss her off and get her to kill us a little bit quicker, same with the Commander. Let's be honest here. None of us can beat those two on a battlefield, especially when they are together," Jake says.
"It sounds like you are saying we are fucked," Mance says.
"I'm saying you are all bad at planning a war," Jake says. "You know what they are doing. They're going from the bottom and weakening you. They have knowledge of the clans."
"Get to the point," Lucy growls.
"Fine, you guys tried taking their wagons, that won't work, but we can destroy a clan before they could ever get to us," Jake says.
"And which clan is that?" Pike asks.
"Floukru," Jake answers.
"One problem with that, they are on the water. We have no boats," Lucy says.
"That is why I have ordered my men to start cutting down trees and building boats, and over the years, we have collected some guns and scopes so that you could use them from afar," Jake tells them.
"Floukru does supply food. It would hurt them. It's a good start," Philip says.
"Order your men to start building boats," Lucy orders everybody who nods as they leave.
"Emma, would you mind staying?" Jake asks the woman who looks at him.
"What do you want?" Emma asks.
"You should watch how you speak," Jake says without turning around. "Stay out of Lucy's bed," Jake says. Emma looks at Lucy, who nods.
"Got it," Emma says before she leaves.
"Come, you should meet my generals," Jake says as he leaves, and Lucy slowly follows.
Murphy's P.O.V
Murphy walked into the throne room and looked at Titus. "Why did you call me in here?"
"There is about to be a meeting, and since Clarke and Lexa are with the nightbloods and Octavia is healing, you will sit in for them," Titus tells Murphy, who nods as he takes a seat. Kane, Jasper, Varys, Indra, Jasper, Beth, Alden, Bonnie, and Tyler enter the room and take a seat. "Murphy will be sitting in for the Commander and Wanheda."
Everybody nods. "Varys, has your men heard anything?" Murphy asks.
"There has been a rumor," Varys says. "Another clan has joined Lucy?"
"There are no more clans," Jasper says.
"There is one," Titus says, making them all look at him. "They are known as the Bones clan."
"Why aren't they an official clan?" Kane asks.
"There are three reasons. The first is that they would kidnap grounders and give them to Mount Weather for their own safety. The second is because of their brutality. They find joy in the pain of others, and they laugh about it," Indra says.
"And the third?" Murphy asks.
"They are known to...to eat their enemy's," Titus says after a moment. "They then wear their bones as armor. Hench the name the Bones clan."
"How many people do they have?" Murphy asks.
"No one knows. No one has heard from them in over a decade. No one knows where they live. We just know what they do," Titus says.
"Great," Murphy says. "They do not know this for sure?" Murphy asks Varys, who shakes his head. "We should still prepare ourselves for it."
"So, what is our next move?" Bonnie asks.
"We have enough men to beat Azgeda. We should attack," Beth says.
"As Lexa said, we would lose too much," Murphy says. "Guards," Two guards enter the room and look at Murphy. "Bring Eddie to us."
The two guards nod as they leave the room. Ten minutes later, they enter with Eddie in front of them. "It is time for you to hold up your end of the deal."
"What do you want to know?" Eddie asks.
"We need to a way to kill Lucy from the inside. If their leader is dead, this war might end. Which one of Lucy's generals is the least loyal?" Murphy asks.
"Mance," Eddie answers.
"Mance?" Bonnie asks. "He's her right-hand man."
"He is, but he also wants power. He doesn't think a woman should lead Azgeda," Eddie says.
"Then why hasn't he killed her?" Indra asks.
"Her other two generals, Logan and Emma, are loyal. They'll die for her. Emma loves her. Mance wanting power isn't a secret. Hell, I think Lucy knows, but she doesn't care because he's good at killing, really good, and as long as Logan and Emma are alive, Mance won't attack her. He doesn't want to die," They all stare at Eddie, and he sighs. "I have no reason to lie, I have my families, and I would very much like to stay out of that cell and away from Wanheda's blade."
"How would we get a message to him?" Alden asks.
"I don't know, Mance barely leaves Azgeda, and when he does, he has a large group of people with him," Eddie says. They all nod.
"That's enough for today. I'll talk to Clarke and Lexa and see what they want to do next," Murphy says. Everybody nods as they slowly leave the room.
Lexa's P.O.V
After training, Lexa and Clarke walk into their room and talk with Murphy about the meeting. "So, what do you think?" Clarke asks her.
"I think it could work," Lexa says. "But we would have to be very careful. If we screw this up, we could get someone killed."
"We would need someone with knowledge of the palace to go," Clarke points out.
"Ontari would be perfect," Clarke says. "She was in that castle her entire life. She would know every room and every way to get in."
"She will need someone to go with her," Lexa says.
"I'll go," Clarke says as she sits down.
"Clarke, no, both Philip and Lucy will be there. If you see them, you may not be able to control yourself," Lexa says. "We need to stay here. This is where we belong."
"We're putting our friends in danger while we're sitting around, training with kids and having sex. How is that fair?" Clarke asks.
"Clarke, you used to play chess, correct?" Lexa asks Clarke, who nods.
"How do you know what that is?" Clarke asks.
"Wells showed me once, anyway the point of the game is to protect your King, we are the kings if we fall, this ends. I don't like this either, Clarke. But we need to be alive for the big fight that is coming," Lexa tells her. "And I'm pretty sure Murphy will tie us up if we try to leave."
"Then who do we send with her?" Clarke asks Lexa.
"We'll send Bellamy. He can hold his own now," Lexa says.
"Okay," Clarke says as she lays down. Lexa soon follows.
Jake's P.O.V
Jake opens the door to his room and looks at Emerson. "Please come in," Jake says. Emerson enters the room and looks at him.
"What do you need?" Emerson asks.
"It's clear you don't like Lucy. I don't either, and if she continues to lead this army, we will lose the war no matter how many men we have. So I say we kill her, I'll become King, and name you and Mance as my generals."
"Mance?" Emerson asks.
"He doesn't like her. I heard a lot, Emerson."
"What about Emma and Logan?"
"They will either join us or die. So what do you say, Emerson? You want to help me kill the enemy within our ranks?"
"I do. You have a plan?" Emerson asks.
"I do, and you are going to love it," Jake says with a grin.
Thanks for reading, both sides have made their next plans, and Jake is making plans of his own. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed.
