Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.

Smiling wickedly as he approached his castle, Naraku chuckled darkly as he remembered the looks of despair on the InuHanyou's former companions and the looks of absolute rage for both Sesshomaru and Kouga.

'Those fools.' Naraku thought, 'They really faced me thinking that Inuyasha would be somewhere there. Perhaps when Inuyasha is dead, I'll send them his head as a gift.' A cruel look settled on Naraku's face as he landed on the ground and began to walk. 'Then I wonder what they will do when they see that head. That will truly be a sight that I can't wait to see.'

With this wicked thought in mind, Naraku passed the gates. However, before he could enter inside the castle walls, his pale incarnation met him outside.

"Kanna," Naraku said, walking towards the incarnation who greeted him with a blank stare, "Why are you here? You should be inside with Kagura."

"Inuyasha has not been eating the meals provided to him." Kanna calmly said, "He just leaves them at the door without touching the meals for me to collect whenever I come. Inuyasha has done this since last night.

"Is that right?" Naraku said, already having an idea as to why the InuHanyou would be doing this, "Since last night?" The pale incarnation nodded.

Without another word, Naraku walked inside the castle and headed down the barely lit corridor to enter the hall that would lead towards Inuyasha's room. Approaching the InuHanyou's room, Naraku slid open the door and walked inside the room.

Nursing the child, Inuyasha didn't look up as if he didn't even notice the spider demon's arrival in his room. He just remained quiet and continued nursing his child.

"Inuyasha." Naraku said, drawing the attention of the InuHanyou who met his gaze with a cold and distant look. "Why have you not eaten the meals brought to you since last night?"

Turning his attention back to the nursing child in his arms, Inuyasha answered, "Sorry. I just have not been hungry."

"You have not been hungry since last night?" Naraku repeated.

"Yes." Inuyasha answered.

"Has this have anything to do with the events of yesterday?" Naraku asked, knowing that it indeed did. As if reflecting on the spider demon's words, Inuyasha waited a moment before he shook his head in response. "Then why are you refusing to eat?"

"I'm just not feeling hungry at the moment." Inuyasha calmly answered.

There was a brief calm silence in the room as Naraku kept his eyes on Inuyasha, and Inuyasha kept his gaze on the nursing child in his arms.

Then Sekichou released the nipple that he had been sucking and yawned. Inuyasha covered up his breasts, and lifted Sekichou enough so the child's chin was on his shoulder. Then, Inuyasha gently patted the child on the back.

Narrowing his eyes in suspicion, Naraku watched Inuyasha do this until Sekichou burped and the InuHanyou began to rock him gently to sleep.

Upon seeing this, Naraku stood in the room for just a moment before leaving. Sliding the door as he walked out. Kanna seemed to have been waiting for him outside.

"Kanna, keep an eye on Inuyasha." Naraku commanded, "Let me know if anything happens or if he continues to refuse to eat the entire day."

With that said, Naraku left Kanna alone in the corridor and headed towards his room.

Sitting in a fetal position, Inuyasha kept his eyes straight ahead watching his child as he slept. Unaware of his mother's gaze, Sekichou continued with his undisturbed sleep.

Drawing his eyes away from Sekichou, Inuyasha gazed outside watching as the 'beautiful trees' moved along with the breeze of the air. The sound of the leaves on the trees blowing in the air filled Inuyasha's ears as he kept his eyes on the outside view. The sounds of occasional birds chirping briefly entered before leaving as soon as it came.

Hearing the sound of the door sliding open, Inuyasha's ears twitched in response. However, instead of turning around to look at his visitor, Inuyasha kept his eyes outside the window.

"Inuyasha, I left you alone thinking you would eat on your own, but you have not eaten for almost three days now." Came Naraku's voice, causing Inuyasha to look at the spider demon. "Are you aware that your behavior is damaging your body?

Making a soft sound of agreement, Inuyasha nodded, "I have noticed."

"So? You have noticed? Then tell me Inuyasha, if you continue this behavior, where do you expect Sekichou to get his milk as well as the proper nourishment for his milk from?" Naraku said, "It's only a matter of time before your body stops producing milk."

"I'll eat something before then." Inuyasha calmly said, briefly glancing at the sleeping child, before he looked back outside the window.

Naraku paused for another moment, before he spoke, "Perhaps, I have been approaching this matter the wrong way." Watching as the InuHanyou's ears twitched as he spoke these words. Although Inuyasha's back was to Naraku, Inuyasha was watching him from the corner of his eyes.

Suddenly, Naraku's tentacle-like appendages grabbed Inuyasha's arms and legs, lifted him off the ground, and forced him to turn around and face Naraku. As if Inuyasha was expecting this, he just calmly stared at the spider demon.

"Inuyasha," Naraku began, "Is there something that you wish to tell me?"

Undisturbed by this, Inuyasha just shook his head and looked away. However, as soon as he did that another tentacle appeared to force his head to look back at the spider demon.

"Inuyasha." Naraku warned, staring at his captive with cold crimson eyes. "Answer me. Is there something you wish to tell me?" Inuyasha calmly just shook his head.

Naraku and Inuyasha stared at each other for a few moments, before Naraku finally sneered, "Inuyasha, could it be that you are ashamed of how much you have fallen after displaying yourself as mine in front of your older brother and former allies? So what of it? Do you wish to die?"

"Go to hell, Naraku." Inuyasha said, his voice full of ventom.

"But Inuyasha if you didn't display yourself as my whore, how would they have known the truth?" Naraku asked in a mocking tone, acting as if there was no other way for the truth to have come out. "If anything, you should be thankful that I had mercy on you and spared you from such a pitiful death Inuyasha."

"Naraku, don't pretend that you did me any favors. All you did was make my life a living hell." Inuyasha began, his voice a deadly calm, "In fact, death would've been far better than the life I'm living now."

At these words, Naraku became silent. And in this silence, he stared at Inuyasha who only calmly stared at him back.

"Oh? So you don't wish to live anymore, do you now?" Naraku said, At this, Inuyasha looked away before the tentacle forced his attention back. "Inuyasha, don't you want to live to see Sekichou grow into an adult?"

"Naraku," Inuyasha said, "Why did you remove my chains and give me a new room with a large window and not a small one? Why have there been no guards outside my door, since I have given birth? Is it because you trust that I won't run away, or is it because you are trying to tempt me into running away?"

"Tempt you into running away?" Naraku said as he smirked, "My, why would I do that when we have a deal?"

Inuyasha just gave the spider demon a blank stare, "Aren't the trees and the view outside my window meant to encourage me to run away? Since they are just an illusion. No life can grow in the dry ground that surrounds this castle. You know that."

"You didn't mind those illusions when you would take daily walks outside during your pregnancy." Naraku pointed out.

"At the time I didn't notice, but once I did," Inuyasha said, "I wondered why you placed illusions outside my window. Then I wondered why I no longer had any chains or guards to prevent me from escaping."

"And you came up with the idea that I may have done those things to encourage you to escape." Naraku asked not as a question, but as a statement with that wicked smirk on his face, "But why would I do that when we have a deal? As long as you don't try to escape from me, I'll allow you to see Sekichou grow up."

"Naraku," Inuyasha said, "You don't intend for me to see Sekichou grow up do you? You want me to die a terrible death with the regret in my heart for breaking our deal, don't you? Even though you would be the one who forced me to break the deal." At this, Naraku's wicked smirk widened into a cruel smile.

"If you know that much, then why don't you just play along?" Naraku chuckled darkly, "You'll be fine as long as you can endure everything and don't try to escape."

"Naraku, why don't you save both of us the trouble and just kill me now!" Inuyasha said, his cold blank stare against the spider demon becoming fierce. "I no longer wish to live anymore if I have to be your whore. If I have to use a tool for your own enjoyment, I would rather die." At these words, Naraku just chuckled in amusement.

"So the great and mighty Inuyasha would rather die a quiet death in his room, than a death in the battlefield?" Naraku repeated in a mocking tone. "Oh, the mighty have fallen."

Inuyasha gave Naraku a sharp glare that said, "Damn you," as he remained captive in the air.

Naraku chuckled some more before he said, " Very well, I'll give you the death you so badly wish for Inuyasha." Another tentacles appeared from Naraku and poised a good distance from Inuyasha's heart. One pierce from the tentacle from this distance would lead to an instant death. "Thank you for the entertainment Inuyasha. I really enjoyed it."

As the tentacle moved back further just a bit before it dashed forward towards the InuHanyou's heart, inuyasha shut his eyes and braced himself for death.

However, seeing the InuHanyou give himself up to death just so easily, instead of fighting or at least resisting, caused a strange feeling to wash over Naraku. It was the unnerving strange feeling of regret that could never be taken back.

The arrival of this feeling caused the tentacle to stop right before Inuyasha's chest. It wasn't a strong urge, or push, but it was just enough to make Naraku stop and ponder on its presence.

Why did he feel this feeling of regret once he made the move to kill Inuyasha?

At this thought, Naraku narrowed his eyes as he began to ponder.

It remained still and quiet for a while until Inuyasha opened his eyes in curiosity of why this was so.

There, he was met with the face of the spider demon looking off to the side, looking as if he was in deep thought.

"Well Naraku...I'm waiting." Inuyasha said, in an impatient tone. Getting a brief glance from the spider demon, who immediately went back to his thoughts. As Inuyasha remained captive in the air, Inuyasha began to feel annoyed.

"You always wished for me to die, Naraku." Inuyasha spoke again, "Do it. Do it now. I won't even fight you on it. Kill me and you won't have to see me ever again."

However, instead of getting the reaction he expected to get from Naraku, the spider demon just continued to pay him no mind.

'What is he planning?' Inuyasha thought as he narrowed his eyes in suspicion at the spider demon who was preoccupied with whatever had his mental attention. 'Could it be that this bastard is having a hard time deciding on whether or not he still needs me? What a fucking piece of work. I ask the guy to give me a simple death that I won't even fight him on, and he's over here trying to decide whether or not he still needs me. Fucking asshole.'

"Naraku, if you're not going to do anything…" Inuyasha glanced over at his trapped arm and using his remaining strength ripped his arm free.

Once his hand was free, Inuyasha brought his claws to his neck and was about to slice it when Naraku's tentacle seized it once more. The tentacle moved the other's hand away from its position on the neck.

"Inuyasha, don't be so quick to die." Naraku hissed, "I will kill you when I am ready to do so. Do not force my hand." Inuyasha shot Naraku a harsh glare, while the spider demon shot him an even harsher one.

"The hell?" Inuyasha said, "I'm ready to die now, not whenever you are ready to do so. I cannot fucking believe that you are doing this Naraku. This whole time, you kept holding death over my head as a threat and used our son as a tool of leverage against me if I went against you, now that I don't give a rat's ass about either, you are now trying to find another way to control me. How about you just go to hell Naraku. Go to fucking hell!"

Both Naraku and Inuyasha continued to give each other dark and threatening looks as they remained focused on each other.

It remained like this for a while until Naraku finally brought Inuyasha down and released his arms and his legs.

"Very well." Naraku said, his crimson eyes cold and calculating, "Since you want to die so badly. From this moment on you are now dead to me." Without removing his eyes from the InuHanyou, Naraku called out, "Kanna. Kagura!"

Within that moment, said incarnations slid the door open.

"Kanna, summon the guards." Naraku commanded, his eyes still on the InuHanyou. "Kagura, find a nursemaid."

"Alright master Naraku." Came Kanna as she stepped away.

"Che, whatever you say." Kagura said, as she closed the door.

A little confused by the commands of the spider demon, Inuyasha didn't allow it to show on his face as he remained glaring at Naraku with that stubborn look on his face.

Tearing his eyes from Inuyasha, Naraku walked towards Sekichou and picked him up. "Since you are now dead to me, I see no reason to leave my son with a dead person. You are free to kill yourself however you wish Inuyasha, I will not stop you."

Inuyasha made no movement to stop Naraku as the spider demon walked towards the exit of the room with their child. He refused to allow Naraku to continue to use their child to control him anymore.

'Enough of this bullshit…' Inuyasha thought as he gave the spider demon a dark glare. 'I will not allow him to use me any longer. I can finally put behind this miserable and pathetic life that I have been living for the past couple of months.' At these thoughts, the glare that Inuyasha had towards the spider demon intensified. 'Good riddance!'

However, as if he could sense the thoughts of his mother, Sekichou suddenly woke up. Sekichou blinked his eyes slowly and looked up at the cold face of his father. Sekichou's eyes remained on his father's callous face for just a moment, before turning his attention to the aggrieved face of his mother who was giving him a dark look.

At the sight of his mother's angry face, Sekichou felt his heart ache in pain, as tears began to fill his eyes. Immediately, Sekichou began to cry which drew the attention of both his parents to him.

At the sight of seeing his child cry in the spider demon's arms, Inuyasha felt the need to reach out, take his child and comfort him, but as Inuyasha stretched out his arm, he froze. He couldn't do this anymore. No… Not again… He needed to be free from Naraku… free from all this!

'I can't live like this anymore.' Inuyasha thought, shutting his eyes and forcing his hand down. 'I just can't!'

However, the cries of his child became louder and louder and sounded as if his child was making some kind of movement.

Worried, but hesitant, Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes to see what was going on. Before him, Sekichou was sobbing on the shoulder of his father, while extending his little chubby hand towards Inuyasha. As if he was pleading with Inuyasha to come to him.

At the sight of this, Inuyasha felt as if someone had grabbed hold of his heart. Instinctively, Inuyasha began to slowly move towards his child, but as he began to move towards Sekichou, he noticed the look that Naraku gave him as their child struggled in his arms.

Naraku was watching him. Watching with cold and calculating eyes on what Inuyasha would decide to do. At this, Inuyasha felt the hand that held his heart begin to squeeze it, as he suddenly froze still in his spot.

'Na...Naraku…' Inuyasha thought, horrified at the observing look at the spider demon was giving him. Inuyasha's eyes remained on his enemy, before he turned his attention back to their son who continued to cry and extend his hand out to Inuyasha.

Inuyasha shook his head and shut his eyes. 'No...No more of this!' Inuyasha thought, feeling his heart ache in pain as it fought him on his decision, 'I must be free… I must be free!'

Inuyasha kept his eyes closed as he turned his head away from his child. However, Sekichou's cries only increased and sounded even more heart broken.

Observing the actions of the InuHanyou, Naraku stood still before he smirked.

He continued to walk towards the open door as he paid the crying and struggling child in his arms no mind.

"Kanna," Naraku said, to the pale incarnation that arrived with the demon guards, "Has Kagura returned with the nursemaid?"

Kanna shook her head, as Naraku went to stand beside her outside the room. In his arms while the child cried, Naraku looked back at Inuyasha, who was clearly failing in trying not to care about their child. "Well then it won't be long. If Sekichou is hungry, he'll be able to feed then, since there's no one else around to give him the attention and the care that he needs." At this, Inuyasha bit his bottom lip, but still kept his eyes closed and his head turned away.

"Goodbye Inuyasha." Naraku said with a mocking smirk on his face, "Do take care of yourself in the afterlife."

And with that, Naraku closed the door and walked away with Kanna, leaving the demon guards outside the room door.

As the sound of the baby's cries began to sound further away, Inuyasha opened his eyes and looked back toward the direction of the now closed door.

Still being able to hear the cries of his child, who sounded like he was down the hall in another room from him, Inuyasha just got on his knees and aimed his claws to the side of his neck.

'I'm sorry,' Inuyasha thought, as he closed his eyes and braced himself for what was to come. 'I'm sorry my son, but I can't do this anymore. I can't do this anymore. You're in your father's hands now. He'll take care of you.'

Inuyasha readied his hand from a sufficient distance, before bringing it fast toward the side of his neck. However, before his claws could touch the artery on the side of his neck, the image of Sekichou looking at him with glassy crimson eyes that had tears running down his little face flashed through Inuyasha's mind. Inuyasha's heart ached as he remembered how desperately his son extended his hand, pleading with Inuyasha to come and pick him up. Even now, Inuyasha extended his hand in the midst of the empty room, as if he wanted to grab hold of the hand that Sekichou had extended to him earlier.

Suddenly, Inuyasha remembered the cold and indifferent look that Naraku gave Sekichou as their son cried in his arms. In fact, Naraku just paid attention to what Inuyasha would do instead of attending to the needs of the crying child in his arms. 'Na...Naraku…' Inuyasha thought, as his heart began to pound hard against his chest. 'He wouldn't right…. He wouldn't...but that's his son…'

As the cry of Sekichou continued to ring in the air, Inuyasha opened his eyes and got on his feet. He ran to the door of his room and slid it open to leave, however before he could go anywhere, the demon guards roughly pushed him back inside the room.

"Where do you think you're going half breed?!" One of the guards growled, "We have orders to keep you in here. So stay inside!"

"Get out of my way, or die!" Inuyasha demanded out, as he got back up and prepared his claws for an attack, "Iron reaper soul stealer!"

However, instead of his claws to work against the guards, a barrier suddenly formed between the door of the room and the demon guards and absorbed Inuyasha's attack. 'What the hell…' Inuyasha thought as he stared at the barrier in shock. 'Where the hell did that come from?'

Inuyasha continued to try to attack the demon guards but only managed to have his attacks absorbed by the barrier that stood between the guards and himself instead.

"Don't you get it half breed?" One of the guards sneered, "Your attacks don't work against us. So why don't you just do us all a favor and go back inside your room."

"Let me see Naraku!" Inuyasha demanded as he pounded against the barrier, "Let me see Naraku you bastards!"

The demon guards, seeing that Inuyasha was not a threat because of the barrier that had kept him trapped inside the room, just simply ignored him and continued to stand on guard in front of the door.

"Get me out of here dammit!" Inuyasha demanded as he continued to pound against the barrier. "Get me out of here!"

"My, my, my…" Came the mocking voice of Naraku as he walked out of the darkness and approached the now open door, "Aren't you quite lively for someone who is dead. Or did you suddenly have a change of heart, Inuyasha?"

"Damn you Naraku!" Inuyasha shouted as he glared at the spider demon who now stood between the guards. "Let me see Sekichou. Let me see my son!"

"Your son?" Naraku said, with a devilish look on his face, "I thought you could care less about what happened to him, since you refused to provide our sonthe proper nutrition that he needs to survive."

"Go to hell Naraku. I had no choice!" Inuyasha retorted, his heart twisting in guilt at his actions. "I don't want to live anymore if I have to be with you!"

"Then what is stopping you?" Naraku said, locking his cold crimson eyes with the InuHanyou's aggrieved golden amber ones. Naraku stopped right before the barrier that surrounded the InuHanyou, "Go ahead and die. I'm not going to stop you Inuyasha for in death, that's when you will be forever free from me."

At the thought of his freedom, Inuyasha's heart leaped for joy, but the feelings of guilt immediately crept up like a shadow and held his heart tight.

Seeing the look of conflict that settled on the InuHanyou's face, Naraku said, "What's this now? Earlier you didn't seem to care about our son's well being and what he will do without you, but now you care. How peculiar of you Inuyasha."

"You never were going to let me see him grow up, Naraku!" Inuyasha hissed, "You know damn well, you weren't. So don't you dare use that against me!"

"Ah, so I was." Naraku admitted with a smirk, "But what does that matter to you since you're supposed to be dead. Can't have both now, can we?"

Inuyasha wanted to say a retort, but decided not to play the spider demon's game, "Why is our son crying Naraku?"

"Probably because he's hungry." Naraku said, with the tone of indifference in his voice as he ignored the previous events that happened only a few moments ago.

Noticing how nonchalant the tone sounded, Inuyasha's glare towards the spider demon became more hateful, "Or he could be upset that he was suddenly separated from his mother."

"Too bad his mother is not around to care for him." Naraku said, the smirk still on his face, "Poor boy."

"Yeah, poor boy indeed since his father clearly doesn't give a damn about him." Inuyasha shot back. "Stop fucking around and give me back Sekichou, Naraku."

"As I have stated before…" Naraku continued, "What good can the dead do for someone who is living?"

"Well I'm still alive so give me Sekichou so I can feed him." Inuyasha said,"I'll kill myself afterwards."

"No, no, no," Naraku said, much to Inuyasha's dismay "I'm afraid that, that won't do. There is no reason why a person who is soon to be dead should be looking after my child in any way. I don't wish for that person to drag my child into the gates of hell with them."

"Naraku!" Inuyasha finally realized where Naraku was getting at, "Let me see Sekichou! Let me see our son!"

"I think not Inuyasha." Naraku coldly said, "Remember I said that you were now dead to me. Now either of the dead or soon to be one, the dead cannot see their loved ones!"

"Stop fucking around Naraku and let me see our son!" Inuyasha demanded, his heart racing in fear as he now understood where the spider demon was getting to. "Let me see Sekichou!"

At this, Naraku simply chuckled before walking away toward another direction of the hall—away from Inuyasha.

"Naraku!" Inuyasha calls after the spider demon, "Naraku come back over here. Let me see Sekichou! Let me see him!"

Then there was nothing but the darkness surrounding Inuyasha as he left with the two guards. His ears filled with the sound of Sekichou loudly crying. Inuyasha pounded on the barrier a few more times, before he found himself out of breath and without enough energy or strength to even stand. Inuyasha leaned against the barrier before finding a place to sit on the floor.

Feeling a bit weak and dizzy from the lack of strength, Inuyasha tried to steady himself, but Sekichou's cries of distress kept bringing Inuyasha's focus away from himself and back to his son.

Inuyasha forced himself to stand up once more but found himself leaning on the barrier.

"Naraku!" Inuyasha called out, wishing that the spider demon was nearby, "Naraku!"

Suddenly a human woman accompanied by Naraku and Kagura walked past his door. Upon seeing her, Inuyasha was initially confused but seeing the way the spider demon and wind sorceress walk besides her, Inuyasha immediately realized who the human might be. Could she be the nursing maid for Sekichou?

Upon coming to that realization, Inuyasha felt a sense of relief that now that his son will be able to feed now that the nurse maid has come. However, as a few minutes go by, Sekichou's unceasing crying continues as if the nurse maid had still not arrived. Inuyasha didn't even realize that he was waiting. He waited a few more moments before he started to wonder what was going on.

"Naraku!" Inuyasha calls out, pounding his fist on the barrier, "What is going on with Sekichou? Why is he still crying? Naraku!"

Suddenly, the two demon guards stepped aside as the spider demon soon appeared before the barrier.

"That's because the boy refuses to drink the milk of the nursemaid." Naraku said with a look of slight annoyance, "It seems that he would rather drink the milk of his mother."

"That's fine. I'm still here, Naraku!" Inuyasha said, almost desperately as he now wanted nothing more but to provide relief to his child, "Give me Sekichou. Let me feed him!"

"Inuyasha, as I am sure you have heard me stated several times now." Naraku calmly repeated but this time with a stone cold face, "Since you have made the decision to die, you are therefore dead to me. And since that is the case, I can not allow you to see our son, since you do not exist anymore. So if Sekichou continues with this behavior of refusing the milk of the nurse maid, it seems that eventually he will follow you into the land of the dead. Not because I will do anything to him, but because an infant like him can go only so long without milk."

Taking in the horrified look on Inuyasha's face, Naraku reached past the barrier, slid the door of Inuyasha's room closed, before walking away. Inuyasha stared shocked at the closed door not knowing what to do. Here he was trapped in this room with no way out other than to kill himself. However, killing himself was the last thing he wanted to do right now, even though he refused to live under Naraku's control anymore. For his thoughts were all concerned with helping his baby. So with no way to do that, Inuyasha decided to wait it out. Once he heard the sound of the nursemaid's footsteps leaving, no longer sensed her, and could hear the sounds of his child sleeping, then he would kill himself.

So Inuyasha sat still waiting for the moment when he was sure that all was well with Sekichou for it was only a matter of time now.

Suddenly an hour went by before a few more hours did the same. However, no matter how much time passed, the cries of Sekichou refused to die down until suddenly it did. Sekichou had cried for almost a whole day now without rest, so for him to suddenly calm down was strange to Sekichou had cried earlier, Inuyasha was worried that his son's throat may dry out. It did for a while as Sekichou coughed a few times before he cried even louder. Inuyasha was sure that Sekichou was surely red in the face from all of this excessive crying. So when it finally did die down, Inuyasha couldn't help but be worried.

Yeah, he said that he would kill himself now once he was sure that he heard the nurse maid's footsteps walking away and his child sleeping, but he heard none of those. It was just silent. Completely silent as if there was no one else but him and the two demon guards.

As Inuyasha pondered these thoughts, he heard two sets of approaching footsteps. Since they sounded different from the spider demon's Inuyasha stood up and slid the door open. Outside, he was greeted by the backs of the two orge demon guards who ignored him since the barrier trapped him inside the room. Moving as much as the barrier could allow him and looking at the hall from between the demon guards, Inuyasha saw the nurse maid walk past his room with a solemn look on her face. She had a downcast gaze as she walked beside the wind sorceress who had a look of indifference on her face.

Without a word, those two walked by Inuyasha's room in silence before they and their footsteps disappeared into the dark hallway without a trace.

And just like that, it became silent once again. Inuyasha strained to hear for his child's snores to indicate that he was sleeping, but Inuyasha could hear nothing.

Suddenly, another set of footsteps appeared walking on the creaking wooden floors. Inuyasha immediately turned his attention to the direction where he heard those footsteps coming from.

As Inuyasha expected, Naraku emerged out of the dark hallway. He walked towards the open door of Inuyasha's room. The two demon guards step aside as Naraku moved to stand before Inuyasha. At the sight of the spider demon, Inuyasha noticed how callous and blank his enemy's face looked. Naraku's arms were empty and laid by his sides. However, the thing that bothered Inuyasha the most was the silence that accompanied Naraku's solemn presence.

"...Naraku" Inuyasha found himself saying, his heart began to beat slowly, "What happened to Sekichou? How come he stopped crying?"

Naraku remained silent as he kept his eyes on Inuyasha. The barrier between the two vanishes as Naraku steps inside the room, his countenance the same as it was before.

Assuming the worst, Inuyasha shook his head, "Naraku, How come you're not saying anything? What happened to Sekichou? How come he isn't crying anymore?"

As Naraku remained silent, Inuyasha reached over and grabbed two fistfuls of the spider demon's clothing and pressed his body against the other's.

"Naraku, answer me." Inuyasha demanded, "What happened to our son?"

However, Naraku didn't answer. Instead he just continued to give the InuHanyou nothing but a cold blank stare. His expression was devoid of any kind of emotion.

Getting nothing but a cold blank stare from the spider demon, Inuyasha felt his heart drop as he feared the worst.

Inuyasha's heart pounded hard against his chest, as he froze, Inuyasha looked at the door behind Naraku as he shook his head in disbelief.

"Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" Inuyasha asked, his beautiful golden amber eyes filling with tears, "Naraku, what happened to our son?"

After getting nothing but sombering silence from the spider demon, it finally became clear to Inuyasha what had happened to his child.

Unable to process his shock anymore, Inuyasha shook his head in disbelief before his knees gave out. Landing knees first to the ground, tears fell from Inuyasha's eyes before he used his hand to cover his mouth. Then he began to weep bitterly. He had lost his son. His precious and beloved son died a horrible death while Inuyasha was right there hearing him cry himself to death. Inuyasha was so shocked and so horrified at what just happened, he fell to the floor and sobbed bitter tears.

Naraku who stood over Inuyasha just continued to give the heaving back InuHanyou a blank stare before he knelt down to face Inuyasha.

As if sensing the moment the spider demon knelt down to his level, Inuyasha suddenly sat up and slapped Naraku hard on the face.

"You're such a fucking bastard Naraku." Inuyasha managed to say through his sobs with such hatred. Angry amber golden eyes glittering over with tears locked eyes with surprised crismon eyes "You're such a fucking bastard. He was our son and you wouldn't even let me take care of him!"

"You wouldn't even let me take care of him all because you wanted to teach me a lesson. A FUCKING LESSON!" Inuyasha cried loudly, taking his grief out on Naraku's chest as he began to pound the other demon's chest with his chest repeatedly. "You wouldn't even let me take care of him all because I wanted to be free from you. I hate you Naraku. I hate you so much!"

Inuyasha continued to pound his fists against Naraku's chest much to the spider demon's surprise. Inuyasha continued to do this until his tears became too much to a point where he couldn't bear to talk anymore. Instead, he just sobbed. Inuyasha sobbed bitterly into Naraku's chest with his fist grabbing hold of the spider demon's clothing.

Naraku, surprised by Inuyasha's behavior, found himself at odds as said InuHanyou's body racked with sobs in his arms. Suddenly the strange feelings of guilt and pity washed all over Naraku, before his hands moved to comfort the InuHanyou. As his hands were about to touch Inuyasha's heaving back, Naraku froze. Naraku's hands hovered over Inuyasha's back for just a moment before he lightly clenched his hands and brought them back down to his sides.

Naraku sat still with Inuyasha crying on his chest for a few more seconds before asking, "Inuyasha, why are you making all this commotion for our son who is merely sleeping?"

It didn't happen right away, but as if Inuyasha was processing what Naraku had just said to him, his cries slowly died down. Then suddenly Inuyasha looked up and beautiful amber golden eyes that still had tears pooled up in his eyes met nonchalant crimson eyes. Not liking how the InuHanyou's eyes made him feel, Naraku looked away from Inuyasha and settled on keeping his gaze elsewhere.

"Our son is still alive?" Inuyasha said, completely surprised at what he was hearing, "Sei-Chan is just sleeping?"

Still keeping his elsewhere, Naraku made a sound of agreement, before he continued, "Where did you ever get the ridiculous idea that Sekichou had died after crying for only a few hours?"

Trying to come up with an answer, Inuyasha could only sniffle in response until he found his voice. "But…But… I thought… I thought…." Before he began to sob again, but this time in relief. Before Naraku could say anything he found himself with Inuyasha sobbing against his chest once more.

"Thank Gods… I thought he died!" Inuyasha cried out in relief, "I thought he had died, my precious child!"

Naraku remained there with Inuyasha against his chest for a few moments before Inuyasha looked up at him again, "Naraku!" Causing the said spider demon to meet his eyes briefly before looking away, "Let me see him. Let me see Sei-Chan!"

Still keeping his eyes elsewhere, Naraku nodded his head in agreement and called forth his pale incarnation. As expected, Kanna came as soon as she possibly could with the sleeping infant in her arms. She walked past the ogre demons who were no longer standing by the door to Inuyasha's room.

Upon seeing his son, Inuyasha moved away from the spider demon to get his child from the pale incarnation who briefly glanced over to her master who just nodded his head.

Finally being able to hold his son after so long, a warm smile graced Inuyasha's face as he gently hugged the sleeping child. "Sei-Chan, papa finally has you again." Rubbing his nose against his child's nose, Inuyasha asked, "I can't believe that I didn't realize that he would fall asleep after crying his little eyes out so much. But how come I didn't hear him snoring? Usually when he falls asleep with me, he lets out these little light snores."

"That's because I had closed the door so he wouldn't be able to be woken up by any noise outside. Since it took a long time before he was finally able to sleep." Naraku said, knowing what Inuyasha was going to ask next, "The nurse maid was only able to feed him after his cries were dying down and he was beginning to fall asleep."

"Is that so?" Inuyasha asked, not looking like he was paying attention to the words of the spider demon anymore. Naraku noticed this and turned his eyes back towards the InuHanyou. Inuyasha looked tired carrying a sleeping Sekichou in his arms, but didn't look like he cared. Inuyasha appeared to only be glad that the child was in his arms once again.

Tearing his eyes from the scene before him, Naraku quietly called Kanna over to him. Naraku directed her attention to Inuyasha and Kanna already knew what to do. Kanna excused herself from her master and left the room.

Deciding that it was time for him to leave, Naraku stood up while keeping his eyes on Inuyasha and his son.

Noticing the spider demon suddenly getting up, Inuyasha instinctively almost did the same before Naraku stopped him.

"Inuyasha, I think it's time we made some changes to our deal, don't you agree?" Naraku said, not as a question, but as a statement.

Inuyasha closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew that this was coming.

"From now on, wishing to die and trying to do anything to get yourself killed is another form of escaping that violates our deal." Naraku said, giving a hard look to the InuHanyou who now opened his eyes to meet the spider demon's, "If you do that again, along with trying to escape, I will make your life a living hell. Understood Inuyasha?"

Getting only silence and a glare from the InuHanyou, Naraku repeated himself, "Did I make myself clear Inuyasha?"

Glaring hard at the spider demon, Inuyasha stopped before switching to give his enemy a tired look instead, "Yes."

"Good." Naraku said, "Now by the time I come back, you better eat the food that Kanna brings you, not just tonight, but every night. Am I understood, Inuyasha?"

"Yes." Came the tired reply came from the InuHanyou.

As if pleased by this, Naraku turned to leave before he was stopped by the other demon who called his name.

"Naraku, before you go I want you to answer me this," Inuyasha said, "Killing me and not allowing me to see our son grow up was what you wanted. That was why you went through all this trouble of changing my room, removing the chains around my body and the guards from in front of my door. So why did you change your mind, when I know you want nothing more than my demise?"

At this, Naraku paused before he said an answer that came out as naturally as it appeared.

"It's more amusing to keep you alive than to give you the death that you so desperately want. So for the moment, I have decided to keep you alive for as long as I want." Naraku said, not at all minding the hateful glare that the InuHanyou gave him, "But rest assured Inuyasha, one day, I will kill you. You will die by my hands and I will relish the look of your eyes losing its light as your face grows pale. But until that day comes, you are mine."

With that, Naraku walked out of the room, closed the door and left the Inuyasha to his thoughts.

Staring at the now closed door and taking in what just happened, Inuyasha sighed heavily. Looks like he won't be able to be free from Naraku for a while now. At least, Naraku plans to kill him one day. However, it is probably a day during a time where Inuyasha might not want to die. 'Should I prepare myself for death each day, so I won't give that bastard the satisfaction of causing me to be miserable in death? The gods know that Naraku has already seen enough of me not at my best moments.' Inuyasha looked down enough that his bangs covered his eyes, 'I wish that one day, I will be able to finally rest and escape from Naraku and this shame that I have face from everyone of being his whore.'

As if the child could hear his mother's thoughts, Sekichou opened his eyes and looked up at Inuyasha. Happy at the sight of finally being reunited with his mother, Sekichou made a squeal of happiness, immediately drawing Inuyasha's attention to him.

Surprised amber golden eyes meeting wide crimson eyes, Inuyasha gave his child a warm smile as he leaned forward and gave Sekichou a kiss on the forehead.

'I guess I'll put up everything for Sei-Chan's sake for now.' Inuyasha thought as his child began to squeal and giggle in happiness.

Elsewhere in the dimly lit corridor, Naraku walked in silence as he thought back on the words of Inuyasha.

"Killing me and not allowing me to see our son grow up was what you wanted. That was why you went through all this trouble of changing my room, removing the chains around my body and the guards from in front of my door. So why did you change your mind, when I know you want nothing more than my demise?"

'It seems that allowing Inuyasha to die is not something I truly desire, but why?' Naraku thinking back to how he felt when he almost pierced the inuHanyou's chest with his tentacle. 'For some reason, I feel as though I would deeply regret killing Inuyasha, but why? What is the reason why his possible death bothers me so much? Could what I said earlier truly be the reason why I don't want Inuyasha to die?'

Suddenly the image of Inuyasha's tear-stricken face flashed before his eyes. At the sight of this, Naraku stopped walking as he remained where he stood in the hall. The sight of Inuyasha's warm beautiful amber golden eyes that gazed tenderly upon his son as a smile graced his features suddenly appeared in Naraku's mind. Although Inuyasha had looked tired and disheveled after everything that had happened, he still looked absolutely radiant at that moment. And when Inuyasha was against his chest earlier, Naraku remembered how warm Inuyasha felt.

In that same moment, Naraku remembered how he felt in that moment where the strange feelings of guilt and pity washed all over him. It was under the influence of those emotions, Naraku felt the growing need to move his hands and comfort a sobbing Inuyasha.

'Why did I feel that way towards Inuyasha?' Naraku, thinking back on the possible reason behind his actions at the time. 'Hmm… It seems that Inuyasha arouses me in ways that I didn't expect, but why?' Naraku thought as he took note of how he felt around Inuyasha.

Intrigued by this new development, Naraku decided on an idea, 'Perhaps I will leave Inuyasha alone over the course of the next few days. During that time period, I will see how I feel about him and what is causing those feelings towards him?"

With that in mind, Naraku continued walking down the dimly lit corridor.
