Chapter 9!
The tone of this one is definitely different from the others but I was in the mood to switch things up a little. Anyway this one has a younger Moe Kamiji, Burnin, and an older Izumi.
Disclaimer: I don't own BNHA
Enjoy, more notes at the end!

*Moe POV*
Anyone who knew Moe would have thought that she was acting weird and she couldn't even deny that she was feeling a little out of character. Sure she was an up and coming hero but that didn't mean she wasn't still 20 and making her way through the world. Regardless, Moe was doing her best to make full use of her time off.
The flame haired woman adored festivals and whenever she had time over the summer she would go to as many of them as possible and as often as she could. So per usual, Moe had stopped at every stall and played games until she had too much to carry before she suddenly caught sight of a woman who stood out to her. She appeared to be older than Moe, having a sort of careful gentleness in the way she carried herself, and the flame haired woman was mesmerized by her.
The woman's eyes were partially lidded, the stunning green of them brightly reflecting the many lights around them, as she stared out across the stalls with a nostalgic look. A straw sun hat was rested a top her green hair and her white summer dress rolled with the slight breeze. The lower part of her face was covered by a black mask but Moe knew that she still found the woman to be quite beautiful. The flame haired woman couldn't take her eyes off of her and remained dazed and rooted in place as she wordlessly stared.
Her parents had liked to joke that Moe would feel the full force of burning emotions one day thanks to her name and her quirk but she had never expected such kidding words to ever come true.
Moe only now knew what it was like to fall insanely hard in love.
"You've been staring for a while," a low voice called, snapping Moe out of her trance as she came face to face with the woman she had been so taken with.
"Sorry about that," Moe tried, attempting to just smile it away but not being able to hide some of her embarrassment, "I just couldn't help myself," she admitted accidentally and the green haired woman seemed a little surprised but not offended.
"Did you find me beautiful?" the greenette wondered, quiet and maybe a bit pensive, as her eyes studied Moe for a reaction.
"Yeah," the flame haired woman nodded a bit dumbly, once again finding herself entranced due to their proximity, as the word simply fell out of her mouth.
The older masked woman's gaze twitched slightly and one of her hands pushed some of her green hair behind her ear as her finger settled behind it, "How about-" she began but Moe was one step ahead of her.
"Would you spend the festival with me?" Moe requested, accidentally cutting the woman off.
The greenette was completely caught off guard this time, and her raised hand lingered for a moment before falling back down to her side, "Are you fine with someone like me?" she questioned, almost invisibly retreating from the forwardness.
"It can only be you," Moe assured maybe a bit too eagerly, her voice and confidence finally returning as her initial nervousness receded, and the other woman recomposed herself.
"Take care of me then," the greenette requested politely with a small bow of her head.
A bubbling giddiness filled Moe's chest and she couldn't help as a smile found its way onto her face. She felt warm and Moe knew that she had found and taken a once in a lifetime chance that she wouldn't regret.
"Let's get going then!"
-break-
The greenette had been a bit reserved at the start but slowly and subtly she interacted more with the flame haired woman and Moe's heart thumped loudly each time the other woman's eyes smiled at her antics. She energetically led the greenette through everything that the festival had to offer and eventually they found themselves waiting for the fireworks show. Neither of them said anything as the lights began booming through the sky but Moe burned the image of the older woman into her mind.
"I'm not sure why I came out here today," the greenette suddenly revealed during the brief interval between the final fireworks as she stared up into the sky, "it feels like a special day but I can't remember why," she added on, her voice trailing off as she closed her eyes momentarily. "I'm very happy I did though," the green haired woman admitted, her eyes kindly on Moe and the flame haired heroine could only silently stare back.
The light of the last fireworks erupted and made the greenette look like she was glowing, "Can I see you again?" Moe made a final request and the greenette's eyes sparkled at their corners.
"Let's hope."
With that the two eventually parted and the greenette slowly disappeared amongst the sea of people, Moe never moving until she was gone, and the flame woman eventually took her own leave as well.
Her memories of today would stay with her.
-break-
Moe didn't see the woman again.
July 15th had been her first and last day in love.
Notes and Stuff
Not sure if this will be just a one shot or if I'll continue with it like a few of the others but who knows how the inspiration will go.
Anyway, this is off the short writing I did in my idea fic with another yokai Izumi, a Kuchisake-Onna specifically. She doesn't really remember much about when she was alive but Izumi used to celebrate her birthday, July 15th, by going to a summer festival. Canonically, Moe loves festivals so that's how I came up with the idea.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
