Inuyasha and Shiori both were up early in the morning happily sitting side by side eating what Shizu put in front of them.

Tsukuyomaru had stayed out most of the night sitting by the blood crystal orb contemplating what to do.

While the orb itself held no answer he feet that regardless of its power and how it had helped them all for centuries it belonged to the Tessaiga.

Whether it would assist Inuyasha in breaking a holy barrier he couldn't say. Weighing the pros and cons of surrendering the only means of protection he had known for most of his life he knew what was right.

Walking back into his domicile Shiori greeted him and waved.

"Good morning father." She hummed out between bites of rice.

"Good morning my girl." Leaning down he kissed the top of her head. "Inuyasha."

"Yomaru." The boy said with a nod.

"When you are done eating I will take you to the blood crystal orb. Its power belongs to your clan, your pack, not mine."

"Okay." Inuyasha agreed. As he finished up Shizu retrieved the sword from where Rin slept soundly curled up in a small ball on her futon.

"Come Inuyasha." Tsukuyomaru beckoned leading him out into the larger cavern. Walking past others as they set up what appeared to be an outdoor market he was surprised at all of the ways the people had adapted to living in a cave.

Grasping a torch off of the wall Tsukuyomaru took the boys hand in his to assist him over the unsteady footing. The ground became slicker and Inuyasha smelt water as the sound of a waterfall reached his ears.

Being led into a brightly lit natural area he was amazed at the large waterfall that fell down the cliff face to a tidal pool. In front of it was a red circle that hovered and glowed emitting a comforting light.

Tessaiga began to pulse on his back making him glance at it.

"Tessaiga is moving." He said intrigued. Removing his hand from the elder demons he pulled out the sword as it transformed in his hand.

"The Tessaiga is reacting to the power of the crystal. Approach it slowly and we will gauge their responses to one another." Tsukuyomaru advised.

"Right." Inuyasha nodded his head once. Determinedly he walked over to the orb with the Tessaiga throbbing like mad. Visibly he could see the wave of power coming off of it.

Its demonic aura coursed into his palms making his arms tingle with the vibration. Readjusting his grip he sneered slightly and swallowed hard.

The blood crystal orb began to hum with its own vibrations being felt in the stone ground. "Okay, now what?" Glancing at Tsukuyomaru Inuyasha waited for instructions.

"Point the Tessaiga at it." He said. Doing as he was told he had to hold on with all of his might as the sword began to rattle violently in his hands.

The orb began to pulse throwing out waves of red aura to wash the cavern in its light. Tessaiga began to absorb the energy becoming as red as the crystal.

After a few moments the blood crystal orb turned opaque as it fell to the ground shattering to pieces.

"I killed it!" Inuyasha shouted with worry in his tone. "I'm sorry Yomaru."

"All is well Inuyasha." He assured placing a hand to his shoulder. "Tessaiga absorbed its power. Now you have the power to break demonic barriers."

"What about the one trapping mama and papa?" Inuyasha questioned looking up at him.

"Time will tell. For now let's head back to the girls." He answered. Sighing Inuyasha allowed Tessaiga to transform back to the small rusted blade placing it in its sheath on his back.

Rin accompanied Shiro outside to show her how to care for the dragons at her request. Shizu had informed her that Tsukuyomaru had taken Inuyasha to assist him in wielding the power he came looking for.

"Rin!" Turning she saw him running at her full speed with his smile crooked and his small fangs poking out. "The Tessaiga is red now! Maybe I can save mama and papa!"

"What happened to the barrier protecting the cave?" Rin asked looking to Tsukuyomaru.

"We have stayed hidden long enough. I feel the time has come for my people to venture out and see what has become of the world." He said. "Myself included."

"I see." Rin stated. "My lord, will you accompany us then? We could use your assistance."

"As much as I would like to Rin I cannot leave my family." He replied. "However, if you ever need somewhere to go we are here."

"Thank you. Please tell ms. Shizu how thankful we are for her hospitality. Inuyasha, thank lord Tsukuyomaru for assisting us."

"Thank you Yomaru."

"You are welcome, master Inuyasha." He smirked at him. Finishing to saddle the dragons he led them out to the cave mouth. "Take care little ones. Good luck."

"You too." Rin gave a nod climbing onto the mother dragons saddle while Inuyasha clamored on An-Un. "Come on girl, lets go home."

The dragons took their running start before taking flight turning in the direction of the monastery.
