Sequel to It's A Hard Life! Dante & Nero are finally back from their trip Hell after the final battle at the end of It's A Hard Life, however something seems a little different about them... Meanwhile Vergil and Lady work way too hard to try and hide their relationship from the two most oblivious (or are they?) people they know.

Dante and Vergil put aside their differences to raise Nero. Between trying to keep the lights on in the shop and being a single father and a grossly inexperienced uncle, to a quarter demon baby, even the devil may cry... OR an alternate universe in which Vergil isn't a deadbeat dad

With the way DmC ended, it is obvious there is still a story, a big one to be told, but yet might never see the light of day, this is how I think a sequel could work, set 6 years after the original game.

It was supposed to be an easy mission, a way to break up the boredom of the day rather than a challenge. Instead it became an adventure and a search for a lost identity. The teen sat up slowly, rubbing an aching head. What was he doing here? How did he get here? Why couldn't he remember anything?

"Well lemme jog your memory. A little Vergil... crying in the corner because mommy got mad?" "I seem to recall YOU crying every time father raised his voice." Some Eva and little Vergil bonding because dammit Vergil deserves some love

Lady discovers that Vergil is injured after a fight and convinces him to let her help. As Lady offers her assistance, Vergil comes to realise that maybe getting injured isn't such a bad thing after all...

At that moment, she wanted to know what lived inside him. If they were preyed upon by the same evil thoughts lurking within themselves. She wanted just a glimpse into his mind, to know whether they dreamed of the same chaos that was to come. If it really was a sign of what was yet to happen. Would their world truly end in ruin and disarray?

Vergil did not fall. Dragged back from the edge of the abyss by his brother, he left to wander the world and learn more about humanity, his road eventually leading him back to Fortuna where he met a most peculiar boy. And now they need a place to stay.

Vergil who has split himself in two finds his human self being accompanied by a strange fox who willingly offers her help despite knowing what he is and what crimes are. Will V be able to restore himself before time runs out? Or will Urizen succeed in his goal?

Vergil has been poisoned and it's up to a human woman to heal him. Through the journey, the two end up learning about themselves and each other. (Post DMC5. Vergil/OC. I want to dig into Vergil's character now that his mind has been cleared of the nightmares and he's more accepting of his humanity. Just for fun.)

Vergil wants to find Santa Claus in order to harness Santa's power. Dante and the others can't let that happen. No seriously.

A Christmas delivery does not go as expected, Vergil unwillingly lends a hand.

It has been a month since the sons of Sparda left the Human World to sever the Qlipoth from the other side. While they might conceivably return on their own, Lady sees no need to wait.

After acquiring all the devil arms Dante meets Vergil atop of an old castle, and the final battle commences.

Vergil first sees her the spring of his eighteenth year; the winter snow falls in mournful drifts the day he leaves. And even now, twenty-three years after her death, a part of him mourns for her still. In which Vergil is hit with hallucinatory demon venom on the twenty-third anniversary of his lover's death, and finds his aching memory of her embodied at last.

Takes place during DMC anime: "Now is the time, I must take her spirit." Angela has suffered a strange transformation days after her father's death. Dante is hired to find out what's going on with her but it may be more than he bargained for especially when a demon wants Angela's soul, what's so special about her? Does her unknown lineage have something to do with this?

"Well I'll Be Damned" - that achievement you get if you defeat Urizen in the prologue. What if that's what happened? Updated with what I realized from chapter 4: Consider this a fic about Vergil, without Vergil (really?), featuring Vergil's brother, Vergil's son and Vergil's human persona. XD
