"You knew the whole time didn't you" asked the stone guardian.
"Yes" said Konoka nodding her head.
"Why didn't you try to stop them" asked the stone guardian.
"We tried and it didn't work," said Setsuna.
"So, we came to make sure they didn't get hurt doing something stupid" she added.
"Why didn't you help them then" asked the stone guardian.
"Are you asking why I didn't break the law" asked Konoka?
"It is your fault they fell," said Yue.
"You changed the character the Asuna was going to touch making her think she got it wrong" she explained.
"Why would you do that" asked Konoka?
"I ran out of questions" said the stone guardian sheepishly.
"They were smarter than you thought," said Setsuna.
"Yes" said the stone guardian nodding his head.
"But I still wanted to teach them the lesson that there are no shortcuts to learning" he explained.
"Are they going to be ok" asked Gabrielle.
"They will be fine" said the stone guardian.
"I put a barrier at the bottom to slow them down and they will have enough supplies to last the weekend" he explained.
"Besides, Negi is with them" he added.
"He sealed his magic" said Konoka.
"WHAT" yelled the stone guardian!
"Why would he do that" he shouted.
"It's his latest overreaction to using magic to solve everything," said Setsuna.
"I am going to have a serious conversation with that boy" grumbled the stone guardian.
"We're ready" said Konoka.
A phoenix appeared in a burst of fire and Konoka, Setsuna, Gabrielle, and Yue grabbed onto him before they disappeared in a burst of fire. They appeared before Nodoka and Haruna, who grabbed on, and disappeared again. They appeared in Nodoka's, Yue's, and Haruna's room and dropped them off. They then appeared in Setsuna's and Rose's room as Rose changed back.
"I will be spending the weekend with you" said Konoka.
Setsuna just nodded her head at that.
"I will go expand your bed Setsuna," said Rose.
On Monday morning, Negi, Asuna, Ku Fei, Makie, and Kazumi ran into their classroom just before they started their exams.
"That is cutting it really close" thought Konoka.
Once their results came back, they found out that their class was one of the top classes.
"I guess that Negi is staying after all," said Rose.
"Do you think he will get his own room now" asked Gabrielle?
"Probably not" said Konoka.
"Grandpa loves playing matchmaker" she added.
On the last day of the semester the class threw a party for being one of the top classes. The next morning, Konoka started packing to leave for the school break.
"You are leaving for school break" asked Asuna.
"Yep" said Konoka happily.
"I am going to visit my fiancé" she said.
"You're engaged" exclaimed Negi.
"Yes" said Konoka happily.
"Grandpa set it up last year" she said.
"Isn't he related to Rose" asked Asuna.
"They're cousins" said Konoka.
She finished packing and got ready to leave.
"Try not to have too much fun with Negi while I am gone Asuna" said Konoka.
"Konoka" shouted Asuna.
Konoka only giggled as she left their room.
She went to their usual meet up spot and waited for everyone to show up. Once everyone showed up, Rose changed into a phoenix, and they all grabbed on before disappearing in a burst of fire. They appeared at Rose's house as she changed back, and everyone went to their rooms to drop off their things.
Once everyone settled, Harry asked everyone to change into their training clothes and go to the backyard. Everyone picked up their training weapons as Evangeline sat off to the side to watch the show.
Mana and Harry stood in front of everyone as they got ready.
"Come" said Mana.
"Show us how far you have come," said Harry.
They all charged forward and started to fight Mana and Harry.
Gabrielle was the first knocked out by Harry. The next knocked out were Haruna, Yue, and Nodoka by Mana. With Nodoka surviving the longest. Chao was the next one that Mana knocked out with her ending up tying with Kaede. Harry wound up knocking Konoka and Setsuna together, taking them out.
Once everyone recovered, they all went back into the house and sat down in the living room.
"You all did well," said Harry.
"We are going to have to up your training" said Mana looking at Nodoka, Yue, and Haruna.
"I thought we did well" said Nodoka.
"You did, but you should be able to keep up with the others," said Mana.
"We haven't been training all our lives" huffed Haruna.
"That is why we are going to up your training," said Mana.
"You aren't signaling out Gabrielle" said Haruna.
"That is because she is younger and started after you," said Mana.
"She also has her magic and Veela abilities to fall back on" she added.
"You three have nothing to fall back on, hence pushing you harder" she finished.
"I have a feeling that things are about to get serious, and I want us to be ready," said Harry.
"The brat is going to be a catalyst just like his father was and drag our class into it," said Evangeline.
"That is correct," said Chao.
"That is why they are so well known in the future" she said.
"What is going to happen" asked Harry.
"Mundus Magicus is unstable and going to collapse," said Chao.
"WHAT" yelled Evangeline!
"How is that even possible" asked Mana.
"We don't really know" said Chao shaking her head.
"We think it was a result of the Great Mage War" she explained.
Seeing the confused faces, Evangeline explained "It is what made Him famous."
"How would revealing magic to the world fix that" asked Harry.
"By giving everyone a place to go," said Chao.
"I thought with a place escape to, everyone would stop blaming each other and actually work on the issue" she explained.
"I never thought it would make it even worse and destroy it even quicker" she cried.
Harry got up and went over to Chao to pick her up before sitting down holding her. Chao started crying on Harry's shoulder.
"I told you I would help you fix this," said Harry.
"We can go investigate this next summer" he said.
Chao just nodded her head.
Once she had calmed down, Konoka asked "Why did you make all those Mars references?"
"Mundus Magicus is based on and anchored to Mars," said Chao.
"That's means when it collapses…" exclaimed Nodoka.
"Everyone will be dumped onto Mars and die" finished Yue.
"Yes" said Chao sadly.
Once the school break was over, they all returned to Mahora. Only to see Negi chased around by their class again.
"I still think he has Veela heritage," said Rose.
"It's impossible" exclaimed Gabrielle.
"What did the brat do this time" asked Evangeline?
Rose closed her eyes and reached out into the Force.
"He got a letter from his sister who asked he if has found a partner yet" explained Rose.
"Asuna asked about that, and Negi explained it to her" she continued.
"The twins overhead him and misinterpreted it as him looking for a girlfriend and it spiraled out of control from there" she finished opening her eyes.
"Maybe there is some truth to Rose's statement" said Haruna.
"Not everyone in our class was this bad before" she said.
Gabrielle just growled and tossed tiny fireballs at them.
"Watch it" shouted Haruna jumping back.
Once class started again, Evangeline and Rose were called to see the Dean. They went to his office after class was over and sat down.
"What do you want" asked Evangeline grumbling?
"I would like your assistance in testing Negi" said Konoemon.
"What am I allowed to do to him" asked Evangeline?
"He must be able to fully recover, physically and mentally, from it with no lasting effects" said Konoemon.
"Also only involve your friends in this to limit exposure" he added.
"I'll do it" said Evangeline smirking.
"Excellent" said Konoemon smiling.
"You may start as soon as you want, but I would like the 'Final Battle' to take place during the blackout" he said.
"That's acceptable," said Evangeline.
Rose's eyes narrowed at that as she pulled Evangeline into her arms and hugged her.
"Eva-chan is mine" growled Rose.
"No one can have her" she said.
"What are you doing" shouted Evangeline struggling.
"He doesn't want to only test Negi's strength and determination, but his compassion as well," said Rose.
"He was going to make the blackout end sooner than usual thus cutting off your power in the middle of the battle" she explained.
"WHAT" yelled Evangeline!
She then started glaring at Konoemon who looked down in shame at getting caught.
"I refuse to do it then" growled Evangeline.
"I am not going to play games with you just to mess with the brat" she said.
"I will not do that then" said Konoemon.
"Chao will join the team doing the maintenance on the generators and will be in charge of turning them back on," said Rose.
"I will tell her when the battle is over" she said.
"Alright" said Konoemon sadly.
"I will do it then," said Evangeline.
Rose then got up still hugging Evangeline.
"Are you going to put me down" exclaimed Evangeline?
"Fine" said Rose pouting.
Rose let go of Evangeline who landed on the ground with a huff and left the Dean's office with Rose smiling behind her.
