Tao woke up and rubbed his eyes. There were bright, flashing lights outside. He walked over to his room window and took a peek. There was a stage set up above the Lobby and Pearl and Marina were, what it looked like was, singing. Inklings and Octolings alike were partying hard in the square, dancing to the music and holding up banners.
"[Look at them, Inklings and Octolings, hanging out together, like they're friends.]"
Judd meowed.
Tao sighed. "[You're right, Judd. I…took it too far, didn't I? I-I-I was too bent on my own wishes that I didn't realize that, maybe things were different.]"
Judd hopped onto Tao's bed and meowed again.
"[Maybe…I don't even need to be here. Maybe…they've got it all figured out.]"
"Meow."
"[…I'll just…leave.]"
"Meow?"
"[They're fine. They'll never go that far.]"
Tao made his bed and went over to his closet. He grabbed his suitcase and placed his belongings into it. Judd meowed worriedly and followed Tartar on his way out. Judd continued following Tartar until he got to the square.
"Tartar…"
Tao stopped. "[It's for the best.]" He brought up a screen and scrolled until he got to "Translator: ON". "[It will never happen, as long as I'm gone, Judd. I almost caused their extinction.]"
"Please, think this over!" To everybody else, Judd was just meowing like a normal cat.
"[I have, and I've made my decision. I must leave.]"
"Tartar, if that happens, it won't be because of you!"
Tao turned off his translator. "[Yes, it will. I'll do whatever's in my power to prevent a World War 3 from destroying these guys, like I couldn't do for HIM.]"
Author note: The next chapter will be a bit different from the rest of the story, but it's important for it so please don't get confused.
