Alcide's apartment.
Sookie bandage Alcide up. Maria make him some hot tea.
"Don't take it personally. The werewolf you were fighting had vampire blood in him. Bill's, in fact, so I know it's strong." Sookie said
"Werewolves doing V? Goes against everything we stand for. The rest of the pack into that shit?" Alcide said
"The ones who took Bill, at least." Sookie said
Maria gives Alcide his tea.
"Thanks." Alcide thanking Maria
"I drank vampire blood before when I wasn't healing right." Maria said
"Part of you is human. Like I need more reasons to hate them. Ow!" Alcide said
"Sorry. Is Debbie your ex-girlfriend?" Sookie asked Alcide
"She's my fiancée. She moved out a month ago." Alcide said
"A month?" Sookie asked in confusion
"Shocker." Maria said
"And you still haven't got new furniture?" Sookie asked Alcide
"I don't have time for it." Alcide said
"You ever hear from her?" Maria asked Alcide
"My sister, Janice, does. She runs a beauty parlor. Debbie still goes in to get her hair done up." Alcide said
Sookie's phone rings.
"Hello? Hello? Bill? Are you hurt? I know the werewolves have you. Shut the fuck up. The last time I saw you, you asked me to marry you. You have to say that. Bill. (Sookie started to cry.) That's not true. I don't believe you." Sookie said
Bill hangs up. Sookie almost dropped on the floor and her sister catches when she was still crying. She helped her to the bed.
"What does he mean, he doesn't wanna be found?" Sookie asked in confusion
"It's gonna be ok." Maria said
"It means he doesn't wanna see you anymore." Alcide said
"You're not helping here, Alcide." Maria said
"Let's think. What did he say?" Alcide asked Sookie
"I don't know what he said. I just know that isn't the man I love." Sookie said
"Well, maybe the man you love never existed except in your head." Alcide said
"Still not helping." Maria said
"All I'm saying. No matter how well you think you know somebody, they can still turn around and kick you right in the nut sac." Alcide said
"Me and Sookie don't have a nut sac." Maria said
"Bill...he's risked everything for me. Our love is way bigger than him breaking up with me over the phone." Sookie said
"Eric would never hurt me. We have something special." Maria said
"How many relationships you girls been in?" Alcide asked Stackhouse sisters
"Why exactly?" Maria asked Alcide
"Well, all I'm saying is there's no nice way of getting out of these things." Alcide said
Sookie put her head on Alcide's shoulder.
Next day.
Kitchen.
"The Vampire Rights Amendment's impending passing has left many up in arms, but perhaps none so much..." Radio announcing
"What time you wanna head back to Bon Temps? Since you're not looking for that asshole anymore." Alcide said
"Oh, I still plan on finding him." Sookie said
"Okay, doormat." Alcide said
"I'm not a doormat. I just want him to say it to my face." Sookie said
"If it was me. I would be in the same situation." Maria said
"He's in trouble. Maybe I'm wrong, but if he can look me in the eye and tell me it's over, then I'll leave him here to rot." Sookie said
"Just let it go, move on." Alcide said
"Says the man cooking breakfast in a wok because he's too sad to buy a new frying pan." Maria said
"I need more information. I need to go to that engagement party tonight." Sookie said
"No fucking way. I paid my debt to Eric Northman." Alcide said
"He didn't do anything to hurt you." Maria said
"You're still hurting over Debbie. Seeing her with those creeps might help you get over her." Sookie said
"Are you insane? Either of us showing up after last night is just asking to get our asses kicked." Alcide said
"He's gotta point. (Sookie looked at her sister in confusion.) I'll stay out of the way. I'll be on that roof." Maria said
"Maria?" Sookie said
"They smell me. Don't worry. Your plan will work tonight. I'll be close by. But you need a different style." Maria said
"Janice." Alcide said
After while Alcide was out. His sister Janice came by.
"You must be Janice." Sookie said
"Let me get this straight. You're Maria the weretiger and you're Sookie Stackhouse the human?" Janice asked the Stackhouse sisters
"I like her already." Maria said
"Thank you, Jesus. I'd have settled one of you for a two-bit hooker to get my brother's mind off that bitch Debbie Pelt. Cute and sweet." Janice said
"Thanks for coming over." Sookie said
"When you called, I was checking my horoscope. Do you know what it said? "Things are looking up for somebody close to you." Nailed it." Janice said
"Either of us are not into him that way. We're working with him." Maria said
"Someone I care about has gone missing, and Alcide has inside information about the folks I think have him. Maria suggested that I look the part." Sookie said
"Well, that is my specialty. How deep do you wanna go?" Janice asked Sookie
"I wanna look like I could kick some serious ass. Which I can." Sookie said
Janice opened her temporary tattoo book.
"All right, let's pick out some temporary tattoos." Janice said
"He's still hung up on his ex." Sookie said
"Finding out about her engagement party tonight did not help matters." Maria said
"Yeah, right, engagement party." Janice said
"What?" Sookie said
"Oh. No, right. That's right, engagement party. (Sookie reads Janice's thoughts.) How did Al find out about it?" Janice asked Sookie
"Hollis told him last night at Lou Pine's. (Sookie kept reading Janice's mind.) But if Alcide still loves Debbie don't you think he should go and try to talk her out of it?" Sookie asked Janice
"No, he should not. My psychic told him if he stayed with her, he would get himself killed. Did he listen? No. She ended up dumping his ass." Janice said
"Why'd he stay with her so long?" Maria asked Janice
"She was his first love, he never met anybody so alive, all that shit. But how many bullets are you gonna take for somebody? How many bad things gotta happen to you and the ones you love before you realize feeling alive ain't enough? I am just glad he made it out alive." Janice said
"True." Maria said
2 hours now.
"Wow. I guess my sister took to you." Alcide said
"Debbie's getting initiated into Coot's pack." Maria said
"She's addicted to V." Sookie said
"Shut the fucking door." Alcide said
"It's true. I was poking around in Janice's brain. She didn't tell you because she's trying to protect you." Sookie said
"Protect me?" Alcide asked in confusion
"We know you care about Debbie." Sookie said
"No matter what she did to you. You'd wanna know if she were in danger." Maria said
"She's gonna let those fucking mongrels brand her. V's the only reason. It's gotta be." Alcide said
"Maybe it's not too late for you to get through to her. Stop her from ruining her life." Maria said
"Fuck!" Alcide said
"That mean you're coming with us?" Sookie asked Alcide
"Fine. We're gonna have to go in separate, though." Alcide said
"They already smelled me. As I told Sookie and you I'm going to the rooftop. Tonight I'll text and sees who shows up." Maria said
"Ok then. Sookie you might be able to fool some of them with that get up. They're just gonna beat the shit out of me, again." Alcide said
Nighttime.
Lou Pine's.
"Could a rooftop be so boring? (Maria smell something and she see someone goes inside Lou Pine's. She texted Alcide and her sister.) Rich man. Leather jacket. Dark hair. Vampire." Maria done texting
