Chapter 26: Blaise, the fire illusionist
~flash back~
Tate:
We ran to the base of Mount Pyre, my twin sister and myself. We called out our pokemon, I called out my Solrock and Liza called out her Lunatone. Solrock has an orange-coloured body with yellow spikes and circles around 2 red eyes. lunatone was a crescent moon pokemon that was white all around, a beak like mouth and had 2 red eyes in the middle of the crescent. We climbed onto our pokemon and we scaled up the side of Mount Pyre. We looked up to the top and saw the figure landing. The top of the mountain only had one thing up there and that was the alter where the red and blue orbs were kept. It didn't take too long, a matter of minutes, to reach the top of the mountain. When we reached the top, we saw the figure more clearly. He was wearing black shorts and a red cloak with a hood, on the front was the insignia to Team Magma. He had black horns on his hood and with shoulder length white hair. He had both the blue and red orbs in his hands. We tried to stop him, and he leapt over us and made a run for it. myself and my sister gave chase, I followed the Team Magma fire directly and my sister used her Lunatone to float to the next level and pincer him on the top level, he had nowhere to run.
"We have you surrounded, we recognise you Blaise, just give those orbs back to us and we won't harm you" I shouted out, my attempt to sound intimidating and hopefully he'd surrender once her heard the confidence to my voice, false as it may be.
"We've contacted the pokemon association, it won't be long before we have you under arrest" Liza added to sound even more intimidating, we both hoped there'd be no fight from this and that he'd just turn himself over. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way. Liza walked in from the stair leading to the next level and I walked in from the top of Mount Pyre. We both walked into the dark room, we know that Blaise would be hiding in the darkness and all we could hear was the sound of our footsteps echo in the room.
With a clap sound, candle that were around the room suddenly lit up. He was standing in the in the middle of the room. The room was filled with rows and rows of chairs that all pointed to a big plate that was put up not too long ago. The candles were placed in the area to commemorate the pokemon and the people who had died.
"You couldn't stop me, nor could you have defeated me the last time we fought each other, what makes you think you'll stand a chance this time too?" Blaise asked with an overconfident tone. "We will do what we can to ensure that you don't see those orbs again" I shouted. "This won't play out like last time, Blaise. We've grown both older and stronger" Liza added. Blaise flicked his cape and he surprised us with what he did next. He set himself on fire and as the flames extinguished, he vanished from sight. We both ran to the centre of the room and the flames on the candles flickered, drawing our attention to the back. We could hear his laughing, which didn't make sense. Why would he still be around when he just got past us? This was his best opportunity and chance to escape with the orbs. More candles in the room flickered and we both kept looking around for him moving. Each time we turned our heads there was a figure moving just out of the corner of our eyes and just out of sight. Little to our knowledge at the time, the room was slowly getting hotter than it should have been possible. The rows of chairs bend as I look to them longer, I thought this was strange until I noticed the heat getting to overwhelming levels. I could hardly breath and my vision was becoming covered with heat waves. Everything seemed to bend and sway with the heat. I don't know what to do when everything was moving like this. Everything blurred together and distinguishing a rock from a person or even a flickering flame became one of the toughest challenges at this moment.
I heard footsteps behind me and there I saw Blaise standing there, standing with a smirk and was mocking me. I wondered how I could have seen him so clearly and I noticed it. "Where is my sister, Liza?" I shouted and he didn't say anything, he let his Slugma attack, and I used psychic on him. Blaise seemed to be pushed back. I was surprised when he fell back, the sound he made wasn't as big of a thud as I would have expected. Was the heat messing with my hearing as well as my sight? I continued to look around for my twin, but I just couldn't find her and when I saw him, he was moving a lot slower than before. My sight was blurry, but I did see something move behind me, feeling optimistic I asked "Liza, are you there?" I didn't hear a reply and my confusion continued. When the figure became clearer, I saw another Blaise standing behind me. I was trapped between two of the same people. Then seemed to attack and I shouted "use psychic again" the figure behind me moved out of the way and the Slugma they had attacked. I held my arms over myself to block them and the flames spread over my arms, burning through my robe and burnt my arms heavy. I cried out in pain and fell to the ground, everything was spinning, and the blurry vision wasn't subsiding in any way, the effects wasn't getting weaker. In fact, the blurry vision was only getting stronger, occasionally would I actually see someone and that someone being Blaise. What can I do? What should I do? And, most importantly, where is Liza?
