Chapter Thirty Seven

Bisky and Ayami continued to walk through the canyon, talking quietly. Sensing something coming towards them, both girls jumped to the side. Ayami managed to dodge him completely but Bisky wasn't so lucky. With a flash of steel a tall, raggedy pink haired man managed to cut off one of her pigtails. She and Ayami turned, watching the man warily as he cackled manically.

"I cut it! I just cut your hair! With my scissor hands." He shouted, playing with his scissors. Suddenly he dropped Biskys hair into his mouth, chewing slowly.

"That's so gross." Ayami grumbled, shuddering.

"Don't get so comfortable, you'll be next. I will learn everything about your body before I begin to toy with it." The man cackled.

"Is that his Nen ability?" Ayami asked curiously.

"I believe so." Bisky said, unbothered.

"Who would choose that for a Nen ability? That seems pretty useless." Ayami huffed. The man stopped chewing suddenly and gaped at Bisky. He watched her for a moment, spitting out the hair and sheathing the scissors. Much to Ayamis' surprise, he removed his belt and dropped it to the ground before taking a fighter's stance.

"My fighter's spirit insists that I challenge you to a duel." He said respectfully.

"So you're not just trash after all. Very well. Ayami, wait with the others." Bisky ordered, removing her gloves. Ayami quickly found Gon and Killua, settling next to them to watch. It didn't last long, Bisky managed to take him out in two fluid movements, leaving the three kids impressed. "You're lucky, Had this been a battle of Nen, you'd be dead. During the battle, what did you see first?" Bisky called to the kids, disregarding the man for the moment.

"The guy being flipped through the air." Gon stated and they approached.

"Same here." Killua agreed. Ayami just nodded, watching her carefully. She was stronger than she appeared.

"Had he been an in-game character, his level of difficulty ranking would be D. He would have killed you. This is the second time I've seen you barely escape death. When will your luck run out?"

"Miss Bisky?" Gon asked.

"Call me Bisky. If you must use an honorific, call me Lady Bisky." She said with a childlike smile.

"Is 'Hag' good enough?" Killua muttered to Ayami, only to get sent flying once more.

"Why are you here Bisky?" Gon continued.

"Oh, I'm here to clear the game, but I'm aksi after a rare jewel."

"A jewel?" Ayami asked.

"It can only be found on Greed Island. Card number 81, Blue Planet, a gemstone with an incomparable blue shine. What about you?"

"We're here to clear the game, obviously." Killua grumbled, rubbing his red cheek.

"Actually, my dad made this game."

"Oh?" Bisky asked curiously.

"Yeah, I'm looking for my dad, I thought this game might give me a clue."

"Who's your dad?" Bisky asked.

"Ging Freecs."

"Ging?" Bisky gasped, surprised.

"You know him?" Ayami asked.

"Yes! He's famous! Chairman Netero used to say he's among the top five Nen users in the world!"

"That's impressive." Ayami mused.

"Bisky, if you'd be willing to postpone your treasure hunt, would you please teach us Nen?" Gon asked.

"So you've finally come around? I'm no softie like Wng." Bisky warned.

"We don't need a softie, we need to get stronger." Ayami said determinedly.

"Very well. Are you ready?"

"Yes!" Gon said excitedly.

"Of course." Ayami grinned.

"What about you?" Bisky called to Killua, who was sulking a few feet away.

"Fine." He agreed. Below them, the man who Bisky had beaten coughed, spitting out some blood.

"Take out your cards." Bisky demanded.

"Book." The man grunted, handing it over.

"I'll give you a chance, you must avoid their attacks for two weeks! If you're successful, I'll let you go. If you're knocked unconscious or can't stand anymore, I'll kill you." Bisky warned.

"I just have to avoid their attacks, right? It doesn't matter what I do to them?" He asked, turning a dark, hungry smile their way.

"Sure." Bisky agreed easily. "But there's one rule. You're not allowed out of this crater. If you break this rule, you lose, and I'll kill you."

"What about us?" Killua asked.

"Same rules apply. If you leave, or fail to defeat him after two weeks, you'll be punished."

"You're bounty hunter Binholt, right?" Bisky asked as the man stood, grabbing his belt full of scissors and putting it back on.

"Yeah." Binholt muttered.

"He's got a bounty on him. He's a serial killer." Ayami muttered to Killua and Gon.

"Begin!" Bisky yelled as the sun rose behind them. They rushed him. Binholt managed to cut Killua's cheek and Ayami's jaw, and nearly took out Gon's nose. They shared a look, realising how skilled he was. If Binholt hadn't been injured, he could have killed them. It was Gon's idea to use Boulders to get closer to him, throwing several of them around the crater they were in to hide behind. They managed to corner Binholt soon enough, but before Killua could finish him off Gon called him back, suggesting that they spend the next two weeks fighting him until they could each beat him on their own. Bisky watched excitedly, practically drooling. Ayami frequently heard her muttering about sapphires, diamonds, and tanzanites. Eventually, their two weeks were over, and they could all beat him single handedly. At Gon's insistence, they let Binholt go, and Gon waved wildly as the man walked away/

"Alright, let's head for Masadora." Bisky said, holding up a finger.

"Osu! Number nine!" The three friends yelled together, using Gyo.

"Too slow! All of you give me three thousand push ups!"

"Damn it!" They curse, dropping down to get started. When they finished, Bisky grinned at them.

"Masadora is about seventy Kilometers away. We should be there in three hours, easy!" Bisky said cheerfully as the kids gaped at her. They took off running and reached Masadora as the sun rose. Bisky dragged them to a store and bought a few cards before making them run back to the rocky area they'd started in. When they made it there, Bisky used Gain on the cards she'd bought, turning them into shovels, flashlights, and a wheelbarrow.

"That's what you bought at the store?" Ayami asked, fixing her messy ponytail.

"Yep! Let's head back to Masadora now!" Bisky said cheerfully.

"Are you kidding me?" Ayami yelled, before pausing. She, Gon, and Killua were stripped down to their tank tops and shorts, covered in dirt, and clearly disheveled. Bisky, in her large, layered poofy dress didn't look the slightest bit affected by their one hundred and forty Kilometer run. 'She's strong'.

"Except this time, we'll go in a straight line." Bisky continued, ignoring her student.

"A straight line? You can't mean…" Killua laughed desperately.

"Yep! It's time to dig!" Bisky laughed. Ayami, Killua and Gon grabbed some shovels and began to dig a tunnel through the giant rock in their way. They dug until the sun set, and Bisky made them sleep sitting up, holding a string attached to a boulder hanging above their head. "Starting today, you must always sleep in this position. Don't let go of the rope. There's a chance I may cut the rope, so keep a portion of your brain awake while you sleep." Bisky explained. Ayami fell asleep without issue, snapping awake and jumping out of the way when Bisky cut her rope. Bisky nodded approvingly and ordered her to hang a new stone above her. "Light sleeper?" Bisky asked idly, watching her get the rock into position.

"Very." Ayami yawned.

"Any reason why?"

"I didn't exactly grow up in a safe place, you've always gotta be ready where I'm from."

"And where's that?"

"Meteor City."

"I see." Bisky hummed, watching her curiously. Ayami paid her no mind and quickly went back to sleep, vaguely hearing Gon cry out when Bisky cut his rope. She didn't wake again until morning.
