A man was running as fast as he possibly could from an unseen attacker. He quickly turned a corner and saw a shoot that he was quick to dive down before landing in a dumpster. The man then stood up and took a moment to breath before a large needle flew through top of his head before the shadow of a young woman entered a window above.

(In the X-Bunker the next morning)

"So, did you tell Sam?" Lincoln asked while Luna was practicing with her powers, specifically shooting small cold blasts at sets of sologram targets.

"About me or about you?" Luna asked, gaining a shrug from Lincoln that clearly showed he meant both. "I don't want her to worry to have got a full lick on this and I'm not gonna burn you by letting your secret out." Luna said as Lincoln smiled.

"That's good to hear." Lincoln said before he noticed something on the monitor. "Someone's accessed the elevator using the Batfamily code." He noted.

"Is it... him?" Luna asked.

"No, he would make sure that he wouldn't set off the alarms. He likes to surprise people." Lincoln explained before the elevator opened to reveal a young asian girl. "Luna Loud, allow me to introduce my sister, Cassandra Cain." He said before walking over to hug his adopted sister. "So, Cass. What brings you my city?"

"This." Cassandra said before she walked over to the computer and brought up a report on the previous night's killing.

"Tactics looking like the League of Shadows and the victim was a whistle blower on the Dollmaker." Lincoln said, his eyes widening on the implications.

"Uh. Want to fill the new girl in on what's going on?" Luna asked, Lincoln looking to Cassandra for permission before gaining a nod before he brought up a file.

"David Cain. One of the most dangerous assassins in the world... and Cassandra's birth father." Lincoln said, sending a sympathetic look to Cassandra. "Years ago, he went to the League of Shadows with a plan to breed the next generation of assassins through breeding with the best of the organization. many women of whom had children Cain himself. However when many of the kids didn't meet expectations as early as he wanted, they were cast aside and he focused his training on only one of his children, Cassandra until she thankfully escaped and ended up in the care of Batman. Nowadays, his new plan for creating the ultimate assassin has been to work with the Dollmaker to create patchwork people for that goal." He finished.

"Wait. If Cain is Cassandra's father, doesn't that run the risk of him finding out who the rest of the Batfamily are?" Luna asked.

"Point of fact, many of the Shadows know who we are. But don't do anything against us for a few reasons. Be it respect, familial ties, or not wanting to get in the crossfire too many members of the community who we're connected to." Lincoln said to ease his biological sister's fears before turning back to the adopted one. "Why don't you head to my place with Luna? You look like you haven't slept in a while.

"Don't... need it." Cassandra argued before getting a stern look from the white haired crime fighter. "Fine." She said before she left with Luna as Lincoln began to type in to the X-Computer.

"Contact bases Batcave, Belfry, Roost, Twinfire, Alert Station, and Luster. Priority One alert. " Lincoln said before different parts of the screen were taken up by a black haired man in his forties, a black haired man with a white streak in his hair helmet, a younger man with black hair, a red haired woman in a wheelchair, a black haired girl in a next to a blond girl, and a blonde girl clad in pink and white.

"Linky, what's wrong?" The pink clad girl, Kitten AKA Candlelight asked before Lincoln filled the rest of the group about the current events.

"What do you need us to do?" The black haired girl, Wendy Harris AKA Proxy asked.

"Babs, you, Kitten, and Wendy look through every police scanner from here to to Star City. Jason, see if you can use the computers on the Twinfire to get some info for me." Lincoln instructed.

"Wait. Since when am I on tech support?" The man with the white streak asked.

"Since the Tameranian royal family gave you a spaceship with tech that rivals a many intelligence agencies in the world." Lincoln fired back with a smirk. "Anyway, Dick, I need you to call up Rose and Joseph. Have them see if Slade knows anything about Cain's movements. Bruce, same with Damian and Talia. Also call up Argus for any info they have." He said.

"Understood. In the meantime, I have an old friend who happens to work in Great Lakes. She might be of some help to you." Bruce instructed, gaining a nod from Lincoln before everyone cut coms and got to work on their respective tasks.

Later as the sun was setting over Great lakes, an Asian woman in a red jacket was sitting in her office and the GLPD before suddenly feeling a slight breeze.

"I had a feeling you'd eventually come here." The woman said as Red X stepped out of the shadows.

"A pleasure to meet you, Captain Yin. Batman speaks very highly of you." Red X said before shaking the woman's hands.

"So you are one of them. Last Robin, I'm guessing." Yin said, while shaking Red X's hand. "How can I help? She asked.

"There was a murder last night involving a senbon needle. I need access to the morgue to examine the body." Red X said, causing Yin to fold her arms.

"And telling me this instead of just going in is to make sure that you're on good terms with my people." Yin said with a smirk. "The coroner just went home for the night. I'm sure you can get in." She said, gaining a nod from Red X.

"Thank you, Captain." Red X said before leaving the room.

Once down in the morgue, Red X began to look over the body with the scanners in his helmet.

'Okay, particulates found in the struggle should narrow down the... what the.' X thought as he looked at a hand print. 'The sick son of a bitch actually did it.' He thought as his teeth clenched and his fist tightened. He then quickly flung his cape as he turned to walk away.

(At Lincoln's loft)

Casandra was sitting down at the table before Luna came up to her and placed a bowl of tomato soup.

"Thank you." Casandra said before sipping a spoonful.

"Don't mention it." Luna said, only realizing how thoughtless the phrase was after it left her mouth before she began to stutter in an attempt to backtrack.

"It's... okay. " Cassandra said before she took notice that Lincoln had returned. "Well?" She asked.

"The computer's narrowing down the locations. Finish eating and we'll head out." Lincoln said while preparing a protein shake. Just then, his phone rang. "It's Jason. I gotta take this." He said before leaving the room. "What'd you find?" He asked.

"Well. You were right. Cain's children are off every grid that we know of." Jason said, gaining a sigh from Lincoln.

"And when I checked the prints on the senbon, they matched three different sets." Lincoln confirmed.

"Shit. Well I know better than to offer to come down there while I'm still working a case. Just be careful and look after Cas, okay?" Jason urged.

"I will. Thank's Jason." Lincoln said before hanging up and going to run diagnostics on his gear.

Soon enough, Lincoln walked in to his living room wearing all but his mask, wig, and helmet.

"Alright, Cas. I'll be waiting on the roof when you're ready." Lincoln said as Luna slapped on to her knees and got up.

"Well. That's my cue to head out." Luna said before walking over to hug Lincoln. "Be careful out there." She said before walking out. Lincoln then went to a hidden door and left Casandra to pull out a case she had brought to reveal a thick white Bat symbol.

Several minutes later, Red X was perched on the roof as he was approached by a girl clad in a suit that was all black with exception to the white lens on her mask, her white utility belt, and, of coarse, the white Bat on her chest.

"Hope you don't have trouble keeping up with me in a new city." Red X said, clearly smirk beneath his helmet.

"Don't fall... behind." Batgirl said before both of them pulled out their grapnel guns and began to make their way through the skyline of Great Lakes.

After a short time of swinging and gliding, the two members of the Bat Family arrived a building which had been scheduled for demolition. As such, Red X had already been scouting escape routs from the moment they caught sight of the area.

"Be careful. We're not dealing with average fight this time." Red X said, gaining a nod from Batgirl before the two began searching through the levels of the building.

Eventually the two of them arrived in an empty zone of the building. Suddenly, smoke bombs went off all around them, feeling something behind her, Batgirl turned to block against a rapid flurry of punches. Red X jumped back from area and pulled out two of his X shurriken before waiting for the smoke to clear. Once he had the shot, he throw his weapons to create an electric path which the attacker jumped to avoid. He then through a cryo grenade to trip the attacker up before pulling out his staff and joining in on a counter assault. The attacker, while momentarily slipped up, was able regain footing and jump kick Red X and Batgirl in their chests.

Being the first to recover, Batgirl stood to face the attacker one more, only to freeze at the clear site of the attacker, her jaw not matching the upper half of her head and. The attacker then tried to throw a set of shurriken at the dumbstruck Batgirl, Red X running in to block them with his cape only for them to explode.

As the two landed, Red X just barely had a chance to press on to helmet upon seeing the attacker pulling a small device and jumping. The floors beneath Red X and Batgirl only for a purple blur with green lightning to move them a rooftop over.

"Are you two alright?" Fleet asked them as Red X got to his feet.

"We'll live. Thanks for coming." Red X said while holding on to his ribs before looking to Batgirl. "Cas." He whispered before kneeling next to his silent sister.

Some time later, Lincoln was back in his loft, having finished telling Luna what had happened. Just then, Fleet speeded in before removing her cowl.

"How is she?" Lincoln asked before tossing Emera a shake that was specifically made for speedsters.

"She's fine. I dropped her off at Gotham Cathedral. Dr Tompkins is gonna take her home." Emeria said.

"I should have called you right away. We might have been able to catch her. Now both she and Cain are in the wind."

"Don't worry about it. We'll get him. He can't stay hidden forever." Emera said, Lincoln feeling a small deal of weight lifted at the assurance of his friend.

"Teach me how to fight." Luna said, the two young heroes looking to her. "I can't just stand by after everything you've told me. I wanna be able to help if you guys ever need me." She said, Lincoln smirking slightly.

"Luna. That's first peace of good news I've heard tonight." Lincoln said as he put his hand on Luna's shoulder.
