Chapter 32
"So Camie, have you figured which schools you're going to apply to next year?" Jo asked as she picked the onions off her slice of pizza and putting them on the slice in front of Dean.
"I'm looking at Berkeley actually."
"California…that's awesome."
"Yeah hopefully if I get in and if Sam gets into Sanford we'll only be an hour away from each other." She added as she took a bite of her pizza.
Dean's head shot up, "Stanford?"
Sam looked over to Jo and begged her with his eyes for help. "Well umm…"
Jo reached over and combed her fingers through Dean's hair, "this might not be the best time to discuss this."
Dean turned his attention towards Jo, "did you know about this?"
Jo shook her head, "let's go get some drinks,"
Dean stood up as Jo tugged on his hand, "Jo…" he said as he followed her.
"I didn't know, I swear but you can't tell me that it's a surprise. You must have known Sam would want to go to college." Jo argued.
"Yeah I figured he go to Augustana University here in Sioux Falls not head to California. That way he could do hunts in between semesters"
Jo sighed, "Dean…you know that was never going to happen. Sam doesn't want to go into the 'family' business."
"Dad and I were hoping he would outgrow that nonsense," Dean said as he signal the bartender. "Can I get beer and three Sprites."
"I need some ID," the grisly man behind the bar said.
Dean rolled his eyes as he dug out his wallet and his fake id stating he was 23, "can I get that beer now."
"Yeah…yeah," he said as he passed the ID back and went to fill the order.
"Nice to see your putting you special talents to good use," Jo teased after the man headed towards the other end of the bar to fill the soda order.
Dean grinned at Jo as he pulled a second ID out of his wallet and slipped it to her. "Next time we go out, I say we leave the kids at home."
Jo looked down at the ID and had to smile. "Maybe…of course if Uncle Bobby finds out he'll probable smack you upside you head."
"Probable," he agreed as he gave her a quick kiss before looking over her shoulder towards his brother and Camie. "Has Sammy been talking to you about this?"
"Well I knew he wanted to go to college but not in California."
"And about not wanting to be part of the 'family' business?" He asked as he took a swig of his beer.
"He confessed it to me the other night while you were playing with CJ," she told him. "Dean you know he never took to it like us."
Dean blew out the breath he was holding, "I know but the Old Man is gonna be pissed."
"Gemma is gonna be happy though, she won't have to worry about Sam." Jo countered.
"Yeah…like Mom isn't gonna worry about her baby boy being in California by himself," he snorted in amusement.
Jo gave a slight nod in agreement before looking over her shoulder and saw the way Sam and Camie were watching them. "Come on, we should head back."
The two couples enjoyed the remainder of the evening before they dropped Camie off. Dean pulled up in front of the Winchester's home. "End of the line kid," Dean said as he turned and looked into the back seat.
"Aren't you going to drive Jo home?"
"I am but I'm dropping you off first," Dean explained.
Sam nodded his head as he reached down to open the back door before stopping and looking up at his brother, "Dean…you're not going to fink me out to Mom and Dad are you?"
Dean shared a look with Jo before he shook his head, "look I'm not going to pretend I get it but you want to be treated more like an adult Sam then grow a set and talk to Mom and Dad…tell them what you're planning."
Jo wince at the Dean words before looking behind her, "he might not be eloquent but he's right. You need to talk to John and Gemma."
"Easy for you two to say," he huffed.
"What the Hell is that supposed to mean?" Dean snapped.
"Never mind," Sam mumbled.
"Don't never mind me. What are you talking about?" Dean insisted.
Sam looked up into his brother's eyes and Dean swallowed when he saw the tears threatening to spill. "I'm nothing but a disappointment. I've never been able to keep up with you during training. Hell Jo's can outshot me and Dad makes a point of holding that over my head all the time."
"Dude, that's how Dad thinks he encouraging us. Do you know how much I have to listen about you being better at research and Latin than me?"
Sam's head shot up, "you do?"
"Oh boy does he," Jo quipped. "I get it from Uncle Bobby too…'Joanna Beth you need to be able to recite the damn exorcism without pulling out a book cuz a demon isn't gonna wait for you to look it up'." she said in her best Uncle Bobby impersonation.
"Sam you know Jo and I will always have your back…right…it'll always be us three." Dean reassured his brother.
"It's been feeling like it's just the two of you for a while," Sam told him softly.
"Come on Bro…you have a girlfriend now… you know what it's like…wanting spend time alone with Camie…well I want to spend time with Jo when I'm home."
Sam nodded his head, "I get it."
"Good now get out of the car so I can take my girl home." He teased.
It was Sam's turn to roll his eyes, "yeah…yeah. Should I tell Mom not to bother to wait up for you."
"Night Sam," Dean said with a warning look.
"Night," the younger man said as he got out of the and jogged up the front steps.
"So that's what tonight was about? The double date was supposed to be quality time with Sam?"
Jo smiled, "he's feeling left out Dean."
Dean reached over and took Jo's hand in his. "He needs to understand we're not little kids anymore. That you and are need our time together."
"I know and I think he knows that too." Jo reassured him as he lifted their joined hands and kissed Jo's hand. "So what is the plan for tonight?" She asked as she chewed on her lower lip.
Dean grinned as he tugged Jo towards him and kissed her before saying, "I already told Mom I was going to spend the night…in our old room of course then in the morning I'll drive the truck to the shop with the parts Bobby secured for Dad and then I'll come back after work tomorrow night."
"You're old room huh," Jo purred as she stroked his cheek tenderly.
"Un hun," Dean groaned as he watched Jo's tongue as she licked her suddenly dry lips.
"Right…well why don't we head home… Bader is probable lonely."
"Right," Dean said as he pulled away from the curb and headed towards Singer's Salvage Yard.
SPNSPNSPN
Jo moaned as she laid back on her bed and Dean was doing wicked things with his tongue that was literally driving her crazy. The past few months things had started to get more physical between them and she still blushed when she remembered the first time Dean had made her loose herself.
"Deannnn," she moaned as she felt herself ready to spiral out of control any second. Her voice urged Dean on as he could feel her legs trembling and knew she was on the verge of going over the edge into that blissful abyss and a few seconds later he was rewarded with her gasping in pleasure as her hips bucked as she came.
"Baby," Dean groaned as he turned and kissed her inner thigh before stretching out beside her.
"I love you Dean," Jo panted as she turned and snuggled into Dean's embrace.
"I love you too," he whispered as he kissed the crown of head.
Jo sighed as she ran her hand along Dean's arm. "I need to tell you something."
"Okay," Dean said as he sat up.
"It's not bad," Jo reassured him when she saw the concern look he was giving her. "I went to the doctor a few weeks ago…the gynecologist. I asked Uncle Bobby for permission to go on birth control."
Dean stared at Jo in shock as he sat up so that he could turn to really look at her. "Why didn't you say something before?"
Jo sighed, "this is really the first time we've been alone since you came home."
"Right," Dean said in understanding. "So…does that mean you're ready?"
Jo blushed as she gave Dean a smile, "I think so…I just know it's getting harder and harder when you leave. I… I want to be with you so much Dean."
Dean smiled as he entwined their hands, "I know what you mean about it getting harder when I leave…it's why I decided to take a break from hunting."
Jo smiled as she leaned forward and kissed Dean, "so…?" Jo purred as she scooted closer.
Dean swallowed the lump in his throat as he realized what Jo was saying. "Are you sure? I mean it's a huge step Jo."
Jo nodded her head, "I'm sure. Dean this…us….it just feels right. I want to be with you…completely." She told him; she ducked her head slightly suddenly feeling a little unsure when Dean didn't say anything. "If you don't want to…"
Dean's eyes widened at what Jo was saying and he quickly leaned over and kissed her, "God Jo…of course I do. I've wanted to make love with you for so long but I don't want you to feel pressured…I mean…well you know."
"Dean, I feel anything but pressured with you," Jo said as her self-doubt vanished.
He reached out and cupped her cheek, "God I love you." He whispered as he gently lowered her back down on the bed as the young couple took the next step in their relationship.
