Chapter 7: Sports Festival Training
All Might's Office
Toshinori Yagi had to sigh. Earlier he just had a talk with Midoriya about the upcoming sports festival and his own limitations. He knew of the boy's limitations but at the same time he still pushed him to win the whole thing. Partially due to the fact that he could only maintain his buff form for about 50 minutes. Suddenly he heard a knock on his door.
"Come in." he said, wondering who would be visiting him at this hour, only for it to be Perseus himself. He was still wearing the suit he used during his prank but was no longer using the wheelchair. "Ah Percy, how can I help you?" he asked the teen.
Percy took a deep breath as he walked into the office. He knew the hero was hiding something about him and his past but with all that he had experienced it was best not to tempt fate. But he did have another question that has been bugging him all day. "I wanted to know how the US was taking the whole thing with me time traveling. After all, considering the fact that I'm originally American, I assumed the government would be pissed about the whole thing" he asked.
Toshinori grimaced as he remembered hearing yelling from Nezu's office earlier regarding that specific topic. "It appears that Nezu was able to convince the American ambassador that you made the choice to stay whether they liked it or not. However he expects them to try again soon. Hopefully it will not come to violence if that's what you're wondering about''he explained to the troubled teen.
Percy sighed in relief, thanking the gods that his appearance didn't cause an international incident. "That's good to hear. Also can I talk to you in private? There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about for a while now" he stated causing the hero to blink.
Toshi motioned for the teen to sit down on the couch in front of him and offered him some tea. "What is on your mind young Jackson?" "Please call me Percy. It still feels weird to hear people using my surname and not be angry with me" the teen suggested prompting a smile from the deflated hero "Very well Percy what is it you wish to talk about?"
Percy recalled the dream he had as he took a sip of tea. "One thing all demigods have in common is that we all have some weird dreams every now and then. Those dreams tend to be either of the past or a present where we end up spying on the very people we're opposing. So when I was dozing in Recovery Girl's office, I had one of those dreams again, this time pertaining to the past where quirks had been rare" he explained.
Toshinori listened closely to Percy's explanation. Partly due to the shock that he somehow had a vision of the first generation users, and also partly to understand more about demigods. "You're talking about the era when quirks began to appear at random, correct? If so, you should know that it was regarded as the Dark Age of Quirks. Quirk users were treated as second class citizens by the Quirkless majority. Not everyone of course but a large percentage" Toshi explained, which he regretted as Percy was glaring at the statement.
Percy took deep breaths to calm himself to avoid causing a natural disaster, especially now with earth under his control. To think that discrimination was still active in the future under a different guise was infuriating. Once he was himself again he continued "Well that explains a lot. Anyways I found myself watching two brothers with white hair. One was wearing a business suit and was standing over the younger one. The younger man was skinny to the point you could see the bones. The man was gloating about the power he had which he demonstrated when he saw two people, one whose jaw was filled with sharp teeth and another who didn't have a quirk. He then placed his hands on both of them. The man with the horrific jaw all of a sudden looked normal while the quirkless man ended up with sharp bones coming out from his skin."
Toshinori shivered. He knew exactly what Percy was describing. All For One using his quirk to take and give quirks. After all, his mentor had told him the story of how One For All was manifested. But he never heard the story described in such detail. He stood up and locked the door before sitting back down, alerting the time traveler with his sudden behavior. "I fear that I know exactly what you saw in your vision Percy. What you saw was a man who goes by his quirk. All For One. He had the ability to take quirks from whoever and give them to whomever he chose. He used that to manipulate people into serving him, creating a criminal empire that spanned all over Japan. He had a younger brother who was quirkless. The younger brother was completely against his brother's actions but could do little to stop him" he explained, allowing Percy to take it in.
Percy closed his eyes as he sighed mentally. Where had he heard that before? He asked himself sarcastically while reminding himself of Kronos, the Titan who used Luke's hatred in order to manipulate him into betraying the gods. " Well that was ominous. But the weird thing is that he tried to do something to his brother. The younger brother was then given a quirk but then his hands started glowing, something All For One did not expect" he continued as he recalled the rest of the dream. His eyes then lit up "Wait what did he give his brother?"
Toshinori smiled "He gave him a quirk that allowed him to stockpile power, maybe a gift or a way to manipulate his younger brother. But in the aftermath, the brother actually had a quirk that he didn't even know he had, a quirk that allowed him to pass on quirks. So then the stockpiling quirk merged with the little brother's quirk to create a new one. One that would directly counter All For One. It was called One For All."
Percy was staring at the hero in front of him with a bored look on his face, "You realize that you ruined The Three Musketeers for me now. All For One and One For All?! Anywho, how do you know that story? If that happened ages ago, then either you're that old or'' he stopped as he figured it out "Your quirk. It's One For All isn't it? You ended up with this quirk" he exclaimed in disbelief.
Toshinori laughed at how Percy had gone from a rant to figuring out his quirk in mere moments. "Yes young Percy. I am the eighth wielder of One For All. My master passed the power to me and with the quirk growing more powerful with every user, I was able to defeat All For One, at the expense of my left side. I thought he was dead after all he lost a lot of blood" Toshinori replied to the young man's observation while grabbing his left hip.
Percy couldn't believe it. Earlier he joked with Hound Dog about All Might's appearance, comparing it to Jekyll and Hyde, to which Hound Dog looked more irritated than usual. But seeing the man now he couldn't help but be impressed. He was going through so much pain and had to change his regular diet but still tried to be a hero and teach young children to be heroes. "Does anyone else in this facility know about this? I can't believe this to be widespread knowledge?" he asked, a bit worried for the hero's reputation.
Toshinori sighed "Not many people know. Only Principal Nezu, Recovery Girl, Midoriya-shounen, and two old friends. Otherwise the staff know about my injury. And before you ask, Midoriya-shounen knows about One For All because he's the current wielder. But he does not know about its past just yet. I have been hoping to tell him later, but I fear that All For One is back" he replied to the teen's question.
Percy stared at Toshinori for a long time trying to figure out his intentions. He had a gut feeling that there was more to the connection between him and Midoriya, Hades Hound Dog had been talking about All Might showing favoritism for hours. But try as he might, the vet didn't give any signs as to what the connection was, until now. Percy then considered the entire scenario in front of him right now. "Are you asking me to help him understand how to use his quirk efficiently?" he asked, wondering what the response would be. Once Toshinori nodded, Percy smiled and put his hand out "Alright this week I will be training him to use his quirk and hopefully teach him to not break any bones!" he answered, shocking the hero.
Toshinori was confused. He had expected the boy to be focused on his own training to hone the elements under his control. "I'm grateful that you're willing to help Midoriya-shounen, Percy. But I can't help but wonder why?"
Percy stood up as he answered, "Well for one thing you asked me. Most of the time whenever I had someone ask me to do something, they would say it in a way where I had no choice but to accept. As for the second reason, he saved my life twice. And as a result I owe him" before leaving the room.
The Next Day Dagobah Beach
Midoriya took a deep breath as he waited for his training partner wearing his green training jacket and pants. Oddly enough All Might talked to him in the morning and told him to expect someone to be there to train him. He trusted All Might enough to know that he meant well, but the sudden change in the training regime was off. When he got to Dagobah he noticed Hound Dog waiting by a truck watching the beach. As soon as he walked over to the counselor, the hybrid pointed to the beach. Again trusting the words of All Might and Hound Dog he went to the shoreline and sat meditating.
After 15 whole minutes he was about to leave when all of a sudden he saw someone emerge from the sea completely dry, wearing a sleeveless shirt and loose pants. Midoriya studied the man carefully as he started walking towards him. Suddenly he recognized the black messy hair and green eyes. "Jackson-senpai! You're training me?!"
Percy stood over the shocked boy. "No. We are training together. I'm going to help you out with your quirk. While you help me figure out how to control mine. But first we have to get this straight. You can call me Percy. Understood Bush-Head?" he declared, giving the boy his own nickname.
Midoriya frowned at the nickname. It wasn't insulting but different. "Um Okay Percy. But first, what were you doing that took so long?" he asked to which Percy was beaming. "Oh just talking to the fish about this place. Apparently a year ago this whole beach was a mess until someone with green and black hair was pulling all kinds of junk by himself to clean this beach. Does that seem familiar? " Percy asked as he crept towards Midoriya who was staring into the ocean in shock.
Midoriya couldn't believe it. One of his theories about Percy was true. "Wait, how exactly do you talk to fish? Do you hear them mentally or do you actually talk to them? Do you do the same thing with all aquatic creatures? Is it the same with amphibian creatures as well?.That explains why Asui was nervous around you. And if she was affected then you can also have this effect on other aquatic human hybrids like Gang Orca or… OW" Midoriya stopped ranting as he felt a flick on his head. He looked up to a deadpan stare from Percy.
"All Might was right about you. You truly are the prince of nonsense" Percy muttered, which caused Midoriya to blush. Percy then sat down on the sand as he explained "But to answer your question, I can hear them in my head and when I talk they hear it in their heads. Also I would like to apologize to Tsuyu when I get the chance. I promise I didn't realize that I could affect her that much"
Midoriya reminded himself to add that to his notebook as soon as he got home. "Alright Jackson-senpai what are we… OW" Again Percy flicked his forehead. "I said call me Percy. I'm giving you permission to say my name Bush-Head" Perct reminded the boy to which he corrected "I mean Percy-senpai. What will we be training on today?"
Percy began to frown at Hound Dog as he pointed towards the water. Hound Dog then nodded as he opened his palms. Percy nodded and turned to Midoriya. "First we will need privacy, we don't want anyone to overhear us," he said as he turned to the beach. Calling upon his father's power, he forced his arms outward as the water in front of them parted ways. Midoriya stood in awe at the power Percy had.
Percy then lowered his hands and turned to Midoriya. "Alright now follow me. There's something we need to talk about" he ordered as he walked through the parted waters. Midoriya followed him without hesitation as the two made their way deeper and deeper into the sea.
Once out of Hound Dog's sight, he turned to Midoriya and created a water bubble around his whole body before releasing the hold he had over the water allowing the waters to return to normal. It took Midoriya three whole seconds to realize he was underwater but was breathing normally as if he were on land. "How is this possible?" he asked, his voice a bit deeper than usual.
Percy swam to him and explained "I covered your whole body in a water bubble allowing you to breathe in air like normal. Now I talked to All Might and he told me about your struggle with One For All" he noticed Midoriya panicking and quickly reiterated "Before you start, know that All Might told me about it as I went to him because of visions I've been having. You'll have to ask him what exactly. Anyways I want you to show me how you normally use it"
Pushing his panic aside he focused One For all onto his pinky to limit the damage. Just as he was about to flick it Percy grabbed his hand, forcing Midoriya to stop "Okay stop. Do you see what you're doing?" Percy questioned the boy. Midoriya was about to explain when suddenly Percy continued "You're pushing so much energy into your fingers. And while this can limit the pain it still will hurt. Do you remember my fight with Shigaraki?" Percy asked to which Midoriya nodded. "Okay before I went to fight him, did I cover part of my body in water or all of it?" Midoriya's eyes bulged as he couldn't believe it.
"Of course. This whole time I've been pushing One For All's power into portions of my body instead of letting it cover my entire body. But then the power would be too much." Midoriya wondered out loud. Percy nodded and thought of what to tell the kid before calling on a scene he remembered a show he had watched when he was younger. "Imagine yourself living in a world made of cardboard. If you push too hard, everything around you will break. All Might had problems, not just with the backlash, but also collateral damage. You don't want to destroy people's homes just because you can't handle the amount of power you have, do you?" Percy advised the young boy.
Midoriya took Percy's words to heart as he closed his eyes and concentrated on One For All. It took a while but as he sat, he could feel the surge of power slowly decrease from a raging inferno to a small fire. Once it was done he then let that fire flow throughout his whole body, red lines visible across his arms and legs as green lightning flickered around him.
Percy was impressed. With just a little direction Midoriya was able to control his quirk enough that it didn't hurt him. "Alright then that seems interesting. Now go ahead and punch the water" Percy challenged. Midoriya took his stance as the power flowed around him. Pulling his fist back, he launched his own Detroit Smash into the water. Before Midoriya's flick created a massive whirlpool in a lake. Now the punch had little to no effect. "Interesting. How much did you lower your output?" he asked the boy.
Midoriya was still amazed that he finally threw a punch using One For All on purpose and yet nothing was broken. "I used 5 percent of it. That's all I could use right now safely without breaking anything in my body" he replied. What he expected was the veteran to be disappointed at such a low level. What ended up happening was that Percy's eyes widened as he looked to be in shock.
And he was. Midoriya had just learned that he needed to reduce his output, and in only a few minutes he lowered it so much that it felt like five percent. Shaking his head he realized that the two have been down for too long. "Okay. Now we have to go back to the beach before WereDog sends in the Coast Guards for us" he stated, earning a polite laugh at the nickname, as he and Midoriya swam back to the surface.
Indeed Ryo was waiting for them as they spent almost nine and a half minutes underwater. When he saw the two boys surface, he put his phone down and kept an eye on the two. He didn't understand why Nezu and All Might wanted the two to have a private conversation, even if they wanted to thank each other they could've done so no matter who was watching, but according to the principal and number one hero, it was a discussion they had to have in private. So he settled with Percy. 10 minutes at most. And if they didn't show up, he was going to call Selkie. Thankfully whatever the discussion the two had, it seemed to have had a positive impact on Midoriya. Ryo's eyes widened when Midoriya activated his quirk with relative ease and attempted to strike the elemental teen with seemingly no injuries, only for Percy to dodge to his right and hit him with a jab to the side.
Ryo grabbed his phone and secretly recorded the practice fight the two had as it seemed Percy was teaching him kickboxing from what he heard. As the two sparred, with Midoriya having to dodge and counter the taller teen, Ryo then sent the video to Aizawa, who seemed to be conflicted. From what he knew about the underground hero, he was both happy and miffed at the same time, happy that Midoriya found a safer way to use his quirk, and miffed that yet again Percy had been involved.
Hours Later Midoriya Apartment.
Inko Midoriya was a little worried. Normally Izuku's workouts were intense but today he was late. He did call her to let her know he was okay but that he had a guest who he convinced to bed with him for the night. She always trusted her son's choices, even if she was worried about him attending UA, he seemed to be a lot happier than he was at Aldera. He had friends now in Uraraka and Iida, and his classmates were not looking down on him. But tonight, Izuku wouldn't tell her who was coming and it seemed off for some reason.
When the doorbell rang, she rushed to the front door and opened it. She immediately saw Izuku looking as if he took a beating but with a massive smile on his face. Behind him was, to her shock and awe, Perseus Jackson with a shy look on his face. She managed to look away from the two and noticed a truck with a dog/human hybrid grinning before speeding off, leaving the tall teen muttering angrily. Izuku then got inside and took his shoes off. "Mom, I'm sure you know Perseus Jackson. He prefers to be called Percy. He's going to be training with me for the Sports Festival. Percy, this is my mom Inko Midoriya" Izuku introduced the two.
Percy, feeling awkward in the short woman's presence, bowed so low his head almost touched the floor. "Konbanwa Midoriya-san, my name is Persues Jackson. I humbly ask your permission to stay the night with you and your son" Percy asked. Inko was touched by the young man's manners. It was clear he was still adapting to Japan and its culture yet he seemed intent on making sure she was not insulted in any way.
Inko then turned to Izuku who proceeded to cry crocodile tears and relented "Konbanwa Percy. Please come in. I must say when Izuku called and asked me for someone to stay with us, I was expecting one of his friends from UA and was preparing to give him the talk" she confessed, which brought a bit of a chuckle from the bowing teen as he raised his head as Izuku turned to his mother with a lighthearted glare.
"If it was Uraraka I can definitely see why. After all, I could sense the, uhh, tension between the two" Percy commented, causing Inko to laugh as Izuku's face resembled a ripe tomato. Percy then took off his shoes and set them aside next to Izuku's shoes.
Inko gave the teen a tour of the house, which caused Percy to have flashbacks of his own apartment he shared with his mom. When he got to Izuku's room, he stared at the room in disbelief. It was a damned altar to All Might! Posters, toys, pillowcases, you name it Izuku had it. Percy turned to Izuku who had the decency to be embarrassed as they moved to the kitchen for dinner.
Inko prepared katsudon for her son and chicken katsu for Percy, who tried to convince her otherwise but his own stomach betrayed him. As they were about to eat, they noticed Percy being a bit conflicted. "Is there something wrong Jackson-san?" Inko asked, knocking Percy out of his daydream.
Percy quickly shook his head as he reassured the Midoriyas, "Oh it's nothing. The food smells amazing. It's just that the three of us sitting here just made me remember my mom. Sorry for the scare". He then followed Inko and Izuku's lead by clasping their hands together as they bowed before eating.
As they ate, Inko asked "So how was my son today? No broken bones today I hope?" She said pointedly as Izku lowered his head in shame. Percy smiled and answered "Well we found a way for him to safely use his quirk, while also allowing it to augment his entire body. With a bit of training he'll be able to gradually gain more power before he can use 100%. But I can already see the potential powerhouse in him." Izuku blushed at the praise before sulking as Percy continued "his fighting style however needs work. He does have some useful tips but he's telegraphing his punches. I'll make sure to fix that by the sports festival."
Inko smiled at the progress with tears flowing freely down her eyes. "That's good to hear. But what about you Jackson-san? Izuku told me about your circumstances, and the challenge UA gave you. And yet you're here?" she wondered, as did Izuku.
Percy smirked as he turned to Midoriya "Well your son seems to be the hero encyclopedia according to his classmates. As a result, if there is one person who could give me examples of how certain people use specific elements, it will be him. So two birds and one stone I guess. I get to train Izuku while learning possible new ways of utilizing the elements safely" he answered, which brought a smile to Izuku's face.
After dinner Percy insisted on cleaning the dishes, after all according to Hound Dog he was to stay with the Midoriyas for a week until the Sports Festival. Once the dishes were clean, Izuku took Percy to his room "Sorry again if we made you uncomfortable" Izuku apologized to which Percy shrugged. "Don't worry about it. What happened was due to a flashback, nothing either of you did anything to cause it. Now lets see these fire based heroes you were talking about earlier" he reassured the younger teen. Izuku smiled briefly before pulling out his notebook as he showed Percy his notes on Endeavor and Burnin.
Percy had to give it to Izuku. He was thorough with his analysis of heroes. It reminded him of Annabeth and her siblings and how thorough they were whenever they tackled any problem. Too much of her, to be honest. He dried his eyes trying not to give the Midoriyas any reason to suspect anything as he studied on Endeavor, wondering how the man's facial hair was on fire. "That's weird. How is his beard and moustache on fire and yet he doesn't feel it?"
Izuku also was a bit confused as he rambled "Well not many people have seen Endeavor in private so if I had to guess it's similar to him breathing. He just does it? But I'm sure if you ask him he might answer you". Percy noticed the odd tone in his voice. When talking about Burnin, Endeavor's main sidekick, Izuku's eyes were gleaming. But with Endeavor, something felt off. He clearly admired the man but that was it. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths inhaling and exhaling as he felt the fire within. Slowly but surely, his hands were covered in small fires which then extended to his elbows. Feeling a bit satisfied he watched in awe as the flames grew in size. Realizing where he was he focused on containing them. And as fast as they grew, the flames were quickly snuffed out.
Izuku watched in disbelief. "That was amazing. How did you do that?" He asked. Percy shook his head and answered "It seems my fires are based on my emotions. The stronger they are, the more powerful. That explains that strong blast I threw at Crusty. I was furious with him at the time. But clearly I cannot use this power here. And don't even get me started on earth until we're back in Dagobah. I don't want to start an earthquake/tsunami" Percy answered.
Izuku nodded to the man's reasoning "That's fair well I guess thats it for today?" he asked hoping that it wasnt. Percy grinned from ear to ear and answered "Not yet you still have a few videos to watch about kickboxing. And tomorrow the both of us will be training so much that our limbs will fall off." Izuki gulped at the implications and sent a silent prayer to whichever gods were listening to give him the strength.
One Week Later
UA 1-A Waiting Room
Izuku Midoriya was happy to be back with his classmates. Even if he was going to have to fight them, he was happy to finally be amongst his own peers. The last week saw him train relentlessly with One For All at 5% percent as he and Percy sparred every single day. He was disappointed that he couldn't tag him once, but with every day he got closer and closer. Also kickboxing seemed to fit him quite well. After Percy embarrassed him by asking if he forgot that he had feet, he learned how to use his newfound power to not only boost his jumps, but also deliver powerful gusts with his legs.
Izuku was also happy with Percy. It seemed that with enough control, he could lift up boulders and launch them at any target he wished. When it came to shifting the earth, he was cautious but was able to manage to lift himself along with a small section of earth he was standing on. He also started diving underground trying to test his limits. As with fire, he incorporated it into his fighting style so that with every strike, he would send a blast of fire a certain distance depending on how much fire he wished. Percy also used a different style with air, a more defensive style if Izuku had to say as he would dodge and counter with air gusts. All in all, Izuku knew that Percy was more than ready to take on UA's best. And he knew that his goal to be the number one hero had to go through Percy himself.
As of now, he was wearing UA's gym uniform as he and his classmates waited. He listened to Mina complaining about using her hero outfit and Iida directing traffic when suddenly he noticed Shoto Todoroki walking towards him. Remembering Percy's breathing exercise, he counted to four before inhaling and exhaled after four seconds, calming his nerves as he turned to the dual haired teen "Is there something wrong Todoroki-kun?" He asked.
Everyone stopped and stared at the two. Shoto studied Midoriya's face as he tried to understand him. " Midoriya. Between the both of us, it is fair to say that I am the stronger one. Yet somehow it seems that you have All Might's attention. I don't care what the relationship between the two of you is about. Know that I will defeat you" he coldly stated as he looked into Midoriya's eyes. Surprisingly, Midoriya didn't seem intimidated whatsoever.
Kaminari whistled and declared "What's this another declaration of war? This is getting better and better?" Kirishima, however, stepped towards Todoroki and gently laid a hand on his shoulder "Hey, what's the big deal? Let's not start a fight minutes before the festival" he tried to mitigate the tension which Todoroki shrugged off as he walked away.
"Todoroki-kun" Shoto stopped as he turned to Midoriya, who was looking directly at him. "I don't know why you're targeting me. It's true that objectively, you are stronger than I am right now. However, you forgot two important things. The first is that I am not your only opponent today. Everyone here as well as the students from the other courses want to prove their worth today. Secondly, along with the competition from the other courses, we have the one man who's on par with the adults themselves. He's here to earn a spot in UA, and I can tell you personally that he's too powerful to ignore. So I promise to give it my all today, not just to aim for the top, not to just prove my worth, but because that's the only way to beat him" Midoriya swore as he closed his fist and held it across his body.
Everyone knew who Midoriya was talking about. The one man who fought alongside All Might. The one man the news raved about since he appeared a week ago. Percy Jackson was going to be competing today for a spot in UA.
Suddenly a voice was heard behind Iida "Thanks for the compliment Bush-Head. You're making me blush." causing everyone to turn towards the doorway, their eyes widening as they saw a pair of sea green eyes along with messy hair just above Iida's head
Iida turned around as he looked into the eyes of Percy Jackson, who had a smirk on his face. "You have some nerve showing up here after what you did last week" Iida shouted at the man who ignored him as he walked towards the girls. Specifically to Tsuyu Asui who was surrounded by her classmates to protect her from him. Percy sighed and lowered his head towards Tsuyu "My sincerest apologies for putting you in an uncomfortable position last week. My powers over water allow me to communicate with aquatic organisms. And to be honest I had no idea I would have that effect on you. I swear I will not use my powers to influence you whatsoever" he stated, leaving the girls speechless. Tsu was touched by the gesture and nodded "You don't have to apologize. I knew you didn't mean to. You were concerned for my safety along with Midoriya-chan and Mineta. And while I felt uncomfortable at first, I realized that you weren't trying anything" she said, accepting the apology. Percy raised his head and smiled before turning to the doorway.
Everyone just watched him walk towards the door in silence. Once he reached the doorway, he looked back towards the students and gave one solid piece of advice "Give everything you've got and then some. That way you have a better chance atbeating me" before walking away.
Mt Olympus 2009
A meeting had been set for today. All the Olympains were in attendance today. Not only that but Hades and Hestia were in attendance as well. Also attending the meeting was Thalia, Clarisse, Annabeth, Will, Nico, Grover, and Chiron. Normally Hades wouldn't attend such a meeting, but lately Persephone had been pushing him to go and try to make things better between his brothers.
The meeting itself contained bickering from all sides. The twins were arguing with each other as Hermes had to step in between them. Heapheastus was ignoring Ares's request to fix his bike, which angered the God of War so much he began swearing. Demeterand Hades were arguing again about what happened with Persephone. And Zeus had to keep Hera away from him as she kept on yelling and screaming about infidelity.
Oddly enough Posiedon and Athena were quite civil. They were in talks with Annabeth along with Hestia about the latest scenario involving Percy Jackson. Also Annabeth showed a design on Daedalus's laptop to the two, which earned a beaming smile from them both as they fully approved.
Suddenly a rift was opened as Chronos stepped out of it. The Olympians stood in shock. He had not come alone this time. He actually brought a mortal with him. Not just any mortal, Sally Jackson, Perseus's mother. Poseidon shook his head before attempting to create a throne for Sally who shook her head, forcing him to stop immediately.
"Hello again. If you're wondering, Sally is my guest today. She is not to be harmed whatsoever, otherwise I will have Chaos get involved. Now it's time for another view into the future. If you're wondering, the connection between our timeline and the timeline Perseus is stuck in is almost complete. However we will not be able to send any living being through just yet. Now Annabeth, would you please inform the council of Perseus's status?" Chronos asked.
Annabeth took a deep breath as she placed Riptide in the Hearth, allowing it to display a prior scene of Percy dressed up as Chiron talking about the Sports Festival. Athena smacked her head while Artemis had to contain herself, Thalia couldn't and fell on the floor laughing, while Hermes and Apollo were rolling on the ground. Hades just snickered while Zeus had to roll his eyes. Oddly enough Poseidon again just waited "While I have to say I am wondering why my son is dressing up as Chiron, I must ask why would you show us this clip?"
Annabeth then cleared her throat and stated "In a few moments, Percy will be competing in an event in which he has to succeed in order to earn a place in UA, the current school for aspiring heroes. Every single one of his opponents have been training for this day for other reasons concerning their own careers as this is their opportunity to show the world what they can do."
Silence filled the room before Artemis commented, "They do realize that this is unfair for the students right? After all, Jackson has at least four years of experience, and defeated my idiotic brother over there. And he partnered with that man to defeat an abomination"
Ares turned around to Artemis and was about to yell out only to be silenced by Athena "Even so this is not something he can take lightly. Underestimating your opponents is what helped him beat Ares in the first place" she said.
Ares was livid at this point "Hey the only reason that brat beat me was because we fought on a beach. Anywhere else and I would've won easily" he yelled out. Poseidon shook his head and stated "Exactly what Athena just said."
Zeus slammed his armrest. "Artemis, Athena, enough. Recounting past events will not have any impact. Now Lord Chronos, I believe you cane because you wanted us to witness this tournament Jackson had to compete in?" he asked as he reprimanded his daughters.
Chronos nodded as he created a large warp which he then used in conjunction with Riptide to create a projection of what was happening in 2148. Everyone watched closely as students entered a large stadium that was filled to the brim. Annabeth pointed out students from Class 1-A as they were the first to arrive. They were then followed by Class 1-B, then General Studies, Support, and Business Course classes. And finally Percy Jackson had arrived, wearing a blue top with white and red stripes with matching pants. Curiously, he was wearing the same outfit as the students themselves.
Athena pondered the image displayed and smiled "I see. This isn't a challenge for Jackson to beat in order to join UA. UA is scouting him in the guise of s challenge. Jackson wanted to earn his spot and he will, but even if he doesn't win it all, he will still be a part of UA" she explained, which forced many people to turn to her confused.
"That Seaweed Brain must've told the Principal that he wanted to earn his spot in UA, that way the students don't feel as if he's been given a free pass. That's why he told them that he had to win in order to join UA. Good to know that UA has a smart principal" Annabeth added on to her mother's explanation causing everyone to nod warily.
Chronos laughed as he changed the image to display the teachers sitting with the principal. "That would be the rat sitting on the human/dog hybrid's shoulders" he said, shocking everyone. A rat was the principal. Before Annabetth and Athena could talk about what he really is, Chronos changed the image again showing closeups of heroes in the stands "This event is also for the students to show their abilities to heroes all over Japan" he started explaining but stopped as he heard drooling and slaps. He turned and noticed Zeus, Apollo, and Ares with bright red marks on their cheeks. He turned back to the image and saw what drew their attention. Three women sitting next to each other, one with rabbit ears wearing a white leotard with a moon crest on her busty chest, a blonde haired woman in a crimson dress with what appeared to be claws covering her right side, and a woman with purple and pink hair wearing a dark bodysuit with two plates underneath her chest.
Chronos turned back to the three perverts with a deadpan stare and asked"Do any of you have any self control whatsoever? Besides these three are dedicated heroes. They're not in any way shape or form interested in a relationship." Shaking his head he turned back to Percy who was staring at a podium in horror.
UA Stadium
Percy was a bit nervous. The first time he had this many people watching him was in Antaeus' Arena and the people watching were all monsters wanting his blood. Now he had people cheering him and everyone else on. Present Mic was running commentary and announced the referee to be, of all people, Midnight.
Suddenly the ground shifted as a podium came up from underneath revealing Midnight in her hero costume. Percy lowered his head towards his hands as the dominatrix waved her whip before announcing "And to recite the student pledge, give it up for Persues Jackson!"
Everyone turned to the man out of time who looked on in horror. He was supposed to give a speech! IN FRONT OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE! LIVE ON TELEVISION. Fear ran down his spine. He turned to Midnight with a look of rage who smiled as she pointed to a booth. 'Damn it Nezu. I promise I will get back at you one day' he swore to himself as he readied himself.
Done for this chapter. Sorry for the long wait. I was having my room renovated so I had quite a bit on my plate. You should know that I'm making Nagant, Mirko, and Ryukyu watch the event together as those three will be referenced a lot.
