Hey Guys! Welcome to Chapter 8!

Bakugou was walking down the sidewalk towards UA. The day that he and All Might had been training for the past 5 months. Today was the day of the UA entrance exam. For the past 5 months in between training sessions, All Might and Bakugou had been searching for Deku. The Damn Nerd must have fallen off the face of the Earth for them to not even find a curly, green hair. He can't count the number of times that he had been speaking with Detective Tsukauchi over that time. He'd spent more hours in the Detective's office than he did at home. He'd been trying to get out of the habit of calling the nerd Deku, but it was practically ingrained in his head, so he resolved to only call him Deku in his head. It had been weird calling him Izuku in the talks with Tsukauchi, but it was just another thing he had to get used to.

He reached up and shifted his backpack strap as UA came into view. He knew that he shouldn't have expectations, but he couldn't dissuade the hope that Deku would show up today. Ever since childhood that nerd had always talked about coming to UA to learn to be a hero, there is no way he would miss today. He would fight tooth and nail to be here, no one could hold him back. Bakugou continued to delude himself and hang onto that little shred of hope. He knew it wasn't rational, but the nerd had to be somewhere.

Just as he was entering through the gates, some blue haired extra hit his shoulder walking by. "Oi, Extra!" The boy's blue hair was curled like Deku's and the freckles dotting his face were achingly familiar, but when Bakugou saw his cold, red eyes he knew that it couldn't be the nerd. There was not bright smile, there was no light it was just a similar face. Bakugou took too long observing him and missed his chance to continue yelling, the boy had turned around and continued walking. As Bakugou watched him ignore a short brunette who had tried to talk to him, he was convinced that it wasn't Deku. The Deku he'd known would never have been rude, even to him who had bullied him since they were five, he had never ignored or said one demeaning word to him. This only made Bakugou feel worse for how he had treated the nerd.

Naomasa was currently reading the note in his hand, over and over. This morning it was on his desk. It had been 5-6 months since the last one had floated down to him in an alley, and he hadn't been able to do anything with so little information. Instead, he had focused on the Midoriya case that still has no leads. His coworkers recently have been pushing him to drop it, but he can't just abandon the boy who was smiling so brightly in his photo to whatever cruel fate befell him.

Turning his mind from the Midoriya case he rereads the note once more.

Deku:

Green hair.

Red eyes.

Freckles.

5'5".

UA today, may be in disguise.

Save him.

Stain.

Naomasa put his jacket on and called his friend Toshinori. The 'Deku' person he was supposed to save would supposedly be at UA today and he needed a way in. He didn't want to alert everybody to the situation because Stain was involved. If this were an easy person to save, Stain would have done it himself. Whoever 'Deku' needs saving from is obviously dangerous and could catch on at any moment.

"All Might is Here!" He heard from the other end of the line.

"Toshinori, I need to be at UA today." Naomasa was in a hurry to find this person and decided to cut straight to the chase.

"Why?"

"I just want to see the future of our hero society; I hear that there may be some promising heroes in the bunch." Naomasa knew that Toshinori didn't believe him, but they could talk about this later when they weren't on a call that could be recorded.

"Of course, our future heroes will be working with the police after their training is complete."

"Thank you."

"No problem old friend." All Might replied. "How is the Midoriya case coming along?"

"Not well. That boy disappeared off the face of the earth." Naomasa could feel his friend's guilt through the phone, he knew that All Might blamed himself for the missing boy as he did with everyone that he couldn't save. As the symbol of peace, he had decided to place the weight of the world on his shoulders without the acceptance that he can't save everyone.

"I see. Well, I will be waiting for you at UA, see you when you arrive." With that his friend hung up.

Naomasa placed the note with the old one in the secret compartment in his desk. HE wished that he could talk to Stain in person so that he could use his quirk, that way he could know if this person truly needed his help, but until then he couldn't ignore the possibility. He got in his car and began driving off to UA.

Deku looked around the room. A whole audience hall filled with young teens applying to the UA hero program, and he got seated next to 'Kacchan'. Deku remembers his past he just has no feelings attached to it, yet this boy seems to make him feel something. He can feel the pull of a bond in his chest, a strong one. He has no doubt that it is Izuku who is drawn to 'Kacchan'. Deku still can't understand his past self's attraction to this boy. So desperately wanting to be his friend that he created excuses for him. Izuku thought of them as two sides to a coin.

In the font of the hall, Present Mic began the introduction to the written exam. This part was the least interesting to Deku. Of course, he would still do the best on it, but the only way to truly show these wannabe heroes that quirkless people aren't useless would be to crush them in the practical exam.

Present Mic called for the start of the exam and Deku watched as what he estimated as at least 200 heads dropped simultaneously. He smirked and chuckled quietly. He saw 'Kacchan' turn his head to look at him afterwards, but he just mimicked the others and dropped his head to begin answering the questions.

The questions were easy. Most were moral questions on what option you would choose in which situations. As well as questions on laws and various other related topics. Deku picked answers without much thought, it was obvious which ones were right, he had memorized the laws years ago and he knew what answers they wanted for the moral inquiry. He finished in half the allotted time and was the first to turn the exam in. He was pleased when he saw 'Kacchan's' fist tighten in anger. It made him feel accomplished.

After the exam was completed, Present Mic continued to explain the practical exam. He was explaining about the robots and the point system, when a student shot out of his seat with his arm raised.

"Excuse me sir, but there is a fourth bot that you haven't mentioned yet." The boy's hair was dark blue, and his arm moved in time with the syllables he was speaking. After he finished stating his observation, he adjusted his glasses.

Deku looked at the boy. Why was Ingenium's brother taking the general exam instead of using recommendations? Ingenium had been one of the targets that Stain had him research, he would recognize him and his family anywhere. Deku saw that 'Kacchan' had looked over to him and realized that he had been muttering. It was a habit that he just couldn't seem to break.

Present Mic decided to acknowledge the boy's concern. "I was just about to get there, little listener. The fourth bot is a zero pointer. There isn't really a point in mentioning it and it is best to just ignore it if you come across it in the test as there is nothing to gain from it."

This answer intrigued Deku. There was something special about that robot. This school trained their future hero society, there was no way that they would have a robot worth nothing for no reason.

'Kacchan' was now fully turned to him. Damn, he must've been muttering again. He only stared coldly back at 'Kacchan' until the angered teen turned back to listening to the lecture. If Deku had done it at any other time, there was no doubt that 'Kacchan' would have yelled at him; it was the teen's personality. He wasn't angry he was just loud and more aggressive than average.

Present Mic dismissed them and told them to go to their assigned cities which were listed on the paper in front of them. Deku was in city B while 'Kacchan' as he could see was in city A. They exited the hall, and he could feel the red eyes following his back, but he wouldn't acknowledge it. Acknowledgement might drag hi into a conversation and that was not the purpose that brought him here today.

Deku walked onto the bus to city B and felt around on his belt to make sure that he had his gear. The point of today and participating was to prove that quirkless people weren't useless, so he only brought his grappling hook and his Bo Staff, the rest would be to showcase his skill to the maximum ability so that UA would truly know what the discrimination costs them.

Bakugou watched the bus for city B drive off with the blue haired, red eyed, extra that had sat next to him. The extra had been muttering during the whole explanation if the exam. The similarities of that boy to the nerd kept giving Bakugou pause. He had wanted to yell and tell the extra to stop his annoyingness, but it was exactly what he would have done to Deku, and he was trying to not be that bully anymore.

Turning back around he followed the remaining crowd as they walked to city A that was a close distance from the audience hall. Around him he saw an extra with spiky red hair and another with a tail. Bakugou pushed his way to the front of the crowd so none of the extras could get in his way. His training with All Might had prepared him for this moment and he was not going to let it go to waste.

All Might was in the observation room with Nezu and some of the UA staff. Naomasa was here as well after arriving while the students were being informed about the exam. He'd taken All Might into an empty conference room and told him the details about the individual he was looking for, but he provided no information on why this person was on his radar. He also did not state where the information came from.

While he was ignorant of the situation, All Might trusted his friend and agreed to help keep an eye out. The only issue is that this person was likely to be disguised. All Might looked at the screens showing the feeds from cameras of the entrance to the cities. The students were all crowded together waiting for the gates to open. Some of them had green hair but they didn't match the rest of the description, and too many of them had red eyes due to their quirks and genetics. It would have been easier if he were given a quirk by which to identify the individual, but he had to work with the information provided.

All Might turned to look at Naomasa again and saw Aizawa staring him down. Aizawa wasn't a pro for nothing, he obviously knew that there was something more to Naomasa's presence than just to watch the future heroes. But just like with All Might, Naomasa had also earned Aizawa's trust after working together for so long. All Might would be questioned later, and Naomasa will most likely also be a part of this scrutiny, but Aizawa would wait until after the exams, like the others gathered in the room he was here to observe the student's potential.

All Might shook his nerves and turned to seriously watch the students. He was still looking for a successor since Young Bakugou had turned him down. He had promised Young Bakugou that he would take Young Midoriya into consideration, but Young Midoriya had yet to be found and time was still an important factor. In this group of potential heroes may be the next symbol of peace. He had to keep an eye out.

Nezu hit the button for the buzzer; the entrance exam had begun.
