The sun rose on the Autobot base, much as it had the previous day before Romeo and Juliet had arrived from their world. Optimus stared at the rising sun atop the base, his thoughts racing as he heard mechanical footsteps coming from behind him.

"Optimus," he heard Ratchet's voice, "are you alright? You weren't in command to wish our new friends luck on their first day of school."

"I am fine, Ratchet," Optimus said.

"Optimus, we've known each other for a long time," ratchet said, "I can tell when you're lying to me."

Optimus closed his eyes as he realized his old friend was right. He was a great leader, but a terrible liar. "Ratchet…what if Megatron had somehow survived the Space Bridge explosion?"

"That's absurd!" Ratchet scoffed, "You said it yourself, Optimus, not even he could have survived that explosion!"

"I know," Optimus said, "but when you said that there was residual energy from the explosion emanating from Romeo and Juliet, I thought that maybe…"

"Optimus," Ratchet began, "I'm not sure why I detected that energy from them, and while it may be the reason they're here, that wouldn't account for the possibility of Megatron surviving. And even if, by some stroke of luck, Megatron did survive the explosion, I doubt he'd be in any condition to continue leading the Decepticons."

"I hope you're right, old friend. But if Megatron does indeed return, we will be ready," Optimus said as he noticed Agent Fowler's car driving away from the base.

Meanwhile in the car, Romeo and Juliet sat in the back as Agent Fowler drove through the desert towards the town.

"First time seeing anything like this?" he asked.

"Not exactly," Romeo answered, "I saw a place like this when my father sent me to oversee a mine."

"A mine, huh?" said Fowler, "Sounds like a pretty big responsibility for a kid your age."

"My father mostly did it out of spite," Romeo explained, "he wasn't very happy that I was in love with the daughter of the man he'd overthrown."

"Your dad sounds like he was a real piece of work," said Fowler.

Romeo nodded in agreement, though he seemed to be having a hard time getting the hang of this new world's slang. "He was a cruel man and a terrible ruler. He made everyone's lives miserable and took advantage of the poorest of our people."

"Sounds like a lot of world leaders I'd read about in history class," Fowler commented, "which reminds me, I had to enroll the two of you with cover names."

"Cover names?" asked Juliet, "Why?"

"Well, like Raf pointed out yesterday, it'd attract too much attention if you used your real names," Agent Fowler explained, "and with the Cons after you, we can't have you guys attracting too much attention. So Romeo, your cover name is Roy Smith, and Juliet, you'll be going by Clara Weaver. I already talked to the kids about it, and they're willing to go along with it. Just try not to do anything else that'll make you stand out."

"Those names sound…unusual," Juliet commented.

"Well, as unusual as they sound, you'll have to get used to using them outside the base," said Fowler, "and a word of advice, try not to talk to the other kids as much until you start talking more like them."

"This should be interesting," Juliet said with a sigh.

"Play the footage again, Soundwave," Starscream said as he watched the footage of Juliet using her powers. Soundwave did as instructed, and as he watched, Starscream only grew more confused, and more frustrated, "I don't understand. We've spent years watching these pathetic humans, but they've never displayed anything remotely close to what that girl was able to do. Who is she, anyway? Are there any records of her or that other human she was protecting?"

Soundwave didn't respond, indicating that there were no records of them in any human database.

"Then who are they?" Starscream growled.

"Lord Starscream," he heard a female voice say from behind him. Starscream turned to see Shatter approach them.

"Ah, I see you've finally learned your place, Shatter," he remarked.

"Yes," said Shatter, "and I wish to apologize for my behavior earlier. It won't happen again."

Starscream looked at the red Triple-Changer, still unsure of her true intentions. "Then perhaps you can assist me in identifying the Autobots' new humans."

"I did hear two names, actually," Shatter told him, "Romeo and Juliet."

Just then, Soundwave ran the names through a search, and his findings were rather unexpected.

"Well, Soundwave did find a match," Starscream said, "but according to the results, those names belong to two characters in a primitive piece of human fiction."

"That makes no sense," deemed Shatter.

"That may be, but nonetheless, here they are," said Starscream, "We will have to find them to get to the bottom of all this. You and Dropkick will locate them and bring them to me, Shatter."

"As you wish, Lord Starscream," Shatter said with a bow before turning around and leaving the bridge. "For now…" she muttered to herself with a smirk.

"You're crazy, Miko!" said Jack as he and his friends took their seats.

"You're just now figuring that out?" Raf asked sarcastically.

"Hey!" Miko shouted.

"I'm not saying I don't like it," Jack continued, "I'm just saying the original Ghostbusters movie was better than Ghostbusters 2."

"What about Ghostbusters 2016?" asked Raf.

"We don't speak of that one!" Miko shouted in disgust.

"Finally, something we agree on," Jack joked.

"Alright, settle down everyone," said the teacher, "I have an announcement to make."

The class then began to quiet down and take their seats as the teacher walked to the front of the classroom.

"Today we have two new students," he said as two familiar faces to the kids of Team Prime entered the classroom, "please help me welcome Roy Smith and Clara Weaver."

Romeo and Juliet turned to the classroom and smiled.

"Hello," Juliet greeted them with a smile. She then heard a rude whistle.

"Welcome to Hell on Earth, babe," said a rude-looking boy with a dirty brown jacket and light red hair, earning himself a glare from Romeo.

"Alright, that's enough, Vince," the teacher said sharply, "The two of you can take your seats now. I believe there are two seats available by Jack over there."

"Thank you, sir," Romeo said with appreciation. He and Juliet then took their seats by Jack and the others.

"You guys okay?" Jack whispered to them.

"Yes, we're alright," Juliet whispered back.

"That's good," Jack responded, "and don't worry about Vince, we'll keep him away from you guys."

Romeo and Juliet felt reassured by Jack's words, especially Romeo, who didn't particularly like the way that Vince boy whistled at his wife.

"Alright, students," said the teacher, "since we have some new students today, we're gonna take a break from our lesson and watch a movie."

"A movie?" asked Juliet.

"It's short for moving pictures," Jack whispered to her and Romeo, "it's a form of entertainment in this world, kinda like the plays in yours."

"Excuse me, sir," Raf said to the teacher, "but what movie are we gonna be watching?"

"We're going to be watching the film adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play, Romeo and Juliet," the teacher announced, making the young couple, secretly of the same names, blush in embarrassment.

Meanwhile, back at the Autobot Base, Ratchet was looking over the scans of Juliet from the previous day, only to make a startling discovery.

"Optimus, you might want to see this," he said.

"What have you found, Ratchet?" asked Optimus.

"I'm not sure," Ratchet started, "I found something unexpected from the scans of Juliet. It seems there's something inside of her that's giving off the same energy signature detected upon their arrival."

Optimus looked at the scans and became puzzled. "What do you think it is?"

"I don't know," said Ratchet, "but I believe that it is the source of Juliet's abilities."

"A valid hypothesis, old friend," Optimus stated, "all the more reason to protect her and Romeo from the Decepticons. If Starscream were to discover this, he would stop at nothing to acquire the power Juliet possesses."

"I know," Ratchet said, "Perhaps we should discuss it with them when they return from school."

"I agree," said Optimus. Just then, the Autobot leader's mind went back to his and Ratchet's discussion earlier that morning. If his fears were justified, and Megatron had indeed survived the Space Bridge explosion, he too would stop at nothing to acquire the source of Juliet's powers, or worse, ensure that no one else could. And that was something Optimus couldn't allow.

It was a few hours later when Romeo and Juliet found themselves in Bumblebee's backseat with Raf in the front passenger's seat. The school day was interesting, they had learned many new things about their new world, but they were still recovering from the shock of how they'd been portrayed in the movie, especially with how it showed their deaths.

"Are you guys doing okay?" Raf asked.

"Not exactly…" said Juliet.

"You're still shocked about the movie?" said Raf.

"How could we not be?!" Romeo shouted, "I can't ever imagine killing myself for any reason, not even to be with Juliet in the afterlife! I'm fairly certain she'd want me to continue living my life to the fullest!"

"I know you'd want that for me too, Romeo," Juliet commented.

"But didn't you guys still technically die?" asked Bumblebee.

"Yes, but we didn't kill ourselves," said Juliet.

Just then, Raf looked at her in surprise, as did Romeo.

"Wait a minute," Raf exclaimed, "You can understand Bumblebee too?!"

"I guess so," said Juliet.

"How's that even possible?" Raf asked, "I mean, I can understand him, but I always thought that was because of my tech skills."

"I can't understand him," Romeo commented, "so how can you, Juliet?"

"I…I don't know," Juliet said. It was all so confusing for her. Her and Romeo being brought back to life in a new world, her powers, and now being able to understand Bumblebee when only one other human could, none of it made sense.

"Maybe it has something to do with that mark on her chest," Bumblebee said.

"A mark on her chest?" Raf asked.

Juliet suddenly gasped as she pulled down the collar of her shirt and looked to see that there was indeed a mark on her chest that looked like a small flame. She hadn't noticed it before, but she knew all too well what it was.

"Now hold still, Juliet," Ratchet instructed, "this won't hurt a bit." He then began scanning her body with his instruments. The readings then appeared on the Autobot medic's monitor. "Just as I thought."

"What is it, Ratchet?" asked Optimus.

"Is something wrong with Juliet?" Romeo asked with worry.

"I'm…not sure," Ratchet responded, "but I've detected the source of the energy signature. It's inside of Juliet."

"Wait a minute, doc," Bulkhead butted in, "are you saying that Juliet's the reason she and Romeo ended up here?"

"More accurately, Bulkhead, the energy within her is the reason they're here, as well as the source of her abilities, her powers, if you will," Ratchet explained.

"But what exactly is it?" Arcee asked.

"I know what it is…" Juliet glumly answered.

"You do?" Ratchet said in surprise.

"It is the seed of Escalus," she said.

"The what?" the kids and their guardians said in confusion.

"It can't be…" Romeo said, a devastated expression on his face.

"Escalus? The tree that kept your country alive for centuries?" Optimus inquired.

"Yes," Juliet said sadly, "Since ancient times, Escalus and its companion, another tree like it, kept the lands alive and thriving, but for a price…"

"What price?" Arcee asked, but Juliet didn't answer her. She kept silent with a sad expression on her face. Romeo then stepped in for her.

"In order to keep Escalus alive, its seed would be given to the daughters of House Capulet," he explained before a pained expression grew on his face, "They would then be sacrificed to Escalus itself, and in exchange, it would give life to the land."

"Hold on," said Jack, "you guys said that you both died when Juliet sacrificed herself to save your people, right? Is that what you were talking about?"

"Yes…" Juliet finally spoke.

The five Autobots and three humans looked at their new friends sympathetically. Optimus especially felt great sympathy for Juliet, having also carried a heavy burden within himself for centuries, a burden he never wanted to carry, but had no choice but to accept the responsibility. "Juliet," he spoke, "while this revelation is no doubt a startling one for you, I do not believe you are in danger of having to sacrifice yourself again."

"How can you be sure, Optimus?" the Capulet girl asked.

"You are in a new world now, one that is alive and thriving without such a tree as Escalus," the Autobot leader explained, "While its seed may still be inside of you, I do not see any reason for you to fear it. Perhaps it is what brought you and Romeo back to life, to give you both a second chance at happiness. And I vow to both of you, with all my Spark, I will never allow either of you to endure such hardships again."

Juliet looked at hers and her husband's new guardian and could sense that he was sincere. As grateful as she felt to be given a second chance with her Romeo, she felt even more grateful that such a powerful being would promise that it wouldn't be taken away from them. But even more than that, she could sense something else within the Autobot leader. Something speaking to her, something very powerful. And it was telling her that he knew of the burden she carried.

"Thank you, Optimus," Juliet finally said with a smile.

"So…" Miko spoke up, "do you think that seed thing is why Juliet has superpowers?"

"I believe so," said Ratchet, "but until we can learn more about her abilities, as well as the seed, I would recommend against anything emotionally strenuous, as that's what seemed to trigger them in the first place."

"You're the doc, doc," Bulkhead commented, causing the Autobot medic to sigh with slight annoyance.

Suddenly, the base's computer beeped, and everyone heard the voice of a familiar government agent. "Prime!"

"Special Agent Fowler," Optimus said as Fowler's face appeared on the monitor, "what is going on?"

"You know those two new Cons?" Fowler asked, "Well, it looks like we found them, but as soon as we did, they disappeared."

"Disappeared?" asked Ratchet, "How?"

"Well…"

Later that night, a fighter jet and a combat helicopter flew over the area where the two Triple-Changers first arrived, only to come close to the ground and then transform into said Triple-Changers, Shatter being the fighter jet, and Dropkick the combat helicopter.

"Secondary vehicle modes acquired," Shatter said with a smirk.

"So what're we doing back here, Shatter?" Dropkick asked, " Why's this spot so special?"

"It was no accident that we arrived in this location, my friend," Shatter explained, "Before calling us to this planet, Lord Megatron had Soundwave scout locations that we may use as our own base of operations."

"Lord Megatron did what?" Dropkick said in surprise. Their master had rarely ever shown anyone such generosity in his time as leader.

"It was his idea for a fail safe that we may reclaim the Decepticons, should Starscream ever succeed in his schemes to overthrow him," said Shatter as she led her partner into a nearby cave. Once inside, the blue Triple-Changer's optics widened as the pair came upon an Energon deposit, mining equipment, and other equipment to assist them, including a Ground Bridge.

"He gave us a Ground Bridge?" Dropkick said in surprise.

"Among other things, comrade," Shatter said with a smirk, "This will act as our secret base for the time being. We will use this equipment to further our endeavors of building our army to restore Lord Megatron."

"What makes you think the Autobots won't come back here?" Dropkick asked.

"They have no reason to," Shatter explained, "as far as they know, this was only our arrival location, and if they are foolish enough to return, we'll deal with them."

"And what about Starscream? Even he's not completely oblivious to everything," Dropkick pointed out.

"Simple," said Shatter, "The only ones who know of this place are the two of us and Soundwave, and he's always been good at keeping things to himself when necessary. And we can always Ground Bridge back to the warship before Starscream notices our absence."

"Good ol' Soundwave," Dropkick chuckled.

"With that said, let's get to work," Shatter recommended.

At that same moment, Romeo found himself at the top of the base, looking at the stars. Much was on his mind, and he still didn't understand all of it. Suddenly, The ground shook a little as he heard large mechanical footsteps coming from behind him.

"Shouldn't you be resting?" he heard Optimus's voice ask.

"Oh, Optimus," Romeo said as he turned his head towards his and his wife's guardian, "I have a lot on my mind."

"I understand," Optimus said, "Do you wish to discuss it?"

"I'm worried for Juliet's future," Romeo started, "I almost lost her once, I don't want that to happen again."

"Romeo," Optimus spoke, "I know you wish to protect her, but you must understand the burden she carries, as I do."

"You do?" Romeo asked in surprise.

Optimus nodded, "A long time ago, I too was entrusted with a great power, and a heavy burden. One many had coveted, but one that I never had any desire for."

"And you accepted it all the same?" Romeo asked.

"I had no choice," Optimus said, "Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing."

"So what should I do?"

"You must accept that Juliet must carry this burden," Optimus said, "but remember that she does not have to carry it alone as long as she has you."

Romeo let out a smile. Optimus's words reminded him of something his mother would say to him, to which the young man was grateful. "Thank you, Optimus."

"You're welcome," Optimus responded with a smile, "now please, get some rest."

"I will," Romeo said before returning into the base. He then went to his and Juliet's room to find his beloved wife fast asleep. He then went over to the bed and sat by her side. "Sleep well, my Juliet." He said softly as he leaned down and kissed her forehead. He didn't know what the future would hold, but he didn't care. All that mattered to him was Juliet. "Together, shall we be," he whispered lovingly into her ear, "henceforth to the end of eternity."
