The Fall of Guardia
Kiro had found the Grand Leon sword waiting for someone to take it. He went forward his hand reaching towards it. "Kiro what the hell?!" shouted Max. Kiro yelped jumping a few feet in the air and summoning his Keyblade upon swinging his body around. When he saw who it was, he dismissed it.
"If I don't take this Sword everything will be lost! We don't-"Kiro argued loudly only for Zidane to cut him off with a bop to the head.
"Marle's gonna let us take it. But you'd know that if you had stayed two seconds to hear. She was so upset about hearing about the Dream Devourer. That she said we could take it almost immediately!" Zidane scolded. Kiro gasped and thought back.
He was nine years old cold and alone. He ran around the strange town screaming and crying for his mom and dad. He felt anxiety and fear filling his heart. It wasn't until someone appeared. "What are you doing running around screaming and disturbing the peace?" he heard a voice growl. He turned to see a man glaring at him.
"My Parents are gone I was kidnapped and they came to rescue me! My Kidnapper tried to kill me and-"
"Oh I know," Corrum replied. "I saw the whole thing, how much of a coward you are, surrendered to that goon in the cloak."
Kiro replayed the memories in his head, it was as he said. "They're gone because of me…"
"Not dead," Corrum assured. "But suffering greatly and it is your fault, because you used them as meat shield."
"I never meant for that to happen!" Kiro cried. "Please, please help me save them I'll do anything!" Kiro begged getting on his knees and bowing his head.
"You need the power of waking. It's the only way to save them. But a wee thing like you it could take years and who knows how long they'll hold out." Corrum sighed insincerely.
"I'll do anything to learn it as fast as I can! I have to make it up to them I'll do anything!" Kiro begged.
"Well, lucky for you I know the Power of Waking, but you'll need to work hard no distractions. No contact with family or wasting time, understood."
Kiro nodded before following him.
"I'm so stupid I'm doing it again. I got anxious and scared that I proceed to screw up immensely…" he muttered as everyone came in. "I'm sorry!" he said with a sob.
"Kiro," Marle's voice said as he looked up. She only seemed disappointed; Kiro hung his head, not wanting to keep eye contact because somehow that was worse. "I understand my father can be very stubborn. But he's scared, of the Grand Leon. A few months ago it was stolen, by a couple of goons from other worlds."
"What did they look like?" Walter asked.
"One was a big fat cat in a blue jump suit," Said Lucca. "The other was in a yellow outfit and looked like a rat."
"Mortimer and Pete," Eraqus growled. "Why would they have wanted the sword?"
"No idea," Marle replied. "We got it back, but when we did and I touched it. It felt Darker for some reason. Daddy summoned the one who made it Melchior, he said that the sword wasn't infallible and more contact with evil hearts would sway the sword to power those who are evil instead."
"Better not let me hold it then…" Kiro muttered shamefully.
"You're not a bad person Kiro. You just made a bad decision." Zidane assured. Kiro nods looking up. They suddenly heard rapid footsteps. Chrono burst in.
"I heard screaming down here what's going on!?" he gasped looking around a bit dumbfounded.
"Relax we took care of it." Lucca assured.
"So you're not even going to tell me what happened?" he asked.
"Nope," Lucca replied cheekily as Marle giggled. Chrono pouted.
"Fine don't tell me, I'll just be the dummy in the situation." He muttered hotly, as Kiro suddenly felt energy build-up aiming for the back of his head. He gasped and put up a shield as a Dark Firaga blasted it knocking him forward onto his face. He groaned getting up.
"Magus!" Marle cried.
"Magus what the hell!?" Chrono shouted. Magus looked at them unfazed.
"I don't know how you know my name, but I'm not going to let you get in my way." He muttered.
"What!?" Lucca shouted. "How can you not remember what happened to you!?"
"You have to remember we fought against each other! And then against Lavos." Chrono shouted.
"Lavos….." Magus said the name seemed to have an effect on him. He barred his teeth clenching his teeth. "I don't know what that name is, But I'll destroy it after destroying that boy." He growled summoning his scythe.
Chrono rushed out pulling out a sword that glimmered with several different colors. He blocked the Scythe as it came down. "Magus what are you doing why are you attacking Kiro?!" he growled.
"That boy is a threat to Maleficent, not just in potential. But in juxtaposition to the Thorn Knight." Magus growled. "I have no memory of you. So my Conflict is not with you. His life is the Price to reclaim my memories."
"You're memories are gone?!" Chrono gasped only to get a burst of Shadow in the gut making him fly back into the air.
"Chrono!" Marle said healing him instantly. "Try to remember Schala! She wouldn't want you to kill someone innocent for her sake! Please try to remember her!"
"Schala….." Magus muttered. He groaned holding his head unleashing a burst of Darkness that had blinded everyone. When it cleared Magus had disappeared.
"Something happened….Whatever happened it's connected to Lavos being in the Realm of Sleep now…" Eraqus deduced.
"I'll start looking into memory restoration. If we can restore his memories for free I'll add. He'll see no reason to work with this Maleficent anymore." Lucca replied.
"Okay, Kiro in the mean time you should take the sword and find the next wielder." Marle said.
"We can probably avoid corrupting it if the most good among us holds it." Walter suggested.
"That's actually not a bad idea." Max hummed. Nanaki nodded in agreement his eyebrows rising at the idea. Magical weapons were sensitive to ones vibes so it made sense.
"Well, I vote Eraqus carry it back to wherever we're going. He's usually got a stick up his butt about stuff anyway." Takeshi said teasingly Eraqus responded with a slap upside the head Takeshi yelped in pain glaring at the older boy as he looked away innocently.
"What about Chrono?" Zidane asked.
"We already tried; I know the blade glows when its true wielder finds it. But…" Chrono trailed off before sighing. "It'd be so easy to go back in time and get him for this, but the Time Machine we used has disappeared."
"Maybe tell us what your friend who used it was like, that might give us an idea of what to look for." Amei suggested.
"Okay, well, Frog- Err no Glenn, was a very virtuous soul. He had a strong code of honor, hurting others broke his heart. In a way he was kind of a pacifist but that didn't stop him from fighting when needed. Once we helped him find his way and forgive himself He was one of the most powerful allies and greatest friends I could ever ask for. Surprisingly he spared Magus' life when they all blamed him for my death." Chrono replied.
"Even I was shocked." Marle admitted.
"That definitely narrows it down at least. Maybe my dad could wield it?" Kiro suggested. "We'd have to find him first." He hissed in remembrance of the fact Sora was missing.
"We'll figure it out," Zidane assured, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You never know the wielder might be right here in this room."
Kiro nodded smiling. It was then though that a loud sound was heard making Kiro yelp and cover his ears he then suddenly was thrown off his feet by a sudden powerful tremor, "earthquake!?"
They suddenly heard shouting as soldiers were running up and down the halls. They had been grabbing all sorts of weapons. Their blood running cold, as the horrible realization hit them. Guardia was under attack!
Immediately the entire group was following, Chrono, Lucca and Marle to the throne room. The King was surprised to see Kiro and Co. But merely only gave a disapproving glare before softening.
"Daddy what's going on?!" Marle asked.
"It's Porre, they're attacking us, with some unknown assailant at command known as Dalton." The King replied.
"Dalton!?" Kiro yelped squeaking a bit.
"I didn't think he'd be able to follow up on that threat…." Chrono growled. Lucca looked horrified this was one of the Consequences she feared. Kiro could sense that. But now was the time to do something about it.
"Your majesty; let us help you fight them off!" Kiro shouted.
"No," the King said with a deep sigh, "Their army is unlike any we've seen before, and they won't accept surrender." He said to the shock and horror of everyone.
"We need to evacuate the city," the King said. "You have your orders, now go!" he said.
Kiro glanced back where the sword was he would come back for it as soon as he could and rushed out. Monsters and various soldiers had littered the area fire seemed to be springing up by itself. A blue blur was causing destruction everywhere as were red blasts.
"We need to work quickly." Lucca growled. There were several roars as invading monsters Kiro recognized from Dalton's fortress in interspace suddenly began to flood in.
"Guys look!" he shouted pointing. "Those are the monsters from the Fortress we were taken too!"
"That means, Dalton's behind this!?" Chrono said with a loud groan. "Of all the people to be having to run from!" he whined before straightening himself up. I need to fight off the monsters."
"We'll help you!" Max stated Takeshi looked a bit nervous but nodded. Walter nodded as well as they ran off.
"Eraqus, Raian, we need to clear a path to the boats. Can you help me and Marle?" Lucca asked.
"We're with you!" Eraqus stated.
"What do we do?" Kiro asked.
"Gather as many citizens as you can including the Children and get them to the Docks, hopefully we'll have cleared a path by then," Lucca replied.
"Got it!" Zidane replied as they rushed off in different directions. Takeshi, Chrono Max and Walter turned to the invading monsters. He summoned Fearless Drive a Keyblade with a burst of Fire for the shaft with a burst of Sparkles at the end for the teeth. The jewel Jonathan had left for his wife was the handguard while vines and roots made up the Hand guards.
"Okay guys make your attacks count!" Takeshi shouted casting Shell and Protect to raise the groups' defense with Walter casting Omni-Boost as Max charged in with a Spin kick, break dancing in a way that damaged enemies.
Takeshi fired off Thundegas as much as he could as Chrono used falcon slash on several Imps before Walter unleashed 1000 needles, on several Blue Scouters. Max had used Rocket Punch on a Blubber Hulk knocking it back.
It crashed into several that Chrono took down with Luminescence. He then landed a kick in a black bat that was about to bite into his neck. Takeshi was landing quick stabs for chip damage on a Blubber Hulk that Max was trying to take down. Eventually a good blast from Walter took it out. He then had his scroll and brush glow copying a move. "Tantrum Stomp!" He shouted clearing away several Blubber Hulks with a flurry of small quakes.
"Nice work." Takeshi noted as Chrono rushed forward using his Cyclone attack and kill several mushroom monsters he called Amanitas. As he several more small mooks began to rush towards them.
"Well at least they'll be easy to deal with…." Takeshi growled.

Meanwhile Lucca, Raian and Eraqus were rushing as fast as they could to the docks. When they got there, they had seen several small Heartless had plastered themselves to the sides of the ships. They were small and metallic like lady bugs that had flashing spots. Eraqus immediately summoned his Keyblade.
"Magnega!" he shouted a large silvery and gold pull suddenly appeared in the air with blue and red orbs on opposite sides of each other. Several of them were pulled off towards the circle sensing the danger they suddenly exploded. A ship sustained massive damage while the three were blown a few feet across the docks. "They're bombs!" Raian cried.
"We need to be careful," Eraqus replied casting sleep on several before bashing them off hard. Lucca began unleashing Hypno-Wave that caused several Lady Bombs to fall. She then killed them with a few eagle eyed shots from her gun as Raian quickly stabbed and threw several off into the sky.
Several began to blink faster and Raian rushed quickly with his spear stabbing several and throwing them with one good swing out towards the water as quickly as he could.
"Ms. Lucca!" a Solider called.
"You're here! The Ships have been secure one has sustained massive damage but guard the remaining three we can use the damaged one as a decoy." Lucca replied immediately.
"Ma'am!" they responded.
"Wait where's Marle!?" Raian cried out. Lucca looked around horrified.
"She's gone after the Grand Leon Sword!"

"Water!" Kiro shouted unleashing a burst of water as instructed by Amei and Nanaki getting his water spell back as he worked to put out several fires. With Lucca's charges gathered around them. As well as several other citizens as they directed several to the docks. Zidane had rushed in leading several out of a market place.
"Get to the Docks! That's where we're evacuating." Zidane shouted. They nodded making their way screaming and crying towards the south of the city. Nanaki was leading them there killing any Shadow Heartless that, were in their path. Suddenly another Lady-Bomb had exploded causing a large amount of rubble to fall towards the citizens that Nanaki had been leading. They screamed as Kiro jumped up.
"Please Work…Quake!" He shouted slamming his Keyblade into the large slab of debris it vibrated with a brown aura before bursting into tiny rubble. He sighed in relief hitting the ground. Thankful he was able to use it just now. He suddenly saw Marle running back towards the castle. "Marle?"
"Where is she going?" Amei asked.
"I think she's going back for the sword, but she could be killed!" Zidane muttered. "Dalton will probably either capture her or kill her to keep any rivals off the throne. Or force him to make her his queen."
"I'm going after her you guys take care of the citizens!" Kiro cried racing ahead.
"Kiro wait!" Zidane shouted but it was too late he was gone.

Kiro had found his way back to the secret entrance of the castle making his way inside, he had been taking out Bell Birds black bats and the like as he used an ether, on himself to keep his magic up. He had an idea of where Marle would go. She was going back for the Grand Leon Sword. Especially if she was so upset about it, he made his way through the tunnels. Making his way to where he found the sword.
As he did he suddenly heard shouting. "Blizzaga!" Shouted Marle's voice, Kiro ran to it as fast as he could. He rushed in, in time to see Marle and King Guardian standing between Dalton and the Grand Leon Sword.
"Why fight my dear," Dalton cooed taking her hand gentle going to kiss it. "You could be my queen and-GAHHH!" Dalton shouted as Marle had punched him in his bad eye making his recoil with a bit of howl of pain.
"I'm married, you one eyed jerk!" She growled. Dalton glared at her casting cure on himself.
"Then I have no use for you, hand over the sword." Dalton hissed.
"No way!" she shouted unleashing a magic arrow from her cross bow. Dalton blocked it.
"I am a Master Wizard! You think you're puny magic can defeat me!?" he growled as he rushed forward. Kiro rushed forward with a Power slash slashing Dalton in the back making him turn on the boy. "You!"
Kiro glared. "Kiro take the sword and go!" Marle shouted.
"No not without you, if something happens to your dad the Kingdom will need you and Chrono!" Kiro shouted. Kiro was also pretty sure she was a Current Princess of Heart. The strong light that was what he was told set others apart. Namine was a Princess of Heart. And, he felt that same light from all of them. He had to get her out of here. The world couldn't survive if one of them died!
"If she can't beat me without her friends, what makes you think, you have a chance boy!?" Dalton sneered with an evil chuckle.
Kiro dodged a few spells trying to get a few Sleep Strikes in but Dalton grabbed his blade throwing him around. Kiro managed to land on his feet. Using Flow-Motion to try and land a strike as Marle cast Haste on Kiro he managed to land another Sleep Strike before landing a kick in Dalton's mouth knocking him back a bit before landing on his feet and rushing for the Sword same with Marle. However large vines rushed up from the ground. These weren't natural and they began to squeeze the two hard like Pythons preparing their prey for consumption.
"What….magic….is…this!" Kiro forced out between gasps.
"Vineza, I doubt those cowards would've taught it to you. With how cruel it can be, now you two have fun I'll be claiming my prize now."
"FLARE!" Shouted a voice the vines were burned away causing Kiro and Marle to cough as they gasped for air as Dalton was yelping and trying to stomp out the fire that had caught on his cape. There standing in the door way was King Guardia.
"Daddy!" Marle shouted.
"Get away from her!" Guardia growled. "Boy, take them and go!" King Guardia shouted as Zidane, Amei, Raian and Chrono appeared.
"But what about you!?" Kiro shouted as Chrono rushed to Marle's side.
"Forget me that Idiot must not have the Sword and must have a Rival to the throne. Marlene must take it the minute he falls." Guardia growled.
"She'll be waiting a long time old man!" he shouted unleashing another Vineza but Guardia countered with a fire shield. He glared as Marle was helped up by Chrono and Amei.
"Marlene go!" Guardia shouted.
"I can't leave you!" Marle shouted. "We've beaten him before we can-"
"He's stronger than he was before…." Chrono muttered. "Somethings very different," He hissed she stared in horror and tried to blast him with a bunch of Blizzaga spells and Blizzard arrows. Managing to wrench herself out of Chrono's grasp and try to help her father as Kiro regained his own footing he rushed forward and the two tried to attack him. He was followed by Amei unleashing her own Vinera but Dalton smirked summoning Refleza and sending them back into the wall. The Blast had caught everyone else sending them back as well.
"What's going on you weren't this tough before!" Chrono snarled. Dalton smirked it was then everyone noticed for the first time Gems in his outfit two different shapes seven round one's going around his chest to keep his cape in place. And Seven Hexagon shaped ones in his armor.
"Let's just say I've had a bit of a power-up." He said picking up the Grand Leon Sword however the King had charged magic power in his staff and aimed it for Dalton's head. However he quickly muttered Hasteza and moved out of the way unsheathing the Grand Leon sword and driving it deep into Guardia's chest. He let out a choked sound as his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Everyone screamed in horror. Marle lost it trying to attack Dalton screaming and crying forcing Chrono to pick her up and carry her away.
She was screaming but Kiro didn't hear everything was silent around him as he stared in horror. He just felt numb but something was bubbling inside of him suddenly the next thing he knew he let out a roar and ran leaping at Dalton punching and biting him as Dalton struggled to throw the boy off his back.
"Grrenggg get off me brat!" he shouted trying to wrestle Kiro off his back as tumbled a bit the sword had fallen to the ground. Kiro jumped for it but was dragged back by Dalton Kiro responded by charging up electricity in his right hand to slam right into Dalton's face however Dalton had easily swatted the arm away making Kiro lose focus but he didn't care he tried clawing Dalton's face as the man punched the boy back. Kiro hit the ground and jumped up ferly for a bite during the tussle however the small times they touched the sword seemed to add up. A Dark smoky sludge appeared beneath them there was an explosion of energy from the sword blowing them back. Dalton rushed for the sword as it began to sink.
"NO!" he shouted diving for it but it had disappeared with the Darkness dissipating causing Dalton to slam his head into the hard stone floor. He growled getting up and looked around. He saw Kiro getting up and grabbed the boy by the neck sealing them in a barrier as he began to strangle Kiro who had dropped his Keyblade and was clawing desperate at his hands to no avail. Everyone was screaming trying to break their way inside. However as Kiro was about to pass out a bright light shone from his earring Jade with a loud demonic hiss launched herself at Dalton's face clawing it wildly as he screamed trying to get her off she charged up an attack a bright teal light crackling with Electricity Dalton had been shocked badly causing the barrier fall as Zidane and Amei rushed in grabbing Kiro out cold on the floor and Jade who let out an injured whine as they took off in the light.
"Let's go hurry!" Raian shouted as he unleashed another burst of Thundera magic to keep Dalton stunned and blinded as they escaped. Dalton groaned crackling off electricity. He soon recovered and straightened himself up looking around. The group was gone. He stood up. None of it mattered the Kingdom was his he calmly walked out to the front of the castle where the Red and gold shield depicting a Dragon was replaced with a blood red flag with the silhouette of a Dragon on it. He smirked. He had done it as said. Those fools were idiots to dismiss him and they had paid the price.

Kiro groaned he gasped rushing up to his feet, "the sword!" He shouted looking around.
"Gone," Zidane muttered sadly. Kiro felt his blood run cold. He hung his head as Jade nuzzled him trying to comfort him.
"I should've grabbed them and ran; maybe they would've just captured him if I had just listened! Now we've lost the sword." Kiro moaned.
"We'll find it," Eraqus assured. "It went through a Dark Corridor it has to be out there somewhere."
"The adults will help too they're still hope I promise!" Raian added. Kiro nodded trying to have faith in those words. While he wasn't as confident the only other option was to give up and wait for death.
He nodded looking around at the people who were crying over the loss of their home. Their loved ones, especially Marle, Chrono, was holding her tightly comforting her.
"We'll be back to save Guardia…" Kiro muttered. "We owe it to them, we have to come back! And I need to right the wrong I made of being too weak!"
"We'll search for it here in secret." Lucca said referring to her; and a few others. "For now we need to figure out a refugee camp."
"I can get you a Phone we'll keep each other posted!" Walter said handing her a Gummi Phone. "Dalton doesn't know about them so it's totally safe just uh; make sure to be quiet obviously."
"Good thinking Walter." Max assured. Kiro could feel the hope around him. He wanted desperately to have it enter his heart.
Special attacks and spells
Vinera: The Second level of the Vine spell binds a foe and does 1/8 of their health while squeezing them.
Vineza: The Most powerful level of the Vine Spell. Does of a foe's health while causing Daze
Luminesce: One of Chrono's most powerful spells unleashes a huge burst of light that blasts enemies.
Spin Kick: One of Max's special attacks does a break down that lands a good few feet in the faces and butts of foes
Water: A Spell that unleashes a small burst of water that explodes in a small radius around enemies
Quake: A Spell that shakes up foes causing a good amount of damage and may cause daze
Magnega: The Third level of the Magnet spells, unleashes a powerful pulling force that pulls enemies helplessly towards the user.
Hypno-Wave:One of Lucca's special attacks unleashes a powerful wave that puts foes into Daze or sleep.
Flare: A Very powerful fire spell that sears the opponent in a searing wave of fire
Tantrum Stomp: A Flurry of Quakes that injures and dazes the opponents.
Cyclone: One of Chrono's special attack; he spins around rapidly slicing and dicing foes like an actual cyclone
Sleep Strike: An attack that causes damage and puts the target to sleep
Surging Beryl: An attack of Jade's that unleashes an intense amount of electricity, damages foes for 1/8 of their health and stuns them
Fire Shield: A version of the Shield ability where the shield is laced in fire magic
Heartless Profiles
Lady-Bombs: Mechanical bomb like Heartless in the shape of Lady Bugs they gather in swarms landing and sticking to people and things to explode get them off quickly or they'll blow you up!
Mortimer: One of Maleficent's Cronies. He had tricked Raian a few years ago into poisoning Mickey fortunately the adults were able to fix the problem and he was kicked out of Disney Town since then he's teamed up with Pete and Maleficent he wants Minnie and the Crown. But he'll never get it! Unfortunately Raian's had a few trust issues since. Mickey's Rival 1936
Frog/Glenn: The Original Wielder of the Grand Leon Sword; a Kind, Virtuous,pacifist who fought for justice. And had a long standing feud with Magus but ultimately spared him when they had been grieving Chrono. I definitely don't have the strength to do that. So we can rule me out as the next potential wielder. He also helped to take down Lavos five years ago. Chrono Trigger 1995
And that's that now this might be what one could consider a season finale as I'm moving soon but I hope to be able to at least work on chapters until I get into a new house and the internet is set back up
