This is the chapter where science gets thrown out the window, so I apologize in advance to my readers who have a better understanding of DNA.

Area 11

"I'm sorry, Rivalz." The student council room was silent watching Miles and Rivalz.

"Sorry?" Rivalz asked.

"Y'know, for yelling at you." All the heads turned to Rivalz to see his response.

"Oh, yeah, that. I think I should apologize too, obviously you're a bit stressed." Focus was then directed to Miles.

"So, we cool?" Miles asked.

"Yeah, we cool."

"Ugh!" Everyone turned to Milly who looked to be in pain, of course she wasn't. "Where is the drama, the tears, the confessions of love!?" The room could only groan as Milly shed her crocodile tears.

"Sorry to disappoint Prez." Rivalz shrugged at Milly's loss of entertainment.

Before Miles could say anything, his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID to see Reed's name on it.

"Sorry, important phone call, gotta take this." Miles excused himself as he exited the room alone.

Miles entered the hallways and chose the nearest empty room he could find, once inside he answered the phone. "Hey, whats up Reed?"

"Miles, wow, this thing is incredible!" Miles moved his head away from the phone as Reed yelled in his ear.

"Ouch."

"Sorry, I was just so blown away from the sample you gave me! Jacob Conners managed to create a solution to a problem I never even thought of."

"Can you reverse it? That's all I need to know." Miles asked.

"I've been working on it since it came in the mail last night, the magic of shipping in the modern day is fantastic. I believe I have a good understanding of the science behind it, I'll refrain from explaining it over the phone but just know that there is a critical flaw in the formula Conners used."

"Critical flaw?" Miles asked again.

"Yes, how should I explain? Okay, imagine a strand of DNA, in this case Conners. His DNA is mostly intact, the lizard DNA is no more attached to his own than a piece of paper stapled onto another. The binds that connect them can be severed, it will take some time to recover after the antidote is injected...but if he has done what I've heard, I doubt he will see the outside of a prison cell in a long time. Perhaps forever." The thought hadn't come across Miles yet, if he cured Jacob he could potentially be sentencing him to life in prison, or worse. But that wasn't his fault, Jacob took the risks, Jacob tried to kill Dean Ashford. Now it was Spider-Man's job to deal with it.

"I understand Reed, but Jacob needs to be dealt with."

"You have others, Tony Stark, and that Captain America fellow. You don't have to be the one to shoulder the responsibility."

"The chances I have of getting the Black Knights and military to cooperate is less than nonexistent, Reed. I think Zero might be able to stomach it, but Cornelia wouldn't even bother, not when they tried to kill her." Before he could continue he heard a voice coming from the hallway.

"Miles! You have gym in a few minutes!" Miles sighed as he called back.

"Thanks Shirley!"

"I see you have life to get back to, I'll let you go and get to work. See you later." This time it was Reed to end the call.

Miles put the phone away and left the room, it was time to be a student instead of a hero now.

Black Knights Submarine

Call Steve Rogers an old man, but seeing a submarine was still amazing to him.

"I remember when diving suits were revolutionary, but this is incredible." Steve said as he walked the halls.

"I forget you're technically a few hundred years old." Kallen said as the two walked the halls.

"I don't look bad for my age, do I?" Steve joked, Kallen chuckled with him.

"For being a few hundred years old? You look fine." That got a laugh out of Steve.

The two of them turned into the cafeteria, the room was full of fellow soldiers but they managed to find their own spot in a corner.

"The view reminds me of my old unit during the war, a sense of camaraderie and union." Steve sighed with nostalgia remembering the late nights.

"Your old unit?" Kallen asked.

"Captain America didn't do all the work alone, y'know. I was in charge of my own unit, the Howling Commandos. It was me, Dugan, Morita, Jones, Sawyer...and Bucky." It didn't take a genius to see that the names brought some memories with it.

"They must've meant a lot to you."

"The world. I trusted them with my life, and they trusted me in return. I failed that trust when I never came back, I won't fail again with the Black Knights." Kallen smiled and lightly punched Steve in the shoulder.

"Behind the soldier-boy attitude, you're a real softy." Steve looked down and laugh, as he looked back up he could see C.C. enter the room with a cardboard box of pizza.

"She really hasn't changed." Steve said.

"She? You mean C2?" Kallen asked as she followed his vision to the green-haired mistress.

"When I fought with Washington, C.C. was there. When I asked the general at the time, he only said that they had a contract. I didn't think much of it then, she could have been his mistress, or perhaps a spy. It was not my place to say. But to see her now, it's like she never changed." The two of them watched as C. to the kitchen and back out with a drink.

"Wait, you're telling me that C.C. is as old as you are?" Kallen asked flummoxed.

"Yes."

"And she was aiding Washington?" Kallen clarified.

"George said that C.C. was a vital asset to the war, and had the same clearance that he had. Whatever they were doing, George clearly trusted her a great deal. It's ironic how history repeats itself."

Kallen could only watch as C.C. exited the room, seeing her in a new light. If C2 was around during Steve's time...

"How old is she?" Kallen asked, not expecting an answer.

Clovis Art Gallery, Area 11

It comforts Euphemia to browse the paintings of Clovis, it feels like a connection to her older brother...the last she has left of him.

"Ma'am, we have an appointment in 30 minutes with Duke Windsor." Monica advised Euphemia from behind her.

"I remember Monica, I'll be ready in a few minutes, get the car ready." Monica nodded and left to get the car.

Euphemia moved to the next painting, a full portrait of Clovis in his full glory. Euphemia could only chuckle as she remembered the first time Clovis had challenged her to chess. She was ten at the time, Clovis had just finished his eighteenth birthday party and asked her to meet in his family's villa.

The match was one-sided, she never had the tack for chess, unlike her brother. But she didn't really care about the match, she and Clovis enjoyed a nice night of small laughs and ribbing.

"I miss you brother, happy birthday." Euphemia lay down a bundle of Viola flowers that grew in his family villa. She hoped that if there was indeed a Heaven, Clovis would be there planning the most outlandish and fantastical parties.

Euphemia turned around and exited the building to the limo parked out front. When she stepped out however she was tackled to the ground immediately.

"Stay down Princess!" One of her guards said, keeping Euphemia low to the ground.

"What is going on!?" She asked desperately before she heard the shouting.

"Put down the gun!" Euphemia heard one of her bodyguards yell near the limo.

From the steps of the art gallery, she could see a disheveled soldier in uniform holding a gun to Monica. It wasn't just any soldier, it was a Japanese soldier, from the now defeated JLF. He looked shaky, his clothes tattered, and the gun looked as grimy as he did. He looked to be a bit older than Suzaku, and the thought terrified her.

"Damn you Britannians, you've ruined everything!" He shouted as he pressed the gun closer to Monica.

"Stop it, let her go!" Euphemia stood up away from her escort.

"Princess don't!" Monica said as the disheveled JLF soldier looked to Euphemia.

"You people have tarnished my home, now I'll take revenge for the millions you have killed!" The soldier turned his gun away from Monica to Euphemia, ready to fire.

"No!" Everyone anticipated the shot, but it never came.

The young boy stood still and quickly started to crumble. The strong arm holding onto Monica limped off of her, when she pushed off of him she could see that something had changed.

The boy turned older and older, his once youthful face morphed into that of a middle-aged man, and continued until he could have easily been mistaken as an elderly. A pink haze had surrounded his body as he grew older, she heard a gasp and the effects stopped. The young boy, now an old senior fell to the ground. Monica quickly kicked the gun away and handcuffed them.

As the rest of the security detail was busy detaining him, Monica turned to the princess with hands raised to her face. Over the talking, she could hear the words from her mouth.

"What have I done?"

Ashford Academy

Miles once asked Milly why Gym was still a required course in college, she said that it was to make Lelouch start working out. When Miles first started, he thought it was ridiculous to make gym just for one guy. Now he knows why.

"Lamperouge, you're tailing behind move your legs more or you'll end up like me!" Coach Flash yelled from the center of the track, watching Lelouch pitifully trail behind everyone else.

Miles could only feel sympathy for him, of course he had the opposite problem. When he was in middleschool and got his spider powers, Miles had to hold back. No showing off, no breaking records, nothing that could seem like he had changed.

"You good Lelouch?" Miles slowed down to match Lelouch's pace, the guy looked more ragged than some of the rats he'd seen in the subways of New York.

"Lungs… on fire…"He spoke between gasps of air.

"We'll get you some water when we get to the finish line." Miles clapped Lelouch on the back, only for him to stumble as if he was about to fall. "Oops, sorry." Miles apologized.

When they reached the finish line, Miles pulled out his water bottle for Lelouch who gladly drank it up. It was as if he went through the desert for days without water.

"Gotta say Lamperouge, your time has improved by thirty seconds. Have you been working out behind my back?" Flash asked as he wheeled himself over the duo.

Lelouch didn't say, but in his mind the memory of his jogging session with the black knights came to mind. It was an awful day.

"Bleh…" Lelouch could hardly say anything as his mouth was stuck on the water bottle.

"Than maybe it's Morales helping you. You know, I'm sure the track and field team could use an extra, with some training I'm sure I can get you up to speed." Miles chuckled at the joke but shook his head and refused.

"Sorry Flash, but schoolwork is first." Miles shrugged.

"Oh come on, you're fit, I've seen the way you play ball. You got some skill kid." Flash said. Miles tried not to brag, but he was pretty good at basketball even before the spider powers (thanks Unc Aaron). Though it hardly seems fair now, that's not even taking into account his vigilante work.

"Sorry Teach." Miles reiterated.

"Well, if you ever reconsider, feel free to hit me up. I'm sure I can find a sport for you. Take care of Lamperouge there, I think he just might feint by the way he's drinking that water." Flash pointed to Lelouch who had just finished the bottle.

"I'll be sure to look out for the guy." Miles said.

"I appreciate you two talking as if I'm not here, truly." Lelouch gave a deep sigh after he put down the bottle.

"Ha! Enjoy the rest of your day boys, try and get some meat on those bones Lamperouge." Flash laughed as he strolled away.

"Let's get some lunch, shall we? Running has given me quite the appetite." Lelouch started to walk towards the main campus when a phone in his bag rang, and Lelouch knew immediately what it was.

"Excuse me for a minute Miles, I have a call to take. Go ahead of me and I'll meet up with you later." Miles nodded and left him to his call.

Lelouch picked up the phone and answered, "This is Zero."

"Um, Zero, this is Ohgi. The Mandarin is here, he wants to speak with you, he says it's urgent. He's here now." Lelouch sighed.

"Put him on the phone." Lelouch demanded, he could hear the passing of hands as Ohgi did as he was told.

"Hello Zero." The voice of The Mandarin spoke.

Lelouch checked his surroundings once more and continued the conversation, "Ohgi tells me you have something urgent."

"For many years I have been searching for one thing, I have sunk a fortune into finding it. And now, I finally know where it is. If you can get me what I want, I will lend you my forces and finances, do we have a deal?" Lelouch was suspicious, what was he looking for so much that he would invest so much into the Black Knights?

"I will consider the proposal," His stomach started to growl, curse his stamina. "When I return I expect a good reason, right now I am busy."

"Of course, Zero, no good businessman runs head first into a deal. I anticipate our next meeting." The Mandarin closed the phone, on his end Ohgi looked at him with suspicion.

"I don't know what you're up to, but if this jeopardizes our organization-"

"Trust me, Mr. Kaname, if we succeed it will be a blessing to us all." The Mandarin could only smile, the last makluan ring was in Japan. He had felt its use, it was so tantalizingly close!

The rings will become whole again, SO SAID THE MANDARIN!

Definitely had a few rewrites on this chapter, it just didn't sit well with me. Anyway, next chapter we will definitely see the culmination of the Lizard and maybe perhaps might see something with the Sinister Six since they've been waysided for a bit longer than I'd like...you know just a chance. ¯\_()_/¯
