That's it. That was what she heard him calling her in dreams. Bonnie watched him being more careful then. She didn't have to touch and read him to know he was sad. His eyes, even though the light was barely falling on his features, conveyed which he couldn't voice out.

He appeared humane for a moment over there, sitting in her backyard in soothening silence.

"My little flower."

He repeated, and swallowed his sorrow.

She waited and waited for him to continue, but nothing came out of his mouth. He missed whoever his little flower was.

"What she was like?" she tried not to appear too intrigued.

Kol searched for her face, and regarded her like an answer. She frowned slightly at his paleness.

Again, another swallow.

Then he replied. "Too pure."

Bonnie blinked in surprise at his response.

"Quite talented," a smile twitched on his face. "Never played by rules.

Beautiful." He sang the latter.

Bonnie returned the smile. There was another moment of silence with him staring into her eyes, and she at him.

"What did you see when you touched me?"

She shrugged looking away. "It wasn't crystal clear. There was so much to process, and…"

"The truth," he was dangerously quiet.

Bonnie took lungful of air. "I felt blurry images against darkness. Then there was some light." She paused. "You turned it off for years, didn't you?" Something flashed in his dark eyes. Although she didn't receive any answer, she figured it out. "She was changing you, yes?"

She was walking on risky, thin line. Yet she didn't care. Kol's gaze was boring holes into the ground.

"Or maybe I enjoyed being a monster." Slowly he turned to her, he had abominable look in his eyes that sent chills down her spine. "Or maybe I killed her, you wouldn't know."

After one heartbeat of silence the witch shook her head as no. "You didn't."

Kol's wicked smile vanished gradually, then he brushed stare upon the surroundings. "What is your story?"

"My story?" she raised a brow.

"Born into one of the most powerful line of witches," he spoke for her. All of sudden their conversation wasn't intense. "The Original Hybrid itself is pretty much thrilled to deal with you personally. Must have taken pleasure being the only witch in the town, and having your friends kiss the ground you walk."

Bonnie actually laughed at that. Bitterly maybe.

"Powerful family of witches, yes, but I hardly agree with friends part. It is more like I'm trying to protect them, or…" being dragged into the shit she would not even ask for. Rest of the words were cut off. He did not need to listen to all of it.

"And your brother," she breathed out in exhaustion, "Klaus has this nasty way of meddling with lives. No offence, but your entire family," she didn't hesitate as she went on. "It was really peaceful before vampires set feet in this town. First Stefan, and then Damon…" she groaned, "Everything went down the hill."

Bonnie watched the stars, as the corner of her lips twisted. "You know, what is the worst part? I will never know when this will come to an end, and how."

She was talking to Kol, and that completely slipped off her mind until she looked back at his observant face.

"You spoke freely, and surprised me."

Surprise? He barely moved in his place.

"And your dreams?" he was getting to the part.

Bonnie became inconvenient. "What about it?"

Kol chuckled. "You nagged me for days, and now you pretend as if it was nothing."

The witch didn't dare looking at him as she said. "I heard the voice, yours, before I even met you. It was singing to me. I'm confused, but it guided me many times."

His silence bothered her even more. Then he dismissed coolly. "It could be the spirits. Their ways are vexing I tell you."

"I could tell the difference, Kol. It wasn't the spirits talking to me." Bonnie shot back sharply. "Little flower, I heard the voice saying to me."

She could have felt his frame go rigid after that. Minutes passed, none of them uttered a word. Then he got up to his feet, and walked away silently as if she wasn't there.

That's all. No words, he simply left while Bonnie gritted her teeth.

Just like she was expecting Bonnie's mother wasn't thrilled to hear Esther's plan.

"That family is bad news."

But if that was what the ancestors were wishing, they had to do it.

During day time, Bonnie met her friends discussing about the plan to take down the Originals. She felt like she was betraying, when Bonnie thought about Kol.

Betraying whom exactly? Herself, her friends or Kol?

It was wrong, completely wrong.

Almost in the evening she and her mother arrived at the ritual spot. Esther and the oldest brother greeted them. Even though the Original witch explained things to the Bennetts, Bonnie hardly focused upon the words. However, she got outline of the plan.

She had to keep presence of her mind.

A ruthless suggestion she had given to herself: Kol was going to vanish in sometime.

Yes, there wasn't going to be any memory of him. Oh, that was what she thought while touching the pendant he made for his little flower.

Her insides twisted from sickness. She wasn't feeling really good. It felt like she was almost…

Abby lost conscious and Finn acted fast. "We have to move her inside," he declared turning to his mother, who simply nodded.

When his mother offered a chance to be family, Kol suspected she was upto something.

Of course, Esther was their mother. She would always have plans.

This time she wanted to destroy what she had created centuries ago.

Kol remembered how Ayanna warned Esther about consequences on that day of execution of her spell of immortality, vampirism.

Had they asked for it? No. None of the Original siblings pleaded their parents to turn them into the monsters they were.

On that day no one dared to rebel.

On this day no one was going to have it in her way, once again.

Elijah maintained his cool, and so was Kol. Rebekah was pissed off, and disappointed.

Kol couldn't help but smirk at Nik's fury. If the Hybrid was given another chance to rip of their mother's heart out, he would have done it without blink.

But it was Elijah who threatened those baby Salvatores into stopping the Bennett witches.

Kol wasn't surprised to hear that even. Bonnie made it obvious when she was asked about meeting with his mother.

That little witch...

A smile ghosted on his face while walking to the circle of salt his mother created and lit with torches at the corners of pentagram. Kol was certain they wouldn't die tonight, but after dealing with his mother he wanted to pay small visit to that little witch.

Something terrible would happen, it was her gut feeling.

Bonnie looked around the abandoned mansion. Someone did enter the place.

Even after an hour, Bonnie couldn't able to feel all right. Was it because of Esther channeling her power, or it was due to not having proper meal for a day almost?

And, above all, her gut feeling was something terrible would happen.

Abby hadn't regained her conscious till now. She was only getting her powers back, but Esther wanted to channel her magic even. So, the mama Bennett couldn't take it.

When she was searching, Bonnie came across her least favourite Salvatore.

"Bon-Bon." He greeted with slightly disconcerting look, and smile that never reached his eyes.

"What are you doing here?" She demanded. "What's going on, Damon?"

Stefan was there, too. He stared at unconsciously lying body of Abby, and exchanged looks with his brother.

"Rebekah has Elena," Stefan informed quietly.

"Why?"

"Definitely this is no right time for explanations."

Before she was getting to point what it was all about, Damon acted in impulse: fed his blood to Bonnie and snapped her neck.

Something terrible happened in her life.

Bonnie sat over boulder, glaring at waters close to Mystic Falls.

No amount of words could explain what she was going through. What she treasured was lost, what she had taken pride in was no longer with her.

Humanity and magic.

She was nothing without them.

What she loathed, she had become that.

A vampire.

With heightened senses, she heard someone's footsteps in close proximity. Grinding her teeth, she remembered how she had yelled at everyone and attacked who had come in her path after transformation.

"I'm so sorry, Bonnie!" Elena's pleas echoed in the living room of Boarding house. "This is all my fault."

Bonnie growled at Stefan's figure, while Caroline tried to calm down her newly transformed friend. "Bonnie, I know how you are feeling now." The blonde touched her arm to comfort. Bonnie shoved her hand, and lunged at Stefan. Caroline stopped her again. "Don't let those emotions get to your head!"

"Emotions?" Bonnie screeched with water in her eyes. "Caroline, you have any idea what happened with me? I'm killed! There's nothing left for me!"

Clever of them for not letting Damon anywhere in her presence. Else, by now things would have gotten out of her control.

Stefan gave an apologetic shrug. "I'm sorry."

"You think your apologies would fix this." She asked before her vampire form surfaced. Once she regained composure she added. "Your apologies would get me my old self?" Caroline curled around her shoulder, as Bonnie gave her look of disdain. "Everyone here knew I would prefer death over this curse."

"Unfortunately, some of us like to have you around," Damon said while entering.

Bonnie closed her eyes, her nostrils flared before she reached for nearest thing that was available. Hurling lamp at him she growled.

It missed.

"You shouldn't have come." Elena suggested in low voice.

Damon huffed at Bonnie who was held back by Stefan and Caroline. "Quit this, Bonnie." He dared to step in her direction. "You think I loved to bring this upon you?"

A bitter smile was her response as she spat at him. "I bet. You are good at it, Damon, ruining things for everyone. For me."

Something flashed in his eyes for one second, and then it was gone.

Bonnie was still furious, but she freed herself from their grasp. Breathing in and out heavily she declared to everyone. "Don't come for me."

It was too much for her; she was overwhelmed and felt absolutely helpless.

The ache in her throat wasn't letting her think straight. Bonnie fed on Elena out of blood lust, only she finished transformation. Those moments put her to shame that she couldn't look into her friend's eyes.

She hated herself.

Caroline wanted to help Bonnie once, but she let her go when she was told to leave her alone for some time.

Now someone was behind her, despite her demanding to be left alone.

Turning around, she found least expected face.

Kol.

The moonlight revealed his features, calm like the water in front of her. He didn't smile, he didn't pass snarky comment on her recent situation.

He watched her as if grasping every detail of her face.

Bonnie looked back at water, "Came here to mock at my misery?"

He didn't reply as he closed the distance and sat beside her on boulder. Minutes went in silence and her blood was boiling inside. Slowly her anger melted and came out in the form of tears.

Kol was quiet until she looked at him.

"I came to say goodbye." He informed with narrowed eyes.

No look of pity, no comforting words to trigger her. He stared at her like he knew what she was going through, but chose not to comment on that.

"To someone who could miss me terribly."

Bonnie was rigid, as her eyes burned more. Tears of frustration crept down to her cheeks, and she looked away.

"How did it make you feel to know how your family was saved from doom?" Her voice trembled with hatred and anger. Esther and Finn had escaped after their plan failed. Here she was—facing consequences for helping them.

He sighed. "Shame to have your abilities go wasted, but you will be around for longer."

Tease in his words could have let her lose control. However, it was no use to yell at and fight him.

"I was there in your place." Kol's gaze was in front of him the entire time. "Losing something part of you is not easy, but once you moved past that…"

Bonnie scoffed. "I'm glad you are here to suggest me what am I supposed to do with my new potential."

"Careful with the tone, little witch." He didn't change his pet name for her, despite her predicament. "And I will be happy to beat you into proper shape."

The baby vampire gritted her teeth. Of course, he would volunteer.

"Only you have to ask." He crooned sweetly in her ear, and the heat in her cheeks rose.

She was not to feel anything now, but her traitorous body was pathetic. After that he was on his feet with a smirk she wanted to wipe off. He knew it, how disoriented was she.

Before she could prevent, words slipped out of her mouth. "You're leaving, why?"

"Honestly, you think I will settle down for this place." He questioned back.

Bonnie's mood was changing unknowingly. "It is beautiful town," she defended.

"Centuries ago it was my home, too." Kol reminded something that slipped from her head. He bent down to grab some pebbles. "I believe living in same place is like reading the same page over and over. If I'm stuck at one page, then what about an entire library out there?" He tossed one into water.

She had nothing to say after that. He stared at her for a bit, and then turned on his heel to leave her alone. Out of flooded thoughts, Bonnie picked up one.

That's when she stopped him; her decision was an act of impulse.

"You wouldn't mind company for some time?"

Kol's mouth was curved into smile, as mischief danced in his dark eyes. Surprisingly she could observe every detail.

"Not at all."
