When Lucy and Evergreen got back to the camp, they found Laxus on the communication lacrima with Master. They Laxus put the lacrima down and said, "Minerva was caught attacking Rune nights. She is currently in custody; Master has removed the order to work in assigned groups. Lucy it is up to you if you'd like to finish the job or if you would rather rejoin your team back at the guild." Lucy was understandably surprised by the news, "I will stay and finish the job. After all we are Fairy Tail, we never quit."
The group grinned at the blonde mage but Laxus just frowned at her response. The lightning mage began to talk seriously to the group, "I don't know about you all but I am ready to finish this. Freed, what do you think our best plan is to get this done today?"
Freed began to explain a theory he had, "I read somewhere once that during mating season is the only time Vulcans ban together in this fashion. It seems that during this time the females search for suitable breeding grounds once a location is picked males will follow the scent trails left by females, for hundreds of miles to reach her. I believe we have found this year's current breeding grounds. I suggest that we deem this area unsuitable to the female Vulcan so that they move on to higher ground.
Lucy asked, "First, how do we tell which is the female? Second, what makes an acceptable breeding ground to these creatures?" Freed explained all the answers to the blonde's questions. Bickslow, Evergreen, and Draco went to scout the area where the Vulcans were nesting. The others began packing up camp while waiting for the scouts to return. Laxus pulled the celestial mage to the side while Freed was focused elsewhere. "Lucy, now that the group assignments are over, I know you will want to go back to your team," the lightning mage paused trying to find the right words. Laxus sighed and Lucy just smiled encouragingly, "When we go home, I don't want to go back to our separate lives… I mean… DAMN." Lucy held back a laugh as she spoke, "when we get home let's go on another mission sometime, ok?"
Laxus nodded his agreement and quickly went back to work. I'm glad she didn't read more into what I said. This is ridiculous! Why all of a sudden can I not hold a simple conversation with her? Stupid dragon urges! Just tell me!? He heard nothing from his magic. By the time Draco returned with Evergreen and Bickslow the camp was completely packed. The brunette pulled a lacrima out and showed everyone photos of the nest. The pictures showed a large clearing, large fruit baring trees surrounding the area, with a large creek running through the center. Vulcans filled every image, only one was covered in multi colored fur. They agreed on an attack plan and set out to finish the job.
