Im really sorry about how short this chapter is, ive had no motivation for this story and just feel like i need to update

As Harry calms, Severus begins to breathe at a more natural pace. Draco is still in his room. He knows that. Potter is calm and no longer panicking. But now he has to talk to him.

Severus is dreading talking to him but it is important so, "Potter?"

"Y-yes professor?"

"We need to talk. What happened?"

"I- I don't know what you're talking about, n-nothing happened," Harry stumbles over his words in his anxiety.

Severus notices and sighs internally, "Potter, it is quite obvious you just had a nightmare. It would far easier on both of us if you were to be honest."

"Why would you care?" He questions rhetorically, slightly confused. "Nobody has ever cared before." He adds, his voice quieter but Severus still hears it.

"Nobody has ever cared about what?"

"About me, the abuse, anything. Hell, when I nearly die every year at school, I'm rushed to the hospital wing, healed and then I just leave. No one actually cares." A tone of self-hatred which had slowly been seeping into his voice is now more obvious.

"Well, Potter, I care. So tell me everything."

And so began the long story of Harry Potter's life, right from the beginning. How he was left on his aunt and uncle's doorstep as a baby to his first potions lesson to how he was treated during summer to what happened in his nightmare. Every small seemingly insignificant detail.

When Harry finishes Severus sits in shock for several long moments. "I apologise for you having to go through all of that alone." He starts eventually.
