'Dad, what happened to you? I remember you being strong-willed and passionate, seeing you like this is killing me.' said Bill.
'When I married your mother, I was already betrothed to another. Her name was Charlotte Jones; she was a half-blood from the Isle of Wight, she was homeschooled as part of an ancient coven from the island called the Vectis. It wasn't until her N.E.W.T year that she came to school; we called her a "daisy" because she always floo'd home at the end of the day.' Said, Arthur
Arthur leant against the wall, took a deep breath 'The Weasley family was always magically strong, and some of the women from our family had in the past been members of the coven. We had known each of since we were children, so there was a natural affinity between us; I guess you would say that we complemented each other, kind of like Harry and Hermione. To cut a long story short, your grandfather arranged for Charlotte and me to marry when we left school.'
'So what happened?' asked Bill
'You've heard the love potion story?' asked Arthur, Bill nodded
'That's what happened. Neither Charlotte or I knew about the betrothal, your mum had quite the fixation on me, and with the help of others, she chased me and when I showed no interest in anything more than friendship she slipped me the love potion.' Explained Arthur
'When it wore off why didn't you and Charlotte get married?' asked Bill
'The betrothal demanded that both parties be "pure" before the union, and you were born exactly nine months after the potion was administered.' Arthur signed and rubbed his face.
Bill sank to the floor in shock, everything he had ever known fell to dust before his eyes.
'What kind of a man would I have been if I hadn't married your mother?' explained Arthur.
Arthur sat on the floor next to his son and took hold of his hand,
'Son, I have always loved you and been fiercely proud of everything that you have achieved, and I am just as proud to call you my son and my friend.' said Arthur.
'What happened to Charlotte?' asked Bill
'She was devastated; she didn't speak to me for the best part of the year. It wasn't until Director Bones spoke to her on my behalf that she consented to be in my presence for more than five minutes. I explained what had happened and how it had happened. Your mother was particularly pleased with herself that she had snatched a wizard from under the nose of an "unworthy strumpet and her heathen ways" as she told everyone. We remained friends until she passed away a few years ago. She never married, and because she stayed pure, she became the high priestess of the coven.' said Arthur.
'I take it there were more potions over the years?' asked Bill
'Until Lily Evans saved me.' smiled Arthur
'How do you mean?' asked Bill
'We were in the original order of the Phoenix together; she was just prodigious at potions as Snape and equally as talented at Charms. She saw the telltale signs of overexposure to certain potions ingredients and brewed me a flushing draught. I was furious with Molly for what she had been doing. Lily gave me a small amulet that protected me from everything but the strongest of doses of the potions that Molly had been giving me. That was until about six years ago when the enchantment on the amulet died. I've built up a tolerance to the potions, but it gets so tiring constantly fighting. I can't fight any more Bill.' said Arthur.
Bill saw how oppressed and defeated his father had become, that once bright spark of defiance his father had in his eyes had grown dull over the years. Bill took a breath and steeled his resolve. He wasn't doing this for his sister; she had made her bed. This was for his dad.
'Ok dad, this is what we'll do.'

'I have looked over Ronald's exam results over his time here, and alongside his classwork, I am extremely concerned. If he fails anymore of his classwork, then he will be bottom of the year, and there will be no way for him to recover his grade. He will not be allowed to move on to his fifth year.' Minerva explained to Molly.
'I'm sure that Hermione will help him study; they have always been close.' smiled Molly.
'I don't think that you are listening to what I'm saying, Molly. Your son is failing and given the way he has been treating Hermione and every other girl in this school; I highly doubt that she will wish to assist him with anything.' said Minerva.
'It's just a misunderstanding; they bicker like an old married couple that's all. I imagine that she is just a little jealous that he has caught the eye of another witch.' Molly tried to dismiss the accusation.
'Ms Granger and Mr Potter are in a committed relationship; I have spoken to them both at great length about it. I would not be at all surprised if they became betrothed before the Yule break.' Explained Minerva
'Harry just hasn't had the opportunity to spend time with Ginny. She is just like Lily; they would make the perfect couple.' Said Molly, Ron just nodded like a loon next to his mother.
'Regardless of what your thoughts are on their relationship, this does not change the fact that one more failed test and I will have no choice but to have Ronald removed from school. He is not willing to put in the effort to learn, nor is he likely to improve. As an educator, it goes against everything I stand for to exclude a child from school; however, I have to consider the well being of the rest of the students.' Explained Minerva
Molly sat with her mouth open in shock. Ron looked ashen-faced at the prospect of being the only Weasley to be removed from school for not being smart enough. He was about to make a comment when the office door opened and his father and brother walked in.
'Minerva, you will not have to exclude Ronald. He is being withdrawn from school today, and once Ginevra is able, she will also be withdrawn. As Heir of the Weasley family, I have been given the power to make this decision. Also, before we leave my mum, brother and sister will be placed under a Geas, and the names of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger will be removed from their minds as part of the Geas. This decision will not be debated, altered or questioned by anyone.' stated Bill.
Minerva couldn't help but smile; perhaps today would turn out to be a good day after all.
Unexpectedly her office door sprang open.
'What has just happened?' asked Albus breathlessly

Ragnok sat at his desk, deep in under Gringotts. The list that Brother Harry had given him during their earliest exchanges had troubled him. Not only was there an abomination within the walls of the bank, but the fact someone had gotten such dark magic past their safeguards unchallenged was very troubling.
Brother Harry had given a very tight time scale for the retrieval and disposal of these artefacts; fortunately, the start date was very close at hand now that Lord Black had been granted his trial. Ragnok reached for a piece of parchment and noted down a few thoughts; perhaps when Mr Potter is officially unveiled as Kin to the Goblin Nation plans could be made to gather some political might.
One of the artefacts was located in a slum just on the outskirts of a non-magical village; the initial scout of the area had shown that a high level of unusual magic was prevalent within the confines of the ramshackle dwelling place. One of Gringotts best curse breakers would have to be dispatched to survey the site.
The thing that had Ragnok a little perplexed was the request to remove the bones of the Riddle family from their grave. It was a little known fact that while the Goblin nation is a warrior nation, they also have the utmost respect for the dead and see the desecration of a grave as almost blasphemy. Brother Harry would have to explain this before any discussion could be had.
'My Lord, there has been a disturbance at Hogwarts. Sisters Minerva, and Hermione, and Brother Harry were involved. It appears that some Aurors were dispatched to apprehend Brother Harry' explained the messenger who had appeared just inside the door.
Ragnok gave a firm nod until the festival of Samhain, the new brothers and sisters could not be declared to the world; Harry had requested that the news be kept secret until then. Gringotts would monitor the situation carefully.
'Please summon Aglig for me.' he asked the messenger, who in turn bowed and left to carry out his duty.
'If this is the old man, what is he aiming for?' pondered the Goblin.

'Poppy!' shouted Albus
Poppy came rushing from her office to see what all the commotion was about and gasped in shock at the sight of Ginny Weasley glowing with a pulsating silver light. The young girl didn't move; made no sound, she didn't even open her eyes.
Poppy rushed over to Ginny's bedside, whatever was happening to her had caused the monitoring charms to be disabled. She draw her want to recast the spells, but before she could speak the first incantation, the light lashed out at the school matron and propelled her back the way she came.
'Albus wha-' Madam Pomfrey was cut off by the growing Thrumming sound that was emanating from around Ginny.
Suddenly three distant echoing voices spoke 'Ginevra Molly Weasley, our warnings have been heeded not. You have been judged unfit to wield our gift. We henceforth take back our essence and leave you with your soul. So do we swear, So it is done.'
The pulsating light faded as the last echo of the voices dissipated, leaving nothing but deathly silence. Both Albus and Poppy were speechless at what they had just witnessed. It wasn't until Ginny awoke, screaming that they were shaken from their stupor.
'What happened to me, why do I feel so different?' sobbed Ginny.
'Albus, go and get Minerva and the Weasley's now.' ordered the healer.
Albus moved with a speed and agility that belied his years made his way to his deputy's office.
Madam Pomfrey drew her wand and cast a series of diagnostic spells on the young woman; they all reported that Ginny had lost her magic.

As Albus descended the stairs, Bill was informing his family that Ron and Ginny were being withdrawn from school. Albus rushed to the office and burst through the door, surprising everyone in the room.
'What has just happened?' asked Albus breathlessly.
'Albus, what is the meaning of this?' demanded Minerva.
'Quickly, what has just happened, you must tell me.' said Albus.
Bill spoke up 'We are withdrawing Ronald and Ginevra from school, both of them and mum will be put under a Geas to prevent them from saying, thinking or doing against Harry and Hermione.'
'Something else must have happened, tell me did anyone say anything against Harry or Hermione. It is of the utmost importance that you tell me.' demanded Albus.
'I said that Hermione is a little jealous that Ronald has caught the eye of other witches. That would explain why She and Harry had gotten together and cut Ronald from their friendship.' Explained Molly with a slightly smug look on her face.
'CONFOUND IT ALL MOLLY WEASELY! HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN SO STUPID?' erupted Albus.
'I CERTAINLY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING STUPID, AND I RESENT SUCH AN ACCUSATION' spat Molly back at him.
'ITS A LITTLE LATE FOR APATY, DON'T YOU THINK' said Albus forcefully
'I SPOKE MY MIND IS ALL' Screamed Molly
'AND WHAT DID YOU THINK HM? SPEAK UP WHAT WERE YOU THINKING EXACTLY?' demanded the headmaster, the legendary fury that conquered Grindelwald blazed in his eyes.
'N-nothing important, that is I thought that that common strumpet wasn't good enough for our boy and that she would sully the Potter name...But I didn't say anything; I swear it' pleaded Molly
'No, you didn't have to. Cause no ill will in either Word, Though or Deed Molly. You though it and now you will have to live with the consequences.' Albus shook his head in disgust before leaving the office.
Arthur and Bill followed the aged headmaster from the office.
'Albus, what happened?' asked Arthur
'I am afraid that because of your wife's actions Arthur, your daughter has been judged unworthy to wield magic.' said Albus
'Judged?' asked Bill 'By whom?'
'By magic its self, William. By magic it's self. Both Poppy and I witnessed it. Ginevra was unconscious at the time, so I doubt that she felt any pain. When she woke a few moments ago, she said that she felt different. I suggest that you both go to her.' said Albus as he walked away.
