A/N: Aaaannnddd straight out of left field comes this one. Inspired by the situation with Kana Kusunoki and the fact that he'd told her as Boh that he never intended to follow up on his feelings with his high school girl.
No Boundaries
He'd told her he had feelings for her, but what feelings he'd never been very specific. She knew he was Corn and he'd kissed her before and told her he'd loved her, but was that all an act? It's not like they were dating and he'd made it very clear to her and others that their age difference bothered him. If four years bothered him now, four years would always bother him. She would never be old enough for him to have serious feelings for her or to even show them. She would always be his dirty little secret, never his real lover.
She'd obviously given up on that lost cause. Anyone could see that there were plenty of others that didn't have a problem with making her their girlfriend or the age difference. Predators that had been hiding in the shadows, observing for awhile. Ranging from two to ten years older than her. They certainly didn't have the problems that Kuon had with the four years. Well, at least his made up excuse for not making her his.
He watched in horror as a the man, a year older than him… Hiromune Koga, covertly doted upon and teased the immortal butterfly. After the elevator incident had blown up on social media and in the tabloids, it had been brutally denied and rejected, by him, his manager, and the president of LME. It was something that Lory had done rather unwillingly, simply because he knew Kyoko's secret. He had informed Kuon at the time that if he did that for him, he would never have another chance with her as long as he lived.
"I'm sorry Hiro-kun… I'm really not interested in dating you. I already have someone." He heard her beautiful voice utter words he never wished to hear.
"Really? Who's the lucky guy?" He asked playfully.
Kyoko sighed. "She's someone who isn't afraid to tell me she loves me, and she cherishes my feelings." She told him proudly.
Hiromune's brows raised. "You're..."
Kyoko laughed. "Love doesn't make up excuses and doesn't know boundaries." She explained as they turned to walk down the hall together. She actually sounded really happy now. Relaxed and as if she didn't have a care in the world.
"I suppose you're right. If someone really loves you, there is no excuse to stay away." Kuon heard the male comment as each word ground the shards of his heart to dust. He'd made a poor judgment call when he'd decided to let her know in so many delicate words that he'd never really thought of dating her. Did he just think to tell her he loved her and then chase every prospect out of her life? So many important men in her life had brought harm to her heart: her father, for leaving before he knew she existed; Fuwa for tossing her to the curb, and kicking her when she was down; finally him, for being a dog in a manger.
When he'd asked Lory, later on, about the relationship, he was politely informed that the two young women had been through a lot together. They didn't take their decision lightly and would not turn away from their decision. They knew of the trials and tribulations that they would have to face, but they would face them together without excuses to deny what they felt for each other. Age didn't matter, social status wasn't an issue, and obviously gender wasn't a detriment.
"Why?" He asked upset and in confusion.
"Because they truly love each other. They care enough not to lead each other on or deny their feelings. They wish to support each other in good times and in bad. Something you were not willing to do… So I would appreciate it if you do not harass Kyoko-chan and Kanae-chan. They will have to face enough without you adding to it." Lory chastised.
