Where have I been?

Greetings everyone. So, it's been a while since I've updated, hasn't it? I apologize for leaving you hanging for some time. I haven't been in the best headspace these past 2 months, so I decided to take some time off from writing for a while to regroup myself. I've had some time to rest, and I now feel ready to return to writing.

Although, there's a few things I would like to get off my mind.

First of all, I've realized that this fic is a much larger project than I had originally intended it to be. I had much different intentions back when I first started this fic in July. I admit that in the beginning, I was making most of the stuff up as I went along. I've read back through my fic last week and I found several parts that were clearly rushed to get published. I was younger back then, and at that time I was still new to writing fanfiction. I've only had an account for nearly 2 months at that point.

As I went on, I started thinking up several ideas for my fanfic. I started to develop a clear plot for my fanfic, and overtime, that plot grew and grew. I became very passionate about my story, and I wanted to make it as great as I possibly could. I gained skills over time from my writing and I became better. I edited back through to improve the weak parts of it.

Unfortunately, I became so focused on fixing the flaws of my fic that I sort of forgot why I was writing in the first place.

I tried editing the older chapters to match my new vision for the story, but It became so stressful that it started to bite at me. I got to a point where I became so stressed about it that I stopped editing all together. Not because I was lazy, but it was legitimately too much for me to handle.

Therefore, I realized that the only solution I have is to restart my fic altogether.

Yes, that means that this fic is being canned. I have already started working on the revised version which I hope to release very soon. The revised story will fix some of the following issues below.

- An overall restructure of the story and it's plot

- Improved punctuation and grammar

- A more creative usage of words

- More detail about locations, characters, lore etc.

I am also going to be taking my time with my fic this time around. I will proofread each chapter before posting to make sure everything is to my liking. I'll admit that I write this fic for my own pleasure, and everything included in it is targeted specifically for my tastes in writing. But I do want to make sure all you enjoy my fic as well, so I put in the effort 'cause I'm nice that way.

I'd also like to add that I will be keeping this fic up for the time being. I have a feeling that I will one day become nostalgic for the original story and I will want to check it out to see how much I have grown since the beginning.
