Someone messaged me and asked if this was going to be a slow burn story and I want to say no but I also want to say yes. I want this story to happen authentically, I don't want to rush things with this story. I want things to happen how normal crushes develop, but I promise you guys in the next few chapters the two of them will start to realize that what they feel for each other goes a little beyond best friends. Trust the process and please stick around because I have so much mapped out for this story. I have almost 30 chapters outlined for this story with the possibility of a sequel if this does well enough! So, stick around and enjoy the ride. Please leave me some comments and suggestions about what you'd like to see in this story. I want to incorporate some ideas from my readers into the story.

I also want to say sorry for the late upload, life was kicking my butt and things just got in the way, I promise I didn't abandon the story! I will upload more regularly now that I have everything in my life figured out. Again, I am so sorry.

Monday rolled around all too fast for the blonde. She had enjoyed her weekend with the brunette, and she really liked that she got to know Callie on a more personal level. It made her feel closer to her and that's all she wanted, was a close friendship.

The two of them spent all day Sunday just getting to know each other. Arizona learned so much about Callie, like how she wanted to go to med school to be an orthopedic surgeon, and how here full name was actually Calliope, and how she hates cats and only likes melted cheese and wouldn't eat cheese that wasn't melted or how she liked to dance around her room like a crazy person because it helps her relieve built up stress, and Arizona loved learning all of the little things about Callie and that's not to say that Callie didn't learn anything about Arizona because she did, Arizona had told Callie about her plans to be a pediatric surgeon and how she and Tim used to be extremely close growing up but once he hit college they sort of drifted and it broke her heart or how she loves sweets, anything and everything sweet and how she struggled with her body image and still does to this day, they just spent the entire day learning everything they could about one another and it was a beautiful thing.

So, when Callie had to leave Sunday night Arizona sulked around the house because as crazy as it was, she missed the brunette even though she was going to see her the next day bright and early because she was coming over for breakfast.

Arizona was currently in the process of slipping her shoes on when she heard the doorbell ring, a smile instantly appeared on her face as she quickly ran down the stairs so she could be the one to open it and see Callie and in the process she almost knocked her mother over "Would you be careful speed racer, it's just Callie, she isn't going anywhere" Barbara said as she turned away to walk back into the kitchen.

Arizona told her mom sorry before she opened the front door and before she could even say hello Callie spoke up "Is that my hoodie?" Callie asked as she stepped inside and looked at Arizona who was in fact wearing her favorite black Nike hoodie.

Arizona smiled and shrugged her shoulders "I mean, it was left on my bedroom floor, so I think that means it's mine" Arizona said as she walked into the kitchen and sat down at the kitchen table "I mean, I don't make the rules"

Callie followed the blonde and sat down next to her. The two of them were later joined by Tim and Daniel, Barbara being the last to sit down. Soon everyone was seated and eating "This is so good" Callie said "I have never had banana pancakes before"

Barbara smiled as she sipped on her coffee "Not many people have, one day when Arizona was, oh gosh, I want to say five she really had a thing for bananas, like had to have bananas with every meal and if she didn't she would throw a huge fit, so one day she mashed her banana into her pancake and raved about how good it was so I figured if you can cook blueberries into pancakes why cant you do the same with bananas and she has eaten pancakes like this ever since" Barbara finished with a smile.

Callie smiled at the blonde who looked down like she was slightly embarrassed, Callie didn't know why but she found it so cute "Hey, it was a cute story" Callie said "I can see it now, a little pigtailed Arizona running around the kitchen demanding bananas for every meal" Callie and Arizona made eye contact and for some reason this time it felt different, it felt more intimate and Callie quickly shook the feeling.

"Yeah, well, take that story to the grave" Arizona said with a smile. Arizona absolutely loved being around Callie. There was something about the brunette that she just didn't want to stay away from. Sure she has had other best friends who she loved being around but she could easily get tired of them and not want to be around them but with Callie it was different, she just knew she wanted to always be in Callie's space and that confused her because they just met, but when two people are meant to be in each other's lives you kind of just, fit and you don't question it.

"If you liked that story then you'll love the story about how Arizona was obsessed with twilight that she used to quickly burn herself with her hair straightener on her neck to make it look like she was bitten by a vampire" Tim said with a laugh "She looked so dumb"

Arizona grabbed some grapes and threw them at her brother "Really Tim, grow up" Arizona said annoyed "Just shut up because for every embarrassing story you have on me I also have one on you" Arizona said as she shook her head and scowled at her brother. She had no idea when she and Tim grew apart but it sucked because he used to be the person she could always go and vent to and he would always have her back but once he went to college he changed and just started picking on her so much that it really just ruined their relationship. Sure, brothers and sister are supposed to annoy each other and pick on one another but it went way beyond that with Tim and Arizona hated it and couldn't stand it.

Tim threw the grapes back at his sister but ten times harder. That's when Arizona got angry and threw a piece of watermelon at him, something a little bit bigger and something that was going to make a mess on his white shirt "Really Arizona" Tim said as she looked down at his shirt that was now sporting a nice light red stain.

Arizona just shook her head and went back to eating and right as she was about to get up Tim threw some scrambled eggs at Arizona that just so happened to have ketchup on them because Tim was a weirdo and liked it that way. Arizona looked down and realized that not only was she covered in scrambled eggs but there was now ketchup stains on a hoodie that wasn't even hers. Arizona had tears forming in her eyes, they weren't out of sadness but out of hurt and anger, she had no idea who the person who sat across her was anymore and that pained her but it also angered her "FUCK YOU" Arizona screamed as she quickly got up and ran to the bathroom.

"Really Timothy" Daniel said in a stern voice, he was displeased with the way his children where acting in front of a house guest "You are a better man than that, an adult, your sister is still a child" Daniel said as he shook his head in disappointment.

"A child? She's about to be eighteen, she is hardly a child" Tim said getting angry that he was the only one being reprimanded.

"And you are about to be twenty" Daniel said "Stop messing with your sister like that and apologize to our guest for showing your true colors in front of her" Daniel said as he stood up. He walked over to his wife and gave her a sweet kiss "I am off to work, I don't know what time I will be home so please don't wait up" He grabbed his stuff and looked back to the others at the table "Callie, have a great day and Timothy, apologize, now" Daniel said as he walked out of the kitchen and towards the front door.

"Yeah, whatever" Tim said as he got up and walked off. He was pissed.

"Uh, i'm going to go check on Arizona" Callie said awkwardly. She got up and made her way towards the downstairs bathroom where she could hear the water running and what sounded like a crying Arizona. Callie softly knocked on the door "Arizona, it's me" Callie said as she continued to softly knock hoping that the blonde would open up for her and after what felt like a million years the door finally opened and she was met with a crying Arizona who was trying her hardest to get the ketchup out of Callie's hoodie.

"I...I am so sorry" Arizona cried "I will buy you a new one" Arizona said as she quickly scrubbed hard at the hoodie the was on her body.

Callie saw that the blonde was in distress, she reached forward and grabbed Arizona's hands hoping to calm the girl in front of her down "Arizona, look at me" Callie said softly "It's okay, it's just a plain black hoodie, it means nothing to me" Callie said softly as she smiled at the blonde. Callie let the blondes' hands go before she reached forward to wipe the tears off of Arizona's face "I swear I'm not mad"

Arizona tried to stop crying but she was feeling so many different emotions that she couldn't stop crying. She finally let herself take a deep breath and actually look into Callie's eyes "I hate him" Arizona said as she started to cry again.

"No you don't" Callie said, she pulled Arizona out of the bathroom and into the living room where they could have some privacy "I don't know how you and Tim used to get along, I obviously wasn't around but what I do know that is it can't be easy on him" Callie said as she wiped Arizona's tears again "Being on house arrest and getting kicked off school grounds and having to live at home all the time while is friends get to go out and party and hang out, play video games, so I think the way he deals with it is by being a jerk and there is no rhyme or reason and it doesn't make it right but in his mind his actions are justified, I say, you just sit him down and talk to him, because maybe he needs his sister more than he thinks and he doesn't know how to ask for it" Callie finished with a smile.

Arizona let out a breath and really let what Callie said sink in. If she was being honest once he got kicked out school is really when the brunt of the bullying started and she hadn't realized it. She just thought he was being an ass and she hated it but listening to what Callie said made a lot of sense to her, she really hadn't thought about it from his side of things. Once everyone found out that he got kicked off campus and was being placed on house arrest no one really asked how he felt about it, they all just said they were disappointed and angry and made fun of him for it and maybe him ruining the statue was his cry for help and it just went ignored.

"Yeah, I think you might be right" Arizona said as she cleaned her face off with the tissue that Callie had just handed to her.

Callie smiled "Well, duh. I'm always right"

Arizona chuckled and shoved the brunette playfully "Come on weirdo, I want to stop for a coffee" Arizona said as she left the living room and walked back into the kitchen. She looked at her mother who was cleaning up the mess that was breakfast "I'm sorry mom" Arizona said as she helped her mom pick up some of the dishes that were still on the table "I don't know why I got so upset, I think I was angry that Callie's hoodie got ruined, speaking of which I need to go change"

Before Arizona could leave Barbara stopped her daughter "Look, you and Tim obviously have some brother, sister related things that the two of you need to work out" Barbara said as she looked into her daughters' eyes "And I can't be the one who helps you with that, but I will not tolerate the both of you acting like such children and being that awful to each other in my home"

Arizona nodded her understanding and walked upstairs to her room; she didn't realize Callie had followed her until she heard the brunette speak "I think you and Tim should have a brother and sister weekend" Callie said with a smile. She really just wanted to help the blonde.

"And do what?" Arizona asked with a small scoff "We can't do anything, he's on house arrest"

Callie shrugged "I don't know, what did the two of you like doing as kids" Callie asked as she looked into Arizona's blue eyes that she caught through the blonde's mirror.

"We liked to pig out and just watch scary movies until we physically couldn't stay awake anymore, but I highly doubt he would like to do that, he's an adult now" Arizona said as she pulled on a new hoodie and threw Callie's hoodie into the dirty clothes hamper that she had tucked away in her closet.

"You don't know that" Callie said "I say just ask him, you might be surprised by his answer" Callie said as she walked out of the room and made her way downstairs. She saw Barbara in the kitchen still cleaning up the mess that they had called breakfast "Do you need any help Barbara?" Callie asked as she leaned on the kitchen island.

Barbara turned around and smiled at the brunette "No, I'm good sweetie"

Callie smiled and gathered all of her things, just as she was about to turn around, she bumped into Arizona knocking the blonde on the ground. She laughed and helped the blonde up "Today is not your day" Callie said as she continued to laugh "I am so sorry"

Arizona tried her best to look angry at what just happened but something about Callie's laugh made the situation so much better "Yeah, I am so tempted to just stay home" Arizona said as she got up and fixed herself up a little bit.

"Don't leave me at school all alone" Callie said "Plus we have that partner quiz today and I need help because I have no idea how to do half of the stuff even though I studied all night" Callie said.

"I don't believe that for a second, you are the smartest person I know and that's saying a lot because I am pretty damn smart if I do say so myself" Arizona said as she grabbed her backpack and held the front door open waiting for the brunette to walk out before shutting it and walking to Callies car.

The drive to school was filled with laughter and terrible singing. It was an odd sensation how quickly the two of them got comfortable around each other. They genuinely liked spending time with one another and enjoyed being around each other and it was nice. Once they got to school dread kicked in. Callie felt her stomach sink, she hated school and right now the only thing that made it better was her new blonde best friend.

"Let's get this day over with" Arizona said with a smile "Also, there is a Pizza place that I want to try for dinner if you'd like to join me"

"Which place?" Callie said as the two of them walked into the school "I will tell you if it's even worth your money"

"I think it was called 'A slice of Pie'" Arizona said with a look of confusion, she couldn't really remember the name just that the pictures of pizza looked really good.

"I love that place" Callie said with a huge smile "It is the best place in the city, it's a mom-and-pop shop and it's so underrated but I like that, because that means that no many people will go to it and it keeps its charm" Callie said as the two made their way to their first class.

"Okay, well, lets go for dinner tonight" Arizona said as she sat down "If you want, then you can come over and study"

"Uhm, how about we order to go and you can come over to my place and we can study, I have to be home tonight, my mom is mad that I have been spending so much time at your place" Callie said with a soft but sad smile.

"Yeah, we can totally do that" Arizona said "And I'm sorry that I have been keeping you, I just like to spend time with you" Arizona said with a smile.

"No, it's okay. She just thinks that I like it over at your house more and she feels hurt that you two haven't really had time to get to know each other like I have with your mom" Callie finished as she took her supplies out "If that makes any sense"

Arizona smiled "Yeah, it makes complete sense"

Callie smiled and the two of them turned their attention to the front of the class.

Sorry that this one felt rushed, I felt bad for not updating in so long, so I wanted to put something out for you guys. I promise the next one is going to be better.
