Chokuritsu Highschool, Central Furcifer City - 9:51 AM
The sound of high heels tapping gently on the floor echoed through the hallway as Cynthia walked down it with her trusty bodyguard. Said bodyguard was a reptilian looking nightmare that strode beside her. It had the same reptilian face the Creepers had, only dark blue with two devil horns sticking out the side. Its body was large and muscular, standing 10ft high and littered with dark blue and purple scales. Its legs were slightly bent in the same shape as a velociraptor with the same large claw on it's the two most notable features however was the massive shark tail that extended out the creature's back which gave it swimming capabilities. That, and the two large blade-like appendages that stuck out of its forearms, running down its arms and past the elbow like a long-bladed tonfa. The creature wasn't completely naked thankfully, wearing a pristine Viking like armour that was white and covered its chest, legs and shoulders. It spoke no English, just giving guttural growls at those who went past.
As for Cynthia, she wasn't wearing high heels; the noise coming from another individual. She could easily be spotted down the end of the empty hallway; curly black hair that flowed down her back and was swept out of her fearsome red eyes. Her attire was a long black dress with several sparkles on them that resembled the stars in the night sky. Cynthia couldn't help but give a huge grin when the individual noticed her, them frowning angrily when Cynthia approached her.
"My, my. If it isn't the Ice Queen Violetta. How are you these days?" Cynthia asked sweetly. Violetta, whose height rivalled Sebastian's, narrowed her eyes.
"Fine" she answered in a somewhat irritated tone. "I see you're still playing around with these…filthy things." Cynthia's bodyguard growled, raising its bladed arm.
"Gladio" Cynthia warned, like a mother telling off her child as her eyes darted towards the creature, narrowing into an angry expression. Gladio subsided.
"My dear Violetta, is that any way to greet me after all these years?" Cynthia asked. Violetta just let out a huff and went to move around Cynthia. But before she could take another step forward, Cynthia spoke again. "What are you even doing here in the first place? Only those with special permission can have access to my buildings." Violetta stared at Cynthia with anger filled eyes before continuing.
"I'm simply here to check on my daughter's progress. She has applied for the entrance exam."
"Which one?" Cynthia asked with curiosity. Violetta blinked in a slight surprise.
"Aelita of course. Is she here too?" Violetta asked.
"No. Maya was unfortunately eaten by one of my pets. Terribly sorry about that by the way" Cynthia answered. Violetta scoffed.
"Don't be. That pathetic girl doesn't deserve to have the Korenic family name. She was weak and now she's paid for it" Violetta said in annoyance. Maya was a poor excuse for a villain, she always had been. Violetta expected that the girl had come crawling back to Furcifer City as a last-ditch effort to prove her wrong. Look how well that turned out.
"Yes, but it's a shame that we're stuck with that horrific brat you call a daughter now. Such an ill-mannered child" Cynthia commented, trying to hide the smile on her face. She almost laughed at the murderous growl Violetta gave.
"You dare speak about Aelita in such a way?!" The taller woman thundered.
"Well, yes I do dare" Cynthia answered, walking past Violetta slowly. "I mean. I may have to buy a new dress for her funeral since she'll fail the exam" Cynthia continued, raising her hand and inspecting her glove. She then glanced back slightly, a dark smile on her face.
"Then again, your family is full of failures."
In an instant, Cynthia was spun around by Violetta, held up by her shirt as the taller woman stared at her with murderous intent. Gladio moved forward but Cynthia held up her hand slightly, telling her servant to back off which he did.
"Listen to me very carefully sister," Violetta said darkly as ice of a dark colour began for form on the ground around her, rising as small black pillars. "There is a good reason why I am wanted in twenty-three countries and I'm sure you don't want to find out why. Aelita will pass this exam and I will nurture her into the villain she has always meant to become. Once done, she will knock you off your pretty little throne and this city will be under the rule of my family like it always should have been." Cynthia couldn't help but chuckle at the petty threat as she closed her eyes. It was the same thing as usual. How boring.
"My dear Violetta…" Cynthia began, opening her eyes to reveal nothing but a black void instead.
"Over my dead body."
Violetta instantly dropped Cynthia, the black ice spears shrinking away. Cynthia smiled and turned around, her eyes turning back to their normal blue. "Come now Gladio, we have an exam to introduce" the blonde called. The reptilian monster obeyed and followed her through the hallway. Violetta just growled and walked the opposite way.
She'd prove that witch wrong soon enough.
There once was a little girl who grew up with a bunch of monsters.
Her mother was a monster.
Her father was a monster.
Her sister was a monster.
But the girl was no less than an angel. She didn't belong down with the other monsters.
"You're a monster just like us, you always have been and always will be," the monsters said.
The little angel didn't agree with them. She was an angel with wings.
So she flew away.
But the other angels didn't accept her.
"You live with monsters. You're not like us, you never will be."
The angels all flew off without her while the little angel tried to follow.
She never caught up.
The monsters, seeing their chance, seized her.
"We told you," they said, pulling her back down. "They think you're a monster like us, and you are."
They clipped her wings as punishment.
The little angel cried out to the other angels for help.
But they had all flown away.
"You're one of us now. You're a wonderful monster just like us" they said.
But they were wrong.
The angel wanted to choose her own path.
She didn't want to become an angel now, nor a monster.
She became something far worse.
SHE BECAME THE DEVIL.
Chokuritsu Highschool Auditorium, Central Furcifer City - 9:57 AM
Talia was absolutely and utterly bored out of her mind. The tan-skinned girl had been in this godforsaken city for three whole days now without a shred of entertainment. Upon arrival, she had been ushered into an armoured transport and taken to a hotel relatively close to the supposed school. There she spent the next three agonizing days trapped there with nothing to do. She was allowed to wander around the hotel and her room had a few books and a TV with some games, but she was forbidden from exploring the city. There was no chance for escape as various armoured guards wandered the halls to make sure she and any other applicants stayed out of trouble. Upon asking a guard why there was so many and why they were so heavily armoured, Talia had been told that they were there for 'security purposes.' In Talia's mind, that said: 'We're here to stop you from killing each other.' Most of the other applicants seemed like utter psychos compared to her. She was not looking forward to working with them at all.
Today had heralded a change for her usual routine. She was woken by the guards at 7:30 AM sharp and given a tray of breakfast consisting of cereal, fruit and juice. She was then told to prepare herself and her equipment for the exam and to be down in the lobby by 8:30. Talia did so, dressing in a pair of ripped black skinny jeans which hugged her curves along with a long-sleeved black top and an olive green bomber jacket. She was tempted to wear her necklaces but opted not to for fear of losing them in the exam field. She decided to leave her hair as it was, it being midnight black and long whilst left in her signature wavy style. Her left eye had been covered by the hair over her face; people didn't need to see that monster.
After gathering her equipment, Talia had been quickly ushered out of her room and into another armoured transport which had taken her to the school. She didn't see much of it but said 'school' was a massive black skyscraper that dwarfed the other buildings in the area. After that, she had been rushed down several hallways until she reached a large open auditorium with no chairs. She also noticed the several armoured guards stood around the edge of the room. She had only just reached the door when a man in a lab coat handed her a large black wristband of some sort, instructing her to put it on. Talia did so; the band attaching with a metallic click. From then on, she waited by the entrance, looking over the competition she'd have to face. She didn't know why, but a bad feeling washed over her when a black-haired girl had stridden in confidently, clutching the largest sword she'd ever seen. After watching her move through the crowd, Talia had spent the next half hour staring into space while she waited for the exam to start.
She looked back at the large pair of double doors closed with a loud bang as their frames creaked. Both of them built by the finest carpenters in the city and made from the best wood money could buy. Oh, how she envied this place. At last, it seemed like the last few applicants had stridden in; the last two being a short black-haired boy with a rucksack and a larger well-built spider mutant with fur covering his face and several spider-like eyes.
"Fucking finally. I was getting tired of sitting in that god damn truck" the spider huffed as he attached his wristband to his arm.
"It was funny watching you squirm about" the smaller boy chuckled. "You looked ready to jump out of your seat." This had ticked off the spider.
"Do you have any idea how painful it is to sit with these legs?" He asked, getting closer in an attempt to intimidate the smaller boy. "It fucking hurts, so you try being in my position then." Talia groaned quietly as she watched the pair bicker. At last, she'd had enough.
"Dios mío, would you please shut the fuck up. You sound like a screeching harpy" she said angrily. Both Sean and Leonardo stopped to look at her in surprise. Not long afterwards, Sean responded.
"Bugger off Mexican Girl, this is none of your business" he huffed angrily. Talia frowned angrily as she felt blood vessel burst.
"I'm from California pendejo" she barked back, venom in every word. This didn't deter Sean one bit as he walked up to her. Despite being a great deal shorter than her, Sean didn't back down from Talia as he glared hatefully into her eyes.
"I don't give a fuck where you're from. If you've got a problem with me talking, then why don't you kiss my sweet little ass Sheila " Sean said. Talia smirked as a comeback came to her.
"Like I'd kiss that flat thing. You spew more shit from your mouth than you do your own ass." Leonardo howled with laughter as Sean went redder than a Woodlouse Spider. He could feel his legs crawling out of his back, itching to get a hold of the tan girl and rip her face off.
"Ok, ok, lets chill out now," Leonardo said, still chuckling. "I apologise for my friend here, he has 'issues'" Leonardo then continued, pulling a growling Sean away from Talia.
"I can see that" Talia huffed while Leonardo gave a small chuckle. Sean then made a promise that he would kill the pair of them the first chance he got.
"I'm Leonardo Reyes" Leonardo introduced as he held out his hand. "The edgelord behind me is Sean Walker." Sean raised his fist and was about to yell before deciding a quieter approach would be best.
"I can introduce myself you know" he huffed; folding his arms and looking towards the stage.
"What a baby," Talia thought before deciding to shake Leonardo's hand. "Talia Silverman" she answered. Though she was wary of the pair, they seemed to be ok. They were the only group of people conversing. Many of the other applicants had decided to stand alone and brood by themselves. At last, the curtains of the stage were pulled back to reveal the massive black screen behind them as well as a microphone.
It was starting.
The floor beneath stage seemed to rise as Cynthia herself rose up onto the stage in front of the microphone. Talia narrowed her eyes as he looked at the woman who stood there with a calm smile on her face.
"That's her. The most dangerous woman in the city" she thought, looking the woman up and down. Cynthia tapped the microphone gently with her had before speaking.
"Greetings all. My name is Cynthia, but those who survive the next two hours will henceforth refer to me as headmistress as you will be the ones becoming part of this fine establishment." She looked out over the crowd before speaking once more. "Each of you has been personally sought out by me for a single purpose: to become villains. Each one of you from this day will embark on a quest to transform and grow into the world's next villains."
"Spare us the pleasantry's and get the fuck on with it" Sean muttered quietly. Talia couldn't help but agree with him. She was also far too eager to get on with this godforsaken exam already.
"Firstly, allow me to congratulate you for passing the first half of the exams" Cynthia continued. There were murmurs of confusion as Talia looked over at Sean and Leonardo, the latter just shrugging in confusion. "The first half of the exam was your journey through the Devil's Labyrinth. As outsiders to the city, it serves as a test to see if you are worth me wasting my time on. And it seems you lucky few are." Talia growled at this.
"Arrogant Perra" she hissed, her Spanish purr being heard. Sean cast a small glance at her with one of his eyes before refocusing it back on the stage.
"So it was a test all along? Not a bad idea" Leonardo hummed.
"It was a fucking pain. We almost died four times" Sean huffed.
"Correction: you almost died four times" Leonardo quipped.
"Because you didn't bloody help!" Sean said in a hushed yell. Talia remembered the Labyrinth and the various monstrosities inside it. No matter how many times she stabbed, ripped or mauled them, they just kept coming.
"Now for the introduction to the second half your exam," Cynthia said as she pulled out a remote from her lab coat before pressing a button. There were gasps of surprise as parts of the floor opened to allow several tall metal poles to rise out of it, each with a strip of metal on top resembling a flag that had a number on it marked in yellow. "The second half of the exam will be done a little differently as you'll be grouped into teams to complete it" Cynthia explained. There were various outcries at the new information as many wished to work solo. Talia herself blinked in surprise. Teams? It seemed working alone would be nothing more than a mere dream. She groaned in annoyance alongside some other applicants while others yelled out their complaints to Cynthia, Sean being one of the loudest. Cynthia herself was taken aback a little bit by the sudden hostility. "Ok, can we all calm down please?" she asked. Nobody bothered to listen as the shouting continued. Cynthia sighed and pinched the bridge between her eyes before deciding to shut the crowd up.
"I SAID SHUT IT!" She roared through the microphone, her Quirk distorting her voice into that of a horrific demon that gave rise to fear as it echoed through the speakers. Immediately the room went silent, a powerful pressure washing over the students.
"Holy…shit" Sean managed to get out as his body twitched and shook. His danger sense had been going crazy ever since Cynthia had risen onto the stage and now it was screaming at him to just drop everything and run. Talia looked over to see even the calm and playful Leonardo was as white as a sheet. Talia herself had never been scared of anything. But this woman was something else entirely.
And then the pressure lifted.
Talia let out the breath she didn't realise she was holding. The sudden fear had disappeared as Cynthia went to continue the introduction of the exam.
"Now then, I know what you're all thinking. Yes, you are going to become villains, each one with their own selfish desires and dreams. However, only the villains united under a single cause will succeed in their endeavours. Do not forget that it was the infamous League of Villains in Japan that caused the downfall of the one of, if not the, greatest hero in history. You do well to remember that. So, for your exam, you will be randomised into groups of five. How it will be done is the wristbands you have put on. These wristbands will be crucial as they will dictate whether you pass or fail by recording the points you collect over the exam." Talia glanced down at the wristband, noting the unusual design. There appeared to be two small slots in between the digital screen, one closest to her hand, the other to her forearm. "The tokens that you were gifted in the invitation letter are the key to activating the wristbands as well as this exam" Cynthia continued, holding up her arm with one of the wristbands on it. "By placing it in the slot located at the front of the band, it will generate a random number." Cynthia then did so, slotting her token into the wristband which caused a red 1 to appear on the screen.
"After you have been given your number, you must go to the designated area that matches your number." Cynthia then pointed to the pole with the yellow 1 on it. "Since my number is number one, I shall go to that area." Sean pulled out his token from his jacket pocket, pondering what type of team he'd be with before turning back to the exam. "From there you will meet the rest of your team. You will each pass as a team, fail as a team, and die as a team. Should one team member die in the exam, do not fret as that will not cause automatic failure. Failure only occurs should you not be able to accumulate enough points for the duration of the exam." Cynthia then turned as pressed another button on the remote, the screen lighting up.
"As a villain school it is only fitting, we have a villain-based exam" Cynthia explained the screen showed various cartoon images of villainous activities. "These can be anything from murder, robbery, theft, you name it. Each year has a different theme in which the exam is centred around." Talia's eyes looked over the various themes were then revealed on the next slide, darting up, down, left and right in an attempt to read them all before Cynthia continued. She secretly prayed the exam theme would be robbery as it was the most simple and effective crime she could pull off. That or Grand theft auto as either would be perfect.
"This year since we're inviting outsiders into the school, two themes will be chosen in honour of such a rare event." With a press of a button, two particular themes were highlighted and Talia's eyes narrowed. Jailbreak and Rioting. "These two themes will be the ones the exam is based around" Cynthia continued and moved onto the next slide. "The exam itself is simple. Teams will be placed inside a jail cell to break out of in the fastest time possible. Points will be allocated on the time it takes which are twenty points for one minute, ten points for five minutes, and five points for longer than ten minutes. After that, you will take part in the prison riot with the objective being to escape from the prison. Once again, points are allocated on time: twenty points for fifteen minutes, ten points for thirty minutes, and five for longer than forty-five minutes." Cynthia then paused to let the information sink into the prospective students, smiling delightfully at their struggling faces as their brains worked to formulate plans and ideas to get the fastest time.
"So it's a race basically" Sean muttered to himself as he looked at the diagrams which were now displayed on the screen.
"But you'll need to work as a team since you probably wouldn't score without all members escaping" Talia replied.
"What I don't understand is the riot part" Sean then said as he looked at her. "How is that involved?"
"Don't come to me for the answer. I don't know" Talia huffed in annoyance.
"Ah, young love~" Leonardo mused as he watched the pair. This got both Talia and Sean started up.
"Like hell, I'd fall for that Sheila! Fucking rude bitch she is" Sean yelled at his companion.
"Excuse me, I'm right here you know" Talia growled at Sean. "Estúpido gilipollas" she the muttered afterwards. Leonardo just chuckled and turned back to the stage where Cynthia was continuing to explain the exam details.
"Once you escape the prison you will be stuck in the middle of a riot. The goal is to defeat as many opponents as possible and gather points by beating them" Cynthia said before readying her remote. "Who are your opponents you ask...?" Cynthia then paused for dramatic effect.
"THESE ARE!"
Talia's jaw dropped the sight of the next screen, Leonardo and Sean, just as surprised as her.
"Are those…mugshots?!" Sure enough, each image on screen were rows and rows of mugshots of various men and women all decked out in prison uniforms. The scary part was the fact she recognised at least two or three from her past escapades.
"I know that guy," Sean said with a shaky voice.
"You too?" Talia asked quietly.
"Fifth row, eighth picture from the left" Sean answered her. Talia's eyes darted and saw a bald, dark-skinned man with a large ring piercing on his lower lip. "That's impossible though. I left him with a fucking hole in his stomach. How the fuck is he even alive?" Talia was a little creeped out at this point. Just how much did this woman know about her? About all of them?
"I can see most of you are a little shaken up by this then," Cynthia said, a sadistic smile forming on her face. "Your opponents will be none other than various prisoners; death row inmates who have committed horrific crimes such as murder, rape and more. Each one will be wearing a different coloured collar which determines their point value. Yellow collars are worth five points, orange are worth ten points and red collars are worth thirty. The objective is to defeat them and take a small token located in the back of the neck collar which you will then slot into the back of your wristband to record the points." She then gave a serious expression to all the applicants in the room, each one feeling the pressure of her sharp gaze.
"Do not think these people will take you lightly, they will kill you without hesitation to get your tokens. When I said they were important earlier, I meant it. Each token is programmed to unlock the collars on their bodies, two for the hands, two for the legs and one for the neck. Unlocking all five collars will grant them freedom from prison into the outside world; no strings attached." Someone then raised their hand. "Yes? What is it, young man?" Cynthia asked.
"Isn't that a little extreme?" A tall boy asked. "First having us try and escape jail and then fight scumbags like them? I signed up to learn how to be a master thief, not to fight for my life!"
"Well then you can get the fuck out of my school," Cynthia said. The boy gasped in surprise. "Growing up as a villain means you'll be subject to pursuit by various pro heroes left and right. Some of which are licenced to kill. While you may not have stared death in the face as many times as I have, you will still end up in those life or death situations sooner or later where the weak are weeded out and the strong survive. If you can't handle that then you don't deserve to be called a villain. NOW GET OUT." The boy was then shamefully escorted out the room by two of the armoured guards stood to watch. Leonardo then raised his hand.
"Excuse me! I'd just like to clarify something!" He called out.
"What is it?" Cynthia replied, rather annoyed at the boy's rudeness.
"Since their death row inmates, we can kill them, right?" He asked.
"Do whatever the hell you want with them. Kill them if needed. Just get the tokens from the collars" Cynthia told him.
"Thanks!" Leonardo called back before smiling like a madman. He was going to enjoy this very much.
"Don't forget though that we've picked the worst of the worse villains young man. Whatever they do to you is none of our concern either" Cynthia then added. Before clicking to another slide. "Only the criminals outside the prison will have the coloured collars that you can get points from. Those inside have theirs inactive. Additionally, prison guards will be trying to detain you at every step so watch out." Finally, the last slide clicked on with a small list, the word 'Rules' underlined and in bold at the top. "Lastly, a list of rules for you all" Cynthia began and turned to get a good look at the list she would read from. "To pass you will need to accumulate at least one hundred points by the end of the exam. No attacking teammates but you can attack other teams. Killing the prison guards is forbidden as they are staff members whom I need. Those are the basic rules and failure to follow them will result in an immediate failing grade and disqualification for the exam. Now then, each of you place your tokens inside the slot and let's get this thing started! You've got fifteen minutes!"
In union, all applicants placed their tokens in the small slot on the wristbands. A chorus od beeps washed over the exam hall as each one flared to life. Talia glanced at her's briefly before looking up at the two boys who were inspecting their wristbands.
"What number did you guys get? I got sixteen" She said.
"I got eleven" Leonardo answered, holding up his wristband.
"Oh for fuck's sake!" Sean cried.
"What?" Talia said annoyed as she and Leonardo looked at him.
"I got fucking eleven as well. I wanted to be rid of this fucking garden gnome" Sean complained while Leonardo chuckled.
"Oh, you poor baby~" Talia teased.
"Fuck off Sheila!" Sean yelled angrily. Talia let out an amused giggle. It looked like she finally had some form of entertainment now. Now that she got a proper look at him, Sean didn't look all that bad, even with his face which sported numerous eyes. His attitude just pissed her off but Talia knew better than to fall for it and throw insults back and forth. This way of getting her own back.
"Well, it seems I have to bid the pair of you adios. See you later, you sexy spider." Talia couldn't hold back the huge grin as she watched Sean have a full meltdown as he stood there stiff as a rock, face turning redder than it had done earlier. Leonardo was crying with laughter at Sean's reaction as the spider boy tried to formulate a coherent sentence, only to have a feeble noise escape his lips. Talia laughed and strode off through the crowd of moving applicants, some of which were also laughing at the poor boy's reaction.
"I think she broke you" Leonardo chuckled after his laughter died down. Sean whipped around quickly with a look of fury on his face.
"Say another fucking word and I will gouge out your eyes you little gremlin" Sean threatened.
"But if you do that, you'll be disqualified~," Leonardo said in a sing-song voice. Sean, knowing the shorter boy was right decided to give up and follow him through the crowd. It was a bit of a trek getting through the swarm of applicants since they were so far back in the auditorium but the soon reached the designated meeting point for their team, finding all the members already there. The shortest of the group was a girl just taller than Leonardo with a massive black helmet on her head that covered most of her head making her hair and eyes impossible to see. Her attire was a bright pink bomber jacket with a flame design on the back which was blue and purple. This was over a white shirt along with torn jeans and white converse trainers.
The taller of the two girls present stood there with a bored expression. Dark skinned with purple eyes and dark teal hair left in a curly fashion with two pigtails while also curling down to her cheeks. Her face was heart-shaped, with smooth features and prominent cheekbones as well as freckles and a silver stud piercing on her left nostril. Her attire was rather peculiar, it being a white dress shirt under a black pinstripe vest. Along with that was a pair of black pinstriped pants to match her vest and black suede boots with a bow and laces on the front. What made the outfit peculiar was the large traditional witch hat she wore on her head that was black and had a large brim. Along with that was a pair of small caldron like containers attached to her hips by a belt going around her waist.
The only male of the trio was Asian with a head of chestnut coloured hair that was short and fluffy. A pair of bobby pins were attached to the right side of his head to keep it out of his eyes. His right eye (being hazel coloured like his left one) was half-closed which seemed to be due to the nasty scar visible on the eyelid that must have been causing the boy some pain. His attire seemed very formal being a grey three-piece suit, but the jacket was missing. Along with that were a pair of black loafers and black leather gloves with metal studs on the end and open palms.
"Greetings," Leonardo said with a smile. "I'm Leonardo and this here is my edgelord pal Sean."
"Stop calling me that you little shit!" Sean yelled at the smaller boy who just giggled. The taller girl of the two laughed before speaking.
"No offence but everything about you screams 'edgy.' Swearing and brooding like that all the time gives off that kinda feeling to others" She then turned to Leonardo. "Asteria's the name, by the way, a pleasure to be working with you.
"Why is every girl here so damn sassy?" Sean thought as he added another person to his mental list of potential murders. Asteria then turned to her companions.
"The silent one is Hyouka and the girl in the mask is Willow" Asteria introduced. Hyouka gave a simple nod while standing there with his arms folded and Willow gave a cheerful hello to the two boys.
"What the hell is wrong with your face?" Sean grunted to the small masked girl of the group. Willow giggled.
"I'll show you~" With that, she opened the small latch located near her mouth and a stream of fire rocketed out almost hitting Sean. The spider boy leapt back in surprise as did a few applicants who were passing by.
"HOLY SHIT! I'VE SEEN ENOUGH NOW! PLEASE STOP IT!" Sean yelled loudly as Willow closed the hatch, the flames dispersing. Both she and Asteria chuckled as most of the applicants glared at her.
"Oi Flame Bitch! Watch what the fuck you're doing you psycho!" A blonde boy called out angrily. The laughing suddenly died down as Willow glared angrily from behind her mask.
"Try calling me that again Blondie, I fuckin' dare ya!" She yelled with a heavy Irish accent.
"Leave her Gabriel, she's just a psycho like those others" the tall brunette who had been next to the boy said before dragging him away.
"What team are they on?" Willow asked.
"Team Three I think," Sean said, still slightly shaken up over the whole ordeal. He decided it was best to try and not get into any more fights save being humiliated by Leonardo's remarks once more.
"Good. I'm gunning for those two first then" Willow growled. Sean gave her a look before turning back to Asteria.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked, feeling a sense of déjà vu overcome him. Asteria frowned.
"Funny, I feel as if we've met before too" she answered before shrugging. "Whatever, it doesn't matter anyway."
"Ok everyone I have a plan," Leonardo said loudly, attempting to get the group's attention.
"And who put you in charge?" Asteria huffed. In her amusement of watching Willow scare the tother applicants, she had lost her chance to try and enforce herself as the leader. This left her with a sour taste in her mouth as she was unsure about Leonardo. Sean's personality was easy to dissect. An ill-mannered and short tempted edgelord was something she picked up instantly upon first introductions. But due to the distraction, she had missed the chance to try one of her little tests on Leonardo which left him as a wildcard to her. Willow was simply chaotic and Hyouka seemed like a chill guy so he wouldn't be too much of a bother. But Leonardo was a new mystery she desperately wanted to solve now.
"Because darling, I'm the only one fit for the role and the only reason you'll get past this exam" Leonardo answered.
"Piss off" Sean snorted. "You'll ditch us in the first five minutes and jump in only to save your own ass."
"Ah! You fail to see why I won't ditch you!" Leonardo countered. "Since we only get scored by escaping as a team that means I have to help you whether I like it or not."
"He's not even denying that he'd leave us for dead. Does he really care about saving his own skin that much?" Asteria realised. She made a mental note to watch her back through the exam.
"The plan is for Hyouka to try and manipulate the door and Willow can simply incinerate it if he can't" Leonardo. Willow giggled excitedly at the prospect of burning something with her flames. "After that, we stick together and kill everything that walks in front of us. The best way to pass is to try and get two of those red collared criminals as we'll get twenty points by escaping both the prison cell and the prison itself which gives us forty points. After we take out two reds with a combination attack then we'll have one hundred points total." Asteria couldn't really argue with that. It was a decent idea. Sticking close would help ensure they got past as a team relatively quickly.
"Ladies and gentlemen your preparation time is up!" The loud voice of Cynthia suddenly came, blasting through the speakers. All the chatter in the auditorium suddenly ground to a halt as everyone's attention turned back to the school's principal. "Your exam begins now. Good luck and try not to die." There were some murmurs of confusion in the crowd before Sean's danger sense immediately went off. Before his body could react the floor beneath the crowd of applicant's gave way and opened up.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Sean roared as all the prospective students fell into the dark abyss below. Once all of them had disappeared, the trapdoor closed itself and left not a single hint of the applicants being present. Cynthia smiled to herself and walked off the stage in a hurry, hoping to get to the observation before she missed anything juicy.
This was going to be good.
And it begins! Thank you to everyone who applied for the story! There were quite a few good characters and some decisions between them were really hard but congrats to those who were accepted. The list for the accepted class can be found on my profile at the very bottom. For those who weren't accepted, I do apologise but I will be going around and accepting a few leftover characters for class 1-B who will play a large role in the story also. So you may still have a chance to get in.
But the story now begins! The exam has been laid out and the teams gathered. I figured teams would be the best way to showcase everybody in the class. I'm hoping to try and dedicate a chapter for each team and their escapades during the exam.
Anyway, if you liked the chapter then leave a review why. I love hearing all your feedback on this as I want to make it a really fun a chaotic journey. I'll see y'all in the next update with Team 11 as the stars.
