Azula was reborn on the hottest day of summer to sidekick mother with a mid-level Flame quirk and a father with a low-level electricity quirk who had passed. Their abilities providing her a perfect cover for her firebending. Living the first four years of her life as a child does, playing with friends and spending time with her parents learning how to be a person. The night of her fourth birthday a lifetime of trauma comes rushing back to her, and that is how her parents found her, screaming sobbing her room on fire at her Firebending lashing out with her emotions.

"Azula!" her mother yells as she puts out the flames on the walls rushing over to her daughter checking her over for burns.

"It's ok, it's ok," she repeats over and over again rocking her Screaming daughter, using her quirk to fight back her daughter's flames.

starting to sweat from the strain of holding Azula's powerful blue flames back as she picks her up and walks towards her phone calling the Q.s.u and giving them her address sitting down on a chair holding her daughter and waiting.

Hours later she stands on the other side of a window the doctor a day later, her heart breaking at seeing her four-year-old sat in a padded room with a quirk suppressing collar around her neck, her eyes haunted.

"She's heavily medicated right now, and we have a therapist coming in to try and help, but you need to remember that this isn't a quick fix."

"Why did this happen?" she asks and he sighs.

"We can't tell as of yet, Some quirks are harder on the body than others and mental breaks during quirk appearance isn't completely unheard of."

"C..can I see her?" she asks..

"She's near catatonic. But you can go in, she's not a danger to anyone right now," he tells her typing in the door code opening it for her to go in and see her daughter unsurprised to see Azula not even lift her head to look at her.

Zuko had snuck out for the night to take in a play when he found it, a Blue mask with a haunting smile. He pays the man pushing the cart sliping it over his face as he walks into the building finding the play palatable compared to some of the others he had seen. After the play finishes he leaves the playhouse pulling his phone out and seeing messages from his sister worrying over where he is. He goes to text her quickly on my way when he hears a scream from an alleyway. He makes a quick decision pushing his phone back into his pocket and pulling the mask back over his head running over to the alleyway seeing a blackhaired man with yellow streaks running through them holding a woman up against the wall with his other hand in the air electricity sparking in his kicks over a can to get the man's attention and he looks over at zuko dropping the girl who scrambles away.

"What are you some kind of hero?" The man mocks throwing his hand out towards Zuko, a massive bolt of electricity flying towards him, Zuku catching it in his fingers redirecting The yellow electricity turning into a bolt of blue lightning as zuko sends it right back into the man's chest, sending him flying into the wall with a loud crack. The man falling in front of the women's hiding spot and when she peeks out zuko is already gone. On the rooftop above watching as the woman pulls out her phone dialing for the police as she runs out of the alleyway zuko watching the man and when he sees that he's not waking up he starts on his journey home arriving around midnight and climbing in through his window careful not to make any noise as he pulls it shut walking to his closet and pulling out a box of winter clothes hiding the blue spirit mask in the bottom and repacking it texting his sister a quick text saying he was home before laying in his bed and slipping off to sleep already planning to go out as the blue spirit again.

It takes Azula years to stop feeling like there are two people in her head, Young Azula so excited to finally get her quirk to show her friends, and Azula daughter of Ozai, The broken young woman who had been driven mad.

"What do you want to do when you grow up, You told me to ask you again later and I think you might have figured it out." And she had, she knew what she needed to do to make up for the havoc she had wrought in her previous life.

"I want to be a hero," she says determined and her mother smiles at her.

"I think you'll be a great hero." Her mother assures her and she smiles. Her mother was so supportive, like a parent should be.

"Do you know which school you would like to try for?"

"Yuuie. It's the best hero school in the country."

"I'm sure you can do it, Do you want to use the practice rooms at my work? It's fireproofed."

"I would, When can we go?" Azula asks itching to be able to Firebend freely again.

"Tomorrow's my day off, we can go in the morning and your mom can show you a few tricks ok?"

"Sounds great," Azula says, not sure if her mother's fire quirk would transfer over to firebending. Azula wakes up with the sun the next morning preparing for the day and tying her hair back . meeting her mom as she walks out of her room still half asleep but dresses.

"You always wake up so early," she says yawning.

"You wake up late." she counters.

"Well since you're all ready to go, let's go." she says walking towards the front door azula following after her.

"So you work for Endeavor right?"

"Well i work for his agency. I've only met the man during the cleanup after a raid. My quirks not strong enough for me to get to work with him directly."

"I'm sure it's plenty strong," she assures her mother. They walk for half an hour when they reach a skyscraper, the front doors opening for him.

"Good Morning 't this your day off?" The woman at the front desk greets.

"Morning, I want to help my daughter with her Quirk so I'm planning on bringing her to one of the fireproof rooms."

"Oh that's nice. What's Your name?" she asks, pulling out a marker and a visitor's pass."

"My names azula." she says and the woman rights it out handing it over to the 13 year old.

"Here you are, Have fun today." she says buzzing them onto the elevator. Mother and daughter walking into it, the door closing.

"That's the gatekeeper, I've told you about her."

"You said that she's the reason you're always late. But I think it's because you always sleep in Mother."

"Oh shush, Just because my Quirks solar powered doesn't mean I need to wake with it." she counters as the doors open.

"But you do rise with the sun, You just go back to sleep right after."

"Shush, Don't say that my boss could hear you." She leads her down the hall using a dry erase marker to write her hero name on the plaque on the door leading her inside.

"It's almost impossible to burn down this room so go crazy, just don't burn yourself and don't burn me ok?"

"Ok mom." azula assures Before starting to run through the basic forms she had learned as a child on a different world her flames starting off blue and red as she Hesitantly tests her bending in her new body slowly turning up the heat until her flames are a familiar blue clocking in at 3600 degrees on the rooms Temperature sensors sending a notification to endeavour of flames hotter than any of his sidekicks should be capable of. And he pulls up The camera feed seeing one of his sidekicks and a teenage girl using blue flames that bring up memories of the worst night of his life. He jots down a quick note to keep an eye on her as a potential bride for shoto before standing up and leaving to start a patrol of the city.
