Alcide's car.
"Explain to be me what the fuck just happened back there?" Maria asked both Alcide and her sister
"They were all shifting. You almost shifted." Sookie said
"Couldn't help it. When that energy starts rolling, it takes you over. We're lucky we got out of there alive. Fuck!" Alcide said
"It was terrible." Sookie said
Alcide speeding.
"If you don't slow down, you're gonna get us killed." Maria said
"Me and Maria are not gonna die because of your shitty girlfriend and a Mississippi pothole! (Alcide stopped the truck.) I had to be mean to make you listen. I'm sorry." Sookie apologize to Alcide
Alcide was calm.
"She wasn't always shitty. We were great together. When she wasn't drinking or cheating. She used to play horseshoes with my dad, help my mom plant tomatoes." Alcide said
"But tonight she was half-naked in a wolf skin, getting branded." Sookie said
"Who was he? That vampire?" Maria asked Alcide
"Russell Edgington. He's just some rich vampire. That's all I knew till tonight." Alcide said
"I gotta talk to him." Sookie said
"No." Maria said
"Maria I'm the oldest." Sookie said
"First, Jason is the oldest out of two of us. Second, you're human. Third I'm a weretiger. I'm supposed to be protecting you instead." Maria said
"You ain't going near Russell, Sookie." Alcide said
Alcide apartment.
Alcide and Debbie are arguing in the living room. Sookie woke up on the bed. Maria woke up on the chair.
"What the hell?" Maria said
"Keep it down." Alcide said
"Don't tell me to keep it down! Because I don't give a shit about the neighbors!" Debbie said
"Come on." Sookie said
They get up and open the door and enter the living room.
"They are your neighbors? Oh, hell, no." Debbie said
"They've got nothing to do with this." Alcide said
Debbie smelled Maria.
"A weretiger. Why is there a cat in my fucking home? Either of you fucking my wolf?" Debbie asked Stackhouse sisters
Sookie reads Debbie's mind.
"Like you did with Coot and Roy and Bobby and Travis." Sookie said
Sookie stopped reading Debbie's mind.
"What'd you say to me, whore?" Debbie asked Sookie
Alcide holds Debbie as she was about to attack Sookie. Maria eyes turned green cat eyes and her nails turned into claws.
"I'm still strong enough to throw you out, blood or no blood." Alcide said
"You traded this good person who loves you for a shot of V, that burn on your back, and a dumb biker who's half the man and half the wolf that Alcide is." Sookie said
"I will fuck you up!" Debbie said
"Try it and I will end you." Maria said
"Where is Bill Compton?" Sookie asked Debbie
Sookie reads Debbie's mind.
Afternoon.
Sookie hearing Alcides thoughts.
"Gonna run errands. Won't take long." Alcide said
"You're going to your packmaster?" Sookie asked Alcide
Alcide freaked out.
"Goddamn it." Alcide said
"I gotta do what I gotta do." Sookie said
"This is wolf business." Alcide said
"Against all laws to tell anybody anything? I've heard that before." Maria said
"I've been listening to dark, private thoughts since I was a little girl." Sookie said
"You two are not coming with me." Alcide said
"Then I'll have to dig it out of your head, and I really don't like to do that." Sookie said
"Don't tell me what a packmaster is. An alpha makes the big decisions, keeps the rest in line. How much does your packmaster know about last night?" Maria asked Alcide
"That's what I have to find out. Then he'll tell us what to do." Alcide said
"We're coming with you." Maria said
"I am not breaking anymore rules." Alcide said
"Then Sookie comes with you. A cat can't be trusted." Maria said
Alcide sighs.
"Come on." Alcide said
Sookie, her sister, and Alcide are talking to the alpha Colonel Flood.
"Colonel Flood, if these were ordinary wolf junkies scoring on the street, I wouldn't be here, but they're organized and drinking from the source. Sookie was there. She can back me up." Alcide said
"You'll be disciplined for exposing us to a human, Alcide. Or associating with a tiger." Flood said
"Yes, sir." Alcide said
"It wasn't his fault." Maria said
"We only wanted to tell you what we saw." Sookie said
"I already know all about it." Flood said
"Is there anything that you could do?" Maria asked Flood
"Whatever it is, I support you, sir, a hundred percent." Alcide said
"Do nothing, tell no one." Flood said
"Bullshit." Maria said
"How's that help the pack?" Alcide asked in confusion
"What about Russell Edgington?" Maria asked Flood
"There's nothing I can do about him. He's the goddamn vampire king of Mississippi." Flood said
"Bill." Sookie said
"Colonel Flood, that gang is recruiting. We can't just sit back and let some fanger pick us off one by one." Alcide said
"Edgington is ancient. He's had a pack of wolves serving him for centuries all over the world. Now he's on our doorstep. We gonna be smart. Let him do what he wants to do until he goes away." Flood said
Flood gets in his truck.
"If he's part of our history, you should have told us about him." Alcide said
"I am saving us from extinction." Flood said
"I'd rather be extinct than slave to a dead man." Alcide said
Sookie reads Flood's mind.
"Don't question your packmaster, boy." Flood said
"Colonel Flood, we gotta do something." Alcide said
Flood drove off.
"Let him go. He can't help. He's afraid." Sookie said
"Bullshit." Alcide said
"It wasn't bullshit." Sookie said
"I know." Alcide said
Nighttime.
Alcide's apartment.
Living room.
Alcide and Maria smelled vampire.
"I know that smell. (Maria opened the door and saw Bill.) That's Bill. Invite him in." Maria said
"Come in." Alcide said
Bill comes in the room. Maria shuts the door.
"Sookie?" Maria said
Sookie comes in the room.
"Bill. Bill." Sookie said
Sookie hugged Bill. He let her go. He feels guilty.
"Sookie...You have to go now." Bill said
"Is that all you have to say to me?" Sookie asked Bill
"There's no time. Maria? Wolfman? You two must take her away." Bill said
"Wherever I'm going, you're coming too." Sookie said
"It's too late. There's no hope for me. Please, get her out of Jackson as fast as you can." Bill said
Maria and Alcide smell something off.
"I believe him Sookie." Maria said
"We have to go." Alcide said
"Oh shit. They're here." Maria said
Coot, a vampire, and Russell were there. Bill fights a werewolf.
"Come on in. (Coot angrily kicks Alcide in the groin.) That's for Debbie, fucker." Coot said
Maria blocked Sookie.
"Grab the girl, you imbecile. I'll take little miss weretiger here." Russell said
"Over my cold dead hands. Sookie get out of here." Maria said
Maria turned into her tiger form. She roars.
"Here kitty, kitty." Russell said
Russell picking on Maria said. She started attacking but he was stronger then she was. He put her in a choke hold. He punched her and put her asleep.
