Episode 17 #Rage Cat/Furry little Monster.

(Metropolis Animal Shelter)
It's a sunny day for Jessica Cruz who was excited for today, why? 'It's Adopt-a-pet-day! What better day then giving my animal friends a new home and family!' Jess thought as she helps the shelter set the tables and decorations.
Though not everyone shared her enthusiasm as Dewey a worker their sighed "All right, team, gather round. [sighs] Okay. So today, we're gonna try to beat last year's goal and get... ...three pets adopted." he said despondently.
"Three? Why stop at three? I say we get all these pets adopted." Jess says before turning to her fellow volunteers and workers.
"Who is with me? Forever homes! Forever homes! Forever homes!" Jess chanted while everyone looked to her blankly "That's the spirit. Now... Let's house some pets."
"She isn't serious is she?" one of the worker said getting a shrug in response.
(During the adoption)
As everyone set the pets for adoption Jess placed a puppy on the stand then surveying the event before hyping her self as the people starts to come in looking for a new member to the families.
While everyone can hardly set some pets to a family but it was Jess who was finding homes for every pets like an old lady who was overwhelmed by her choices until Jess came in with a cute kitty much to the grannies delight.
Or a family with curly hairs and a family with straight hairs getting a toy poodle and a shih tzu respectively who loved the dogs.
Jess just nodded in satisfaction before seeing Garth who waved to her knowing how much the boy likes his fish friends she gave him a small fish for him to take care of much to Garth's joy.
A punk rocker man was looking around trying to find an animal that could jam with him Jess got his attention then showing a yellow crested cockatoo who looked bored, the man walked over getting the birds attention he then pulls out an i pod and starts to play a song hoping for a reaction and he got one when the bird starts to head bang getting the man to smile, seeing the connection Jess lift the bird then let it slide down the length of her arms and onto the man's shoulder.
A man with a bucket hat was asking for an animal he can chill with and Jess suggested a small family of tortoises getting a "Far out yah!".
It was like a blur Jess was on a roll she found families the pets they're looking for from the cuddly bunnies, to the scaly snakes and the mischievous ferrets she kept stamping forms and setting families with a happy pets.
Dewey was impressed as he check the clipboard showing they did adopt every animal on the list and then some "Wow, Jess. You've got a real gift for pairing animals with families."
Jess picks up a pet carrier and made her way up the stairs "Well, I believe there's a perfect owner for every pet. It's up to us to find them." she says before making her way inside to put the carrier away humming a happy tune, until the clattering sound spooked Jess a bit as she looks around "Hello?" Jess says as she made her to the sound looking into empty cages to find what made the noise.
Jess looked around before another clatter sound was heard behind her looking back she saw some caution tapes before looking down to see one cage not opened, kneeling down Jess tries to look inside before looking at the clipboard with various warnings written on it she flip the paper to get a name "Dexter. How did we miss you, sweetie?" she read before looking into the cage and before she could open it.
"Back away from that cage if you know what's good for you." Jess confused looks back to see the workers glaring at her.
"Wha... What?" Jess asked wondering why they stopped her.
One of the worker walks up and says "I used to think Dexter was sweet, too. [chuckles] [inhales deeply] Until the day I tried to feed him... ...dry cat food." then pulling down her sleeve to show her forearm riddled with bite and scratch marks.
Dewey then steps up "I called him Dexy. Big mistake." he said as he lift his shirt showing the same sight.
"Remember what happened when Monica touched his tail?" Another worker said before showing Monica hiding behind Dewey muttering kitty kitty under her breath looking very scarred.
Jess chuckled at the ridiculousness "Come on, you guys. He's just a cat."
Dewey disagrees "No! He's a bad cat. And besides, it's almost his... "time."" he said and implying what is going to happen to the cat much to Jess's horror, Dewey just sighed "Just leave it alone. Cruz..."
"Leave it alone?" Jess asked before looking determined "I don't know the meaning of the words." she says as she unlocked the cage getting the others to back away in horror as Jess reached into the cage.
The workers step further back after hearing a loud purr an angry purr "No! That purr! Everyone, run!" Monica panicked as the worker ran away.
Jess walked in holding a furry and angry long hair Russian Blue cat who glowers as he purrs aggressively "They don't understand you, Dexter, but I know you're a good cat." Jess says as she lays her head onto Dexter getting the cat to purr even more aggressively.
After fastening the harness on Dexter she made her way outside unintentionally dragging the irate feline behind her as she put posters for adoption, noticing a mother and son walking by Jess approach "Hi, there! Interested in a sweet, adorable, cuddly little kitty?" Jess asks.
The mother taken aback a bit but soon compose herself "Oh, I don't know. We're not much of an animal family." the mother says not sure if its a good idea.
"Well, having a cat like Dexter can teach your son all sorts of valuable life skills." Jess says then looking to the boy petting the cat "Aw, I think he likes you." Jess cooed before gasping as the boy grabbed the cats tail causing Dexter to go into a berserk state as he thrash about in a whirlwind of frenzied claws and snarls, all while Jess held him back before he could shred the parent and child who ran away scared "Wait! Please! Whoa!" Jess yelps as she was dragged by the cat as Dexter thrash through the decorations.
Unable to hold on Jess's grip slipped as the cat shred the welcome sign huffing and puffing in anger Dexter turns his attention to a surprised Jess with a snarl he pounce towards her before Dewey ran in front of Jess holding a towel and with expert skill he covered and restrain the frenzied feline leaving only the surprised cats head who soon scowls at what happened, Dewey panting after the harrowing experience before giving Jess a stern look "Jess, I told you to leave it alone! No one on Earth is going to adopt this cat." he says as he gestures to the still thrashing feline who kept snarling and hissing the whole time.
Jess looked concern before turning to determination "No, I know that their is a family who will love and care for him and I'm going to find them." she said determined to Dexter a forever home, Dewey just gave up and decided to give her a pet carrier saying 'better safe then sorry.' before walking away Jess nods before putting the glowering cat inside the carrier and made her way to her moms van (She's allowed to use it as long it's for volunteer work and not joy riding.)
As Jess set the carrier holding Dexter in the back seat before fastening herself in the drivers seat "What you need is an owner with a strong will, a leader you can follow..." Jess says as she adjust the mirror as she looked at the cat in the mirror before driving to who she think might be the perfect owner.
(Metropolis High Track and Field)
Diana smiled at the cat after hearing Jess's story Diana nods "Certainly I will help this creature in need." she says.
Jess smiles "I knew you'd be perfect for each other. He's strong and independent, just like you."she says as she hands Dexter over to Diana who stroke his head.
"Fear not, Jessica. Oftentimes I cared for others' animal companions on Themyscira. I even became known as the Minotaur whisperer. [chuckles] See? He is pleased." Diana boasted as she stroke the cat until Dexter's fur starts to fly up to her face which caused a reaction "[sniffles] [chuckles nervously] Oh! Ahhh! [sneezes] What is this witchcraft?"
Jess suddenly gets alarmed by what she fears is happening "Oh no!" she says as Diana kept sneezing "You're allergic to cats! Dexter, no! Get off of her! Get off!" Jess says in alarm as she grabs Dexter's leash and try to pull the cat off her friend who just curled around Diana's face just to make it as uncomfortable for Diana as possible.
"Remove this demon at once!" Diana muffley ordered before releasing another sneeze.
(One struggle later)
Diana huff after her sneezing fit as she held a tissue to her nose "Apologies Jessica [sniffle] but I seem to be unable to handle this task." Diana says before blowing her nose.
Jess waved her hands "Oh no, it's my fault I didn't realize you have a cat allergies."
Diana just waved it off "No no you couldn't have known ah ah ah...[sneeze] [sniffle]Now if you excuse me I'm going to inform the team that I will be unable to attend practice today." she says before sneezing again.
Jess just sighed before making her way back to her car and drove off, during her drive she looked up to the mirror again to look at Dexter who glares forward "Maybe what you need is a more traditional environment, a family structure to make you feel safe." Jess suggested before brightening up "And I know just who to go to."
(Gordon Residence)
"[squealing] Jess, I've always wanted a cat! I'll call him Batkitten." Babs says excitedly as she jumps in place before forming pointy ears on her head with her fingers.
Jess smiles at Babs excitement before looking confused "Why not Batcat?" Jess asked as she set Dexter down not seeing the cat ran under the display case holding many batman themed collectibles.
"No, that's dumb. Batkitten!" Babs simply said before making pointing ears again.
Jess just shrugs "Oh, I think we've found you the perfect owner, Dexter. Er... Batkitten. [chuckles]" Jess chuckles before realizing "Batkitten" is missing.
Both girls looked for the missing cat before hearing a purr above them looking up Jess gasp while Babs looked really nervous "Uh, careful, Batkitten, that's one of mommy's favorite Batman figurines!" Babs says noticing how the cat looked at it before knocking it off, Babs gasp before she dove over to catch the figuring "Phew. That was a close one, huh?" Babs said happy she caught it before gasping as nearly the entire top row of her prize possessions is knocked off the shelf causing Babs in a panic caught every single one adding more to the pile as she just barely manage to stand up right.
"Dexter, stop that!" Jess shouts seeing how much trouble the cat is causing.
Dexter ignored her as he looked to the last item on the shelf a bust modeled after Batman, Babs seeing his attention on the last prized possession which caused a twinge of fear in her as she chuckles nervously "Batkitten, don't even think about it. It took me thirty-two hours of painstaking-[yells] Batkitten, no!" Babs dropped her pile in a vain attempt to catch the bust CRASH only for Babs to stare at her broken bust.
Jess finally able to grab the cat who scowls again Jess turned to Babs who just stares at the fallen statue getting Jess to feel really guilty "I'm so sorry Babs maybe we can-"
"I [sob] just want to be alone right now...[sniff]" Babs cut her off as she just picked up the pieces.
Jess looked hurt but she know their is nothing for to do about it so she left placing the angry feline into the carrier before she left she looks to Babs "I'm really sorry.." she says as she closed the door before making her way to her car glaring a bit.
After sitting into her van Jess sighs before looking at the angry cat in the mirror caused her to power it through she doesn't know the meaning of let it go! "Okay that was a bus- I mean it could be worst, but maybe what you need is someone who can be dependable and who can handle any mischief you make." Jess says wincing a bit when she almost said bust but she won't be discourage by one or two mishaps but she knew this person won't say-
(Shotaro's Detective firm)
"NO!, not even if you pay me a kings ransom will I take that monster!" Shotaro shouted out angrily as he points to the equally glaring cat.
Jess looked confused at his sudden aggression "I.. don't understand I thought you would like a cat considering how much you take on lost cat cases?" Jess knew how much Shotaro spend away from the group due to him having to find someone's cat almost every week.
Shotaro turns his glare to her getting her to flinch at the look "He's the reason I kept running around finding cats that he chased off or I have to chase this cat who makes it even worst! Believe me Jess I understand if you want to find him a home but he doesn't want one, so for this cat he's better off on the street and he agrees." he says getting Dexter to hiss at him who glares back.
Jess wants to scold Shotaro for his opinion on Dexter but she realized they have more of a history than she thought sighing a bit made her way back to the van.
Shotaro feels bad about how he acted to Jess but that cat has tormented him since the moment he opened his firm, sighing he grab a hat off the hat rack he made his way to Jess "Wait Jess." Jess stops as she turns to Shotaro who walked up to her "I'm sorry that I won't take in the little-...monster, but that doesn't mean I won't help you." Jess at first thought he was going to tell her to give up but she smiled at his offer.
After moving the signs to the back Shotaro rode shotgun occasionally glaring at the cage before looking forward "So any Idea whose willing to adopt this demon?" Shotaro said as he points his thumb at the growling cat.
Jess frowns but she let it go "Well, maybe Garth? He really loves animals so he would be perfect right?"
Shotaro looked to her incredulously "You want Garth to keep the cat?" Jess looks to Shotaro confused "A cat with an attitude problem to a home full of fishes." Shotaro deadpanned.
Jess starts to picture the scenario and grew very pale at what could've happened if she went through with it "Oh should have thought of that." Jess says before shaking her head "Okay Garth is out what about you?"
Shotaro thinks about it "How about Barbara?"
Jess shook her head "Already tried that, Dexter broke some of Babs figurines and she's really upset right now." Jess says really sad about the topic.
Shotaro glares back at the cage before turning to Jess "I meant Barbie you know Barbara Minerva?" Jess looked surprised.
"You mean Metropolis High's Queen Bee?" Jess asked confused on how Shotaro knows her "How do you know her?"
"Ah, She was the one who taught me English when I came to Metropolis and we've been friends ever since." Shotaro said.
Jess looks surprised she knew Minerva has her posse or clique but she never knew Shotaro were friends with her, though she never met her she couldn't be as bad as the rumors...right?
(Minerva Mansion)
Jess just stared at the big house as Shotaro walked up to the intercom [Do you have an appointment?] "Excuse me I'm looking for Barbie it's Shotaro." [... Please wait a moment.] after a while of awkward silence until they heard a far off sound of a car before the gate opens with a car behind it driven by non other than the girl they came to meet.
Barbie looked happy to see her Sho chan only for her expression to drop at seeing another girl next to her Sho chan "Sho chan I'm happy to see you but why is she here?" Barbie said she said giving a pointed glare at Jess who stood their awkwardly.
Shotaro just shrugs "I'm helping her find a home for that ...cat." he said as he points to the cage.
Barbie looked to the cage and for some reason she feels territorial as Dexter gave a challenging hiss causing Barbie to glare at him before turning to Shotaro "I'm sorry Sho chan but even if I wanted a cat Daddy won't allow a pet, saying it would make a mess of his studies."
Shotaro just nods "I kinda figured but it was nice to see you getting better Barbie." he said getting Barbie to blush with a smile "I can't wait for you coming back to school I kinda missed you." she starts to blush harder on how Sho chan is waiting for her return "And Diana also misses you and hopes you to can perform with her." and Barbie's smile turns to a frown as her blush fades completely.
"Does she?" Barbie ground out before clearing her throat "Well the doctor says I just have a week until I fully recover so I'll be back by Monday." only to blush as Shotaro grabbed her shoulder with an ecstatic look.
"Hontou? That's great I'm happy for you Barbs." He said before letting go as he makes his way to the van before waving to Barbie "I'll see you on Monday Barbs!"
Barbie just waved with a blush before she skips back to her car and driving back.
Back with the duo Shotaro smiles a bit he's happy Barbie can go to school again "I'm happy your happy that your friend got better but we still need to find a forever home for Dexter." and his smiles gone as Jess reminds Shotaro their mission "So anyone else comes to mind?"
Shotaro immediately thought of Kara but he shook his head knowing how much Kara wants to keep her tough girl reputation so he looks to Jess who knew he's got nothing.
Jess is just desperate due to the dwindling list of people 'Garth is out or else he would lose his friends, Karen is too timid for Dexter and I don't know who els-' "[Groans]Okay, so I have no reason to think this next one will be the perfect owner, but you never know!" Jess says.
Shotaro looked to her confused "Who're you taking him too?"
(Hal's Home)
"Oh, sure I'll take him, I love these things. I'll teach him to catch a tennis ball, let him do his thing on a few hydrants." Hal says as he held the angry cat like a football before turning to bring the cat inside "We're gonna bro-down hard. Right, D-Money? Who's my D-Money?"
Jess sighed in relief before turning to Shotaro who gave a deadpanned look "Really?"
"What? maybe he would be a good owner." Jess said before wincing at the sound of crashing furniture's and Hal's cry for help as things were thrown out of the house through the windows getting Jess to sigh "I'll get him." Jess says before wincing at Hal's high pitch scream.
(Back on the road)
Shotaro looked worried at his friends who tries to keep herself together "This is a lost cause you know that right?"
"Their is no such thing as a lost cause!" Jess declared loudly before groaning a bit "And I'm not going to give up on him." she says as she looks back at the cat in the rear view mirror.
Shotaro just sighs "But who else will take him in everyone we know who could keep him can't for various of reasons." he said as he lowered his hat.
Jess on the other hand looked up as she got a epiphany "If everyone we know can't keep him then we should look to those we don't."
Shotaro looked confused "Didn't you try that at the shelter?"
Jess reminded of the 'incident' groans "[groans in dismay] Don't worry, Dexter. We just need to cast a wider net, show the world how amazing you are!" before she declares as she looks to the cat who just growls.
(PetCo)
Shotaro snorts at seeing his arch nemesis in a paper boy costume with a permanent scowl who glares harder at Shotaro who replied with a cheeky smirk.
Jess ignored Shotaro as she took some pictures "Smile, Dexter. Once the world sees how amazingly cute you are, you'll get adopted in no time." she said as she already uploaded some pictures to the internet.
Dexter growls at Jess for the humiliation while Shotaro looked at her with some doubt in her idea "You sure they won't throw him out once they realize how he is?" Shotaro said.
Jess just scoffs "You don't know that-""-Yes I in fact do.-""-we just need to keep having faith and who knows maybe he will find someone who he won't hate?" Jess says while ignoring Shotaro as she takes a few more photos to upload.
"Aw, look at his little hat." A woman cooed at seeing the cat in the outfit.
"He's so cute. Can we get him, Mommy, can we?" a little girl tugs on her mom's arm as she points to Dexter.
Jess turns to Shotaro with a smirk "See he already got some attention maybe he will find a new owner soon." she said before Shotaro points behind her turning her head before looking concern at the crowd around the agitated cat " Let's just..." before she was bumped aside "...give him a little space."
As the crowd came close to Dexter who starts to get so agitated he starts to have some flashbacks.
(Flash)
Dexter was hiding in a turned over trashcan in the heavy rain just scared of being alone before a pair of feet stops in front of the opening.
You had hope.
Dexter played with a yarn ball as a women laughed at his antics.
You had family.
Dexter was held in the women loving embrace.
You had love.
Dexter was woken up by something breaking causing him to look up to see a crook coming in to take some valuables so Dexter growl loudly as he attack the crook.
But it was taking from you.
The woman scream before Dexter was thrown off followed by a bang.
Family...
A group of police threw him out of his own home.
Love...
Dexter found himself in a bag being jostled around roughly as he cries out.
Hope...
Dexter manage to claw his way out of the bag as he swam to the surface.
Leaving only hate.
Dexter growls out to the world that gave him such small hope to lose in the world.
Leaving only rage!
(PetCo)
Dexter growls loudly snarling at the crowd who stepped back from the now agitated cat.
"Everyone please give him space!" Jess cries out as she tries to carral the crowed not seeing a large figure walks passed her.
Shotaro on the other hand did "Hey! Get back or you'll get mauled."
"Such rage." The large figure said as he revealed himself to be a large muscular red skinned being with exposed row of large razor sharp teeth in a permanent snarl wearing what can only be a red version of the Green Lantern uniform "You have been tested for so long and you succeeded now your hate has been complete."
Dexter only meow angrily at the being who only chuckled as the crowed starts to run away from the sudden monster leaving only the angry cat, the sudden monster, Jess and Shotaro who was weary of the being.
Jess looked confused at the sudden being "Excuse me um who are you?" Jess asked but the being ignored her.
"Let your rage burn but burn it for me." The monster said as he raised his fist before opening it to reveal a red ring.
Jess gasp as she looks to her own ring "Where did you get that?"
Again the monster ignored her as he starts to chant as the cat growls "With blood and rage of crimson red." he let the ring floats to Dexter who hissed at the ring "Ripped from corpse so freshly dead." Dexter's eyes start to glow red as his iris starts to thin to slits "Together with our hellish hate!" the ring slips onto the cats tail "YOU'LL BURN THEM ALL! THAT IS THEIR FATE!" [FLASH!]
As Jess and Shotaro covered their eyes from the bright red flash and once they start to see again they gasped at what they saw.
Flying next to the monster is Dexter who for the first time bared a toothy smile as he wore the same outfit like the monster only made to fit his feline body, the red monster chuckles "Welcome to the family...you were called Dexter weren't you? Where I've come from that meant loved one, but you were scorned by the very world then you shall be called Dex-Starr the scorned!" the monster announced giving Dex-Starr his new name.
Jess finally had enough as she shouts out "Who are you and why do you have a power ring!"
The being turned to her as he scowls "I am Atrocitus whelp the leader of the Red Lantern Corps" he anounce as he shows his own ring much to Jess's confusion.
"Another one first Star Sapphire now Red Lanterns?" Jess says.
"[Scoffs] The Red Lanterns are much more than the Sapphire corps and especially the guardians Green Lantern." Atrocitus said with some venom when speaking of the guardians before his rings starts to glow "And we grow our ranks in every corners of the universe and soon we shall have our revenge."
"I have no clue what is going on but your not leaving at least not with that cat." Shotaro says while Jess looked concern.
"Dexter come here boy we can still find you a home." Jess called out getting the cat to look to her Jess smiled before looking in shock as Dex-Starr chuck out a fire ball at her only to be saved by Shotaro who pushed her away they look behind them to see a smoking crater where she was.
Shotaro grimace "That is disgusting." he pulled Jess avoiding more volatile fur balls before hiding behind some shelves.
Jess looked back as she focus on Dex-Starr's ring before turning to Shotaro "Okay, Shotaro, we just have to get that ring off of his..." Shotaro just looks behind her " ...tail...He's behind me isn't he?" she turns around as she gasp as she saw the snarling Red Lantern cat who is starting to hack up another fire ball "[whimpering] Nice kitty..." only for them to jump out of the fire balls way.
"Dexter, please! Let's talk about this." Jess pleaded but the cat hurls a bigger fire ball causing Jess to gasp as Shotaro pulled her back from the ball.
As the two ran from the furious feline Shotaro noticed some customers with their phones out taking pictures on the alien and the raging cat "Oi! Get out the back now!" Shotaro shouts out, at first the customers were looking doubtful until a blast hits an isle close to them causing them to scramble out the back.
Shotaro sighed before dodging a stray fire ball while Dex-Starr chased Jess around and at some point he lost sight of her, letting out a low growl as he prowl in the air as he sniff the air, he growls finding her behind a pile of cat food.
Jess huffed from running around before finding some cover "I don't want to hurt you Dexter but I have to fight back." Jess said as she looks to her ring before hearing a loud growl as she looks up to see Dex-Starr retching out a burning plasma on her.
The Red Lantern cat smirks finally getting rid of the annoying pest only to look surprise as Jess not only survived but is now wearing her Green Lantern uniform getting Dex-Starr to hiss angrily.
Atrocitus also noticed her new form "A Green Lantern [scoff] a weakling to feed our rage." he said as he aimed his ring and fire a red beam at Green Lantern only for the beam to be smack back at Atrocitus who bats it away "What!?"
Looking up with his MetalShaft resting on his shoulder Double in his Lunar/Metal form "Sorry you're gotta deal with me." Double said before lashing out his shaft which extend like a whip.
Atrocitus constructed a spiked mace to bash the metal whip aside "You dare challenge Atrocitus insect!" Atrocitus roared as he flew down to bash into Double who defended with his MetalShaft.
Green Lantern was pushed back by Dex-Starr's fires Green Lantern stood back up looking up determined "It's over, Dex-Starr. Hand me the ring." Green Lantern said as she held her hands out but Dex-Starr vomits out burning bile at her but she caught it in a constructed pet carrier before dismissing it causing the bile to drop and melt the floor.
Dex-Starr hiss before charging at Green Lantern who flew off into the isle losing sight of her Dex-Starr growls as he turns his head around to spot his prey, until something dangled in front of him causing him to mew as he smack the dangling thing not seeing Green Lantern smiled as she constructed a feather teaser playing with the cat.
Double tried his best as he dodge from Atrocitus's volatile biles and blast while he whips his metalshaft to smack the Red Lantern who flew around the elongated staff and charging in to slam his fist on Double who blocked the blow with his metal side before thrusting his metalshaft into Atrocitus chest.
As Atrocitus recovered he was hit in the head by Double's staff knocking him into an isle seemingly knocked out Double huff in exhaustion as he waited for a moment before relaxing only for Atrocitus launch himself with a roar grabbing Double by his face then throwing him into another isle.
Dex-Starr kept trying to grab the dangling thing until a crash caused Dex-Starr to jump in surprise while also causing the thing to flicker a bit causing him to look up to a sheepish Green Lantern who chuckled nervously, Dex-Starr's eyes narrowed with a growl before looking to the shelves seeing kitty litter causing the Red Lantern to smirk as he slash at the bags causing the cat sand to pour out to the floor.
Green Lantern looked in concern when Dex-Starr starts to flew around in circle creating a litter sand storm blinding Green Lantern as well causing her to cough from the flying sand losing her footing she was thrown off the shelves and landing in a make shift desert,
Green Lantern tries to see in the dust wind before hearing a mew behind her causing her to turn to see for a brief second a red light before disappearing into the dust storm, she looked around before hearing a meow again seeing the red light causing her to grab it but it flew away before another meow was heard as the red light flew around her, Green Lantern tries to catch the red light over and over but due to the dusty wind and the echoing meows made it difficult to even get close.
Dex-Starr tired of this little game he growled as he pounced on Green Lanterns back causing her to fall into the cat sand watching her coughing and struggles tickled his predatory instinct as he prowl around her.
Green Lantern coughed out some kitty litter that got in her mouth 'I can't fight here gotta get out.' she thought until she saw a bright red light from her peripheral fearing it might be Dex-Starr only to give way to hope once she saw what the light is 'There!' Green Lantern bolts toward the light and slams through and out revealing she escaped.
As Green Lantern coughs the last kitty litter from her mouth she turns to see Dex-Starr growls as he floated up in the air over PetCo growling at her before roaring as he dives down to Green Lantern.
Green Lantern remembers how Dewey manage to stop Dexter so with narrowed eyes she construct a large blanket surprising Dex-Starr before he got wrapped up leaving only his head and tail exposed unable to fly he fell into Green Lanterns arms as he struggles to free him self all while Green Lantern struggles to keep him still "Give me the ring!" she shouts until she grabs the ring which just so happens to be Dex-Starr's tail.
Having his tail grabbed reminded him of when the punks grabbed him before tossing him into the bag that was thrown off the bridge now fueled by pent up anger Dex-Starr let out a powerful roar as he flew around in a rampage cutting through anything in his way.
Green Lantern held on as she desperately try to take off the ring and just as she was about to do that something large grabbed her leg and flung her to the pet store entrance groaning she looked up to to see Double holding her looking worn out "Fool! You dare take away a Red Lantern's ring!?" she heard as she struggles up to see Atrocitus holding a worn out Dex-Starr as he snarls at Green Lantern.
"Yes! I dare! He shouldn't even have that he should have a family a forever home where he can feel safe!" Green Lantern shouts out as she glares at Atrocitus who also snarls at her.
"Taking off the ring means killing the Red Lantern." Atrocitus said gravely shocking both superhero teens seeing this Atrocitus chuckles "Oh did the guardians not tell you that? [chuckle] We Red Lanterns are drawn to those with righteous fury in our hearts we were ridiculed, taken advantaged, sold or exiled. We had lost everything we hold dear our pride, our joy, our love, our family [snarls] our homes." as Atrocitus listed every aspect of what made a Red Lantern caused Green Lantern to stagger not believing what she had just heard but Atrocitus continued "We have lost our hearts so the ring can replace it and we are kept alive by our hate and rage, so you see Dex-Starr was already destined to be in our rank he belong with us." Atrocitus says as he glares at Green Lantern.
Green Lantern couldn't believe it he really was a lost cause from what Atrocitus said Dexter already lost everything he cared about as she looks up to the cat who gave a weak mew nuzzled up to Atrocitus who gently pets him before growling at her did she realize he didn't want help.
Atrocitus scoffs at her broken form as he rose up taking Dex-Starr with him as he glares down to her "You should've let it go Green Lantern but your corps has always interfered with the galaxies just like those detestable guardians." he said before flying off to the stars.
Green Lantern fell to her knees while Double comforts her as she sobs "...I didn't know..." Green Lantern said as she buried herself into Double's chests who held her as she cries.

Jess laid in her bed as she looked up to the ceiling sighing at what happened today until she heard a ringing beside her grabbing it she looked to the side to show her phone and seeing who's calling her "[groan] what do you want Hal?" she said before picking up the call "Yes Hal what do you want.." she said grumpily not in the mood [Yeesh when Shotaro said your feeling down I didn't think it was this bad.] "[groan] Just tell me what you want Hal then I can go back to wallowing." [Okay okay you don't have to bite my head off...[ahem] Listen Cruz it's not your fault he just...you know anyways you should know their is a way to safely take off a Red Lantern ring.] Jess sat up surprised "There is!?" [Yeah but it is risky because they will still attack you while doing it but there is a way I've heard a recruit saved a Red Lantern before but he was drained almost lost his ring in the process but he did it.]
Jess felt relieved after hearing this [It's not much but thought you should know it might be impossible but can still happen after all if there's a will there's a way right?] Jess teared up a bit "Thank you Hal..." [Hey no problem didn't want to be left alone with Kilowog when it's drill week I am not going through that alone.]
Jess rolled her eyes but she still smiled "Really that makes it much better." she said sarcastically.
"Dinner time Mija come on down!" Jess's mom called downstairs.
Looking to the clock seeing it was late it was "I've got to go Hal and thank you." she said before hanging up as she made her way to the dinner table "I'm coming Mama!" she said as she made her way out her room.
