(Cut to the Prof. Membrane Labs auditorium)
[Time: Prof. Membrane Labs Keynote]
This was it, after weeks of preparation the Keynote was about to commence!
Prof. Membrane looked over his note cards one more time as everyone moved around the stage doing last minute checks. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am so very proud to announce... the new Peace Day edition Membracelet!" He muttered under his breath.
"You got this." Annabel told him as she put her arms around him from behind.
Prof. Membrane smiled and turned to share a kiss.
"Mom, dad, gross!" Dib only half joked.
"Get a room!" Gaz said, sounding more serious.
Moon and Luna stifled their own laughs.
Gir makes a high pitch squeal that sounds like "LOVE Monkeys!"
Annabel laughs it off as she pulls away, the rebels of the Galactic Alliance were safely tucked away at the HQ and for the first time in a while she felt like she could take a breather. Yes, Tonight was all about Dibson. Mrs. Bitters and Dark Booty had everything under control for the night and with the AIs patrolling both the docks and the outer perimeter of the auditorium she was confident that there was nothing to fear.
She couldn't have been more wrong!
At that very moment the enemy was poised for a simultaneous attack on both locations. Her first step: Take out the AI's! During hers and Keefs attack she had simply snuck past them using a new upgraded version of her stealth tech. This time however, she would need to take them out, for good! Luckily, she had made the perfect weapon for the job. At that very moment two Membrane robots approached the target. Both are carrying a metal box of some sort. The one at the docks marched towards the AIs without hesitation, not even trying to hide, it is seen at once.
"Titan, do you see that?" Sue spoke up.
Titan turns, he sees the robot advancing and Tuff steps forward instinctively.
At the same time the second of the two Membrane robots approaches the AIs patrolling the auditorium.
"Siri! Company!" Klem raises the alarm as Melk goes into attack mode.
Siri sees the danger, but it is too late, before she or Titan can give an order to their groups the two Membrane robots drop their box and as it hits the ground an electromagnetic pulse pulsates, its electric current tears through the AIs and they shut down!
Tak smiles as she appears by the robot closes to the auditorium. Knowing that Present day Tech could be weaken by EMPs. Tak was willing to bet that AIs, being the older model would have the same weakness.
She was Right. "Perfect!" She mused. All the AI were in their sphere, which was standard when they were shut down. Both Membrane robots at both locations begin setting to work on them, and moments later they are back online.
But as Siri emerges from her ball it is obvious something is not right. "AI DAUGHTER Reporting for duty!" She bows to Tak slightly.
"Daughter." Tak says proudly. "My robot has programed you with a list of prisoners, you and your comrades are to transport them to Moo-Ping 10!"
"Understood!" Siri, being the leader of the AIs, relays the message to her siblings.
Titan, Tuff, and Sue now under Tak's control close in on the Swollen Eyeball HQ!
Back in the auditorium Dib and the others have taken their seats as Prof. Membrane begins the Keynote with his opening Speech. Everyone in the audience are wearing their new Membracelet which are in an assortment of different colors.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am so very proud to announce... the new Peace Day edition Membracelet!" said bracelet appears on the jumbo screen for all to see.
Everyone cheers.
Prof. Membrane continues. "As you know, tomorrow is Peace Day, and nobody is as excited for the big celebration as I am."
"I am!" A man shouts.
Prof. Membrane runs to the person in one second, sending other audience members flying. Pointing at the man he shouts. "Not scientifically possible!" He then returns to the stage and continues as if nothing happened.
Annabel giggled.
"Children. We discovered they generate an energy field of limitless, chaotic potential." Prof. Membrane lectured. "We call that child energy "Childergy." The new Membracelet harnesses that Childergy and channels it outward as pure peace and joy."
The crowd oohs in amazement.
"Tomorrow, children will hold hands, encircling the planet in Membracelets to bring about a peace unlike any the world has ever known." Prof. Membrane exclaimed.
Everyone cheered around them.
Dib smiled as he took in the crowd, this was dad's big moment, and he could help but be proud of him. And more importantly he was proud to be his son.
Gaz was feeling a similar feeling as well, this was something that she would never dream of happening. Here she was surrounded by all the people she loved, her family, completely whole again. She grabs Peg's hand, a moment a rare open affection (they had been having a lot of those lately).
Peg smiles and gives her a squeeze.
"We will also have the pleasure of hearing a brand-new song created by my own daughters and their friends!" Prof. Membrane said proudly.
Luna couldn't help but sit straighter as a spotlight fell on her, Moon, Gaz, and Peg. 'Daughters!' She and Moon were part of a family again. It was bittersweet, not knowing what had really happened all those years ago. While her father's death was confirmed by Annabel and Lard Nar, her mother's fate was still mostly unknown.
However, from what Zim's computer brain showed her, it was safe to assume the worse. She remembered her mother's last words She just knew that she must be with the Goddess now, watching over them.
Moon smiled as everyone cheered around her, she looked hopeful, no longer the shy, fragile shell she once was.
Yes, everything was perfect, surely nothing could go wrong. That is until all the lights went out.
'What the?' Dib gets to his feet and flinches as he hears a scuffled, and a yelp. "mom?" He asked.
"Peg!" Gaz yells, Peg's hand was jerked from hers and now she couldn't find her.
"Gaz? Luna!" Dib tries to reach for Luna but feels nothing. SHE IS GONE!
Suddenly the Jumbo screen switch back on, revealing the Irken insignia.
Oh, no.
Dib looks around franticly, taking advantage of the little light, but only he and Gaz remain. Even Gir who was disguised as a puppy at the time was nowhere in sight. "Gaz what's happening?"
Tak emerges into the light, wearing her Human Kat disguise. The lights flicker back on.
"Greetings, fellow humans." Tak says.
"Tak? Wait, what? Where's dad?" Dib suddenly noticed his father is gone as well.
"Dib they're all gone!" Gaz said, she was looking at her phone as she spoke.
"I know Gaz I can see that."
"No Look!" She turns her phone around for him to see.
It's the security footage from back at the Swollen Eyeball HQ, she must have installed a connection to her phone. The screen switches showing video feed of several rooms, and she was right, each room was in a disarray and everyone, all the agents and their alien allies were GONE!
"She's taken them!" Dib exclaimed.
"Do not be alarmed everyone." Tak said. "I am Prof. Katherine the new owner of Membrane Labs!"
The hell she was! Dib marched up to the stage blind by rage with Gaz hot on his heels.
"Don't listen to her, she's an-" Dib's Membracelet suddenly extended; restraints encase his hands as a holographic mouth appears over his real one, which was now gagged.
Beside him, Gaz is restrained in the same way.
They both dance and speak against their will. "Prof. Katherine is so cool. We should all do everything she says, no matter how evil it sounds."
The crowd shrugs and cheers on the newcomer.
"Yes, Be joyous, you fools. And be sure to receive a final last-minute upgrade to your bracelet before you leave." She adds as the crowd cheers some more.
Tak smiles wickedly, her plan had gone off without a hitch and come tomorrow the world leaders and the planet would be hers.
"Get ready for the most peaceful Peace Day your grotesque eyeballs have ever seen!"
The crowd goes out of control as Tak laughs and then Dib sways, he looks at Gaz, who he can see is having similar trouble.
"Dib...what's happening-" She doesn't finish before their world goes dark.
(Back with Dib…)
[The Next Day: Peace Day!]
Horror...
Dib could feel it like an all-consuming plague; everyone he loved ripped away from him forever.
He felt so alone it was suffocating.
"NO!" Dib strung right up in his bed and looked around confused. "I'm in bed?" Did that mean? "Oh, please say that was just a horrible nightmare."
"Dib, Son, breakfast."
He knew that voice, it was his dad!
"Yes! Yes! Yes, yes!" Dib launches himself out of bed; relief flooding him. He sprints down the stairs. "Good morning, Da... Oh, no!" He stops dead in his tracks and for good reason.
The thing before him had similar features of his dad but mixed with a fish. That was also, having an allergic reaction to radioactive bees!
Happy Peace Day, son! You is grounded forever." The Fish Membrane said. "Breakfast is the most science-y meal of da day. Doop, doop, doop, doop, doop, do Pudding." He said stirring pudding.
Dib looks around in a daze of confusion and notices Gaz sitting at the table. Of course, he remembers the creature from the future, he was supposed to be a clone of their dad. However, his name escaped him. He was just so stressed out at this point; his mind was having a hard time coping. "Gaz?" For a moment he fears it will be a scary version of her too, but she was very much herself.
Gaz gestures for him to sit beside her, with a jerk of her head.
"Eh, something the matter, honey?" The Fish Membrane asked her, looking genuinely concern. He serves them both a scoop of pudding as he spoke.
"Nah, it's cool, Dad." Gaz told him as she began to poke a spoon at her large serving of the goop.
"How can you be so calm?" Dib whispered, "And that thing isn't Dad." He pointed out the obvious.
"I know that." She whispered back harshly. "But trust me, don't go there."
"And why not?" Dib asked.
"Because I already went through it and believe me, it's not pretty." Gaz warned taking a spoonful of pudding and eating it. "He spazzes out and throws a tantrum until you take it back, it's so annoying." She looks to the Fish Membrane who is just staring at them. "Great breakfast, Dad." She told him with such enthusiasm, it was somewhat believable.
"Is it really good?" Dib asked hopefully as his stomach growled.
"It's the worst pudding I've ever had in my life." Gaz revealed as she tried to hid her retching.
"Thanks, honey. It's not easy taking care of two kids on my own... It's so rewarding." The Fish Membrane said happily.
Dib pushed his bowl away. "Uh I'm not hungry... dad." He said.
"That's alright." The Fish Membrane told him as he picked up the bowls from the table. "I know your too excited for today. I know I am!" He exclaimed.
"We need to get out of here." Dib whispered to his sister. "We have to find the others."
"I know, but Clembrane's fast." Gaz whispered back.
"Clembrane?" Dib asked.
"He's obviously a clone of dad." Gaz explained. "I'll be it, a very bad one. Obviously, a rushed job on Tak's part."
"Clone, membrane." Dib said, that was right, he remembered now. Though he had to admit he never thought Gaz would name a stray clone, much less adopt it. He pauses as he realizes. "You tried escaping without me!"
"Yes Dib, I couldn't wait for you to wake up, not when Tak has Peg who knows where!" Gaz looked almost rabid.
"Whoa sis, I get it." Dib assured her. "It's just, usually I'm the impulsive one. Running into danger without thinking things through or planning ahead. You're usually so levelheaded."
Gaz takes a breath and centers herself; Dib was right of course. However, knowing Peg was in inmate danger made her lose all sense of reasoning. "Let's just focus on the now, Dib. Every move I made; he was there to stop me." She explained. "He is very fast and stronger than any being I have ever seen."
"Remember, kids, I'm here for you if you ever need to talk about stuff... Stay in school. Brush your teeth." Clembrane shouted randomly.
"That's good advice, Dad."
"Yeah, thanks." Dib said, full of sarcasm.
Suddenly the TV begins to talk about Peace Day and Clembrane rushes to the Livingroom. Dragging Dib and Gaz along with him like they were nothing but ragdolls. "Ooh, it's time for Peace Day now!"
Dib oofs as they are squashed together on the couch. "I see what you mean." He admitted.
"Told you." Gaz growled before they looked to the TV.
"If you're just tuning in to our Peace Day coverage," The announcer said. "You're watching Katherine, the new head of Prof. Membrane Labs, personally overseeing today's events. Excitement fills the air as the arrival of the world's leaders gets ever closer still!"
"People of Earth!" Tak exclaims. "In near moments leaders from around the world will come together and our first annual Peace Day will begin!"
The crowd cheers wildly.
"Yes, rejoice as we celebrate this historical day. You woman tell us how you love your new Membracelet!" Tak declared.
A woman smiles as she shows the new bracelet that now had a strange slimy creature on it. "I love it! It's a lot more alive than I expected, though." She admitted.
"Indeed, it is!" Tak agreed.
Suddenly a large, long limo pulls up and out stand the most important and powerful people of the planet. The world leaders, including Mr. President Man himself!
"Welcome, our gracious and amazing world leaders!" Tak announced.
A Membrane robot passes out some Membracelets to the new arrivals; who put them on at once.
Dib squirmed as an evil smile slipped on Tak's face!
"Excellent! Now the ceremony can truly begin!"
Dib watched in horror as the Membracelets changed into similar restraints to the ones he and Gaz had been in last night. Only their faces were not yet gagged.
"I say what is the meaning of this?" Mr. President Man shouted.
"Kneel!" Tak ordered, and the new restraints forced them all to their knees.
Dib looks down at his own wrist and notices his own Membracelet was gone and for that he was grateful.
"I think she wants us like this." Gaz said noticing his actions, she too was without a bracelet. "I think she wants us to try and stop her."
"She's too cocky, so sure of her victory, we can use that to our advantage." Dib whispered back.
"How? The whole world just became her slaves! They have to obey whether they want to or not." Gaz pointed out.
"She's making us watch on purpose." Dib reminded her. "By cutting us off we feel alone and helpless. She wants us to feel powerless to stop her."
"Well, it's working." Gaz admitted sorrowfully.
"Hang in there Gaz." Dib whispered. "Our chance will come; we just have to wait for the moment to present itself."
Gaz nodded looking more determined now. Dib was right, they couldn't give up. The ones they loved were missing and the world was in danger. Right now, they were the only two that could stop Tak, but could they stop her without Zim or Gir having their backs?
Dib was thinking the same thing, he really wished Zim was hear right now.
Tak laughed in wicked glee as her human disguise phased away and she stood before her captives as her true Irken self.
"Your ad Alien!" Mr. President Man gasped.
Other world leaders spoke as well, but in their panic state they mostly spoke in their native language.
However, Dib got the gist of the fear that engulfed them all.
"Yes, and you are now property of the Irken Empire!" Tak declared. "Rise fools!" She voiced. "Rise and take your neighbors hand."
Dib suddenly stood, not because of the order, but because he realized something. "Wait a minute. That yard looks familiar. Is that...?" He runs to the window, and Yes, it is! Tak was on his lawn! She was taking over the world in his front yard. Talk about rubbing a victory in your enemy's face. Still, he refused to give in. "Tak! Get off my lawn!"
"Oh, Dib thing." Tak smiled. "I was hoping you'd be awake to see this." She admitted. "How do you like it? Does it fill your belly with woe and despair?"
"Tak stop this!" Dib begged. "I know this isn't you." He said thinking of the future Tak. She stood by them as a comrade, a fellow rebel! Surely, there was a way to get through to her.
"Stupid Dib, your weak defective words may have swayed Zim, but I am no fool!" Tak scoffed.
"Yes, you are." Dib yelled. "The Tallest will never accept you; they'll never welcome you in the collective."
"Yes, they will." Tak hissed in defiance. "You'll see. I'm about to deliver your pathetic planet right to the Tallest." She mused as the humans under her control continued to take each other's hands.
"You won't get away with this!" Dib yelled.
"Why? Are you going to stop me? Or do you think your precious Zim will come to your rescue?" Tak teased.
Dib could feel the dread seeping in. She was right, they could do nothing but watch and Zim was not here to even the playing field.
Dib suddenly appears on the news, his head five times bigger than it should be.
Gaz's eyes widen as she points to the TV. "Dib, check out how huge your head looks on TV!"
"Seriously?" Dib yelled at her in defiance. What was with people and his head!
"I'm here for you, buddy. Come here." Clembrane hugs him.
Meanwhile all around the world the human slaves join hands against their will, their progress showing on the TV for Dib and Gaz to see.
"It's working! It's working!" Tak exclaimed with glee.
"We have to stop her." Dib struggled to get free from Clembrane's embrace.
Gaz tries to dive for the door, but Clembrane scoops her up too. They struggle, but it's no use!
Meanwhile, the progress displayed on the TV gets closer and closer to 100 percent until it reaches completion and...
Nothing happened.
"Ha!" Dib jeered still yelling at Tak through the window. "Nothing happened, Tak!"
"Of course, nothing happened, human." Tak mused. "It's not enough to simply attach a space-phasing alien horror blob to these bracelets."
"Space...phasing?" Gaz echoed with a sense of dread.
"Oh no..." Dib gulped.
"No, you'd also need something with the power to harness the dark energy of space to activate them." Tak went on. "Which was once an impossible feet, until now! Only one being in the known universe has such a power. My amazing, Mimi."
Suddenly the human slaves were engulfed by a field of energy as they began to float inches above the ground. All over the world, this happened until...
"Behold my victory!" Tak exclaimed as the sky suddenly flew by at lightning speed, stopping to reveal the horrid truth. The planet had ben teleported to a whole new part of space!
Unnamed exo-planets loomed all around them in this strange alien universe.
"Tak! What have you done!" Dib screamed.
Tak suddenly barges into the membrane home at lightning speed "I've teleported the Earth to a part of space directly in the path of the Irken Armada." She explained.
Dib and Gaz struggle to tackle her but, they are still firmly in Clembrane's grasp.
"You see during my brief reunion with the collective." Tak explained, no doubt referring to the time when the Tallest gave her a "FAKE" chance to steal the planet from Zim. "I was given access to the Tallest's flight path. You see, Earth is currently the last stop on their list of Conquest, due to its distance away from Irk. Closer planets take priority; however, I couldn't wait for them to show up in three years or so." She went on. "Not when Zim could return at any second. Not when you humans may think of a clever plan if given the time."
"This won't work Tak." Dib tried to reason with her. "The Tallest will never accept you."
"I WILL WIN THEIR FAVOR!" Tak screamed. "Once they see-"
"Tak, they will never see." Gaz suddenly yelled. "They don't care that you're not a defect. They hate you, plain and simple." She said as if it was obvious. And it was after all she, Dib, and the others overhead the order: Zim was to eliminate Tak once and for all.
They even set her up to be blamed for everything that was going wrong for Zim's mission, but Tak would hear none of it.
"Silence, You have wasted enough of my time." Tak hissed. "Besides if I was you, I'd be less worried about this planet and more worried about myself. Once the Tallest arrive I will get the pleasure of watching you die at their hands." She chuckled. "And as for your family and friends-"
"What have you done to them?!" Gaz screamed.
"I reprogramed the AIs to transport them to the Irken maximum prison. Moo-ping 10!" She bragged. "And unlike Dirt, it is unescapable!"
No! Dib felt like he was spinning out of control. His family and Friends were in space prison! Probably light years away from Earth's current location!
Suddenly, the Earth shook as the sky seemed to tear open above them.
And somehow Dib just knew that everything had suddenly got a hell of a lot worse.
The Earth continued to shake as the tear in the sky got impossibly bigger.
The people, who were still stuck holding hands outside screamed in horror.
Clembrane actually dropped Dib and Gaz in his own surprise.
Dib wastes no time, he runs out the door, Tak and Gaz are hot on his heels, and Clembrane follows close behind. "Is that part of your brilliant plan, Tak?" Dib couldn't help but taunt.
Tak looks somewhat concern. "Mimi!"
Mimi appears out of nowhere, making Dib flinch, despite himself.
"Explain this mess!"
"Master a large Florpus Hole was created due to the massive size of the planet being teleported at light-year speed." Mimi reported coldly.
"This is your fault, Mimi!" Tak growled angrily. "I told you to be careful, now the planet could be destroyed!"
Dib couldn't help but smile. "I bet the Tallest wouldn't like that."
Tak walks up to him and slaps him hard across his face.
Dib falls to his knees as he sees stars.
"Hey, be careful of him." Clembrane picks up Dib, like a mother would a helpless infant. Holding him close to his chest. "You're gonna hurt him."
"Shut up and do your job!" Tak ordered. "Take that pest and his rat of a sister inside."
"What did you just call me?" Gaz growled.
"Not now Honey." Clembrane grabbed Gaz's hand and led her back inside.
Meanwhile, Tak kicks at the dirt, the Tallest would be here any minute and when they saw their prize planet in the grips of danger. No, she could fix this! Once the Tallest arrived she would teleport the planet back. Now that she knew it could happen, she would adjust the jump, so a new Florpus didn't appear in Earth's solar system.
"Mimi when will the Tallest arrive?" She asked.
"24 hours." Mimi reported.
"And the Florpus? How long do we have before it swallows the planet?"
"26 hours maybe." Mimi reported.
"It's close." She admits. "But doable." She looks around at the human slaves. "All of you get to work, get this place ready. We have Some Tall Company."
Yes, she could do this, soon her Tallest would see her true value. This would work, It had to!
(Back on The Massive)
[Location: Deep Space]
"My Tallest?" A Comms Officer speaks up from his controls.
"What is it?" Red asked looking somewhat hopeful. Zim had not yet answered any of their attempts to call. Days had gone by since his Announcement as the new Taller and they were beginning to worry.
"Is it Zim?" Purple asked.
"No Sirs." The Comms Officer said in equal disappointment. "A terrifying, deadly space anomaly is a few hours journey ahead."
"Oh well we can always go around." Red said, looking disappointed.
"But we're going straight!" Purple complained, he hated detours. It was already bad enough that they were forced to continue their Tallest duties when there newly announced Successor was missing. Now, he had to endure a week's or two journey to avoid this sudden danger.
"SIRS!" another officer interrupted.
"What now?" Red growled.
"It's the Earth, Its relocated, it's now directly Infront of us as well."
"No!" Purple looks panic.
"Please tell me it's out of the path of this dangerous space anomaly." Red said, hopefully.
"No, my Tallest, it is directly in its path." The officer reported gravely.
"Brilliant!" Red threw his hands up in disbelief. "Just great, our prize planet, wasted."
"How did it even get out here in the first place?" Purple argued.
"Sirs if I may." Another officer spoke.
The Tallest looked to the third comms officer. "Yes?"
"If we hurry, we can arrive to Earth in hopefully enough time to fix this." The officer explained.
"Go on." Purple urged.
"Surely something moved the Earth out here, it's unlikely it was done naturally. If we arrive before this dangerous anomaly causes any real damage. We can figure out how the planet got out here and possibly use the same means to send it back."
"Yes, do that!" Purple ordered.
The officers worked quickly at their controls, sending the H-drive into overdrive, picking up their speed throw hyperspace.
"What I don't get is how this happened." Red looks puzzled. "What could have done this?"
"Perhaps, 'what' is the wrong question..." Purple suddenly suggested. "Thank about it, Zim is nowhere to be found. And now we know he never returned to Earth, if he had this would have never happened."
Red's eyes widen as he realizes what Purple is getting at. "TAK! Zim warned us he had yet to find her body! That ingrate! She's put everything we've worked for at risk and now Zim maybe..."
"She'll pay for this!" Purple vowed.
"Yes." Red agreed. "We will avenge Zim and salvage the planet!"
And with those thoughts fresh on their mind, they moved closer still to planet Earth.
