The Wings of Demise

Chapter Three: First We Attack Their Heart.

The Dark World.

The Shadowy Orochi let out one last silent howl from all eight of his heads, and collapsed to the ground, the body fading away into the Dark World as Ghidorah watched, a massive frown on his faces. Yes, the damned Demon was dead, but Desghidorah was gone, and he could only assume that Bagan was fuming. "Master…. You look unpleased…..." Gezora's tentacle touched one of the golden dragon's shoulders, his voice filled with concern. "Would you like to drain some of my life energy? If it will make you happier."

"No Gezora, but thank you for your offer," Ghidorah huffed, "I need to go and kill my brother right now." Ghidorah then opened up a dark portal, but before he could step out, Bagan's voice suddenly echoed throughout his heads.

"Now my dear son, what are you doing? Going after your brother right now?"

"Yes…. I will destroy him properly this time father….. now leave me be."

"No. Ghidorah you are not to interfere with what will happen to him, nor are you allowed to contact him. If he dies, then he dies. Find another way to entertain yourself for now, and I assure you, we will know of his fate very soon."

"…Yes father…." Ghidorah gritted all of his fangs, and closed the portal, no longer sensing his father's presence. Gezora slithered away, sensing his master did not want to be around anyone, leaving Ghidorah alone as he looked at the viewing globe. "Varan… I wish you were here right now. I could use someone to talk to instead of all of these useless worms father keeps around…."

"Useless?" Dagahra stepped out from the other side of the globe with Deutalios in tow, and walked right up to Ghidorah, standing next to him. "If by useless you mean those humans, then yeah, but if you mean me, then we have a problem here. You see, I am Master of the Sea, and once Guardian of Atlantis, and-" Ghidorah then suddenly turned around, and with two of his heads biting into Dagahra's flesh, picked up the water dragon and slammed him against, the globe, causing it to crackle just a bit from the impact.

"If you so much as utter one more word," Ghidorah snarled as he started to charge a gravity beam, "Then I will tear your throat out so you can never speak again!" Dagahra started to choke out one more thing, causing Ghidorah to roar in fury right before he suddenly felt sharp claws dig into his neck.

"Ya bump off Dagahra," Deuatalios giggled, "Then I'll bump you off and make it look like an accident. GOT IT!?" Ghidorah then quickly whipped his head, sending Deuatalios flying away, before he calmed down, and let Dagahra go.

"You have a big anger problem buddy," Dagahra gasped, laughing lightly, "So what? You scared of me? Tell me this, if you really are all that, then why don't we fight? My own turf too, because hey, if you can beat me, then I'll gladly give up my title and give it to you." Ghidorah stayed silent, looking at the globe as he watched Desghidorah attacking a city. "No? Okay then, have it your way. Scared of a little water…..."

"You put him up to this, didn't you? You are responsible for him leaving, aren't you?" Ghidorah's left head had turned away from the viewing globe, and started to address the water dragon. "I know how close both of you are… and I bet you told him to do this… betraying our Master because he lacked the spine to even think of a plan like this." Deuatalios was sitting on top of Dagahra's head, glaring at Ghidorah while Dagahra himself suddenly laughed loudly, making sure not to knock the rat off his head.

"Me? I told him he needed to stand up for himself, that was all. How was I supposed to know he'd go and do something like this? Huh?!" Dagahra then got right in Ghidorah's face, repeating the "Huh" as he got louder and louder. "I was hoping he'd kick your ass and hopefully your old man too, but this? Oh Zenith…. It's even better than what I coulda hoped for! But no, I didn't put him up to this, if anything, I'd say it was you two who put him up to this…. The poor bastard could only take so much from you…. so, there's your answer." On the globe, Desghidorah flew off after blowing Caesar away, and with a huff, Ghidorah left, flying off somewhere in the distance of the Dark World. Dagahra then turned to the viewing globe, watching Desghidorah.

"Boss? You okay?!" Deuatalios jumped off of the dragon's head, and could see him looking at the globe with a look of concern on his face. "HEY!"

"Oh, nothing wrong little buddy," Dagahra sighed as he watched Desghidorah fly, "It's just, I have no idea what will happen with him. Got to be honest here, I think I was the only other guy he could really relate with here, and now he's out and about, all alone. Hey little buddy? Can I ask you something?" Deutalios listened intently as Dagahra closed his eyes, thinking of what to say next. "If Desghidorah somehow manages to annihilate the Earth Defenders…would you mind if I asked him to join us in our trip when it comes time for it? I think we could use some help…."

"Why not Boss? Hehehehe!" Deutalios laughed wildly as Dagahra turned back to the globe, and saw it cut off completely, leaving him wondering what would happen to Desghidorah. The dragon always seemed to be a headcase, and yet deep down, Dagahra could sense that he was bottling up years of anger, and now was finally letting them all out, in some display of rebellion against some being that he couldn't even fully grasp. He wondered how well Irys, Barugon, and Zedus would get along with Desghidorah, and if they all could work together to overpower and destroy Bagan. They would be quite a team, he and Desghidorah…...

"Good luck out there… I love ya, you big lug….."

Monster Island: The Desolation of Desghidorah.

When Junior had initially found the island, he had thought of it as home, and that it was a safe place to be. It reminded him so much of Birth Island before its destruction, and before Neo had arrived, when it was just him and his father. The island was far away from anything that could hurt him, and while he was lonely at first, it was also a place where he met others. Mothra, Leo, and Anguirus, much like him, were also lonely, and somehow, this island had drawn them together. Monster Island was something special to Junior, and seeing how it had changed made him wonder if more would be drawn to it, like he and many others had.

But now….. it no longer felt safe. The hot crimson lighting was overpowering the young Kaiju's atomic ray, the middle head of the dragon firing and firing as he flew in the air. With one more thrust, the dragon quickly sent Junior flying back and landed on the ground, seeing the other kaiju charging towards him. "Strength in numbers, a good tactic," Desghidorah rumbled, all three of his heads speaking in unison, "I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!" Kong's axe quickly swung at the dragon, who jumped back and grabbed the ape in his front claw, tossing him at Anguirus who leaped over the body, and fired off several sonic slashes, hitting all three of the heads. The sky had turned a hellish red as Desghidorah's blasts set parts of the island on fire, filling the air with smoke. Mothra quickly followed up on Anguirus's opening by firing her combination beam, only to watch in horror as Desghidorah quickly leaped away and took to the air, following her, only to see Neo charge into him in his flying form. "Ah you must be Neo….. the one Ghidorah won't shut up about," Desghidorah growled as Neo and Mothra flew through the air gracefully, all three engaged in a dogfight high above Monster Island. Crystals and beams flew throughout the air, creating a spectacular show as the Desghidorah pursued Mothra, with Neo right behind him. Neo's ring-shaped blasts fired out, hitting the dragon and dazing him enough for Mothra to quickly turn around and use her combination beam, sending him flying into one of Neo's crystals.

"Damn it," Kong muttered as he unfurled his chain, swinging it around and charging it up with electricity, "I can't get a clear shot at him." Anguirus looked up nervously, seeing how Mothra grabbed onto one of the dragon's heads while Neo and another got into a beam struggle, the Corona beam being overwhelmed as the second head fired. "What about you Gurius?!"

"I can't either! My Sonic Roar can't reach him out there. Maybe if I can get up higher then I can get him in range." While Anguirus ran towards a rock wall hoping to scale up it, and Kong continued to spin his chain, Junior got up, watching the battle in the skies. His head was buzzing as something long buried began to surface again in his mind, something he hadn't even thought of. Leo watched from his hiding place, his camouflaged body appearing to resemble that of a cave's wall, as he could see Junior's eyes start to slowly glow red. A blast from Desghidorah then hit nearby, sending Anguirus falling to the ground while Mothra's chest beam bounced off of Neo's reflective shield, sending it into a barrier that Desghidorah summoned, the beam then dissipating into the air with a blue explosion. Junior listened, as he could start to hear a quiet voice coming from Anguirus, who was frantically watching the battle, and yet not speaking. "Moth… Damn….. Usele….."

"My psychic power…... I thought it was gone after father died….." Junior got up, his eyes fully red now as he listened to what everyone was thinking. They were all fragmented like Anguirus's thoughts, and soon another buzzing came into his mind, that of a strange BIDIBIDI sound, most likely coming from Desghidorah. The dragon's thoughts were far too chaotic for him to understand, like there were three voices speaking at once.

"Reach…Got….Sacred….Light…."

"Jun…Scare…Me….."

"Not…Kill…For my S….."

"Brother? You…..Have…..Too?"

"Home…..My…..Home….I….brave…."

Junior then turned towards Kong, and extended his hand outwards, decided to try using these powers once again. "What….. Junior? Is that you?" Kong could hear a faint voice in his head, as if it was trying to guide him to do something. "You have telepathy? How the hell did you…. Never mind….. What are you trying to tell me? It's too fragmented…." Junior concentrated harder, closing his eyes as he tried to form his thoughts in less fragmented segments, something that would've been easy for him as a child, but not so much as an adult.

"Kong…..Help….I….Can….Help…..You….Guide…..You…..Watch….Closely…." Junior could feel pain in his head, and realized that he couldn't concentrate anymore. Thankfully, he could see from Kong's face that he understood his last statement, and with renewed valor, he turned back, listening as Junior pushed all he could into one final burst. "DO IT NOW!"

"You call yourself the Wings of Demise," Neo snidely taunted Desghidorah, slashing him across the back with one of his arm blades, "Then show it to me! FIGHT ME AT YOUR BEST!"

"Glady," Vicious rumbled as he suddenly lashed out, and grabbed onto Neo, Leader and Nutcase following suit as they started to discharge crimson bolts into him. It was then that something cold and hard wrapped around Desghidorah's leg, and distracted, he let go of Neo, who fell back to the island, knocked out of his flying form. "WHAT IS THIS?"

"The power of my people." Kong then discharged his electricity through the chain, and into Desghidorah, causing the dragon to screech in agony. "NOW GET OVER HERE!" Kong whipped the chain back, pulling Desghidorah to the ground right as Anguirus leaped in front of Kong. Seeing the Angilas starting to stand his ground, Kong quickly covered his ears, as did Junior, who was bleeding from his eyes. The howl of Anguirus's roar hit Desghidorah head on, and the dragon roared as he went flying straight into the ocean's waters, and was submerged instantly. As Desghidorah started to sink, he looked around in confusion, and started struggling to swim. Then suddenly, something dark darted towards him, a massive claw outstretched, and before he could react, the claw pierced Nutcase's eye, digging it out of the socket, and quickly tore it away, with the optic never trailing out.

"MY EYE! YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU, YOU STUPID CUNT!?" It was then that the claw grabbed onto Nutcase and Vicious, and the owner stared Leader right in the face.

"Name's Ebirah," the crustacean calmly introduced himself, "And this is my home. NOW GET OUTTA HERE!" He quickly fired a stream of boiling sea water out of his mouth, hitting Leader who started to growl.

"I think not." Leader then fired out his crimson beam, blasting Ebirah off of him, and then quickly charged up his energy, drawing in Ebirah before unleashing it. "Your bravery was admirable, but it won't help you."

"Junior…. Your eyes…." Mothra flew down, a look of concern on her face, while Anguirus almost collapsed, his sonic roar taking a lot out of him. Kong however raised his axe to the sky, taking in several lightning bolts, and with his other hand, charging up his thunderball. "You are psychic, aren't you?" Junior looked at her, his face locked into a frown, and silently nodded, and Mothra sighed, realizing that he did not want to talk about it right now. She then turned around, and watched as a massive mushroom shaped spray of water blasted out of the ocean, and Ebirah too, landing in the crystal-clear lake, and only managing to moan briefly before he slipped into unconsciousness. Desghidorah flew out, his body crackling with crimson energy as Neo joined them too, the group watching as Desghidorah landing back in the water.

"You've pissed me off," Leader growled. Kong then sent out a blast of lighting from his axe as another crimson beam fired out, the electricity meeting halfway and exploding. The thunderball came next, and Vicious bit onto it, absorbing the energy. He then leaped up, and bringing his front legs down, opened up a fissure and sent flames at the group. Kong and Anguirus leaped out of the way, as did Neo, but Junior wasn't so lucky, and he was sent flying into the cave where Leo was hiding, and could not get up. Desghidorah then charged at Kong, and taking advantage of his confusion, tossed Anguirus into a flying Neo, taking them both out of the battle.

"I'm not afraid of you!" Kong beat his chest and roared, and Mothra joined in, the two taking on Desghidorah together. The dragon bit Kong's arm as he swung his axe onto him, while his other two heads found themselves being blasted by wing lightning, unable to absorb the energy. The dragon then started to draw in energy again, and before the two could react properly, he set off another explosive blast, and Kong screamed as wave and waves of energy washed over him, singing his fur and blasting him into the jungle.

"And then, there was one," Desghidorah laughed, all three of his heads speaking at once, watching as Mothra hovered in front of him, nearly being out of energy. "You Earth Defenders, so pathetic, I expected better out of you. All I got was a group of creatures not worth my time, therefore, pissing me off." He started to approach her, and Mothra still stood her ground, watching as he came closer and closer. "Why do you bother fighting? Why should you save this world? Oh yes, I have seen what the other inhabitants have done to it, and of course, Bagan has employed quite a few." In the cave, Leo could hear all of this, and seeing that Junior could not get up, he crawled out, and watched as the dragon confronted his mother. "I can sense that you are low on energy, you weren't expecting me to break through your shield, were you? You thought yourself safe on this island, this sanctuary. Hm. I will do what father failed to do, and I will break you…..body and spirit…and then….. he will be next. I do mean it when I say in time your son will forget you, and that he will see me as his only parent." Leo started to climb up the wall of the cliff, waiting until he was at a perfect angle to see his mom and the dragon from the back.

"You say all that, and yet you are lost dragon," Mothra responded, her voice sounding tense as she flew closer and still stood her ground, "are you really doing this for yourself, or are you actually doing it for him? You hurt my friends, you threatened my son, you hurt my lover, and for what? FOR WHAT!? I only know of my mother through my memories, but she gave her life to stop your brother. You want an answer? You want to know why I do this damn job?! Because this is my home, and if I didn't then who would? Humans are not perfect creatures by any means, and I am aware of that, but they are capable of as much good as they are evil. Just like we are capable of good and evil. I believe they deserve to live here just like we do, because who are we to judge them? Who are we to decide who lives on this planet? You? Your Master? Ghidorah? I, Mothra? My body may break, I may draw my last breath on this day, but I will never surrender, I will never bow down, I WILL FIGHT TO THE LAST! AND YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH MY SON!" At this Leo started to shake, watching as Desghidorah looked back at his mother with a silent expression on his faces, he wondered how far he could jump, and when would be the time to strike. No more hiding. No more being useless.

"You….. damn you….." Desghidorah could not find the words he wanted to say to this moth, this…...mother….. All he could think about was the love she showed to her son….. knowing that Bagan would never do the same for him. "Then DIE!"

"YOU THINK YOU CAN THREATEN MY MOTHER?! MY FRIENDS!?" Leo jumped off the cliff, and slammed his body into Desghidorah's heads, knocking him back a bit, and landed in front of Mothra, his green eyes turning red as he raised his stinger in the air. "You'll have to get through me first. I won't lose her!"

"Leo!" Mothra's voice was tinged with concern and tiredness, and a sense of fear too. "Hide now! Don't fight him!"

"NO! I'm tired of hiding and being left behind! No more Mom!" Mothra almost gasped with shock at Leo's tone of voice, the red sky making Desghidorah look all the worse as his five red eyes looked down at the larva, like a predator watching its prey.

"What? That little turd is going to defend the Guardian of Earth? Oh, don't make me laugh," Nutcase grinned, "Despite being a cyclops now, I can see that he's nothing to us, just annoying pest that we need to crush."

"No…." Vicious whispered silently, "Not crush him. I sense great power in him, like that of his mother, and power that can become even greater with the right influence. Remember what we were going to do with him."

"You have courage child." Leader looked at Leo, smiling alongside Vicious and Nutcase as Leo continued to stand his ground. "I was wrong about you. I thought you a coward… and yet here you are, trying to stand against me. You are heroic…..but you are so foolish." Mothra quickly flew at Desghidorah, but with a flash of light, she was blown back and stunned by the flash, only hearing a scream as she saw the dragon take to the air and fly away with a squirming Leo in his claws. "Worry not Guardian, I will be his father now…... farewell. Live on as evidence of your failure."

"MOM!"

"LEO!" Mothra flew as hard as she could, but was unable to catch up, and fell to the ground, noticing the holes in her wings. "No…. Leo…." The dragon had disappeared now, and clouds hung overhead as it began to rain, putting out the fires on the island. "My son….no….." Mothra got up, looking at the defeated bodies of her comrades, all of them lying on the ground, defeated. How could she have been so stupid? She should've anticipated this, that someone would attack them and break through her barrier. And now, she had paid for it…... her son was gone and she was here, stuck on this island…. Then she suddenly saw a bright glowing light, something that the Shobijin noticed as they flew out of her, flying right to the source to the light, and landing on one of Neo's crystals. The others had been smashed to bits in the battle, but there was one, glowing brightly with mana. She walked up carefully to the crystal, and touched it, resting her forehead against it as she used it to heal herself. The Shobijin then merged with her again, and she flew up again, glowing golden as she flew towards her comrades, healing them with the extra energy. Anguirus was the first to get up, followed by Kong, the two seeing Mothra's desperate expression, and realizing what happened.

"Leo…." Anguirus pounded the ground in anger as he watched Mothra healing the others, feeling like he had failed his lover. "I'm sorry Mothra…. I'll do anything to help you," he whispered to himself, hearing the words of his father in his head, "I don't want to prove him right. I won't lose another battle."

"He took Leo," Kong muttered, his eyes wide as he slung his axe on his back, "My mom…. When I was surrounded by the Skullcrawlers…. She had the same expression….." Neo woke up next, and grunting as he stood up, he saw the devastation, and Junior lying in the broken cave.

"Brother!" He ran over, and dragged out Junior's unconscious body, nudging him in hopes that he would show some signs of life. "Please…wake up…." Mothra's golden light shined over Junior, who then weakly opened his eyes, looking into Neo's face.

"Hey…. What happened? Wait….. where's Leo?" Junior got up, and looked around, seeing that the dragon was gone, and so was Leo. "Oh no….. no….. he took him."

"Listen to me brother. I don't give a damn if you hate me calling you that, but, I think you and I can help Mothra," Neo growled as he grabbed Junior's shoulder, and moving him to look at Mothra, who was looking at the duo. "You have psychic powers, I saw what you did to Kong, and I can help you harness them."

"Help me? I stopped using them for a reason Neo, and it was because of my damn powers that I lost my father, so I did my best to forget them and pray that they were gone," Junior sighed, "I made an exception just this once, and because of that, Leo is gone. My friend is gone. I failed Mothra. I should've been there to defend him…" Junior looked back at Mothra one more time, and then turned to Neo. "I will use them to help Mothra, but after that… I don't know."

"Alright… then let's do this." Mothra flew over, her antennae glowing as Neo's crest started to glow as well, and Neo grabbed her leg, stretching out his other hand towards Junior.

"Junior…. I heard what you said." Mothra's voice was quivering just a bit, the result of her trying to remain calm while using her powers. "Don't be frightened… This is for Leo….." Junior closed his eyes, and then grabbed onto Neo's hand, and Mothra's other leg, and concentrating once again, his eyes started to glow red, and all three watched as the Earth fell beneath them, and seemed to move faster and faster. Their minds were linked, they all could hear their thoughts, but they ignored them, instead searching for another mind, one in very real danger, and one that was quite close and dear to them. It was then, that they suddenly could see a forest somewhere in the main land, and they almost felt like they were falling into it, only to then hear a voice. "Leo…... He escaped!" Mothra then broke the formation, and all three fell back, Junior breathing heavily as minimal blood came out of eyes this time. "Everyone! Follow me! He's still in danger!" Mothra grabbed onto Anguirus, and flew off as the rain continued to fall, the two having a determined look on their face. Neo was next, and he carried Kong with him, who seemed to be much more worried than the others, as if he was reliving his own worst memories. Ebirah had gotten up too, and disappeared under water, still trembling from the power he had felt from Desghidorah's blast.

Only Junior was left. He looked back at the island, a place that had once felt safe, and saw the destruction, and how damaged it looked. Before he leaped into the water to follow the others, to do anything to save Leo, he closed his eyes, and speaking softly, talked to someone who was no longer in this world, but was there deep in his heart.

"Father, if you are watching over me, guide me and my friends, so we can save Leo from the dragon. Please watch over all of us, so we can bring him home safely, and watch over him, so he won't be hurt. Father…. I still miss you after all of this time….. I wish you could have been here with all of us….. I love you….."

After that, Junior leapt into the water, and started swimming following Neo as they went in the direction of Mothra.

That day, six residents of Monster Island had left it in more ways than one.

Only five would return.

Author's Note: Hey everyone, I'm back, and we've got a new chapter for Part 3. Now there were going to be three sections in this chapter originally, but I decided to combine two of them into The Desolation of Desghidorah, as I felt it would flow better and thus help the story. It has been busy where I am, so I once again apologize for the length of time it takes to get the chapters out. On a more light note, I finally saw The Return of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Biollante, and those two films have cemented the Heisei era as my favorite era, and I will continue working on this story, as I want to do the Heisei series justice in making a possible sequel to them. Now I want to make one thing clear, you might notice that Dagahra's name will be changed in previous chapters, as I have not spelled it correctly, so I will take the time to go back and fix his name, and that from here on out it will be spelled as "Dagahra."
