And after finishing that chapter for Fate/Twin Roses, it is time to go back to my other famous story! Hello everyone! Bluestar here with a new chapter! This time there's not much I have to say, just that in this chapter a beloved character from Xros Wars will return and join our group with some intense scenes that I think they turned out pretty well! Wow…it's strange to make a short introduction…well…there wasn't anything important to say so…enjoy!

Chapter 5: A Rivals' Quarrel

It was night in the Evolution Digital World. Not far from the Server continent…there was a city that had a futuristic look and that was inhabited mostly by mechanic or robotic Digimon. Thanks to their high technology, those creatures could live at the best of their lives in that city that was known as Mechatropolis, one of the most industrialized zones of the Digital World.

But unfortunately, that peace would soon be over…since the Black Rose already set their sights on it.

[Dragon Ball Z OST – Kyoufu No Ginyu Tokusentai]

That night, a lot of explosions could be seen, and the city was illuminated not from its artificial lights, but from the fire of the enemy.

Tons of squadrons made by Sealsdramon that worked for the Black Rose were marching on the road with the intend to take over the zone.

The Digimon that lived in the city tried to oppose them. "Gatling Missile!" Four Digimon known as Andromon tried to stop them, but the Sealsdramon were fast enough to dodge the missiles and ran towards them. "Death Behind!" They quickly went on Andromon's back and stabbed them with their knives, making the Andromon disappear in data.

In the meantime, other servants of the Black Rose were handling the occupation of the city. "Side Winder! /Genocide Gear!" Other Digimon known Pteranomon and Gigadramon were shooting missles at the buildings, generating devastating explosions that made large parts of the city crumble. "Destruction Grenade!" Plus, several Digimon with their armor clad in gold known as Guardromon Gold were destroying the main roads of the city while getting controlled by the Evil Rings.

"That's it…I've had enough of this! Time to teach you a lesson!" In that moment, a dinosaur Digimon colored in grey that had many mechanics parts in his body known as MetalTyranomon tried to stand up against the invaders, as he shoots a laser beam from his left arm. "Nuclear Laser!" His attack was actually successful, and he was able to eliminate a small portion of the enemy's army. But he got soon surrounded by the rest of them. "Oh no!" He exclaimed. They soon attacked him with tons of missles making him sent a few meters away and fall to the ground. "GAAAAAAAH!"

MetalTyranomon was defencless, and the only thing he could do was to watch those mysterious invaders burn the city to the ground. "W-Why…why are they doing this…?" He wondered.

"I see that there's still someone that kept some guts." A voice suddenly said. When MetalTyranomon raised his head up to see who said that he noticed that some of those invaders were making space for someone. A Digimon much bigger than the others. This Digimon was a mechanic Dragon that had a gigantic metal body colored in a deep crimson red. He had two large cannons on his back, three long claws on the left arm and three blades on his right one. Plus, he had a sharp blade on his nose.

"Who…are you?" MetalTyranomon asked while glancing at the other mechanical Digimon. "A pleasure to meet you. I am Chaosdramon! I'm one of the Supreme Leaders that work for the organization known as the Black Rose and the boss of this conquest." The other Digimon presented himself.

"What…? Black Rose?" MetalTyranomon asked. "Yes. I have to inform you that this zone is now property of the Knight! But you don't have to worry about your conditions. Our glorious commander has good intentions for this town. In fact, he wants to make it even better! This will only be but one of the first steps that will change the two Digital Worlds, and bring them to salvation!" Chaosdramon explained.

"DON'T LIE TO ME! Do you really think that THIS can be considered our salvation!?" MetalTyranomon protested after looking all the damages the Black Rose had made in town. "It seems that you don't understand our noble ideals. And here I thought that I could have spared your life. But it seems that we won't need someone like you. The rules are clear, if you oppose us, you're down. Which means that this is goodbye for you, my little friend!" The Supreme Leader answered while pointing his two cannons at the dying MetalTyranomon, who still kept his fury and pride. "Don't think you can win that easily. There were other Digimon that tried to take over the world but they all got defeated! And you will share that same fate! The humans that saved this world once will make you pay!" He stated. Chaosdramon looked at him with a small smirk, showing that he didn't care about what he just said. "Hmm. If you say so. Bye bye now! Hyper Mungen Cannon!" He then shoot two powerful laser beams from the cannons that immediately erased MetalTyranomon. "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"A group of humans…he's probably referring to that small group of humans that started to fight against us. HA! Poor fools! If they think they can put an end to us of the Black Rose they're wrong! Our army is the greatest the two Digital Worlds had ever seen! In a matter of days, those children will be nothing more than a simple memory!" Chaosdramon said before turning around to his minions. "Continue the invasion! We have to take over the entire city and install the dark obelisk!" He ordered. The other Digimon nodded and left. "If I have to be honest, this city is actually beautiful…if I was the boss of the Black Rose, this would already be my headquarter…" He then commented.

Meanwhile, far from where the Supreme Leader was standing, two Digimon were looking at the current situation from the top of a tower, and both of them were worried.

The first one was a mechanic dinosaur Digimon that was colored in red with some parts that were of a clear blue color, like his eyes. His whole body was robotic and he even had a long cannon on his back. While the second one shared the same species as one of the enemies that the Chosen Children had faced in the past. It was a mechanic dragon Digimon with the body made of a strong armor that had a silver color. His head was black and he had two cannons on his back. This Digimon was clearly a Mugendramon, while the other one was called Rust Tyranomon.

"This is bad…we need help." Mugendramon said with a deep and huge voice. "I know…but don't worry, pal! I know someone who can help us!" Rust Tyrannomon assured him before going inside the tower and reaching a computer. He soon started to write a message that he hoped would be reached by someone. "I'm sure Daisuke and his friends will come here. I know them, they would not hesitate to reach us! Humans always come in help of Digimon!" He said.

Mugendramon turned around and saw as the city was burning down. "Friends…humans…" Even he needed that little hope. The hope for Mechatropolis to get saved.

*The logo appears*

(Just embrace the light...Cosmic Powers deep inside)

*The logo split apart before transforming into the main characters are seen leaping forward. First Daisuke and Veemon were shown standing next to each other, then to Hikari and Tailmon. Then Taichi, Yamato, Agumon and Gabumon appeared, before Koushiro and Tentomon appeared. Jou and Gomamon appeared, before Mimi and Palmon were seen. Sora and Biyomon appeared, looking up at the sky before T.K and Patamon appeared, looking down. Iori, Miyako, Armadimon and Hawkmon appeared, back to back. Taiki, Nene, Shoutmon, Sparrowmon, Kirhia and Metalgreymon appeared, and finally, Yakuza and Beelzebumon*

*Hikari appears with a sad look on her face as Ken appeared behind her, before disappearing. Hikari began to shed tears as the Digimon Emperor appears behind her and attacks the screen.*

(We will never stop! No matter the wounds we gain...)

*All the Chosen Children, including Daisuke, Taiki, Nene and Kiriha are watching the sunset from atop a hill in the digital world, before the ground crumbles and dark energy energy game out. Daisuke narrowed his eyes as he faced a dark corner, where a shadowed figure is seen, before glowing red eyes appeared in the darkness.*

(On a galattic star, we vowed to find a way!)

*Surrounded by by lots of Virus Digimon, Veemon digivolved into Magnamon, before he zoomed forward and punched a Skullgreymon in the stomach, unleashing a shockwave that blew all the enemy Digimon away. Nearby, LovelyAngemon flew past words of enemy Digimon, Giving barrages of punches that destroyed them. Above, Agumon, Bond of Courage, light his hands on fire, before thrusting them out. On the ground, BanchoLillymon swung her yoyo around her hand. Finally, OmegaShoutmon smashed through a horde of Digimon*

(Pegasus Fantasy, we'll keep on following our dreams! On the wings of our hearts, they'll never break apart!)

*Then, The Digimon Kaiser, DarkKnightmon and a shadowy figure appeared with a glare above the Digital World*

('Cause we'll forever be!)

*Daisuke and Magmamon landed with red smoke covering them, followed by Taichi, Agumon Bond of Courage, Taiki and OmegaShoutmon.*

(SAINT SEIYA! The voices within our lives!)

*Yakuza is seen disintegrating enemies with dark power, before she is seen walking away with Beelzebumon on his right with a pillar of black energy behind them*

(SAINT SEIYA! The heroes of our time, Oh yeah!)

*The main characters dash towards DarkKnightmon, covered by lights of various colors, before a light flash appeared upon clashing*

(SAINT SEIYA! On Pegasus wings we fly!)

*In a field full of fire, 5 figures were seen with their backs. One of them turned around to show Omegamon's face, but was more white than normal*

*Dasuke, Magnamon, The Chosen Children and their Digimon, along with Taiki, OmegaShoutmon, Nene, Sparrowmon, Kirhia and ZekeGreymon are seen running together, before they join in a light that became a dragon that flies around the stars. Magnamon appeared, punching twice before everyone else appeared next to him with them all striking a pose*

The next day…

[Digimon Adventure OST – Run With The Wind]

In an apartment of Tokyo, one of the Chosen Children, Yamato, could hear the alarm clock ring, so he turned it off and stood up, with still a sore expression on his face.

"Morning, Yamato!" Gabumon said from the Digivice Xros Loader. "Yo, Gabumon." His human partner simply replied before looking at the window. He could see that the sun was already high and that everyone were out in the city. "Guess it's a new day…" He then grabbed the Digivice and started to get ready for school.

Once he went to the kitchen, he could already see his father, Hiroaki Ishida, sitting on the table eating some donuts. "Oh, good morning, Yamato." He said. "Morning dad. Happy to see those donuts." Yamato replied. In that moment, by looking at him more carefully, Hiroaki noticed something. "Is it me, or your hair are starting to get sickly?" He asked.

"…Naaah. Must be your impression." Yamato answered, despite the fact that Hiroaki was clearly right. "Once you're done in the bath, brush them carefully. I wouldn't want you to be mistaken as a psychopath at school." His father then said.

The Chosen Child made a sceptic face after hearing that sentence. "Now you're exaggerating…" He said. He then took a donut and ate it before going to the bathroom.

After a short shower, Yamato said as his father told and brushed his hair. Even though…the result wasn't really one of the best. "Meh…I still look like the same…" He commented while looking at himself in the mirror.

"Well at least you tried! It's happy to see that your dad really cares about you! It seems you two became closer to each other than you were three years ago!" Gabumon said with a smile from the Digivice. "Eheh! Yeah! Well…it's also thanks to you. Ok then…it's time to go." Yamato replied.

Growing a son alone wasn't an easy task for Hiroaki in the past. Many years before, Yamato and Takeru's parents divorced, and so, the two brothers had to live separately. While Takeru went with the mother, Yamato went with the father. Since that, Yamato's childhood never been easy, especially due to the fact that his father didn't spend much time with him. But then…when Vamdemon invaded the real world three years before, Hiroaki was somehow able to know his son better, thanks to Gabumon. With that, he started to pass more time with him, and this made the Chosen Child more happy. Just like his crest, Yamato was able to increase his friendship with others.

Once out of the house, Yamato had a surprising visit. "Uh?"

"Good morning!" Sora was there, waiting for him. "Sora? What are you doing here?" The boy fairly asked. "Well I was going to school and I ended up passing in front of your house, and since there's still time before the lessons start, I thought you would have liked to walk together!" The girl replied. "Didn't expect that, uh?"

"Yeah…it's…a surprise indeed." Yamato said, still confused. "It's the first time a girl ever waited for me…" He thought. This was surely something new for him, especially coming from someone like Sora. It appeared that he wasn't the only one who changed during those three years.

And so, the two friends started to walk together. "So, how are you feeling in these days? You know, about DarkKnightmon and the rest." Sora then asked. "There's not much to say. Sure, I'm concerned of what is going to happen next, but overall…i'm feeling good. It's nice to be with Gabumon again, and I'm sure that we'll get out of this situation safe and sound." Yamato replied.

"You seem to have become more optimistic…" Sora noticed with a smirk. "Yeah…is that wrong?" The boy asked. "Eheh! Of course not! It makes me happy! Three years ago you looked more like someone who didn't want anyone in their way, so I like to see a change in your personality!" The girl said with a smile. Somehow…this made Yamato blush.

"By the way…would you have thought that now we could take more Digimon?" Sora then asked. "Never! It surely is a surprise…I don't even know what Digimon to take…" Yamato replied. While he said this, he was looking up, so he wasn't seeing what was in front of him…and as such…

"OUCH!" Both he and another person clashed against each other and fell down.

[Soul Eater OST – In His Mind]

"My head…" Yamato said while holding it. "Ngh…dammit, you should watch where you go, you moron!" The other person said, making the Chosen Child quite annoyed. "Hey! Who're you calling a moron!?" He exclaimed. By looking up, he could see a boy that probably had his same age. He had long blonde hair and he was wearing a black t-shirt over a blue leather jacket. He also wore black fingerless gloves, blue jeans and black boots. "Who do you think I'm referring to? That tree over there? Of course I'm referring to you! You can't have your heads in the clouds while walking! And you didn't even apologize!" The boy exclaimed.

"Hey! Let's dial the temperature down here! It was you who clashed against me, don't think you can get away with this!" Yamato countered. "Uhm…guys…I don't think it's that much of a deal…" Sora tried to stop them, but it was already too late.

"You think you can talk to me like that!?" The boy said, coming closer. "I can talk to you however I want, jerk! Want me to kick your ass, perhaps!?" Yamato countered. "Oh you really think you can take me!?" The boy continued. Both of them glared at each other while gritting their teeth…and then…

"THAT'S IT! I'LL KILL YOU!" They started to fight against each other, like two kids that wanted the same candy. "H-Hey! Cut it out!" Sora exclaimed.

"I'll make you eat those words, fucking blondie!" Yamato shouted. "What the hell does that mean!? You're blonde as well, jackass!" The boy answered back. The fight continued for a while, but luckily someone came by to stop the two of them.

"HEY, YAMATO! STOP IT!" Taichi exclaimed while pushing back his friend. "KIRIHA, ENOUGH!" Taiki shouted as well while blocking the other friend.

"GET OFF ME! LET ME GO AT HIM!" Both Yamato and the other boy yelled while trying to get free. "What the hell is going on here!?" Daisuke exclaimed. He came in with both Taichi and Hikari, so he saw as well the scene. "Oh dear…it had been a while since I last saw Yamato fighting with someone…" Hikari added.

"Yamato, calm down! Seriously, what's gotten into you!?" Taichi asked, wanting to know answer for that sudden behavior. "It's this fucker who tries to tell me what to do!" The other Chosen Child answered, pointing at the boy named Kiriha.

"…Kiriha? He annoyed you?" Taiki asked. "It's your fault if you don't know where you're going!" Kiriha retorted. "Ok, ok! That's enough for both of you guys. I think we all started with the wrong foot here. How about we start over?" Daisuke then proposed. "HELL NO!" Both Yamato and Kiriha shouted at him. "…I've tried-" The red-haired guy commented.

"Wait a second…you know this guy!?" Yamato exclaimed. "Yes! He's Kiriha Aonuma, the former leader of the Blue Flare army, and an old friend of Daisuke and mine." Taiki explained, surprising the four Chosen Children. "Woah, really?" Hikari asked.

"Yes." Kiriha replied while getting off from Taiki. "I've heard that DarkKnightmon is back and he's plotting something." He added.

"Does that mean that you'll help us?" Daisuke asked. "Of course. I never leave friends in trouble." Kiriha replied with a smirk. "Says the one who tried to kill me because tricked by Gravimon." Taiki had to say his opinion. "HEY!" The other boy shouted.

"What!? You really consider yourself their friend!?" Yamato said, still angry, but then Taichi remembered him something. "Well, Yamato…you basichally did the same when you got tricked by Jureimon…" He said. "HEY!" The other Chosen Child yelled.

"It seems that there is a lot of work to do…" Daisuke commented with a sceptic face. "Yeah…I hope they will get along…especially now that they will work together…" Hikari added.

An embarrassing silence followed…even the wind could be heard.

Both Yamato and Kiriha turned on the couple with silly faces. "Eh?" They both asked. "You don't know, Kiriha? Yamato and the other two belong to those Chosen Children I talked you about. We're a much larger group now!" Taiki explained.

…Another silence followed…

"…Three…two…one…" Daisuke predicted what was coming…and he was right.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?" Since he knew that Yamato and Kiriha would have shouted, Daisuke already covered Hikari's ears while having some paper on his ones.

"ME!? WITH THAT PRICK!? NEVER! FORGET IT!" Kiriha shouted. "WE CAN DO IT EVEN WITHOUT THIS DANDY HELPING US!" Yamato answered.

"Too bad, you work as a team now, let's go." Daisuke, Taichi and Taiki all said together while dragging them to school. "DAMMIT!" Both Yamato and Kiriha shouted.

Sora and Hikari both followed. "Man…this could be a problem…I never saw Yamato so angry since the last time he argued with Taichi…" Sora commented. "Me neither…we were lucky to stop them." Hikari added.

"Yeah, thanks for that. I was starting to worry that Yamato could have been severely injured…" Sora concluded before moving faster. "Oooooh!" By hearing that…Hikari may have understood something.

After that, all the Chosen Children started their daily school routine, with nothing new in particular. Ever since this new adventure started, it was strange for them to start the day in a normal way and then dive to the Digital World to free their areas from the forces of the Black Rose. It was like a superhero comic, where the main character did his usual job and then an instant later, he ended up fighting crime. Both for the Chosen Children and for the former members of the Xros Heart, this was a rather complicated experience. In the past, there were conditions that made them focus on their mission better. (Summer vacation in the case of the Chosen Children and the fact that they were all the time inside the Digital World for the Xros Heart). But now, the situation was different. Surely, they felt pleased to continue their normal life even in a situation like this, but at the same time…they thought if they would have been able to do so. But overall, they stayed positive. Maybe there was a way to keep balance between normal life and the battle for the two Digital Worlds.

Daisuke, Hikari and Takeru were having their science lesson. While the teacher was writing what she was explaining on the blackboard, Daisuke and her girlfriend were taking notes with a pensive expression on their faces. Takeru couldn't help but notice those faces and wanted to know the reason for that. "Is there something wrong?" He asked in a low voice.

"Uh? Oh, well…it's just that…something happened before we arrived at school." Hikari replied. "What?" Takeru asked. "You see…today an old friend of ours arrived but…Yamato argued with him and they fought against each other…" Daisuke replied. Takeru got alarmed for a while after hearing that his brother harmed someone. "What!? Why!?" He exclaimed. But before the discussion could continue, the teacher quickly turned her head on the three Chosen Children, who made a large smile to convince her. "...I'm watching you, remember it." She simply said before coming back to her lesson.

"Perhaps we should talk it later…" Daisuke fairly suggested. "Yeah, you're right, my bad…sorry…" Takeru replied.

Once the lessons were over, the trio started to move towards the informatic room, where the rest of the group was probably waiting for them. Takeru wanted to see his brother after hearing the news. It was true that it wasn't the first time that he ever punched someone, but he usually had a reason to do so.

When they entered, they could see Taichi and the others turn to them. "Oh, hey! Welcome!" Taiki said. "It seems that this time we're the last ones." Daisuke commented. When Takeru turned around, he could see his brother Yamato leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Near him there was Kiriha in the same position. Both of them were looking elsewhere.

"Yamato! Are you ok? I've heard that you've argued with someone." Takeru asked worried. "I'm fine. It's just this asshole's fault!" His older brother replied, pointing at Yamato. "Hey! Didn't they told you that it's rude to point at others!?" Kiriha replied.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Before another quarrel would have started, Nene stopped the two boys, by holding them by the hair. "OUCH OUCH OUCH!" They shouted.

"So…it was this guy that annoyed you?" Takeru asked. "Yeah…ever since then, they didn't stop arguing…" Gabumon said from his partner's Digivice Xros Loader, sounding embarrassed. "I'm sorry…" Patamon said.

Once everyone was there, the group started with a brief presentation for both Kiriha and the Chosen Children. "I see…so you guys are the ones that saved the other Digital World three years ago. It means that you are people that not mess around." The former leader of Blue Flare said to them.

"Eheh, thanks! Even if we lost most of our power, it's nice to see that someone praises us!" Jou said while scratching the back of his head. "And we want to help even this time." Sora added. "Yup Yup! That DarkKnightmon guy is trying to invade our home too!" Piyomon said.

"Awww, all these guys have done so much cool things…it makes me feel inferior!" Miyako commented. "Don't say such things, Miyako! You're doing much as well! I'm sure you'll have your chance as well!" Hawkmon tried to comfort her. "Yeah, Hawkmon is right! The important is that you are here!" Veemon added. "Awwwwww, thank you! I'm already feeling better!" Miyako said with a sudden mood swing.

"So…do we have some news, Koushiro?" Daisuke then asked. "Yes. And they are not good news at all…yesterday I've made some deeper research on the two Digital Worlds current situation…and I've discovered something about it." The red haired Chosen Child answered before showing his laptop to the others. There were the maps of the two Digital World with the zones occupied by the Black Rose and the free ones…but now, there was an adding detail. On the maps there were also five blue circles, two in the DigiXros Digital World, and three in the evolution Digital World.

"Five circles…what are they?" Hikari asked. "That's the disturbing part…" Koushiro replied. He then clicked on one of those circles, revealing their real form.

[Fate/Grand Order OST – Dark Clouds To Clear]

The group could see a gigantic mechanical tree that stood in a large area. It was as if that tree was ruling supreme on that zone of the Digital World.

"What the!? That tree is huge! Why is it there?" Mimi asked, surprised. "Hey, Koushiro…do you think…?" Taiki asked.

"Yes. These trees have been put there by the Black Rose. I think they are powerful devices of control." Koushiro replied. "Like the Dark Towers we've seen so far?" Veemon asked. "I'm afraid these are much worse than the Dark Towers. As far as I know, they hold an incredible amount of energy that makes them control large portions of the Digital World. That is why I named them 'Mind Trees'." The Chosen Child explained.

"Mind Trees…as if they have a will of their own that makes them control those zones…" Daisuke said. "Absurd…where did DarkKnightmon found that amount of energy to create these things…?" Taichi wondered. "I don't know…but with these, we now know that he is not joking. Whatever he's plotting to do…he's dead serious." Taiki answered.

"Yeah…I fear that this method, whatever it is, is much worse than those used by his brother Bagramon." Kiriha added. "Well…it's up to us destroy those things…right?" Iori asked. "I'm…afraid it won't be that easy, Iori…" Armadimon said.

"Yes. These trees hold a giant amount of power, which makes me think that these are the most powerful items the Black Rose has. They are probably guarded by DarkKnightmon's most powerful soldiers. The problem is that…we are too weak at the moment…if we tried to attack those trees…" Koushiro explained.

"…We would get killed…" Daisuke ended the line for him with a dead serious tone. With this, the group started to become more worried about the situation. The Knight had the situation in hand.

"So…what do we do? Is there a way we can…even act?" Sora asked. "Silly Sora! Of course there is! If there's something I've learnt from my journey with my cousin Taiki is that there is always something to do! We just need to be patient." Daisuke explained with his usual tone.

[Digimon Adventure 02 OST – Adventure Heart]

"Patient? You're saying that to an hyperactive girl! How can someone like me be patient!?" Miyako explained. "Er…let me explain…" Daisuke answered with a sceptic face. "What I meant is that for now, we have to focus on doing what we can do to make the Digital World more free. It's natural that we are too weak to take down those Mind Trees, since our battle had only started. Before doing that, we need to become stronger. For now, let's just focus on taking down the Dark Towers on the other zones of the Digital World. Then, once everyone had got their Special Evolution and we'll have enough Digimon on our side, we can start taking those trees down!" He then explained.

"I think that's a great idea, Daisuke! It's happy to see that you're still optimistic!" Takeru said. "I agree. We were scared for a second, but then you fairly remembered us that not everything is black. I don't know you, but I'll stick with his plan. Any objections?" Taichi added. The others didn't object and smiled. "Well, I think that it's settled then!" Tailmon said.

"Nice to see that you didn't change, Daisuke. The only downfall is that I'll have to work with that disrespectful guy over there." Kiriha said, referring to Yamato. "I've heard you!" The Chosen Child shouted. "Come on, we get it! You don't' like each other! We can't lose time like this!" Jou told them. "Strange reaction, coming from you…" Gomamon observed.

"So, Koushiro, do you know where to go today?" Daisuke then asked to the older Chosen Child. "Actually yes. Last night, I've received an e-mail directly from the Digital World. It was an help request from a Digimon." Koushiro replied, surprising the others.

"Really? Digimon can do so?" Taiki asked surprise. "It's true that Digimon ask humans for help every time they are in danger, but this is the first time I hear of a direct request of help!" Shoutmon added. "And what does it say?" Agumon asked.

In that moment, Tentomon looked at Koushiro's computer and searched for the mail. Once he did so, he read it out loud. "To all Chosen Children, our beloved city Mechatropolis is In terrible danger. Last night, the forces of the Black Rose took over the entire zone and enslaved most of the Digimon. We beg for your help. We're willing to support you in every way possible if necessary. This is the mail."

"Mechatropolis? Judging by the description, there must be many robotic Digimon out there…" Nene fairly observed, making Daisuke think about something. "Hmm…robotic Digimon that ask for help…oh well, I'll see it with my eyes. Ok, guys! I think there's nothing more to add! Let's dive into today's mission!" He then said to others. "This Mechatropolis is situated in the Evolution Digital World." Koushiro then informed. "Got it. Let's do our best even today!" Taiki answered.

"Got it! Let me start!" Miyako said, going towards the screen and pointing her Digivice at the screen. "Digital Gate…Open!" She then exclaimed. In that moment, the laptop's screen started to shine and sucked everyone inside. It was time for another mission, another battle.

A portal in the sky of the Digital World appeared out of nowhere, showing the Chosen Children who landed on the ground without problems. Well…most of them. Kiriha landed normally, but Yamato ended up falling on him. "OUCH!"

"Ngh, sorry." Yamato said, standing up. "You never learn, uh!? It's already the first time you crash against me!" Kiriha shouted at him annoyed. "It's not my fault, you idiot!" Yamato answered back, but before another quarrel was going to start, their respective partners came out of their Digivice Xros Loaders to stop them. "Yamato, enough! You can't act like this forever!" Gabumon complained. "You too, Kiriha, you can do better than this!" Kiriha's partner added.

By looking at him, the original group of Chosen Children gasped, since it was a Digimon they actually knew well. "I-Is that…" Mimi said. "Yes…there's no doubt…" Koushiro added.

"That's a Greymon!" Agumon exclaimed. Kiriha's Digimon partner, was indeed, a Greymon, even if slightly different. "Hm? Yes, he's a Greymon, why you look so surprised?" Kiriha asked. "Oh well, the reason is actually simple." Taichi said, before taking his Digivice and made Agumon evolve.

"AGUMON EVOLUTION! GREYMON!" In a matter of seconds, both Greymon were there, looking at each other. "Woah! Now I see! His evolution is also a Greymon!" The former leader of Blue Flame said surprised. "It feels strange to see another one of my kind...even though you're quite…blue…" Taichi's Greymon observed.

"And you're quite…orange…even our head is different…" Kiriha's Greymon replied. "To think that there can actually be more types of the same Digimon…this is starting to get interesting…" Koushiro commented, showing some curiosity. "That means that there can even be a variant of mine!" Tentomon added.

"Well, at least this stopped the two fighters…" Daisuke noticed. Both Kiriha and Yamato looked at each other…and then looked away with a snort. But then…

"Uhm, guys…I don't want to alarm you, BUT THE ENEMY IS ALREADY APPROACHING!" Mimi advised, pointing at the sky. "WHAT!?" Everyone shouted.

[Metroid Prime 3: Corruption OST – Space Pirates Main Theme]

A flock of Pteranomon belonging to the Black Rose was already flying towards the group, ready to attack it with their missiles. "Side Winder!"

"EVERYONE! RUN!" Daisuke advised the others, who started to run in panic. To help them escape, The two Greymon both grabbed the group and ran as fast as they could. "Dammit! The've already detected us!?" Nene exclaimed. "They probably predicted our arrival! There's no choice, we must answer!" Taichi answered. "All the ones who have a flying Digimon, now it's time to use it!" Daisuke added.

"Got it!" Everyone shouted. With that, there were some sequences between evolutions and reloads.

"PIYOMON/TENTOMON/PATAMON EVOLUTION! BIRDRAMON/KABUTERIMON/ANGEMON!" Sora, Koushiro and Takeru's partners evolved in their Adult-Level forms.

"Time to go guys!" Miyako advised. "Your turn too, Armadimon!" Iori added, with both of them making Armor evolve their Digimon. "HAWKMON/ARMADIMON ARMOR EVOLUTION! Flapping Love, HOLSMON!/Steel Knowledge, DIGMON!"

"Reload! TigerVespamon!" "Reload, Sparrowmon!" "Reload, MailBirdramon!" Mimi, Nene and Kiriha released their flying Digimon, and with that, the group could counterattack. The flick of Pteranomon didn't stop and continued to attack.

"Meteor Wing!" Birdramon released some feathers of fire that destroyed three of them, making them become data. Then she had a direct confront with another one, starting a literal bird fight. "Beak Pierce" In order to take her out, the Pteranomon tried to attack her repeatedly with his beck. "Argh! Now you've done it! Fireball!" As an answer, Birdramon shot a ball of fire from her mouth that eliminated the enemy. But then, another Pteranomon attacked her from behind with the intent of crushing her to the ground. "ACK!" "Plasma Cannon!" Luckily for her, MailBirdramon shot an attack made of plasma that eliminated the enemy Digimon, making Birdramon free again. "Thank you!" She said. "No problem. Let's take them down!" MailBirdramon answered before aiming at more of them with his tail. "Trident Tail!"

"Kaikousen!" Four Pteranomon tried to take Kabuterimon down with beams from their mouths. But the insect Digimon knew how to answer and took them down easily with a blast of electric energy. "Mega Blaster!" After that, he turned around and he could see that another Pteranomon was already diving towards him. Kabuterimon accepted the challenge and flew over him. "Beet Horn!" In the end, he stabbed him with the horn, making him disappear in data. "I have to say it, I made a nice shot!" He commented.

"Mach Stinger V!" Meanwhile, TigerVespamon was stabbing repeatedly a group of Pteranomon with his Royal Meister, slicing them in pieces. He saw another group coming and was ready to answer, but in that moment… "MEGA FLAME!" Two giant balls of fire, one red and one blue, attacked that group, destroying it. When TigerVespamon looked down, he could see the two Greymon aiming at the enemy from the ground. "We'll give you a hand as well!" Taichi's Greymon said. TigerVespamon raised a thumb up in sign of appreciation and flew towards the enemies.

"Gold Rush!/Red Sun!" While Digmon threw some of his drills, Holsmon shot two laser beams from his eyes that eliminated some Pteranomon. But in that moment, more of them appeared. "Watch out!" Holsmon advised. Luckily for them, Angemon was already there, shooting a beam of energy from his fist. "Heaven's Knuckle!" Those Pteranomon ended up getting defeated. "Need some help?" Angemon asked. "I appreciate it!" Digmon answered.

The struggle continued for some minutes, but despite everyone's efforts, it seemed that the flock of Pteranomon was infinite. "They never end!" Sora commented. "Dammit! At this point we'll get overtaken!" Gomamon added. "If only I could use my Special Evolution, I could help too!" Veemon complained. The group started to get worried…but then another unexpected assistant appeared.

"Terror's Cluster!" Suddenly, a giantic plasma cannon attacked the flock of Pteranomon, taking down every single one of them.

"Uh?" Everyone asked. "What happened?" Gabumon wondered. "Something took out the enemy…" Yamato added. "But…who?" Koushiro asked.

"Over here!" A voice called out, making ring something in Daisuke's head. "Hey! This voice! Did you hear it, Veemon?" He asked to his partner. "Yes! There's no doubt! It's him!" The blue dragon Digimon answered, happy to hear it.

When everyone turned back and went towards the voice, they could see the gigantic mechanic Digimon known as Rust Tyranomon. "Daisuke, Veemon! Long time no see!" He said.

[Digimon Adventure OST – Teki o Yatssukero!]

"Rust Tyranomon!" Both Daisuke and his partner went to hug their old friend. "Oh, it's so nice to see you again! We didn't see each other since Quartzmon's defeat!" The red-haired boy said. "Yeah! I've missed you, buddies!" Rust Tyranomon replied.

"Who's this, Daisuke?" Hikari asked. "A friend of yours?" Tailmon added. "Yup yup! This is Rust Tyranomon! He's a Digimon I've captured some time ago!" Daisuke replied. "Hey! I see some old faces here! Taiki, Nene, Kiriha! It's good to see you too! And you guys…must be the Chosen Children, the ones who saved this world three years ago! I'm happy to see that you've come to help us." Rust Tyranomon then looked at the others, happy to see them as well.

"Happy to see that you're doing well, RustTyranomon!" Shoutmon saluted him. "I see! So you're the one who sent us that e-mail." Koushiro added. "And what does you mean by 'capture'?" Mimi asked. "Oh well…it's a long story actually." Daisuke replied. "I hope you didn't do nothing bad on this Digimon!" Hikari exclaimed. "NO NO NO! I swear, it's nothing wrong, sweetheart!" The red haired boy answered alarmed.

"Let's just say that this guy showed me what he has in a nice battle!" The mechanic Digimon answered for him. "Oh well, at least it's nice to see that we have another ally!" Jou said in relief. "Yeah! Although he kinda reminds me of Mugendramon…" Taichi observed.

"Hm? Did you say Mugendramon? What a coincidence! He's right behind me!" Rust Tyranomon said, shocking the original Chosen Children. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?"

The giant Digimon moved on the left, revealing the other gigantic mechanical Digimon…a sight that wasn't that pleasant for those boys and girls. "Uhm…hello…you must be the Chosen Children, right? It's nice to meet you!" Mugendramon said.

"M-M-M-Mugendramon…" The Chosen Children said, still astonished for what they saw. "Uhm…yes, I am Mugendramon…what seems to be the matter?" The machine Digimon asked, not knowing what is going on.

"Uhm…guys? Are you sure you're fine?" Daisuke asked. "NO, IT'S NOT OK! DAISUKE, TAIKI, KIRIHA, NENE, MIYAKO, IORI! STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Taichi shouted at them.

"HEY HEY HEY HEY! W-What's going on exactly!?" Miyako asked, confused. "THAT'S NOT A NICE DIGIMON! THAT MUGENDRAMON IS ONE OF THE FOUR DARK MASTERS THAT ONCE TOOK OVER THIS WORLD!" Sora shouted.

"O-Oh…that! Now I see why you got so panicked…well-"Mugendramon tried to explain, but the other Chosen Children didn't let him finish. "THERE'S NO WAY WE WOULD HEAR YOU! What, are you trying to trick us and then take us down!? ARE YOU WORKING FOR THE KNIGHT!?" Yamato shouted. "No no no no! Please! Let me explain! I'm not THAT Mugendramon!" The mechanic Digimon answered, and that sentence…confused the others.

"Eh?" They asked.

"I know it may look like that, but I swear! I'm not that guy!" Mugendramon continued. "I may be like him, but I'm a completely different Digimon! We just share the species that's all!"

"Species?" Mimi asked. "…Oooooh…right. I forgot. There can actually be more exemplars of the same Digimon…" Koushiro replied before turning on the other Chosen Children. "Guys…I think he's right. He's not the Mugendramon we know."

"You sure?" Taichi asked, making the red-haired boy nod. "Please…I swear. I'm a good Digimon! I've sent that help request along with RustTyrannomon here!" Mugendramon continued.

The Chosen Children stared at him for a few minutes in silence. A little bif of tension could be felt in the air, especially for the mechanic Digimon, who was afraid to hear their answer. Daisuke, Taiki, Nene and Kiriha were still confused, but they just waited for the answer.

And then…a deep sigh came out from the Chosen Children's mouth. "Fine…we believe you. But don't think you'll be safe if you do something tricky!" Taichi said.

"Fine by me!" Mugendramon exclaimed, feeling better. "Well, for now he doesn't seem to have evil intentions…" Takeru commented.

"It'd better be." Yamato answered. "Would you stop? You're scaring him to death! Did they ever told you to never judge someone by their appearances?" Kiriha complained.

"No one asked your opinion!" Yamato shouted back. In that moment, Sora and Nene grabbed the two boys and took them with them. "Ok, time to go." They spoke.

"Follow me, guys! I'll bring you to a safer place where the Black Rose's forces won't find us!" RustTyrannomon said before starting to move alongside Mugendramon and the group of humans. After a small assault, it was time to make things clear and think for a strategy.

[Metroid Prime OST – Chozo Ruins]

The two mechanics Digimon brought the Chosen Children to a tower that seemed tall than the others. While it didn't look like one, it was a safe place for them.

"Don't worry if it seems too evident. We've installed a barrier force around this tower that can block every attack from the outside. It's the only defense we have, but at least it's a good one!" Rust Tyrannomon said to the others.

"Wow! You really were able to create a barrier force all by yourselves?" Koushiro asked surprised. "Yeah! It took some weeks to create it, but it was worth it as you can see!" Mugendramon replied. "Rust Tyrannomon here knows a lot about technology and informatic, so for me it's natural that he was able to do such thing! Maybe we should get it memorized for the future!" Daisuke added.

In the meantime, Jou looked at the window and could see that many of the buildings of the city were destroyed and almost crumbled down. "Man…the Black Rose surely has gone violent on this one, don't you think, Jou?" Gomamon asked. "Yeah…I still wonder the reason of such violence…" Jou replied.

"Don't make me think of it…yesterday…it was such a disaster. It was…sad for me to see so many Digimon getting captured and killed by them." Rust Tyrannomon said.

"But…why?" Sora asked. "Probably because of the Digimon that live here. Mechatropolis is one of the most advanced cities in the Digital World when it comes to technology. My theory is that they've attacked us to take some of the most skilled Digimon when it comes to computers and communications." Mugendramon made a possible answer.

"Computers…and communications?" Patamon asked. "Maybe…they want their skills…to search something." Tailmon wondered. "But the problem is…what…?" Veemon added.

"Hmmm…it surely is a big dilemma. It's clear that DarkKnightmon is planning something different from his brother. He's conquering various zones of the two Digital Worlds not just for having power…but also for something else…" Daisuke said.

"Much like last time…that giant drill machine he used back at the jungle…his soldiers used it to dig underground…and find something. Man…I really wonder what it is…" Iori deduced. "If it's DarkKnightmon we're talking about, it's probably something dangerous…" Taiki answered.

"Oh right! Now that I think of it…hey guys! Who destroyed everything here? Was it a human with weird clothes that called himself the 'Digimon Kaiser'?" Miyako asked.

"We've heard of him…but the answer is no. it's actually a Digimon that is similar to Mugendramon here…but he was covered in a red armor and had a more threatening look." RustTyrannomon answered. "It's not like Mugendramon looks harmless…" Taichi commented with a sceptic face.

"A Digimon that looks like him? Hmmm…then it must be another Ultimate-Level Digimon…" Koushiro said his opinion. "Now that I think of it, we're seeing many Ultimate-Level Digimon in these days…not only some of us can't reach that level, but we can't even make our Digimon evolve further than the Adult-Level…will we be able to keep it up with them?" Jou then spoke.

"Naaah don't be so pessimistic, Jou! Remember what Palmon and Tailmon did yesterday to that gigantic dragon? We may not reach the Ultimate-Level, but we can still get the Special Evolution! So, we still have the necessary strength to kick their butts!" Mimi answered, making a fist with her hand.

"Oh…right! Thanks Mimi." Jou said with a smile. "She seems much more optimistic compared to three years ago, don't you think?" Takeru added.

"Eheh! Of course! People change in time! Our last trip to the Digital World had taught me a lot of things that I've decided to keep in mind for good. I couldn't remain the spoiled girl forever, so I've decided to take it easy and be a new me!" Mimi explained. "And I'm happy to see the change!" Palmon added.

"Woaaaaaaah! Talking like that is so cooool! I'll do it as well one day!" Miyako said.

"That's the spirit, Mimi! If that's the case, it's time we start to study a strategy. How's the situation in the city, Rust Tyrannomon?" Daisuke then asked.

"Not the best. As you could see for yourselves, every inch of what's left of the city it's guarded by the forces of the Black Rose. It's hard even to go out in a situation like this. And the worst part is that they are always up to date on every movement that happens inside the city." Rust Tyrannomon explained.

"So, it's like some sort of…Big Brother show?" Nene asked. "Yeah. Much like that. Luckily, this tower is the only spot they can't see, thanks to the barrier. But if we ever set foot outside the tower, it's highly probable that they're going to attack us." The mechanic Digimon continued.

"But how are they able to see everything?" Gabumon asked. "It's because of the dark towers they have placed." Mugendramon replied, alarming the others. "Dark Towers!?" They exclaimed.

"It's not the type that they usually use. They sure put control over the area, but they don't steal energy from their Digimon. Instead, they give information to the big one we've received before." Rust Tyrannomon explained.

"So…the first thing we must do is to take them down…" Daisuke immediately told their primary objective.

"But Rust Tyrannomon said that if we come out of this tower, we could get ambushed again. How are we going to reach the towers?" Yamato fairly asked. In that moment, a Digimon came out of Daisuke's Digivice. It was Mistymon, who looked at everyone with a serious stare. "Leave them to us." He simply said.

"Mistymon! Are you sure? There will probably be many of them." Veemon asked, worried for his adoptive brother. "Me and my Knightmon squad have trained ourselves for situations like this. We'll ready to use our swords together if needed." The warrior Digimon said with conviction. The small blue dragon looked at him for a few seconds before making a smirk. "Got it! I count on you then, big bro!"

"It seems that there's a good connection between them…" Tailmon noticed. In that moment, Even JetSilphymon came out of the Digivice. "They've been in good relationship ever since they were kids. Plus, Mistymon is always loyal towards his companions. He doesn't show it, but he has a good heart!" She said before putting an arm on her brother's shoulder. "Don't you think Misty- AGH!" She was going to ask for his opinion, but Mistymon punched her in the belly yet again. "How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want to get touched?" He spoke.

"You're too strict with her!" Hikari said her opinion. "Oh no. She's the one who's too invasive." The warrior Digimon countered. "D-Don't worry, Hikari…he's always like this…" Daisuke ended with a sceptic face.

"In that case, I'll assist him. The more there are to defend the others, the better the operation will be." Yamato then proposed himself to help Mistymon.

"You know…it's not actually a bad idea, Yamato! Garurumon is pretty quick, so it can move from one enemy to another easily. But maybe going alone with them wouldn't be so much…Hey, Kiriha! I know it may ask too much for you, but could you go with him? I think your Greymon would be a good tank as well!" Taichi then proposed. Of course, the tough boy wasn't happy to hear that.

"ME!? WITH HIM!? AGAIN!?" Both Yamato and Kiriha shouted. "GUYS!" In that moment, Daisuke yelled at both of them. "We're dealing with something that would cost the freedom of these Digimon! So quit acting like two kids for once! You can argue later!" He said sounding quite annoyed.

"…Fine…" Yamato and Kiriha concluded. "Man…it's the first time I see Daisuke that annoyed…" Taichi commented. "Yeah…it's rare to see him that way." Hikari added.

"Anyways, now give us some minutes to find where these Dark Towers are placed. Then, we shall put this strategy in action!" RustTyrannomon said to everyone. "Oh, let me help you, please! I work pretty well with computers so I could give a hand!" Koushiro then proposed himself. "Why thank you, Chosen Child! Then follow us!" The mechanic Digimon replied before moving towards their main computer alongside Mugendramon and the red-haired child.

It was just a matter of minutes, then the operation to take back Mechatropolis would have started. The enemies were many, but this didn't scare the group at all, especially since they were used to this kind of situation.

While they were waiting for the locations of the Dark Towers, Yamato and Kiriha were looking at the city. There was enough destruction to make it look like a sci-fi movie. Both of them had serious expressions on their faces while the wind moved their blonde hair. "Hey…we're about to descend into battle. Don't make any stupid move or consideration that could compromise everything." Yamato told the other boy. "Don't worry. I'm sure we both know the importance of this mission. I'll call you only if you make stupid moves or considerations!" Kiriha answered back.

"How can you say things like that!?" Yamato exclaimed. "Please, Yamato, try to calm down…" Gabumon advised him.

"Don't think that I don't care about you guys or that I'm better. It's just that…I don't want that anything goes wrong like last time." The other blonde boy answered. After hearing that sentence, Yamato made a more concerned face. "Last time? What do you mean?" He asked.

"Back when we were facing Bagramon, I've used to stand alone and think that I was indeed the strongest and the best. At first…I was an enemy with Taiki, Daisuke and all the others as the leader of the Blue Flare and I've fought against them many times. Even when we've started to work together, my pride took the best on me, and I didn't notice that I was getting manipulated by Bagramon and his generals." Kiriha then explained his past in order to give a better answer.

Yamato was genuinely surprised by this. This boy that was so picky with him…shared something with him. "…It may be weird…but I understand how you can feel." He spoke.

[Digimon Adventure OST – Yuugure]

"What?" Kiriha asked. "During our first journey in the Digital World, I've argued with Taichi and the others many times because of our different behaviors. Many times…I've feared that Taichi would have taken my place as Takeru's older brother, as he started to see him with respect and admiration. I couldn't handle it, and the Dark Masters took advantage of that and used me to attack them. I've ended up fighting against Taichi and even used my partner Gabumon for this. Then…the Homeostasis stopped us…and I decided to temporarily separate myself from the group. I thought that by being alone, maybe things would have been better…but they only got worse. I got…almost consumed by the growing darkness in my heart. It was in that moment that I've realized that…I just wanted to be considered a leader-like person…someone who wanted to be better than Taichi. Then...Gabumon helped me realize that I didn't need it…because I was fine just the way I am." Yamato explained as well.

Even Kiriha was genuinely surprised by this confession. He couldn't say that he was starting to like him, but at least…he could respect him just a little bit more. "It must have been…terrible for you." He spoke. "I know…my life hasn't always been that easy since…my parents divorced when I was little." Yamato replied.

"Yeah, I can understand that…my parents died back when I was a kid…and I was raised by my brothers…" The other boy told him before making a sigh. "Fine. Perhaps…you're not that bad as I think. Still, I think you should look where you're going." He added.

"Ok, ok, I'll be more careful. But yes…Daisuke's right. We should focus on our mission for now. How about we make a temporary truce?" Yamato then asked. "Sounds fine for me." Kiriha simply replied.

Meanwhile, Koushiro was helping the two mechanic Digimon to find the dark towers hidden in the rests of the city. "There! We found a second one! Koushiro, you're really great! Where did you get this level of skills in informatic?" Mugendramon asked.

The red-haired guy raised his head up and gave his answer. "Oh, it's not that big of a deal, actually. I've only been interested in informatic ever since I was a kid. I thought of it as a distraction for the stresses of my daily life."

"Stresses? Like what?" Mugendramon asked. This made Koushiro turn around, since it was an issue that touched him particularly. "I…don't know if you want to hear it…" He spoke.

"I won't judge, promise! Cross to heart!" Mugendramon proclaimed as he raised his arm. "Well…the truth is that…ever since I was a kid, I've discovered that my parents…weren't my real ones." The Chosen Child then confessed.

"Oh, dear…so you've been adopted." The Digimon spoke. "Yes. My real parents died when I was just a baby, and a distant parent of my father and his wife decided to take care of me. They treated me well but…hearing it when I was just a kid just hit me…so…I've started to search something that could distract me from this, and I've started to practice with the computer." Koushiro continued. "Koushiro seemed pretty close to himself due to that, but with time, he started to change for the best! He knew that his parents loved him, despite not being his real ones, and he started to open himself to more people! Even though I think he was already a great person!" Tentomon added.

"Eheh, thanks, Tentomon! I think it was also thanks to you if this happened." His partner told him. "I can understand the problems you've had. Even I have some of them as well. Since I share my species with one of the Dark Masters that you defeated, not many Digimon wanted to talk to me. Some of them were even scared of me! Rust Tyrannomon here is one of the only few friends I have. But for the rest…I've not been that lucky, unfortunately…and the arrival of this Knight surely didn't help." Since Koushiro was kind to tell him his past, Mugendramon explained his situation as well, sounding more grim than usual.

"Then…why don't you show that you're not like that Mugendramon?" The Chosen Child then proposed. This made the mechanic Digimon raise his head up. "I think you should be the one to make the first move when it comes to a relationship. If they fear you, then you should just show your true colors! Just like you did to us, thanks also to Taiki, Daisuke and Nene though…ahem, anyways…you told us that you weren't like the Mugendramon we know, and we now believe you. Much like my friend's crest, you should show more courage. It's important to have some when it comes to socialize. I know something about it." Koushiro continued.

"You think so? And…what can I do then…?" Mugendramon asked. This made Tentomon come closer and lend a paw. "Well, why don't we become friends in the first place?" He proposed. The mechanic Digimon was surprised by this, since it was the first time someone wanted to be friends with him. It was…a rather unique experience for him. He looked at his arm…and slowly lent it to Tentomon's one, shaking it. "There! If you need someone, you can ask us!" The bug Digimon then said with a smile (?).

"Yes! Thank you!" Mugendramon exclaimed, all happy. Daisuke and Taichi looked at the scene with a smile. "Well, look at that! It seems that Koushiro is already making new friends!" Daisuke commented all happy. "Maybe Mugendramon will become an ally of his? I wouldn't mind in that case!" Veemon added. "I'm sure he's more than curious to see how it feels to have more than one Digimon. I'm also glad to see that he seemed to have given some tips, considering how he used to act three years ago! Eheh, it seems that a lot of people have grown in all these years, uh?" Taichi commented.

Daisuke noticed something in him, as he turned around. "Hm? Is there something wrong?" He asked. "No, not at all." The former leader of the Chosen Child said.

In that moment, Koushiro and the two mechanic Digimon turned around to give an important announcement. "Ok, everyone! We've found them!" The Chosen Child said.

Soon, everyone gathered around to see the large computer of the room, which was now showing a map of the zone as a whole. Four big red points could be seen now. "Those four points…I suppose those are the positions of the Dark Towers, right?" Daisuke asked.

"Yes. Two of them are on the top of two different buildings, the third one is even inside a pile of debris while the fourth one is at the entrance of a destroyed building." Koushiro explained.

"So two of them are even in the streets of the city? This increases the risks of getting caught…" Taiki noticed. "Don't worry, me and Mistymon are here, and we'll make sure that the Black Rose's army won't touch you." Kiriha assured. "Hey, I'm also with you, dammit!" Yamato exclaimed.

"So…all we need to do is destroy those Dark Towers and then kick their butts?" Miyako then asked. "That's…pretty much the plan, yeah. I'm sure that once the towers will be destroyed, their forces will be much weaker. That will be the chance to push them back and free this zone!" Nene answered. "Then we know what to do then!" Sora added.

"That's right, Sora! All right, everyone, let's beat them all!" Daisuke exclaimed.

"YES!" Everyone exclaimed.

Soon, everyone was at the exit of the tower, ready to dive into action. "Once we'll pass through the barrier, they will instantly attack us, right?" Taichi asked.

"Don't worry about it…" A familiar voice with a Spanish accent said. When they turned around, they could see Mistymon coming, followed by his Knightmon comrades, who belonged to some of the Chosen Children. Even Yamato, Garurumon, Kiriha, Greymon and Mailbirdramon were among them. "We're already a shield for the group." Mistymon continued. "Let's make it quick!" Yamato added.

"Thanks guys…well, you've heard them! Let's go!" Daisuke then said to the group. With that, the large group passed through the barrier and started to run towards the roads of the devastated city.

The instant they were there…they appeared.

Tons and tons of mechanic Digimon started to approach the Chosen Children, ready to shoot at any moment. Lots of Sealsdramon and Gold Guardromon were there, with the former ones being at the service of the Black Rose and the latter ones being controlled by the Evil Rings.

"Those rings! This is not the first time we see them, right?" Taichi noticed. "Yeah! We've seen some of them in the past days…" Daisuke added. "Those rings get attached to the Digimon's bodies and take control of them. If we destroy them, we should be able to free them." Tailmon explained. "So, it's pretty much like Devimon's Black Gears, right?" Mimi asked.

"I think so, whatever you are talking about…So we need to take down the thin ones and free the golden ones, right?" Kiriha answered. "That's pretty much the plan. We're counting on you!" Shoutmon told him.

"Don't worry. We got this. Knightmon! Raise your swords!" Mistymon then exclaimed, with his subordinates doing so. In a few seconds, while the enemies started to charge against them, the swords of those knights started to shine, implying that they were ready to shoot. And so, they did, unleashing their attack 'Berserk Sword', which clashed against the Gold Guardromon making them fall to the ground. Some of the Sealsdramon took advantage of their fall and jumped on them to make a dive attack to the Knightmon, but Mistymon jumped as well and attacked them all. "Blast Fire!" He increased the flames in his sword and slashed five of them with a large amount of power, making them disappear in data. "Now, guys! Scatter and find out those Dark Towers!" He then advised the others.

"Right…let's do this!" Daisuke exclaimed. With that, most of the group made their Digimon evolve and start to go in the assigned directions to take down the Dark Towers that occupied the city, except two of them.

Yamato and Kiriha were standing in front of the army that was ready to attack, both of them holding their Digivice Xros Loader. "I think there's nothing much to add." Yamato commented. "Wait until you can say that. Let's go." Kiriha added. The two boys raised the Digivice, with the former making his Digimon evolve and the latter doing a DigiXros.

"GABUMON EVOLUTION! GARURUMON!"

"Greymon! MailBirdramon! Digixros!"

"DIGIXROS!"

Kiriha's Greymon and MailBirdramon fused up, with Greymon absorbing the mechanic bird's armor, which was assembled in his giant body and gave him even a jetpack which he could use to fly. In this form, Greymon also had an helmet that protected his head, a larger arm with three red claws on it, and a tail that worked as a machine gun (Which was actually MailBirdramon's head.)

"METALGREYMON!"

"He said MetalGreymon…though it's not the same one I know. So there can be more versions of one's Digimon?" Yamato wondered after seeing Kiriha's Digimon.

"Off we go! Giga Destroyer!" MetalGreymon launched the attack by shooting several missiles and bullets from all the canon of his armor, aiming at the Sealsdramon that got hit by that devastating technique and soon disappeared in data.

One of them made a high jump and tried to stab the Digimon from behind. "What!?" MetalGryemon exclaimed after turning around. But he didn't have to worry, as the enemy got eliminated by a yellow swipe. By looking down, the mechanic dinosaur could see that it was one of the Knightmon, who waved his hand. "Thank you!" MetalGreymon said before diving down to the battlefield with strength, generating a strong impact that made some Sealsdramon fly away. "Trident Arm!" After that, MetalGreymon used the claws on its arm to pierce through their bodies.

Meanwhile, Garurumon was running among the Gold Guardromon, who tried to attack him with their punches, but the wolf made good use of his speed and smoothly ran to dodge the attacks directed at him. He then jumped and started to attack them with his claws. "Garuru Thrust!" After a few swipes, some of the Gold Guardromon were already free, as the Evil Rings on their necks were shattered down. "Good…" Garurumon commented.

"Destruction Grenade!" One of the Guardromon Gold caught him by surprise and shot two missels that fully hit the wolf, making him fall. "AGH!" The manipulated Digimon then tried to finish Garurumon off, but he got stopped by the slash of a sword, who freed him from the Evil Ring.

"Are you ok, Garurumon?" Mistymon asked. "Yes. Thanks for the help…" Garurumon thanked him before they both noticed that they got surrounded. "Be careful!" Yamato advised.

"There are a lot of them…they really thought of everything…" Garurumon commented. "I know…but it's not the first time I got cornered like this. I may have an idea on what to do." Mistymon told him. "What is it? Hurry up!" The wolf Digimon exclaimed.

"I hope you don't mind if I ride you for this moment." The warrior Digimon answered. "Oh, I get what you're talking about. Don't worry, it doesn't bother me! Free to go, jump!" Garurumon accepted, and in a second, Mistymon was already on Garurumon's back, ready to attack like a knight with his steed. The duo started to run towards the enemy, sending a double red-blue flame against them. "Fox Fire! /Blast Fire!" Soon, all of the Gold Guardromon were knocked out and freed from the rings that were controlling them.

"Nice job! I think I understand why Daisuke trusts you!" Garurumon said. "And I acknowledge your power as well. No wonder you were able to defeat Apokarimon." Mistymon added.

"They're coming! Get ready!" MetalGreymon advised them after seeing that the remaining Sealsdramon were ready to attack them all together.

"How about a combined attack to finish them?" Yamato asked. "I don't mind. What about you guys?" Kiriha answered.

"We're ready!" The Digimon answered. And with that, they used their best attacks, which combined together and finished off the Sealsdramon, thus freeing the road. "YES!" Everyone shouted.

"We did it!" Yamato exclaimed. "At this rate, we should be able to take them all down!" Kiriha added. They could already feel victory coming closer.

But…it was too soon to celebrate…as a greater danger was already drawing near.

Suddenly…two large beams aimed at the group, astonished to see them. "WHAT!?" Kiriha exclaimed. The attack was so sudden that they couldn't have the time to defend themselves and got hit. "GUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

A giant explosion followed the attack, leading to a pile of smoke. When it came out…Yamato, Kiriha and the Digimon were all laying down, groaning for the pain they were feeling.

"Anf…anf…anf…" Yamato tried to stand up…and he could see that his arms were bleeding. "What…what was that attack…?" He wondered. "Ngh…it was incredibly powerful…it couldn't have been shot by a regular Digimon…" Kiriha added.

"That can mean one thing…" Garurumon spoke. And then…they could hear it.

Footsteps. Heavy…and metallic…footsteps…that were coming closer. The two humans and the Digimon turned around to see who it was, even though they already knew the answer. And in a matter of seconds…he arrived.

With his massive body clad in that metallic armor, Chaosdramon made his appearance. "A group of rebels decided to foolishly try to free the city, and yet you go down with just one hit? I would have expected more of a resistance, coming from guys like you." He spoke.

"That Digimon…he must be one of those Supreme Leader we've heard about…" Kiriha commented. "So, he's the same as Tactimon and Biomon?" Yamato added. "It must be…these Supreme Leaders sure know how to dive in action before situations get away from their grasp…" Mistymon added.

"Of course! It's so nice to hear your own qualities from someone else's mouth! Ahahah! But…let's get to the point. I am Chaosdramon, one of the Supreme Leader at the service of the Knight and the Black Rose and the responsible for the property of this city! And you…" Chaosdramon then said before pointing at his enemies. "You must be Kiriha Aonuma. You're well known from the Knight itself as someone who gave a lot of trouble…while you must be one of those Chosen Children, I've heard so much about. I must say that you put up a good show for those five minutes you've endured. But if there's one thing, I can't stand is PEOPLE WHO GETS IN THE WAY OF A PERFECTIONIST LIKE ME! I am one of the Knight's most loyal companions, and when I start a job, I always make sure to bring it to the end! We've conquered this city because its precious resources might help us with our project! Despite your clear weakness over me, the idea of you freeing the zone would make me terribly sick! Therefore…in other words, how about I destroy all of you in this instant while you do absolutely nothing to stop me? I'm sure this would make everyone happier, right? Great! We'll do it right now!" The Supreme Leader then made a long speech before pointing his two cannons at Yamato and the others.

"This one is completely out of his mind! Does everyone of the Black Rose act like this?" Garurumon commented. "I don't know, but what matters now is that we need to answer somehow. We cannot allow him to take down Daisuke and the others!" Mistymon exclaimed.

"Right…but what can we do?" Yamato asked. "He's stronger than the others, but luckily, me and MetalGreymon have the right thing that can put us to his level. Right?" Kiriha answered while turning on his partner. "Absolutely! I'm ready to do this!" MetalGreymon spoke.

"You may be weaker, but you can still help us to distract him and make him more open to our blows!" Kiriha then added, turning on the others. This made Yamato get bummed a little bit. Considering the situation, he never wanted to be put in second like and especially by him. But…his partner called him out. "Yamato! It's alright. This is the least we can do for now." Garurumon said.

Yamato looked at him at first surprised…but then he decided to trust him on this decision. After all the time he spent with him, he knew that he could always trust his partner even in situations like this. So, he nodded. "Fine…don't disappoint us then, Kiriha!" He exclaimed.

"Oh, how adorable! They're still trying to make some form of resistance! But I don't have time for this, the purpose of the Black Rose has absolute priority!" Chaosdramon exclaimed before shooting. But in that same moment, Kiriha and MetalGreymon decided to counterattack. "MetalGreymon! It's time to evolve!" The boy raised his Digivice, which emitted a light that surrounded MetalGreymon's body.

"METALGREYMON! EVOLUTION!" MetalGreymon changed color from a cobalt blue to a golden yellow, and his body got slightly bigger. His helmet became directly his face with his eyes being visible now. His jetpack became more similar to the wings of an airplane and one of his arms became a cannon. This was MetalGreymon's Special Evolution.

"ZEKEGREYMON!"

It took only a matter of seconds before Chaosdramon's blast attack was defected by Kiriha's evolved partner, who stood in his way. "Uh!? I see…you made your partner evolve to stand a chance. So you wish to free this already doomed city that much? Very well! Now you're making me curious! How long will you survive against perfection? Time to find out!" The Supreme Leader exclaimed with a smirk.

"I wouldn't lose time in blabbering if I were you!" ZekeGreymon answered while standing up. The two mechanic dragons then started to charge against each other and clash their iron claws, provoking a powerful shockwave. "Trident Fang! /Chaos Crusher!"

The impact resulted in the two Digimon struggling to prevail over the other, showing that their power seemed to be equal. "It's working! Keep it up!" Yamato exclaimed. "Hm! Not bad for a second-grade machine! But I'm sure you cannot handle this!" Chaosdramon then lowered his head to take aim with his two cannons and shot two giant beams. "Hyper Mugen Cannon!"

"Ah!" ZekeGreymon widened his eyes as he got hit and forced to recoil. Still…he was able to stand still and resist. Now it was his time to attack, as he started to rotate with all of his body and shoot with all of his ordinance. "Destroy Smasher!"

Bullets and blasts started to appear everywhere, attacking both Chaosdramon and his surrounding soldiers. "NGH!" The Supreme Leader was forced to defend himself with his arms.

"That's it! We may be able to overthrow him! Don't lose your hold, ZekeGreymon!" Kiriha encouraged his partner, who took the chance to charge against him by becoming an arrow of light. "Final Strikes!"

The red mechanical dragon got hit and got pushed back at high speed, but he knew exactly how to answer, as he stabbed the golden one with his claw and started to lift him up. "BLARGH!" ZekeGreymon spit blood from his mouth as his whole body got lifted.

"Ok, you're starting to give more trouble than the usual! Don't' make me start getting serious!" Chaosdramon answered. He was going to throw ZekeGreymon away, but in that moment, Garurumon jumped towards the enemy and shot at him with a breath of blue fire coming from his mouth. "Fox Fire!"

"Argh! What is this!?" The blue flame distracted Chaosdramon, giving ZekeGreymon the opportunity to get free and push him away with a high-power energy beam. "Hyper Launcher!"

Chaosdramon ended up crashing against a crumbled building, but it was too soon to declare victory. "Thanks, Garurumon!" ZekeGreymon thanked his ally. "Focus! He's still standing!" Garurumon answered, as he noticed the Supreme Leader of the Black Rose coming out from the debris. "Oh great, now even the small fishes are answering! I really can't stand guys like these! Hyper Mugen Cannon!" He immediately shot two more beams from his cannons, which were avoided by the two targets, who jumped up.

"Stand still, you're making this a lot-"Chaosdramon was about to complain until he heard several blastes attacking him. Despite the blows didn't lay enough damages, they still annoyed him, forcing him to turn around and see that even Mistymon and the group of Knightmon were starting to answer. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!?"

"Don't think we wouldn't have done anything! We are part of this mission as well!" Mistymon exclaimed. "Guys…" Kiriha commented. "We're keeping our word! We'll keep him distracted so that you and ZekeGreymon can finish him off!" Yamato told him.

"I never thought I would have said this, but thanks, Yamato Ishida! ZekeGreymon! You've heard him!" The former leader of the Blue Flare then said to ZekeGreymon.

"Ice Cannon! Garurumon then started to shot balls of ice to distract Chaosdramon even more and making him more vulnerable to his friend. "NGH! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU GUYS!" The Supreme Leader shouted before widening his eyes after seeing that ZekeGreymon was already in front of him, as he started to shoot with everything he got. "DESTROY SMASHER!"

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Chaosdramon didn't expect such move, and he got inevitably hit by everything and crashed to the ground.

"We did it?" Yamato wondered. Both Garurumon and ZekeGreymon were remaining cautious, as they couldn't expect what would have happened. Chaosdramon was still standing, but the group could see that he was starting to feel the damages. "Ngh…anf…anf…anf…I'll admit it…no wonder the Knight sees you as a potential threat…when it comes to become utterly annoying, you're the best at doing so!" The Supreme Leader commented.

"Then you must know that we're going to continue if you keep standing up!" Yamato countered. "Give up, Chaosdramon! By keeping you here there's nothing you can do from preventing Daisuke and the others destroy the Dark Towers and freeing this area!" Kiriha added.

…For some minutes…there was some silence…until…

"…Destroying the Dark Towers?" Chaosdramon asked. "…Eh…eheheh….eheheheheheheheh…ahahahahah! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAH!"

For some reason…Chaosdramon found the last thing they said funny, making both Kiriha and Yamato annoyed. "Hey!? What's so funny!? You're literally losing this fight!" Yamato exclaimed. "HAHAHAHAAH! LOSING? Oh God you're so naïve, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Aaaaah…dear lord…i admire your efforts to come up with a strategy to free this area…but it seems that you underestimate me!" Chaosdramon continued.

"What!? What are you talking about!?" ZekeGreymon asked. "Did you really thought that I would have left the Dark Towers so vulnerable? Perhaps you should think again!" The Supreme Leader answered.

That sole answer…was enough to bewilder both Yamato and Kiriha. What…did he meant by that? Chaosdramon knew that…and the thought of it would have filled him with a priceless joy.

Meanwhile, Daisuke and the others scattered in four different groups so that they could take down the four Dark Towers that enslaved Mechatropolis in an easier way. And soon…everyone started to communicate their arrival at the designated tower.

"Daisuke! We reached the tower!" Hikari said to his boyfriend through her digivice. "We reached it as well! Ready to take it down!" Takeru added. "Eheh! Nice job, everyone!" Daisuke answered while Fladramon was close to him.

The Dark Tower was just in front of Daisuke, Koushiro, Miyako and Iori, ready to be destroyed. Once the towers were down, the only thing left would have been pushing back Chaosdramon's forces and Mechatropolis would have been set free. "It won't take that much to destroy it, ready guys?" Daisuke asked to the others.

"You got it! Let's make it cru-" Miyako, with Holsmon near her, was ready to destroy the tower…but it was then…that the Black Rose played their trump card. Suddenly…in all of the four Dark Towers, started to shine a dark red light.

"Uh? What is that?" Jou asked. "Man, it's creepy! It reminds me of Hal 9000!" Mimi added. "I…I don't like it guys…keep your eyes open!" Taiki advised the others…and he was right to do so…that light…was nothing more than a signal…for those who dared to come closer to it.

The four Dark Towers suddenly released a powerful shockwave, strong enough to attack and paralyze all of the Chosen Children and their Digimon. Soon, all Mechatropolis was filled with the sound of yells of pain.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"These voices…!" Yamato exclaimed as he turned around. "Taiki! Daisuke!" Kiriha added before turning around to the Supreme Leader with a furious stare. Chaosdramon, on the other hand, had a grin of pleasure, since those yells gave him the confirm that his plan worked. "You bastard! What have you done!?" ZekeGreymon shouted.

"Oh, nothing that in particular! Just a little extra that could prevent you pests from taking down the Dark Towers! I've installed a security system that could block every type of movement to anyone who tries to break down the Dark Towers. At this point, they'll feel a high voltage electric discharge in their whole bodies!" Chaosdramon answered.

"Then…you predicted our plan…how…how did you do it?! The tower we were hiding in was protected by a barrier that made us invisible!" Yamato asked, wanting explanations for that apparently impossible coincidence.

"Once again, you underestimate me! Do you really think I wouldn't have considered the idea of someone trying to plot a counterattack against me? I know how clever a Digimon can be, especially a machine one! That is why I've sent a little help around the ruins of this city." The Supreme Leader continued while some small Digimon started to appear above him. They were tiny Digimon that had the look of eyeballs with black and large wings. "These guys are called Soundbirdmon. They are able to perlustrate even the smallest and most improbable zones inside the Digital World and through their speakers, they can even hear the lowest sounds. I had a feeling that someone of this area was still free, so I sent these guys to search for them and wait for the perfect chance to take them down! Thanks to them, I was able to know the location of that invisible building and I could prepare an alternative strategy of defense to put all of you in a critical condition! AHAHAHAHAH! See? Now you know that you cannot mess with the Black Rose and the Knight! You may try whenever you want, but we'll always show that we're one step ahead of you!" He continued.

"IT'S TOO SOON TO SAY THAT! FINAL-" Full of anger, ZekeGreymon was about to attack Chaosdramon again, but this time, the Supreme Leader moved faster to reach him and stab him with an organic missile of his right hand. "Destroyed Hook!"

"GAH!" Suddenly ZekeGreymon could feel all his forces starting to disappear, as he reverted back to Greymon and MailBirdramon. "Nghhh…m-my muscles…"

"No way! Greymon! MailBirdramon!" Kiriha exclaimed, worried for his partners. "That's absurd! He didn't have all that strength before! How did he take down ZekeGreymon with just one blow!?" Yamato added.

"Again, it's nothing that special! This technique of mine, the Destructive Hook, injects the enemy with a special virus that quickly drains down his forces, making them unable to continue the fight and a much easier prey for me! Now that your dragon in shining armor is gone, there's nothing that your happy gang can do to stop me! What did you just say to me? Oh right…it's better for you to give up and…let me kill you." Chaosdramon explained before he pointed his cannon towards them. "Don't worry! I'll make the death quick and painless as a reward for surviving this long! Seriously, you made me sweat for a moment!"

"Is…there really nothing we can do…? No…I refute to believe this…" Kiriha thought, as he saw the crimson dragon slowly charge his cannon. But then he widened his eyes…as he saw something he didn't expect.

Both Yamato and Garurumon were standing in front of the enemy, still willing to attack him. "Hey, lizard! Don't you think you've forgot someone?" The wolf asked, drawing the attention by destroying the SoundBirdmon with a flame from his mouth.

"What? The dog is trying to stand up? HA! Now that's something new for me! This will make your death much more pleasant for me!" Chaosdramon commented.

"Yamato!? What is he doing!?" Kiriha thought.

Meanwhile, the other Chosen Children were still suffering after the effect of the electric shockwave. "NGHHHHH! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD!" Daisuke commented. "Daisuke! We need to do something quick! We might end up getting killed!" Sora told him by communicating with her Digivice.

"Are you saying that you've had the same effect!?" Daisuke asked. "Somehow! I can't understand how this is happening!" Shoutmon answered from another part.

"T-The only way I can think is that the Black Rose thought of a defense system in case someone tried to destroy the Dark Towers!" Koushiro explained.

"S-Seriously!? Curses! These shockwaves are too strong! How in the world are we going to move now!?" Daisuke wondered while staring at his target, which seemed apparently impossible.

But then…Mugendramon, who was with them, started to slowly stand up. "HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM…" The mechanic Dragon took aim and pointed at the tower with his two cannons.

"Huh!? Mugendramon!? What are you doing!?" Fladramon asked. "Don't you see it? I'll open the road to you guys! All I need is just a blow from my cannons…and I should be able to damage enough the security system to free us all!" Mugendramon replied with a tone more serious than the usual.

"Pal, are you sure!? You could end up fried!" RustTyrannomon exclaimed. "Yeah! You should think about it before you do a terrible mistake!" Koushiro added.

"I'm not making a mistake!" Mugendramon countered, surprising everyone.

"I know that if anythings goes wrong, I could regret it! But that's fine by me! At least, if I have to lose my life it will be for something worth it! It may be a small thing…but I'm sure it will contribute for the salvation of both Digital Worlds!" Mugendramon explained.

Daisuke and the others were surprised by this determination of his, considering that he seemed to be shyer before. "Mugendramon…" Koushiro in particular didn't know what to say. He used to see that Digimon as something belonging to evil after the one he had to deal with. But…now he had the confirm. This Digimon could only work for the greater good. "I'm…I'm so happy! I couldn't be prouder of you!"

"I-It was you that gave me inspiration! Thanks to you, I've realized that I have to change myself if I want to know more people! And that's what I want to do, even if I won't have the chance!" Mugendramon answered.

"I-I see…you're right!" Fladramon suddenly exclaimed, as he aimed at the tower as well. "I almost forgot that I could still do something! Thanks, Mugendramon! After seeing such courage, I cannot abandon you!" The Armor-Level Digimon said. "There's nothing much to say but that I'm with you guys as well! I'll get my good dose of work!" Rust Tyrannomon added, aiming at the cannon as well.

"Koushiro!" Kabuterimon called out for his partner, who nodded. "We know what to do, right Kabuterimon?"

And just like the other times, the two boys' Digivice started to shine. "That light!" Iori exclaimed. "OH YEAH! TIME TO GO POW POW!" Miyako added.

[Digimon Xros Wars OST – We Are Xros Heart]

"Daisuke! We have our connection with Rust Tyrannomon again!" Fladramon said to his partner all happy. "This light…is just like what happened with Knightmon…" Koushiro noticed. "Does that mean…?"

"Absolutely! You and Kabuterimon formed a bond with Mugendramon! Thus, he became your partner as well!" Daisuke answered with a smile.

"Really? Absolutely amazing…" Koushiro said before looking up to Mugendramon and making a smile. "Well, Mugendramon, now we can say that we are officially friends! I hope to not disappoint you!" He added.

"I'm sure you won't! I hope to be of some help as well!" Mugendramon answered.

With that said, everything was ready. The light of the DigiXros shined once again to help the Chosen Children to win. "LET'S GO!" Daisuke shouted before raising his Digivice. "FLADRAMON! RUST TYRANNOMON! DIGIXROS!"

"DIGIXROS!"

Soon, both Fladramon and RustTyrannomon were fused, with the former absorbing some equipment from the latter. Daisuke's partner was now wearing two mechanical arm cover on his arms and one large cannon on his back, belonging to his friend.

"RUSTFLADRAMON!"

"Now it's my turn! KABUTERIMON! MUGENDRAMON! DIGIXROS!" Koushiro followed his friend and made his partner and his new friend fuse as well.

"DIGIXROS!"

Much like it happened with Fladramon, even Kabuterimon ended up having Mugendramon's two cannons. He even had an iron coating on his four arms and on his helmet.

"MUGENKABUTERIMON!"

Once the Digimon were fused, they could get free from the electric shockwave.

"Well, look at all those cannons! I guess we can start the fireworks, right?" Daisuke asked. "I couldn't have said it better! Ready?" RustFladramon asked to MugenKabuterimon.

"Absolutely! Let's do it!" The Insect Digimon said before aiming at the dark tower with his two cannons, which started to charge electric energy. Fladramon did the same, getting on all fours and starting to accumulate fire energy from the cannon.

"This almost brings back memories…" Koushiro thought, looking at the two Digimon. It made him remember when he first saw Digimon in his life back in 1995. And just like Taichi did back then, he, alongside Daisuke, gave a clear order to his Digimon.

"FIRE!"

"Rocket Cluster! /Mugen Blaster!" Both Digimon released beams of fire and electricity that immediately destroyed the Dark Tower, thus freeing the others. Funny enough, the explosion actually caused to make some fireworks appear.

"OH MY GOD! ACTUAL FIREWORKS!" Miyako shouted. "They did it! Now there's only three of them!" Holsmon added.

But they couldn't have time to celebrate that they could already see a fleet of Pteranomon coming towards them. "They're coming…" Koushiro noticed.

"Koushiro! I may have an idea! But I need that someone covers me up!" MugenKabuterimon suddenly spoke.

"You do?" Koushiro asked. "Oh, I'm a pro on making covers for others! Leave it to us!" Miyako answered with a smug smile. "I guess she talked for us! Don't worry, we got your back." Iori added.

"Roger that! Thanks guys!" MugenKabuterimon thanked his friends and started to fly up. As soon as he opened his wings, the enemy Pteranomon dived straight towards him.

"Hey! I think you should look at someone else, don't you think!?" RustFladramon said before making something new. He shot fire on the ground to make himself start to fly and reach the enemy. The iron coats that surrounded his arms started to release some electric shockwaves, as the Digimon headed towards his enemy with his fists surrounded in fire.

"Side Winder!" As soon as they saw him, they started to release a large ton of missiles at him, but now that he was united with another Digimon, RustFladramon could be faster and could easily dodge most of them. "Nitro Knuckle!" Then, he started to quickly attack one by one the enemies with his fists, making them disappear into data.

Other Pteranomon started to appear, but two shinign lights, one pink and one yellow, appeared as well.

"Tempest Wing! /Titan Drill!" Even Holsmon and Digmon launched themselves on the attack and started to clean the road from the Pteranomon. The former by spinning with his body and generating a tornado and the latter by piercing through their bodies with his drill nose. "Go, Kabuterimon!" Digmon exclaimed.

MugenKabuterimon took the chance to whizz up and accumulate energy from his horn. Once there was enough energy, he could release several beams that moved in different directions. "Cardinal Blaster!"

The beams were aimed at the other Dark Towers that were hurting the others of the group, who got free once the beams severely damaged the towers, thus nullifying the emergency system.

"H-Hey! I can breathe!" Jou exclaimed. "Sora! We're free!" Birdramon added. "Could it be that…" Hikari wondered before looking up, and she could see with pleasure four Digimon flying up in the sky, fighting against the forces of the Black Rose. "Hmhm! They did it!" She said.

"Perfect! Thanks to Daisuke and the others, we can finish the job!" Taichi exclaimed. "Ready everyone?" Taiki asked to the others, via his Digivice.

"READY!" Everyone answered in choir. "MEGA FLAME! / METEOR WING! / CHIKUCHIKU BANG BANG! / HARPOON VULCAN! / HEAVEN'S KNUCKLE! / NEKO PUNCH! / HARD ROCK DAMASHI! / FINAL STRIKE ROLL!"

All the Digimon released their best attacks, and in a few seconds, various explosion could be seen taking down the other towers.

"We did it, Taichi!" Greymon exclaimed. "That was close this time!" Omega Shoutmon added.

With a smile, Taiki took his Digivice and advised Daisuke. "Taiki here! All the Dark Towers have been successfully destroyed! Also, we should thank you guys! I don't know if we could have resisted for long!" He spoke.

"Glad to hear you, guys! But there's still some work to do." Daisuke answered. "Huh?" Sora asked before looking up and notice all the mechanical Digimon that were coming.

"I guess it's time for round two. Man, I just hope to have some energies left…" Togemon commented. "Oh, don't worry! If you survived to THAT electric shockwave you could survive to anything!" Mimi answered.

"Oh, I'm full of energies if you ask!" Tailmon added. "Then there's nothing else to say!" Hikari added, rolling her sleeves.

"I see you a lot more active recently Hikari! Man…I think she's following my footsteps…" Taichi commented before coming closer to Greymon. "Ok, boys! LET'S GO!" With that, even the other Chosen Children were ready to receive the enemies that were approaching them.

[Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance OST – Untamable]

"GAH!" Meanwhile, Garurumon fell down once again to the ground after trying to attack the Supreme Leader Chaosdramon. They were battling for a while by now, and the Wolf Digimon was starting to have several injuries all over his body.

"Gh…try to hold on, Garurumon…" Yamato said, worried for his partner. Listening to his partner's inciting, Garurumon stood up, even if he was starting to feel the effects of the damages.

Chaosdramon, on the other hand, didn't seem to be damaged enough. After ZekeGreymon was out of the game, he started to regain advantage over the battle, and he seemed pleased with what he was seeing. "So, for how long do you keep on playing this circus, wolf? All you've done now was just scratch my armor. I don't think you're feeling that well, you know? Maybe you should just lay down and take a deep breath!" He ironically said.

Garurumon found him only annoying, as he gritted his teeth. "Can you please SHUT UP!? TAI ATARI!" He tried to charge against him again, but all the mechanical dragon had to do was to get ready and answer with an immediate counterattack to push him back. "Chaos Crusher!"

"GAAAAH!" Garurumon fell against a rubble, and his body was starting to lose some blood. This made Yamato sweat. In that moment…he was starting to feel weak. "D-Dammit…" In that moment, he thought on back when Gabumon could reach the Ultimate-Level and turn into MetalGarurumon. "If only he could Warp-Evolve again…we might have some chance…"

"Yamato, there's no point on continuing! Make him retreat now!" Kiriha shouted at the other boy. "Are you suggesting that we should escape!? You're trying to get us all killed, do you understand that!?" Yamato retorted.

"So instead, you want to make your partner die in vain!? I'm trying to save us all!" Kiriha answered back. "We'll only be easy targets for him if we follow you!" Yamato countered.

In all of this, Chaosdramon widened his eyes at this scene, since this was something he clearly didn't expect. "Oh gosh! Are you…arguing?" He asked trying to not laugh.

"SHUT UP!" Both Yamato and Kiriha shouted.

"What I'm trying to say is that at this point there's nothing we can do against him! At least not until Greymon and MailBirdramon get their energies back! What's the point in continuing!?" Kiriha asked.

"Didn't you see all those weapons that Chaosdramon had?! He could disintegrate us in a few seconds, and we cannot allow that! Even if it's worthless we're trying to defend us all! If you really want to escape, then go! I'll just keep him here until the others arrive!" Yamato answered.

"Are you really willing to do so? What you're trying to do is literally a suicide!" The other boy countered.

"GUYS!" Suddenly a voice put a stop to their quarrel and made them turn around. It was Garurumon himself, who was struggling to stand up. "Yamato…I understand that he annoys you…BUT THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO ACT LIKE TWO CHILDREN!" He surprisingly scolded both of them, leaving them speechless. "Don't you see? You're making the same mistake you made with Taichi three years ago! And you remember well how it went! Didn't you make a truce before? I don't think you're respecting it! We're in a critical situation and we cannot afford to argue in a time like this! Get it!?"

"Garurumon…" Yamato simply didn't know what to say. He knew well what he was talking about. And…he was right. For a second, it almost seemed like he forgot everything he learned on his first journey on the Digital World. Even Kiriha understood that, since he had a similar situation on his own journey. A scolding from him wasn't different from what he would have probably heard from his friend Deckerdramon and ended up feeling immature for a moment. But unfortunately, someone called them back to reality.

"Boooring! Have you forgotten that I'm still here? If you want so badly to resolve the situation, here! Let me do it for both of you!" Chaosdramon said before shooting the Hyper Mugen Cannon.

Garurumon was ready to receive the attack, attempting to block it, but he was horrified to see that the attack…wasn't aiming at him, as it passed him by.

It was aiming at the two boys.

Garurumon, Mistymon and the Knightmon tried to run as fast as they could, but they were too distant. Both Yamato and Kiriha widened their eyes, as they didn't know what to do…until Yamato made something in the moment.

"KIRIHA!" He pushed the other boy away and got fully hit. Kiriha was horrified to see a comrade getting attacked so suddenly, as well as Garurumon.

"YAMATOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Once the smoke came disappeared…everyone could see the Chosen Child laying on the ground with his body full of burns, but somehow still alive.

"YAMATO!" Garurumon immediately ran towards his partner. "Please, answer me! Are you ok!?" He asked.

"G-Gh…s-sorta…I don't know how…but I'm…alive…" Yamato replied, breathing heavily. "You…saved me…" Kiriha spoke, still shaken for what just happened.

[Digimon Adventure OST – Tomodachi]

"Heh…I've just felt as my body moved on its own…or maybe not…anf…anf…" Yamato commented. "You…you could have been killed…" Kiriha told him.

"I know…but…It's just as Garurumon said, right? We…cannot argue in a time like this…now I know the meaning of that. Even if we disagree…like…a lot! We're still on the same group from today…and between comrades…we should watch on each other's backs. I've made this mistake once…I…I can't afford to repeat it." Yamato explained.

The other boy was almost moved by this. Even if he disliked him, Yamato still decided to save him from that attack. A simple gest of respect that…almost sounded like…

"…Friendship…you…were the bearer of the Crest of Friendship…right?" Kiriha asked before deciding to take Yamato's hand on his shoulder, so that he could help him stand up. "H-Huh?" Now it was Yamato's turn to be surprised by this sudden gest.

"I'll admit it…I've been an idiot, too. Much like Garurumon said. I can see now why you had that crest. Even if you hardly admit it…you do care a lot about your friends, right? I've been…familiar with that feeling." Kiriha spoke, remembering of all the time he could share a smile with Taiki, Daisuke and the others back when they were fighting the Bagra Empire. "The idea of putting your own pride aside to help someone you care deep in your heart. Eheh…I'm finding out that we are more similar than I thought…don't you think?"

"…You know…you may be right." Yamato simply answered before looking at his partner, who leaned his face on him. "I'm sorry, Garurumon. You were right."

"It's alright…even if you gave me a scare. Don't do it again, alright?" Garurumon answered.

Chaosdramon looked at the scene confused. "Maybe I've shot in a wrong way…but either way, no one tells me that I cannot try again, right?"

Everyone looked furiously at the Supreme Leader. "Oh please, now you want revenge? Didn't you tell it before? In the state you are right now you cannot defeat me!" Chaosdramon said before receiving a ball of fire right in the face. "Ngh! What!?" He quickly turned around to see Greymon and MailBirdramon glare at him.

"Did they ever tell you to SHUT UP!?" Greymon shouted.

"What!? How can you stand up!?" Chaosdramon exclaimed, bewildered. It was Mistymon who answered. "While you were busy fighting with Garurumon, I came closer and started to slowly heal him with a healing spell. It wasn't a troublesome virus as I thought."

"Greymon, MailBirdramon…" Kiriha spoke, happy to see that his partners were ok. "We were able to hear you, Kiriha, and It's always nice to hear you say good things sometimes." MailBirdramon commented, stunning his human partner for a moment. "So, how about we pay him back for all the mess he made us pass through?" Greymon added.

"I couldn't say it better…" Kiriha answered with a smirk. "Round two then? It won't matter anyways. Aren't you satisfied with the results of before?" Chaosdramon asked before…

Yamato's Digivice started to shine of a deep blue light. "Uh? My Digivice!"

"Yamato! That's the same light Hikari and Mimi had the other day!" Garurumon exclaimed, surprising both Yamato and Kiriha…and even Chaosdramon. "WAIT!? WAIT WAIT HOLD ON, TIME OUT-"

"Does…that mean?" Yamato asked looking at the other boy, who nodded. "Guess it's time for you to shine as well."

Yamato took it nicely and smirked as well before looking at his partner, who reverted to Gabumon. "Ready, my friend?" He asked.

"Ready! Let's do this Yamato!" Gabumon answered. And so…while Kiriha made his two Digimon turn back into ZekeGreymon, it was time for Yamato to unleash his partner's special evolution. "Very well, Gabumon! Time to evolve!" He exclaimed as he raised up his Digivice.

"GABUMON! EVOLUTION!" Gabumon started immediately to change form as he got surrounded by the light, and to Yamato's surprise, this time he seemed to assume a more human form. He seemed a man wearing a blue armor with red stripes with a mask that resembled that of a wolf, and he had two propellers on his back and two weapons on his arms.

"GABUMON: YUJO NO KIZUNA!"

[Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 OST – Menace (Gabumon: Yujo No Kizuna Theme)]

"Gabumon…Yujo No Kizuna?" Yamato was in awe as he saw his friend's new form. Gabumon also seemed to have a colder and more serious stare as he glanced at the enemy. "Hmmm…looking, good Gabumon! I hope you've took enough weapons." ZekeGreymon commented.

"Absolutely. Ready?" Gabumon: Yujo No Kizuna asked. "No need to say it twice…" The other Digimon answered as they both dashed towards Chaosdramon.

"…Eheh…I'm in danger" Chaosdramon commented before trying to block both of them with the blades on his hands. "Chaos Crusher!"

"Trident Fang!" ZekeGreymon promptly approached him, making his claw clash with the opponent's blade, making him still and thus, more vulnerable for his friend, who flew above Chaosdramon and started to shoot with his weapons, the Cool Parts. "Full Metal Machine Gun!"

"GAAAAAAAH!" A rain of iron fell down on the Supreme Leader, who started to get slowly annoyed by how things were doing, and he pushed the two Digimon away with a blast wave. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH! HYPER MUGEN CANNON!" He immediately started to release several beams from his two cannons just for the pleasure of disintegrating the two Digimon, who started to fly far from him before diving.

"Cool Edge! / Final Strikes!" Their combined strength was enough to force Chaosdramon to recoil, but once he was close to them, he started to attack both of them repeatedly with the blades on his arms. Both Gabumon: Yujo No Kizuna and ZekeGreymon were no less and used a barrage of attacks as well.

"It seems that they're having fun." Mistymon said before holding his sword.

"AHAHAHAHAH! You may have evolved, but it only means that you've reached my level! Therefore, I can still clearly win!" Chaosdramon exclaimed, but right in that moment, several swipes made of energy attacked him in the back. "Agh!" He immediately turned around and he could notice Mistymon and his fellow Knightmon attack him from behind. "WHAT!? NOW YOU TWO WANT TO PLAY-" Chaosdramon was about to complain again, but before he could finish his phrase, the two evolved Digimon decided to put their punches on his mouth, stunning him.

"How many times do we have to tell you? SHUT UUUUUUP!" Then, by making strength with their fists, they threw Chaosdramon away, sending him to the sky. But they weren't done there, as they decided to continue with everything they've got.

"Full Metal Machine Gun! / Destroy Smasher!" They immediately shoot with every weapon they've had in their body, and Chaosdramon could only witness all those bullets coming to him.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Chaosdramon was only pushed forward in the sky, and now it was his turn to start to sweat. From that height, he could see several smokes from the city, and he soon understood that the Dark Towers were all destroyed. "EEEEK! T-Those brats have freed the city!? How could this be!? I even prepared a plan of emergency!"

"Is he coming down?" Yamato asked before noticing that even the others were coming back. "Yamato! Kiriha! Are you ok?" Taiki asked. The group could then notice Gabumon's new evolution and be amazed as well. "My God! Is that Gabumon I'm seeing?" Taichi asked surprised.

"So we have another one then!" Veemon added all happy. "And…you seem messed up…Yamato…" Daisuke could notice. "Are…you sure you're ok?"

"Not really…but I can still live…" Yamato answered, trying to keep it cool and not faint from one moment to another.

"Ngh…" Chaosdramon was sweating even more after seeing that everything he did only last night already disappeared.

"You don't talk anymore, huh? So you're all smoke and no roast?" Kiriha asked. "We're still waiting for your brilliant solution!" Yamato added, mocking him.

Chaosdramon gritted his teeth. There was nothing he could do for now, or he would have been defeated. Though…despite this…he smriked. "Well…congratulations! You've surpassed me! But…I think you've missed something!" He proclaimed as he raised his arm.

"Huh? What is he talking about?" Nene asked. In that moment, everyone could see a small floating cage with someone inside. It was a group of Digimon known as Hagurumon and Solarmon, who were terrified.

"Huh!?" Daisuke exclaimed. "Those Digimon!?" Hikari added.

The cage ended up in Chaosdramon's hand. "You may have freed this city, but I've still managed to capture these little ones who seem to know quite a lot about the two Digital Worlds! So, in the end, I've got what I wanted!" The Supreme Leader exclaimed with a victorious tone.

"You scoundrel! You knew this would have happened, right!?" Yamato shouted. "Let's call it a draw for today. I'll deal with you pipsqueaks another time. Three cheers for the Knight!" And with those words, Chaosdramon flew away as fast as he could.

"COME BACK HERE, COWARD!" Palmon tried to call him back, but at this point it was pointless.

"He really was a pain in the ass! Next time I meet him I'll make sure that he won't say a word!" Kiriha exclaimed pretty annoyed. "I agree! I never thought I would have met someone even more annoying than Etemon…" Yamato added.

Taichi, on the other hand, sighed. "I can't believe it he got away with it…" He spoke. "Well…this battle surely isn't over. We'll meet him again one way or another." Taiki answered, trying to comfort him.

"Though I wonder what he meant with the last thing he said…" Hikari spoke before turning on Rust Tyranomon. "You said that they were searching for the most skilled Digimon with computers and communications right?" She then asked.

"Yes…and it seems that I was right…" Rust Tyranomon answered, feeling down.

[Digimon Adventure OST – Happy End]

Daisuke looked at everyone and tried to cheer them up. "I know that he ended up getting what he wanted…but I don't think that everything went wrong! I mean, we still managed to free Mechatropolis from the Black Rose! And that's something for me!" He spoke.

"Yeah! Victory is still ours after all!" Takeru answered. "It's been a while since you last talked…" Jou noticed. "Oh…I just…didn't have to say anything…I know, it's weird." The other Chosen Child answered.

"And now Mechatropolis can start to relax again!" Patamon said. "Yeah! Despite you didn't see anyone, there are actually some civilians that survived and hid themselves. I'm sure that once they'll notice that the Black Rose has left and that the Dark Towers are gone, they'll start to come out again. Though a lot of reconstruction will be done…" Mugendramon added, looking around.

"Oh, right! Now that you've formed a bond with me, this means that you'll be part of my team, right? Though…it will be hard to bring you in my house…" Koushiro noticed.

"Oh, don't worry! I'll be just fine inside your Xros Loader." Mugendramon answered. Or maybe I'll just head out here in the night, helping the other civilians rebuild the city while you sleep!"

"That's already something! This means that you have a third Digimon on your team! Aren't you happy, Koushiro?" Mimi asked, coming closer to his friend, making him blush. "O-Oh, right, I guess!" The red-haired guy answered.

Taichi looked at the two of them with a dazed stare, which was noticed by Sora. "Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Eh? What? No…no…" Taichi answered as if he was awakened by a sleep.

"Well, with this I think we've pretty much solved anything here! Shall we head back?" Daisuke asked to the others, who nodded.

And so, another long day had ended, and the Chosen Children could finally turn to the real world.

The sun was setting, and everyone came out from school. "Phew…another day is over…and this time I'm feeling pretty exhausted. I think the first thing I'll do after going home is to have a shower and lay down on the bed." Takeru commented. "Do you think there's space for me as well?" Patamon asked.

"Man, Gabumon! I can't believe you've unlocked your Special Evolution! This time you surpassed me!" Agumon said, complimenting with his friend. "Well, it was weird to be a humanoid for a moment, but I felt really strong. I can almost sense all the amazing things I can do! Plus, I've got my weapons even if I can't turn anymore into MetalGarurumon…" Gabumon replied.

"Speaking of which…what happened with your Digimon?" Daisuke asked to Taichi, curious. "Eeer…it's a long story. It would take a while to tell it." The former leader of the Chosen Children answered.

"Oh, I understand then." Daisuke concluded before turning on her girlfriend. "Hey Hikari! There's still some time before the sun goes down! How about-" Daisuke was about to propose Hikari to get an ice cream and go to the clock tower, but in that moment, he got stopped.

"Hold it!" Kiriha suddenly called him. "Uh? What?" Daisuke asked. "For this time, I'm afraid you'll have to skip. We need you for…something." Yamato added.

"Oh God…are you telling me that you are still arguing!?" Taiki exclaimed. "Didn't you make up!? I thought Yamato got almost killed for saving Kiriha!" Shoutmon added.

"Well, sorta! I mean…we don't hate each other like this morning, but we're still in conflict! Therefore, we think that we need to find a way to settle who's right once and for all!" Kiriha answered.

Of course, Daisuke was confused by all of this…and not only him. "Ok…? And what does this have to do with me?" The boy asked.

"We just need you to be our witness. That's all." Yamato replied.

…An embarrassing silence followed.

"Err…witness for what?" Hikari asked. "We decided to make a test of resistance. We'll go to the sauna tonight and see who's gonna resist the longest! You just need to be there and assist our scene. You're not forced to go inside with us." Kiriha explained.

"O-Oh…" Nene simply spoke, feeling embarrassed. "…What? What did you understand?" Yamato asked. "N-NOTHING!" The girl immediately answered. "And…are you sure you need Daisuke? Can't you just do It by yourselves? I would feel pretty embarrassed." Taichi asked.

"I would like to feel more complete if there's a witness with us. And since Daisuke was able to control us today, he's the fittest one." Kiriha replied. "You've got a point but…maybe it's not salutary for Yamato, especially after he got-" Jou was about to explain that was a bad idea but he got immediately silenced by Yamato. "WHO CARES?"

"I don't see anything wrong with that, but…just to be clear…I need to be at home before 10:00 P.M or my parents would get worried…" Daisuke answered, and in that moment, he got grabbed by both boys. "That's fine by us!" They both said before saying goodbye to the others and head to a public bath. Daisuke looked at the others and said 'help' to the others without using his voice.

"…Eeeer…you…think he's gonna be, ok?" Taiki asked. "…Honestly? I don't know." Taichi replied.

Meanwhile, in the lair of the Black Rose, Chaosdramon turned back safely and delivered to the Knight his loot. "I've lost our colony at Mechatropolis…but in return, I've got what we were looking for…" He said while showing the cage with the Hagurumon and the Solarmon, who looked terrified once they saw the leader of the organization.

"Ooooh! Well done, Chaosdramon. I knew I could count on you. While it is a shame that we lost what could have been a useful colony, these little ones will help us greatly for our purpose. I'm sure of it." DarkKnightmon said before taking the cage. "Is there anything else?" He then asked.

"Well, actually yes. It seems that Kiriha Aonuma as well joined back in Daisuke and Taiki's group. Not only that, but another of those Chosen Children also unlocked the Special Evolution. If they could get it all…it could be a trouble for us. Considering also that they already destroyed three of our bases, even if small ones." Chaosdramon replied.

"Kiriha…aaaah…hearing that name surely brings a lot of memories…especially since I've had the chance to work with him back when I was working for my older brother. And as for those kids, there's no need to worry. You and I both know how strong we are. We just need to be confident enough and I'm sure we will prevail. It's for the best of the whole world, after all…" DarkKnightmon commented with a grin. "Plus…we can also rely on a human. Have you forgotten?"

"Oh, right. The Digimon Kaiser. Though…I don't want to be pessimist, DarkKnightmon, but…I have this bad feeling about him, since…you know…his is more of a…inducted loyalty towards you. What if…?" Chaosdramon asked, not feeling so sure.

"My dear friend…you seem to think even too much. I like you better when you show your confident side. For now, the boy is under our command. Plus, as long as that seed remains inside of him, his heart should remain tied up to the power of darkness. It would take a miracle to make him turn back to the way he was. And we both know that miracles don't exist, right?" The Knight explained.

After hearing that, Chaosdramon made a small laugh. "Ah! You're right. I don't know why I got worried in the first place! I adore the fact that we both know our stuff and that we can win no matter what. Where did you find that same confidence I've had?" He then asked.

"Oh, it's simple. I've just learned from my mistakes, and I swore to do better, that's all." DarkKnightmon simply replied. "Now, if you excuse me…I'll put these little Digimon in their right place." He added before leaving.

Chaosdramon remained there for a few seconds, thinking. "Though…they did force me to retreat…maybe…naaaah! Who am I kidding? It's clearly impossible. Their victories are just temporary! I'll come up with something that will put an end to their interferences once and for all!" He said this while leaving, not knowing that Wormmon was listening to them, with his eyes wide open. "S-Seed? What seed?" He thought.

Back to the real world, Daisuke was ready to assist at the crazy idea his friends had.

The three boys were inside the sauna, with Yamato and Kiriha ready to settle their clash with a test of resistance. "So, ready for this?" Yamato asked. "You said it. I hope you won't shout again once I'll show you for how long I can resist!" Kiriha answered. "Why am I here…" Daisuke commented. He clearly lost all hopes with them.

"I see that we are confident! Then how about we raise up the bar? How about we go in there with our clothes on!?" In that moment, Yamato proposed something that terrified even Kiriha. "What!? That's crazy! Suicidal!" He exclaimed.

"Come on! We still need to see if you are a real man! Or are you telling me that you're scared!?" Yamato insisted. Kiriha took it personally as a challenge and replied. "Oh, of course not! Ready when you're ready, you wretch!"

"Then let's do it, punk!" Yamato said. Once it was all settled, the two of them entered inside the sauna, with Daisuke standing outside of it. Of course, he didn't want to take part in this, and he accepted with good heart to only be the witness. But he couldn't help himself to not facepalm.

"I thought they made up…" Veemon said with a sigh. "Me too…gosh…I fear that once this is over, things will only be worse…" Daisuke replied.

And so…the challenge started. While Kiriha took off his clothes in the end, Yamato did stick with his words and kept them on. Needless to say that the two of them were already suffocating from the heat, but they were too stubborn to admit it.

"H-Hey…you can take your clothes off…go ahead…I won't judge…" Kiriha said while breathing heavily. "A-And…you can just shut up…and…anf…mind your own business…look at you…" Even Yamato wasn't looking good. "Your face is already all red! I hope they don't mistreat you as a tomato." He added. "I-It's just natural…I always have this reaction when I'm in something hot…anf…" Kiriha justified himself.

"Oh please, don't start to act all big…anf…" Yamato insisted. "Oh…s-so you think this is all just an act!? Ah…ah ah! P-Please! I'm just getting started! I could…eat a full bowl of soup right now…" Kiriha exclaimed. He was clearly losing breath.

"Are…they…ok?" Daisuke wondered, while staying outside. Some time started to pass…until a whole hour passed.

"H-Hey…I think…It's better if you just give up…man…" Kirha told the other boy…who could…barely stand up at this point. "What about you? You can…barely talk…" Yamato replied.

"Keep on…blattering…I'm willing to continue…" Kiriha 'countered'. "In fact…I'm feeling…pretty cold!"

"That's…probably not good…" Yamato commented. Their bodies were all red at this point. A normal person would have already gotten out at this point, but not them. "Uhm…guys? I know you want to settle this but…it's been a while since you've been there..." Daisuke said at one point, but the answer he received…was this.

"S-SHUT UP!" They both had an exhausted voice.

The red-haired guy silenced with still a sceptic face. He then looked at the clock and could notice that it was almost 10.00 P.M "Hey, I should really go at this point…how about we call it a tie?" He asked.

"I-In true competition…there…there is no such thing…as a tie!" Kiriha insisted. "You win…or you lose…"

"Yeah…yeah…keep on talking big…" Yamato answered. At this point, the only thing Daisuke wanted was to go home. "…So can I just go?" He asked.

"Y-Yeah…thank you, Daisuke…I'll see you tomorrow…then you can say to the others how in the end…I was always right…" Yamato in the end, gave the permission. "Y-Yeah…see you tomorrow…I'll let you know when this knucklehead gave up in the end!" Kiriha added.

"Big talk from someone…whose face is about to explode!" The Chosen Child answered. "R-Right back at ya!" Kiriha retorted.

At this point, Daisuke wanted to thank the first person he met, and he left the sauna as soon as possible. He simply...saw too much for that day.

The next day…

Another day of school has ended, and Daisuke was ready to meet with the others and discuss about the next move to make against the Black Rose. Suddenly, he could hear some loud laughs from the computer room. And once he came in…he saw something…strange.

"AHAHAHAHAHAH" Yamato and Kiriha were joking and laughing together, the complete opposite of what they were doing the previous day. The rest of the group just looked at them with sceptic faces.

"Gosh I can't believe how funny you are, bro!" Kiriha said. "I could say the same of you, bro!" Yamato replied.

"B-Bro? What the…" Daisuke wondered, as he came closer. He could also notice that the two boys were completely burned. "Oh, hey Daisuke! Thank you for your work yesterday!" Kiriha told him once he noticed him.

"S-So…what happened in the end? Who won?" Daisuke asked. "Oh, there's no need to know that! It's already in the past!" Yamato answered. "That's right! We clearly understood the bond that could be formed from two real men! So, let's all do it together!" Kiriha added before making some weird moves with his hands "Kamehame-FORGET ABOUT IT!"

"YOU'RE OVER 9000!" Yamato jokingly shouted. And the two just started to laugh again. Even Gabumon and Greymon found them silly. It was just…strange to look at them act like archnemesis in one day and then act like best buddies in the next one.

"So…can…someone tell me what's going on exactly?" Daisuke asked to the others. "We…really don't know…" Takeru answered. "They just…started to laugh and joke together…like soul mates…" Taiki added.

"This is the first time I see Yamato do stuff like this…and he scares me like…a lot." Taichi commented. No one really knew what to say. They were just…speechless, as the laughter continued. One thing was sure: after this, Daisuke never wanted to know what happened inside that sauna.

"Well…at least they get along now…" Gabumon said with a sigh.

In that moment, Yakuza, the mysterious hunter, was leaning their back near the computer room and listened to what was happening inside. "…No…comment." They then left.
