Chapter 12!

More Setsuna and Izumi cause I need it. Continuing with Let's Just Date cause I really like the dynamic and Izumi's hannya quirk. While different from the other two parts of this idea, I quite enjoyed doing this particular part.

Burning Bitter

*Setsuna POV*

Setsuna peered over curiously from the couch as she heard their apartment door open and close with Izumi filing her way in slowly before she caught sight of the splitter.

"You're back early," Izumi noted in mild surprise and Setsuna chuckled a little.

"Yeah, caught myself a lucky break," the green haired splitter explained with a pleased grin. "What's on your mind?" she prodded right after, noticing that the other greenette was staring at her a touch more than usual.

"Saw that you got pulled into a quick little interview," Izumi hummed, striding a straight line to the splitter who laughed.

"Oh really?" Setsuna poked, Izumi standing before her now, "Notice anything about it?" she teasingly wondered, prepared for anything that came next.

Izumi's thin red horns grew out and she mounted Setsuna's lap, looking at her face to face, and Setsuna wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. The horned greenette leaned her lips down to one of the splitter's ears and whispered into it.

"Did I notice?" Izumi blew into her ear, making the splitting greenette tingle, "You love being funny don't you?" the horned woman asked with a sigh of amused resignation.

"Gonna do something about it?" Setsuna taunted but instead the horned woman was leaning her forehead against her shoulder quietly. "Izzy?" the splitter questioned in sudden worry.

"Shh," Izumi shushed, her voice low and a tad tired, and Setsuna started rubbing her back.

"What's wrong?" she quickly tried, unsure of what was eating the other greenette right now.

Izumi was silent for a moment before she pulled back, her now black and green eyes staring into her, and Setsuna patiently waited for the horned woman to explain what was happening. The splitting woman highly doubted that it was some outside party and the only other time Izumi got even close to this was when she had a personal problem that was really bugging her. Setsuna continued waiting and eventually the horned greenette sighed.

"Sometimes I can feel myself getting too jealous and I need to stop myself," Izumi explained, apparently a little bitter at herself, but Setsuna shook her head.

"We're dating," she reminded her girlfriend, "aren't you supposed to have stronger feelings?" she tried to reason in an attempt to make the other woman feel better.

"Maybe," Izumi somewhat agreed, though she was clearly doubtful, "but I can't just steal away your freedom because I want to be selfish," the horned woman added on, her expression telling Setsuna that this had been on her mind for a little now.

"It's new for me too Izumi," the splitter comforted, "there's things I'm finding I want from you that didn't affect me before," she revealed, making the other greenette study her in disbelief.

"Like what?" Izumi wondered while the splitting greenette let out a low chuckle.

"You can nag me less," Setsuna half joked and Izumi narrowed her eyes.

"Noted," the horned woman accepted, "and the more serious thing?"

"Be a bit more open?" Setsuna requested, taking in Izumi's somewhat stunned face.

It was more noticeable for Setsuna when the two of them went to different high schools but if Izumi was having a personal issue then she didn't bring it up. The horned greenette particularly disliked feeling like she wasn't in control of things regarding herself and also didn't like being seen that way so she didn't ask for help. The reason the splitter had noticed it in high school was because whenever they talked or met up, Setsuna found that she'd vent her own problems at times and Izumi never would. The horned greenette eventually revealed that she didn't want to bring her problems in when they had time for them and Setsuna had accepted that at the time. However, now that they were dating and living together, some of their troubles should be shared between them so they could support the other properly.

"Set," Izumi tried but the heroine went a little further.

"I'm being serious," Setsuna pressed, doing her best to try and convey that she was being fully honest. "As much as we feel like things haven't changed, they are different now," the splitting greenette informed, knowing that there were things that had changed about both of them individually before and after getting into this relationship. "We're together and both planning to stay that way so we're in for a few bumps here and there," she did her best to explain and Izumi suddenly took her hands and held Setsuna's cheeks.

"Apparently you got quite mature while you were out of my sight," the horned woman remarked, turning Setsuna's face a little like she was inspecting her.

"Pretty impressive right?" the splitter grinned and Izumi smiled down on her.

"Very," the horned woman praised, oddly kind and gentle in wake of their little talk, and Setsuna smirked.

"We're at home right now though and I'm all yours here," she reminded her girlfriend with a wink. "Give me what I want?" Setsuna asked innocently, playfully batting her eyes before cracking herself up, and Izumi laughed with her.

"Practicing your communication now are we?," the horned woman played back, leaning her face over hers.

"Can't help myself," the splitter told her unapologetically and Izumi's eyes grew soft.

"Hey Setsuna," the other girl whispered and the heroine gazed back at her.

"Hmm?" she hummed, mesmerized by the person she knew had to be for her.

"Keep loving me okay?" Izumi requested, clearly flush and being uncharacteristically kind.

"Anything for you," Setsuna smiled, giving her horned lover a peck on the lips.

"Oh?" Izumi smiled, a familiar feeling rolling over Setsuna, "Then wanna tell me how many girls you charmed today?"

Yeah, she liked her girlfriend best like this.

Notes and Stuff

I did have to end it with Izumi back in the lead. This pair with this idea is a lot of fun. Like I said in a few of the other updates for this fic, I was in the mood for some different stuff and wanted to cover them even in the ideas that are more so about the fun interactions. I'm still working on updating my other individual fics so I'll see what I can do there.
