Both Susan and Ivar had locked themselves in their rooms, over the same reason, but then again different. Ivar was angry with himself for letting Kayla fight back Rabadash, and Susan was mad that she did not listen to Kayla in the first place.

An emissary from Terebinthia arrived at Cair Paravel, much to the surprise of the family.

"Your majesties of Narnia, and Lord Ivar. I bring news from King Conláed of Terebinthia."

"Terebinthia has no king, it only has a queen! And that queen is probably at this very moment being tortured to death! Go tell your king that!"

"Ivar, please. Listen to the man."

"Princess Caoilfhionn is precisely the reason I was sent here."

The royals stared at the man in surprise, not willing to trust him at all.

"Kayla is the reason? That can't be right. This whole world knows Conláed wants her dead."

"He does and he doesn't and want her dead. But what he does know, is that if she dies now, then his time is up."

"He knows his immortality will end anyways."

"Of course. And he will still trying to prevent Princess Caoilfhionn from coming back to Terebinthia, but he also want to prevent a war with Calormen."

"I see how it is. He wants to be the one to kill his own sister. He doesn't want her to die in anyone else's hands."

"Ivar!"

"Lucy, that is exactly what is going on! And I am not willing to drive the life of the woman I love into the hands of a man who wants her dead, and neither is she! I know how she is! She would rather remain in Calormene cell than to beg her brother for help!"

"My point is, Lord Ivar, King Conláed wants to send a rescue mission for the princess."

"And what will happen if she does get rescued? Conláed will drive a sword into her heart before she even had the chance to speak! And if anyone should be making a decision on this, it should be Queen Lucy! Kayla did name her as her heir!"

The emissary looked to Lucy for an answer, and she just around at her family. She heard a roar in her head and a still small voice tell her it's not Kayla's time yet.

"My answer is no, do not send a rescue mission for Lady Kayla. Please don't call her princess. It makes her feel like a little girl."

"And what exactly gives you the right to be named her heir?"

Without thinking, Lucy spun her wrist around and a ball of flames appeared.

"That's why! I am of Terebinthian blood! I am the youngest child of Prince Eadbhárd and Princess Alainnabh! Eadbhárd being the twin brother of Queen Úna!"

"The same goes for me!"

Susan had fire power as well.

"So take these words back to our dear cousin Conláed. Queen Caoilfhionn will be rescued, just not by your hands."

The emissary left for his ship back to Terebinthia.

"Your majesties!"

"Oreius!"

"A message from Prince Cor of Archenland! Calormene forces are planning a surprise attack on Anvard!

"By whose authority?"

"Prince Rabadash."

"He wants to attack Archenland, that means he wants to attack Narnia as well. We need to send aid."

"I'll take Edmund, Ivar, and Peridan with forces."

"Lucy, you cannot led an army!"

"Who says?! I'm leading forces because I owe it to someone who is in chains at the moment! And you cannot stop me, brother!"

Edmund, Lucy, Ivar, and Peridan went out to prepare themselves and troops for battle. Everyone was praying that Calormen would not succeed.

Rabadash began with a night assault on Anvard, but the gates were closed and the archers were on the battlements.

"What's the matter, Rabadash? Are you upset things don't start out the way you want them to?"

Rabadash slapped Kayla across the face, hard, but she barely felt it.

"Watch your tongue around me, Princess."

"That's Queen Caoilfhionn to you. I am of higher rank. Tell me, does your father know you're doing this?"

"I don't think that's any of your business."

"Oh, so he doesn't! Let me get this straight. You want to attack Archenland to make Queen Susan your wife. That makes perfect sense."

"And after I make Susan my wife, I'll make you my wife."

"I'd rather slit my own throat! Through both Susan and myself, there is the thrones of Narnia and Terebinthia, and over our dead bodies we will let a pussy of a man dictate what we do! We don't let men tell us what to do, period!"

The next morning, Rabadash had the men build a ram to attack the main gates of Anvard. Kayla stood by and watched he stupidity unfold. She knew that when the battle did fully start, Rabadash wanted her on the front lines.

"For Calormen!"

"For Calormen!"

"More like for hell!"

Even though her hands were tied behind her back, Kayla engulfed herself in flames for self defense, and the Archenland soldiers knew who she was. She also helped kill Calomene soldiers.

Unbeknown to the Narnian army, the Terebinthian navy was deployed to the coast of Archenland and Calormen, mainly to stop the Calormene navy from heading to Terebinthia. The Narnian forces arrived and fell upon Rabadash's rear. Cats attacked the soldiers, quickly killing them. Ivar looked around for Kayla, and he saw her in her flaming form. She let the fire die out when she saw him. She had been beaten to a pulp, it was a wonder she was even walking straight.

He walked up to her and handed her the Silmaril Sword. She kissed him on the lips as she took the sword from him.

Rabadash knew there Terebinthian navy was close, so he sent soldiers to set fire to the ships if they could. Kayla chased after them. One by one, she ran her sword through them, turning them to ashes at the same time.

"Not while I'm alive will Terebinthia be destroyed! And I am not easy to kill!"

Ivar came to aid her, swinging his axe like he was cutting down trees.

Rabadash stood on top of a hill with his sword raised, trying to put fear into the Narnians.

"My army will not be defeated! My army will not be defeated!"

Both Kayla and Lucy throw a ball of fire at Rabadash's sword, melting it.

"Looks like it will be defeated Rabadash!"
