Lily, the Chosen Undead turned Ashen One, chose to give the Firekeeper the First Flame. Not to usher in the Dark, but to give the Flame a chance to grow and become powerful once more. So that it may return and burn the Dark away. As the world was consumed by the Darkness, Lily found herself in a world not her own. Along with the man she idolizes, Lord Gwyn.

8. Update

Hey everyone! I know I haven't posted a new update yet. So, I'm putting it here and now. Essentially, what I'm saying is simple:

This story is going on Hiatus.

Note: I said HIATUS. I'm not done with this story. Far from it. I have a lot of ideas for it.

However, I also have a LOT of other things I'm writing for/about. And that does effect my ability to sit down and write something, as I'm not sure what I should be focusing on. Cause I've found that when I try to write multiple updates at once, my quality suffers.

So, I'm going to be putting this fanfic on hold at least until I finish A Hunter's New Home. Then I'll come back to this.

So, yeah. Thanks to you all for sticking around as long as you have. Sorry if this disappoints anyone, but I honestly think it's best for now.

Loken: Yeah, it's apart of my goal for this story. I'm trying to write a story where Gwyn is an actual character that has been effected by his experiences, and thus wishes to be better. Rather than just write him as a Tyrant or Crazy Person like everyone else has done.

Savior16: First, thanks for the compliment. While I'm not sure if the way I'm writing him is how Gwyn was meant to be portrayed, I do think that this portrayal is better than others. Second, I'm still debating over whether or not I'll actually include other characters from the Dark Souls series. I have an idea, but I'm not 100% sure on it.

Varva: Yep. I understand why most Kuroinu Fics avoid it. Cause, you know, I don't think any woman would turn out like that after being treated so poorly. But it's something that happened in the source material, and I honestly have an idea for it here.

WaqueKoala: She chose the ending where she summoned the Firekeeper and let her keep the Flame while the Dark grew stronger. With the ultimate goal being to hide the First Flame until it was strong enough to beat back the Dark again. Lily hated the Dark and the Abyss, even if it wasn't necessarily "Evil", but didn't think that keeping the Age Of Fire going would be good either. So, she went this path.
