Hey everyone, it's me Hide Shinyama.

I'm really, really sorry for the wait of seven weeks. The new semester has been very busy for me, now that classes are increasingly in person, instead of online. Getting into the routine was a tough one for me.

Of course, there are good things that come from being on campus, but that's another issue.

Anyway…

The continuation of the Hulk's rampage in Tokyo is here.

How will Issei and his friends deal with it? What will happen when Issei, Matsuda and Motohama meet the Occult Research Club?

Chapter 53 – Rampage! Part 2

13th of November, Friday, 4:00 pm – somewhere on the streets in Akihabara, Tokyo

"Hah… hah… hah…" Motohama was panting heavily, even as he ran for dear life.

The Hulk was not letting up, no matter how fast he ran. The Hulk was a total beast, rampaging and destroying cars, shops and buildings in his rage. Although all the beforementioned obstacles slowed the Hulk down, it only did so by a little. Nothing could stop it.

"I need to shake this guy off or I'm dead!" Motohama said to himself.

While passing by, Motohama saw a glass door leading to the nearest supermarket. His face brightened up instantly as he had an idea.

"That's it! I can go through there and shake him off!" Motohama said to himself.

He turned towards the entrance and was about to rush in. But at that moment, within a timeframe of two seconds, something made him change his mind.

Through the glassy door, Motohama could see masses of people that had crowded themselves inside the supermarket. They hid themselves to avoid the falling debris in the wake of the Hulk's destruction. But what stood out the most to Motohama was the reaction of the people inside.

The people were frighted, panicked, horrified and they were backing away and looking for a way to the back of the supermarket. Motohama could tell that they were about to cause a stampede because of him.

It was then that something in Motohama's clicked.

'I can't do that…' he thought as he shook his head.

Thus, he disregarded his own safety and turn away from the restaurant with the Hulk still in hot pursuit.

'…I won't be saved if I did that. Worse, I could never live with the guilt for the rest of my life,' Motohama reasoned. 'It would be better if the Hulk got me here and now…"

The Hulk was just about to catch him. He was just a few feet from him and was about to grab Motohama with his arm when everything went into slow-motion.

Motohama saw the Hulk's arm swing down to grab him.

"Huh?"

Suddenly, for whatever reason, Motohama remembered something. They were words spoken nearly two months ago, and yet it felt like an eternity since then. They were words that were said by Monika shortly before leaving the Sakabasu Detention Facility.

"Now, you must be confused, as to why this dark energy acts like glue and not gas form-like like you know earlier. Well, it's because the glue-like substance is it at its most basic form. You can only achieve its gas form by intensive heat," Monika's words echoed in his mind.

"What?" Motohama voiced in surprise when a pair of buttons appeared along the other buttons on the sides of his gloves.

Motohama knew what he had to do now.

He pressed the buttons. The glue gloves glowed with radiant heat.

And then Motohama was suddenly enveloped in a thick black fog, making him disappear out of sight.

"HMM!" the Hulk suddenly flinched at the sudden appearance of the black smoke, emanating from Motohama's gloves.

Normally, such a thing would not have fazed the Hulk, but the energy of the dark mist was powerful enough to do that.

It took a few seconds for the Hulk to find his bearings, before recovering. When he looked around, he saw that Motohama was gone.

The Hulk roared angrily and looked around again.

"Grrr…" the Hulk growled as he searched for him wearily.

When he saw that Motohama was truly gone, he bounced away.

Motohama, who had hidden himself behind a trash container in a nearby alley, poked his head out cautiously. Then, he sighed in relief.

"Thank you, Monika-sensei. Your gifts really saved me…" Motohama thanked the fourth wall breaking young woman for her help.

Motohama leaned against the wall and slid down to the floor, not caring that the place was dirty.

Motohama proceeded to call Issei with his wristwatch.

"Yeah?" Issei answered.

"I managed to shake him off… I'm hiding out in an alley," Motohama explained his situation.

"Oh, thank goodness," Issei sighed in relief. "What about the Hulk?"

"He jumped towards someplace else. I don't know where he went. But he should still be in the city," Motohama explained.

"I see… And… are you okay?" Issei asked Motohama with concern.

"I'm fine," Motohama assured Issei. "You should worry more about finding that brute and taking him down."

"Roger that. I'll stay in touch," Issei answered, and the call ended.

"I hope you beat that thing, Issei. I wish you luck…" Motohama said, as he looked up into the sky.

13th of November, Friday, 4:04 pm – with Issei, Tokyo

Everybody was running away from the chaos and destruction that the Hulk left in his wake.

Issei, stood behind a pole, so as not to be swept away by the crowd.

"Ddraig, do you sense him?" Issei asked Ddraig.

[I sense him over that way. He's a good distance in that direction] Ddraig said, pointing Issei away from Akihabara towards another district.

"I'll get going," Issei said and was about to run in that direction.

Suddenly, Ddraig stopped him.

[Stop, Partner!] Ddraig said to Issei with urgency.

"Huh?" Issei voiced out in surprise at the sudden warning.

[Go and hide! I sense another presence. It's supernatural and might be dangerous!] Ddraig warned him.

"Another…" Issei's voice leaked out, as he tried to process the information he just heard.

However, his instincts kicked in and he promptly retreated and hid behind a nearby postbox.

Issei waited, as the multitude fled past him. Just what did Ddraig sense out here?

It was then, that Issei noticed a certain group of people amidst the crowd running in the opposite direction from where the crowd was heading. The group, made up of four people, were heading towards the danger. But what stood out to him was the crimson red hair from what seemed to be the leader of the group of daredevils.

"Wait… that hair… It seems… so familiar to me…" Issei said to himself, as he stared at the red-haired girl unnoticed.

"I sense it. It's this way," said Koneko, as she pointed towards where Issei was planning to go.

"Then, let's hurry," Rias ordered her peerage and the group hurried on.

At that moment, Issei recognized her.

"Rias Gremory!" Issei voiced in surprise, as he watched her pass by. "And isn't that Akeno Himejima right beside her? And is that… Yuuto Kiba?"

Issei was quick to recognize the top two hottest girls at Kuoh Academy and the most popular boy, too. He did not recognize the short girl with them, but he was certain that he may have seen her somewhere on campus.

[Devils, tch!] Ddraig clicked his tongue. [This situation has become quite complicated. As though there wasn't enough to deal with.]

"But where are they going?" Issei wondered, as the fleeing crowd began to thin out.

[They obviously are going after the Hulk. Partner, I suggest we lay low for now] Ddraig said to Issei.

"Huh?" Issei voiced in surprise.

[Those Devils… something tells me that if you are discovered by them, things will not go well. And something also tells me that when that happens, Tiamat might show up eventually… Brrrr…] Ddraig shuddered at the thought of the Blue Dragon King.

"I guess that makes sense," Issei conceded, as he came out from behind the postbox.

Although Issei did not like the thought of standing by when danger and destruction was all around, he knew that he also had to consider his own safety.

Not just that, but Issei realized that if they found out about him, then the safety of Matsuda, Motohama and all those around him would be at risk as well.

Issei had to decide. Was he going to be a hero and go to pursue the Hulk anyway? Or was he supposed to be cautious and run away?

Issei decided to choose the third option.

Issei promptly called Matsuda on his wristwatch.

13th of November, Friday, 4:08 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

Matsuda and Ryuga were walking through the streets, which have now been abandoned by the masses. Police cars were rushing by in big numbers towards wherever the source of the problem was.

The two boys were marveling at how things have turned upside down when Matsuda received a call and took it.

"Hello?" Matsuda answered the call.

"Matsuda! Thank goodness, you're calling!" Issei replied on the other end of the line.

"Issei, what's going on?" Matsuda demanded. "All hell is loose on the streets."

"It's the Hulk! We found the Hulk!" Issei answered.

"What!?" Matsuda cried out in surprise, making Ryuga flinch. "You found it? How?"

"Well, it was Motohama who found him. Don't ask me how or why, but he found the Hulk when he was transforming. Unfortunately, he went on rampage and that's why we are in this mess. He chased Motohama for a while, but he managed to escape," Issei summarized.

"And Motohama? How is he?" Matsuda asked concerned.

"He's fine," Issei replied. "I don't know where he is, but he called me and assured me he was fine."

"That's good to know," Matsuda sighed out in relief. "And where are you?"

"I'm in pursuit… sort of…" Issei answered vaguely.

"What do you mean 'sort of'?" Matsuda questioned him.

Issei felt like he was losing time. He needed things to get done fast or else the Hulk might cause more destruction with each second. Still, he took a deep breath and explained.

"I was on the way to chase to the Hulk until Ddraig suddenly stopped me and told me to hide. I did. And then, I saw some familiar faces," Issei explained.

"Who?" Matsuda wondered.

"Rias Gremory and members of the Occult Research Club," Issei answered.

"Wait them!?" Matsuda voiced out surprised. "Aren't they the Devils in our school?"

"Yup," Issei answered with a nod. "Which is why I'm laying low, so they don't find me. Hence, I'm asking you to send Phoebe out and spy out what is happening. Connect me with Phoebe, too. Will you?"

"But wait! What about the Hulk?" Matsuda quickly asked.

"That's the thing. I think Rias and the others are trying to fight the Hulk. My plan is to watch them and see how things turn out," Issei explained his plan.

"That sounds… pretty cowardly coming from you," Matsuda remarked hesitantly, but bluntly. "I thought you were all about saving people."

Issei felt a pang of guilt upon hearing this remark.

Matsuda was right. It was cowardly and Issei felt ashamed of himself.

However, he was resolved. Issei could not afford to be caught by the Devils, nor could he risk having his friends being put in danger because of him.

"Issei?" Matsuda called out to him after a moment of silence.

"I… I know what I'm doing. It's for the best," Issei said, as he swallowed his guilt within him. "You should get ready."

"I guess… I think I can find out where the Hulk is. I'll be ready in a moment," Matsuda answered Issei. "Oh, and Ryuga is here with me, by the way."

"He is?" Issei asked in surprise.

"Yeah, I am," Ryuga replied to Issei on the other end of the line. "Go kick that monster's rear for me, will you?"

"You got it!" Issei replied with a chuckle.

Matsuda had a big smile at the enthusiasm that had occurred at that moment until he remembered about his encounter with Issei making out with a woman.

"Hey, wait! Who was that…?" Matsuda wanted to talk to his friend about it. But Issei ended the call, and the line was dead.

"Dang it!" Matsuda cursed to himself. "I was about to ask him something."

"Well, too late, I guess," Ryuga shrugged his shoulders.

Matsuda groaned loudly and got to work. He activated his wristwatch and summoned the black miniature helicopter with its controls.

"Let's get to work, Phoebe," Matsuda said to the A. I.

{Roger, captain. Heading out} Phoebe's voice said monotonously and flew into the air.

As Matsuda and Ryuga watched the Chopping Board Type 2 ascend to the sky, Matsuda could not help but say this.

"You better stay alive, Issei. I need to know who that woman was you were making out with…" Matsuda grumbled to himself.

Ryuga had nothing to say to that. He just shook his head.

13th of November, Friday, 4:13 pm – Meanwhile with the Hulk

"Hulk… crush you!" the Hulk roared and leaped into the air.

"WATCH OUT!"

"WAAAHHH!"

The two police officers got out of the car and made it out in the nick of time for the Hulk had crushed the car with one stomp.

[CRUSH!]

The other officers watched with dread as the Hulk jumped off the car unharmed.

"FIRE!" a police officer ordered his men.

[BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!]

The police officers shot with everything they got and yet the bullets bounced off the Hulk unharmed.

"Grrrrr…" the Hulk growled with anger and rushed towards the police officers.

"INCOMING!" one of the police officers shouted in fright, ready to dodge.

But the Hulk was faster.

[WHAP!]

"ARGH!" "ACK!" "KEUK!"

The police officers were swapped away like flies and landed on the asphalt unconsciously.

"This thing…"

"What the hell…"

Some of the police officers whispered in fear and horror, as they slowly retreated in fear.

"HULK SMASH!" the Hulk quickly slammed his fists on the ground and created a shockwave, which blew all the officers away along with cars and debris.

[BOOM!]

"GUAK!" "URK!" "KEUK!"

All of them were sent flying. They landed on the ground unconscious with some of them bleeding.

Some of the nearby cars were flipped over, too. Leaving some of the police officers inside wounded and moaning from pain.

"Uhh…"

The Hulk stomped right over to one of the police cars much to the dread of the conscious, but bleeding police officer inside.

"No… No! Stay away from me!" the poor policeman cried out, as he tried to get away.

But it was too late for the Hulk had just arrived in front of the toppled car. He raised his foot, ready to crush the poor man flat with the vehicle.

Then all the sudden…

[BAM!]

"UGH!"

The Hulk was knocked back by a sudden red blast, which hit him from the side.

He looked around in anger when he spotted the culprit.

"My, my… You're a tough one, aren't you?" said Rias Gremory, as she and her peerage got into battle position.

"How fun! I wonder how much pain you can take… Ufufufu…" Akeno giggled, as she relished the thought at causing the Hulk pain.

"Be careful, Buchou. This one seems strong. Sword Birth!" Yuuto warned them both before summoning a red sword engulfed in flames.

"Big and loud, too. Let's see who is strongest," Koneko said monotonously, as she took a martial arts stance.

"You know the plan. Yuuto, rescue the police officers. Akeno, Koneko, back me up," Rias instructed them.

"""Yes, Buchou,""" all three of them replied.

13th of November, Friday, 4:15 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"I found him!" Matsuda announced proudly, as he and Ryuga had huddled away from prying eyes in an alleyway.

"So, that's him, huh?" Ryuga remarked with some astonishment. "That guy is huge!"

"And those four… That's the Occult Research Club from Kuoh Academy!" Matsuda instantly recognized the four Devils. "Oh, my… I forgot how sexy Rias-senpai and Akeno-senpai looked…"

Ryuga ignored that remark and focused fully on the fight. He wondered just what this creature known as the Hulk was capable of.

13th of November, Friday, 4:16 pm – Meanwhile with the Devils of Kuoh

The Hulk growled in rage and started sprinting towards them.

"It's coming!" Yuuto called out and swung his sword, sending a wave of flames towards the Hulk, before using his speed to quickly rescue the unconscious policemen.

[WHOOSH!]

The Hulk flinched and covered his body with his arms for a second, but still he kept on running towards them.

"Ara, ara… Pretty good. Now, take this!" Akeno raised her arms towards the Hulk and lightning bolts came out in great power.

"HRK!" the Hulk finally staggered and stopped for a moment because of the lightning coursing through his body.

Koneko wordlessly rushed at the weakened Hulk and knocked him to the ground with a tackle.

The Hulk fell to the ground with a thud. He lay there dazed for a second, surprised at Koneko's strength, despite her small build. Before he could get up and fight her off, Rias had created a huge ball of red energy above her.

"Farewell, green monster!" Rias called out, as she finished charging her Power of Destruction and threw it at the Hulk.

"GROAAAAAHHHH!" the Hulk roared in pain, as he was engulfed by the red destructive energy of the Bael family.

[BOOOOOOOM!] A large explosion followed by a large cloud of dust filled the area.

13th of November, Friday, 4:17 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"I can't see anything…" Ryuga stated.

"It's just dust. It will go away," Matsuda assured Ryuga.

"Yeah, I guess. I think the fight is done, too, huh?" Ryuga speculated.

Matsuda shook his head.

"I'm afraid not," Matsuda answered, much to Ryuga's surprise.

"Why not?" Ryuga asked incredulously. "That green guy got directly hit by those powerful attacks!"

Ryuga stated out the obvious with absolute certainty.

"You've never seen the Hulk in action before like we have," Matsuda replied with a serious look on his face. "That guy… won't go down so easily…"

13th of November, Friday, 4:16 pm – Meanwhile with the Devils of Kuoh

The Devils of Kuoh Academy were coughing because of the large amount of dust in the air. After a few seconds of coughing, Yuuto spoke up, having now finished taking care of the police officers.

"Is it over?" Yuuto asked, as he looked at where the Hulk was seen last.

The dust had not settled, so nobody could see anything through the thick dust cloud.

But then…

"HULK SMASH!"

[BOOM!]

Out of nowhere, the Hulk had clapped his hands together, creating a huge shockwave, making all the devils, overturned police cars and dust blow away like leaves in the wind.

"KYAH!" "ARA!" "Buchou!" "Hnnn!"

The four Devils were knocked back and bounced a few times on the asphalt before quickly getting up.

They had some scrapes on their arms and legs and their clothes may have gotten a bit dirty, but they were fine otherwise.

"Is everyone okay?" Rias asked her teammates.

"I'm fine," Yuuto answered, as he looked around just in time to see…

"Koneko, move!" Yuuto cried out, causing Koneko to see the Hulk run at her.

To everybody's surprise, the Hulk suffered some burns, but still looked completely fine even after tanking bolts of lightning. In fact, his injuries seemed to be healing quickly.

"HULK CRUSH TINY GIRL!" the Hulk raged, as he attacked her.

Koneko stood still where she was and had advanced forward, ready to meet the Hulk head-on.

[BAM!]

The Hulk lashed out with a kick. But Koneko ducked under the kick, rolled underneath his legs and used her body to trip the Hulk.

"OOF!" the Hulk landed on his face at the unexpected move.

Before the Hulk could recover…

"Got you," Koneko said, as she pinned the Hulk down by putting a knee on his back and grabbing his left arm.

The Hulk struggled and tried to push himself off the ground with remaining arm, but Koneko was stronger than he expected. He could not break free.

13th of November, Friday, 4:17 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"How on earth did that little girl manage to pin her down like that?" Matsuda wondered with astonishment at Koneko's strength.

"Not sure how she did that," Ryuga shrugged. "But one thing is for sure. She knows martial arts. She's a brawler. And now comes the finishing move."

13th of November, Friday, 4:17 pm – Meanwhile with Akeno, Yuuto, Koneko and Rias

That was when Rias, Akeno and Yuuto came and stood over the downed Hulk.

"Let's finish him for good this time!" Rias declared and readied another powerful magical attack.

"More pain. More gain. Ufufufu…" Akeno joked, as she made a sweet smile and readied another lightning attack.

"Sword Birth – Lightning Sword!" Yuuto called out, as he changed his fire sword with a lightning-based one.

Together, they launched their attacks. Rias shot out her Power of Destruction attack. Akeno sent her Demonic lightning attacks. Both attacks hit the Hulk, making him cry out in pain.

"This is it!" Yuuto said and sank his sword into the Hulk's back with a finishing move.

It was over… or so they thought.

"What…?" Yuuto voiced in shock at what he was seeing.

His sword did not go through the Hulk's skin. Rather, the Hulk's skin seemed to absorb the sword stuck inside it like rubber.

In other words, Yuuto did not finish off the Hulk.

What's even worse was the fact, that the Hulk had not given up the fight. He may have been blacked and burned in the face from Rias' and Akeno's attacks, but the damage caused to his body was healing.

"GRRRRRRR…" the Hulk growled angrily.

13th of November, Friday, 4:17 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"What is that thing!?" Ryuga asked Matsuda in horror. "How on earth can that thing even take on a sword like that… and all those magical attacks… and still be fine!?"

Ryuga pointed at the controller screen through which they were seeing everything.

"I…" Matsuda tried to answer, but words failed him for he did not know where to begin.

"You… owe me a detailed explanation about this guy," Ryuga said to Matsuda and proceeded to continue watching.

Explanations could wait. Watching this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

13th of November, Friday, 4:18 pm – Meanwhile with Akeno, Yuuto, Koneko and Rias

Koneko tried to keep the Hulk down, but she was finding it more difficult to keep him down. For whatever reason, it seemed like the Hulk was only gaining in strength.

"Let's try it again!" Rias said to Akeno.

Akeno wordlessly agreed and the two of them were ready to attack once more.

That was when the Hulk took a hold of the asphalt with his free right arm. He crushed the fistful of asphalt he got in his hand and threw the gravel backwards at Koneko.

"Ah!" Koneko gasped in surprise, as she was hit hard in the face by the debris.

She flinched and backed off from the Hulk, letting go off his left arm.

That was all the Hulk needed. The Hulk quickly got up on one knee and spun around grabbed Koneko's shirt with his own right arm.

"Koneko!" Yuuto cried out in a panic, as he switched his sword with a heavy two-handed sword known as the Destruction Sword.

Koneko tried to break free, but the Hulk was too strong. She winced in discomfort, as the Hulk threatened to rip her shirt off with his hand.

"Why you…!" Rias was indignant and quickly shot at the Hulk with another magical shot.

Since it was not fully charged, it was weaker than before. The Hulk clearly felt pain, but this time it felt more like a slight sting compared to before.

The Hulk also anticipated Yuuto's attack and decided to take it head-on.

Yuuto's two-handed sword hit the Hulk's skin, but it, too, bounced off uselessly.

"Impossible…" Yuuto whispered, not believing that his strongest sword did nothing against the Hulk.

Akeno was about fire her lightning at the Hulk, yet the Hulk was faster.

With one sudden move, the Hulk picked up Koneko and threw her forward.

"ACK!" Akeno cried out, as she was smacked in the face with Koneko's forehead.

Akeno was sent flying backward with Koneko and landed on the asphalt unconscious. Her nose was bleeding from the impact.

13th of November, Friday, 4:19 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"Ow… that's got to hurt…" Matsuda winced at the sight of Akeno getting Koneko thrown into her face.

"Totally," Ryuga nodded. "But the worst part is that green guy is clearly winning the fight."

13th of November, Friday, 4:20 pm – Meanwhile with Yuuto, Koneko and Rias

Yuuto was about to ponder his next move when the Hulk lashed out and punched him in the face. He was sent flying a great distance, before crashing into a police car. He, too, was knocked out from the fight.

13th of November, Friday, 4:20 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"Again, ouch…" Matsuda winced from the sight.

At the same time, he disliked Yuuto Kiba and his ability to steal girl's attention like the pretty boy he was. Hence, he did not feel too bad for him.

"The green guy is winning, all right," Ryuga noted. "It's only down to two."

13th of November, Friday, 4:21 pm – Meanwhile with the Koneko and Rias

Rias was grimacing and took to the air, hoping to attack the Hulk from out of his reach.

Rias changed her tactics and was firing a barrage of orbs at the Hulk.

[Boom!] [Boom!] [Boom!]

The Hulk dodged and jumped, causing Koneko to use this opportunity to attack the Hulk once more from his blind side.

This time, the Hulk had been ready for her.

The Hulk raised his foot and stomped on the ground, causing it to shake. Koneko was quick enough to react and had jumped into the air, heading right towards the Hulk with a flying kick.

But the Hulk was ready for that.

He grabbed her leg in midair and…

[WHAM!]

…slammed her into the ground, leaving her lying dazed in a crater.

"Puny kid…" the Hulk remarked to her.

Koneko did not react well to that statement.

"Who… did you call… 'puny'…?" Koneko weakly spoke to the Hulk in anger.

[WHAM!] [WHAM!] [WHAM!] [WHAM!]

The Hulk slammed her into the ground a few more times and this time, she was unconscious and bleeding from her head.

"You puny…" The Hulk replied and looked at his last opponent – Rias Gremory. "You next…"

13th of November, Friday, 4:22 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

"Okay… Now that really hurt…" Ryuga said to Matsuda. "I'm not sure if I could take on this many brutal slams to the concrete!"

"If you can't, you think I can?" Matsuda retorted.

"Anyway, I think it's clear they are losing. Do you guys have any more plans on how to deal with this thing?" Ryuga asked Matsuda.

"I… The only thing I can do is trust in Issei…" Matsuda stated helplessly.

13th of November, Friday, 4:23 pm – Meanwhile with Rias

"Damn you!" Rias cried out, as she charged for the biggest orb of destruction she could muster.

She knew that this creature was strong if he could take on so many of her attacks of the Power of Destruction, in which she had a lot of pride in.

"Let's see… how you take…" Rias had not finished charging her attack when the Hulk had leapt towards her.

Rias froze upon seeing the Hulk suddenly jumping at her, as she clearly did not expect him to do so.

"KYAAAH!" Rias screamed, as the Hulk sent her to the ground.

[WHOOM!] The sound of the Hulk's landing impact was heard in the immediate vicinity.

The Hulk flattened her upon landing on the ground with her beneath him. Rias groaned from the pain and could not move.

The Hulk raised his fists and was about to pound her into mush.

13th of November, Friday, 4:24 pm – Meanwhile with Matsuda and Ryuga

13th of November, Friday, 4:25 pm – Meanwhile with the Hulk

The sound of the Boosted Gear was resounding through the area, much to the Hulk's bewilderment.

The Hulk was hit by the powerful attack. He tried to resist, but the attack was so strong and had lasted for several seconds, so that the Hulk had been pushed off Rias. The Hulk rolled off a few meters away and quickly stood up to see who was attacking him.

"Huh…?" Rias moaned weakly, as she felt the weight suddenly lifted from her prone body.

She faintly saw the image of a figure wearing crimson armor, while standing a good distance away with one of his arms outstretched.

"You… are… Sekiryuutei…" Rias said weakly before she drifted into unconsciousness.

The Hulk growled angrily, as he had been interrupted for the umpteenth time today.

Issei, on the other hand, stood there calmly. Yet inwardly he was nervous at this knowledge.

[Get ready, Partner. You must be very careful with this opponent] Ddraig warned him.

"Yeah, I know," Issei said to Ddraig.

Issei knew that this was going to be the toughest fight yet.

But the worst was yet to come…

13th of November, Friday, 4:27 pm – Meanwhile on the news

"Breaking news! We have reports that a mysterious green humanoid monster has appeared in the middle of Tokyo near the Akihabara district. The monster has wreaked havoc, sending masses of civilians running and attacking police. We bring you live footage of the scene from our reporter in our news copters where a man in red armor has arrived on the scene…"

…Every single household in the country had seen or heard of this news. And that included concerned individuals, too.

At the same time with the Western Youkai Faction somewhere in Western Japan

"That's the green monster that has attacked our warriors!" said a Youkai warrior.

"Yes, indeed…" Yasaka stated calmly, as she looked at the TV screen.

Also, at the same time with the Fallen Angels in the Grigori

"The Sekiryuutei… he has appeared. This is our chance!" the Fallen Angel named Simeon said to Dohnasseek.

"Yes," Dohnasseek replied with a devious smile on his face. "Tell the others to get ready for deployment."

"Yes, Dohnasseek," Simeon replied and headed out of the door.

Dohnasseek sat in his chair and surmised to himself, as he watched the news on the big screen.

"This is going to be interesting. I think it's best to observe the fight in person," Dohnasseek reasoned to himself.

…with the German terrorists in an apartment

"Boss, do you think…?" Torben asked the Boss.

"Yes, I think so, too. It's him," the Boss said to Torben.

"What do we do?" Hans asked this time.

"We will wait and see…" the Boss said ominously.

…with Sona Sitri at Kuoh Academy in Kuoh

"Rias, why did you have to go to Tokyo at this time?" Sona said to herself, as she massaged her forehead in frustration.

She had been told by Tsubaki that Rias and her peerage had gone to Tokyo to find the Red Dragon Emperor even though she had told her not to do so. What was worse was the fact that there was a huge green monster terrorizing the city of Tokyo.

And now, Sona had to save her rear because of that, or else Rias' brother would never let her hear the end of it.

She looked back at Tsubaki and nodded. Tsubaki nodded back and the two of them teleported away.

…with the Chinese Amazons in the Neko Neko Restaurant

"Red Crimson warrior…" Cat Fu gnashed her teeth in anger.

She and Cat Fu were watching the news on TV along with all the other guests in the restaurant.

"We shall finally avenge our honor. Call Mouse. We shall avenge the damage done to our restaurant and dignity and kill this crimson barbarian," Colon ordered Cat Fu.

"Yes, grandmother," Cat Fu replied and headed out.

"In the meantime," Colon said to herself, as she looked towards the cellar entrance. "I should make sure to keep our… guest… in check…"

Colon walked towards the cellar door, opened it and went in, closing it behind her.

…with Loki in Scandinavia

"So, my two worst enemies have shown up all at once…" Loki said, as he reclined at the couch, while watching the news. "…I will enjoy their fight. May the best one win…"

Loki said, as he took his first bite of an apple.

He sat there amused until he realized something.

"Oh, yes! With all the chaos going on. I think it is time…" Loki said to himself and transformed into a fly. "…To find Fenrir. That takes priority. That, and to find the one who captured him…"

Loki finished his words with a sinister expression on his face.

And that was the Chapter 54 of The Lone Vigilante Issei.

I made this chase scene the way it is to give Motohama a little one on one with the Hulk… sort of. Of course, he could never beat Hulk like that. Probably not ever. But at least, he would grow a bit as a character.

And that leads me the other reason for this scene. It was for him to finally unlock the function that was mentioned by Monika way back, namely the mist function for his gloves. Why does it appear now? I probably would say it resonated with his soul – just like Sacred Gears do.

For those who wanted to see the Devils of Kuoh make a grand appearance, you have waited patiently, and it has paid off. They put up a decent fight but, of course, the Hulk is stronger. I mean if he can be the match of a Nordic God, how can a mere Devil peerage of four adolescents compare?

The fight scene itself was not something I expected to write, and I don't think it was anything special. However, it does showcase their abilities, something I realized I may have forgotten over the years.

You see, I haven't read High School DxD in years. And I have never read the manga or watched the Anime. The only link I still have to High School DxD is this fanfiction. Which is why I am starting to forget details related to High School DxD. Thankfully, the fan-made wiki page helps me for this story.

And finally, Issei has shown up to fight, but unfortunately, his ability to stay in the Balance Breaker form is limited to less than a minute.

What will Issei do? Can he finish off the Hulk in that time? Tune in next time.
