Chapter Twenty-Four: Oops, Didn't Mean To Do That

Reinhart walked up and pulled her away from Happy, "Why don't you let him talk. For all you know he can have the solution." Lucy blanched at the hard glare that she was receiving from the frightening s class wizard.

"And here is a person scarier when he wants to be." The ice mage added taking a step away from the irritated man while Natsu just stood there with a beaming smile on his face.

"I'm sorry, I just thought that since she could dig holes, maybe she could dig through ground to get us to the other side of the barrier." Happy said with a whimper.

Yellow eyes glared at the blond, "See, so next time listen then maybe we would have been out of here earlier." He walked away and leaned against the wall his arms crossing over his chest as he glared at the blond apologizing to Happy.

Now:

Reinhart tilted his head as he waited patiently for Lucy to get the key. As he did he thought of the best ways to take on a wind wizard. They were a hard type of wizard to fight back against and he wanted to be sure that he at least had a plan for the possible rickety environment. There was no way that it was going to be an easy fight either. In the corner of his eye he saw the blue cat hand the blond female the key after he made her promise to get him some fish as an apology. He felt the cat was being a little too easy on the female but he wasn't the one that had been hurt by the blond's hurtful actions. Natsu, Grey, and Happy moved to where they were out of the way so the yellow eyed man didn't move from his spot since he felt he was out of the way enough, and the fact that Lucy could deal with it since he wasn't in the mood to move from his spot. Watching the younger female as she turned and held the key out he watched and took mental notes on what was different from the last time she summoned a spirit.

"I call upon the, in the world of the celestial spirits." A golden light lit up around Lucy as the energy made her blond hair move, "And now I beckon you to my side at once. Pass through the gate." Using the key to slice through the air she continued to summon, "Open gate of the maiden, Virgo!"

Reinhart watched as the spirit came out of thin air. He was surprised to see that she looked pretty human. He had not been expecting that, at most he had been expecting some kind of animal looking spirit like the cow. But he'd take the fact that he was wrong, he was man enough to admit that. However when he looked at Lucy she seemed surprised by something, he just hoped it wasn't for thinking that the sprit would be an animal like creature. He had a feeling she would have known that not all of them looked like that. "You summoned mistress, what can I do for you?" The pink haired spirit asked as she stood there slightly bowed to the shocked blond.

To the s class wizards shock the celestial wizard asked the one question that caused him to want to fall over in shock. "Who are you?" What kind of question was that? Clearly she summoned a specific spirit, so that had to be exactly who she was.

Natsu waltz right over to the spirit and started talking friendly with her, "What's up burger? Man you look great, you lost some weight."

"My names, Virgo. I apologize for any trouble I might have caused you."

"She didn't just lose weight Natsu!"

Gray looked at the shocked blond wizard, "What do you mean?"

"She's like a totally different person." Lucy replied still looking quite shocked by whatever the surprising development was. Reinhart wasn't sure why she was still freaking out, she seemed friendly enough. Lucy honestly should just take the development and run with it.

The pink haired spirit turned to the celestial wizard, "I'm a very loyal spirit that will do anything to please her wizard. So I take on whatever form my wizard will find most appealing."

"I don't know, I kind of liked it when you were all big and tough looking." Natsu said with a smile.

"Did you really? Well then…" Virgo asked then turned into a larger buffer form of her self. Causing Lucy and Gray to spazz out seeing the seeing the drastic difference. "…I can fix that if you like."

Reinhart for his part merely stared for a millisecond before bursting into laughter, "Okay, I can see why Blondy was all surprised by how you looked." He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, "You look like some kind of giant human looking gorilla."

Lucy quickly spoke up, "Don't listen to him! I'm your wizard and I like the other form better!"

"As you wish mistress." Virgo replied turning back to her more petit self.

Reinhart couldn't help it he fell over because he was laughing so hard. Lucy's reaction to the giant version of Virgo was way too amusing. He would remember it for years to come. While the s class wizard got himself under control on the ground Lucy quickly spoke up getting to the serious matter at hand. "I'm afraid we don't have much time, can we work out the contract details later?"

"Of coarse whatever you like mistress."

Reinhart found himself losing interest in what Lucy and Virgo were saying when she started getting picky about was the spirit was calling her. Walking over to Erza he knelt down next to the redhead holding Kage. "How is he doing?"

"I think he's hanging in there." Her brown eyes looked down at the man in her arms. "He's still breathing at least."

"Yes, that is true." Reinhart could feel Kage's eyes on him as he spoke to the female s class wizard. He could see the absolute confusion the man beheld him with. This was not a side that dark wizards were accustom to when it concerned him so it was understandable that Kage was as confused as he was. Looking over he saw that the celestial spirit made the hole in the ground needed for them to get out. Nodding he stood up and made his way over not even pausing when the dragon slayer made his way over and picked up the man that Erza was going to leave behind without a second thought.

Reinhart was never more happy to be a man than when he didn't have to deal with the idea of wearing a skirt. However he did hate the fact that he wanted nothing more smack Virgo for allowing her skirt to fly in the air around her thighs as she helped protect Lucy's dignity. Keeping his hand over his eyes he made his way over to the car and got into the driver seat. In his peripheral vision he could see Natsu putting Kage into the back seat. While the man sat there he looked at the dark guild hunter in surprise seeing him slip on the plug for it to use his magic energy when he started the car up. Kage didn't know why he was so shocked that the boogieman didn't use any of his magic power but he was. He didn't even look winded by the wind barrier blowing his short black hair into his face. The dark guild member smiled, "Even with a fresh wizard at the driver's seat, you'll never catch up to Erigor. You can't stop us. We've won."

Reinhart gave a dark laugh scaring the dark guild member and causing him to look at him in slight fright, "Don't lie to yourself. Erigor will fall…" His yellow eyes locked onto the man in the back seat of his rented car. "…and you will be there to see his demise." Kage once again failed to understand how Fairy Tail had a wizard like Reinhart in their guild and not feel fear from him. He was seriously one scary man when he wanted to be.

Erza looked around in surprise, "Where's Natsu?"

"Happy isn't here either." Lucy added as she looked around in surprise.

Reinhart laughed again, "Get in the car slow pokes otherwise we are going to miss the party of seeing Natsu kick Erigor's ass."

With everyone in the car Reinhart started up the car and drove off quickly but carefully making sure to take into consideration that he had passengers in the backseat. Even though he could hear the conversation that was going on in the car behind him he made sure most of his focus was on the road and how much of his magic energy was being used. 'Please Natsu, keep his focus and kick his ass for all of Fairy Tail.'

"So tell me, why are you taking me with you?" Kage asked from his spot next to Gray.

"Cause you obviously need a doctor. And since everyone left town you will have to see one in Clover." Lucy replied from next to Erza who was watching the yellow eyed man like he was going to drive crazy or like he was going to use up his magic energy going as fast as he was. "Try and show some gratitude."

"I don't understand, why are you helping me?" Kage opened up one of his eyes to look at the blond across from him, "We're enemies." It was quiet for a moment before the dark guild wizard spoke again, "Oh I get it,…" Reinhart dreaded what was about to come out of the man's mouth at this point, "…you're taking me hostage so that you can make a deal with Erigor. Well you can forget it. He could care less for me or any of his men."

While Lucy said, "Geez, lighten up dude."

Reinhart said, "Great now we have a dopey dark guild member, I say we throw him out so we don't have to listen to his pity me talk."

Before Erza and Lucy could gripe at him for what he had said Gray spoke up, "If you want to die we can make that happen."

"Goodness, you're as bad as Reinhart. Stop letting him influence you. It's bad enough Natsu looks up to him." The red head chastised while Lucy said:

"Chill Gray."

However before the dark guild member could react to what the redhead said Gray spoke up, "There's a whole lot more to this world than life and death you know." Kage locked eyes on the male next to him in surprise, "You should try to look for the positive. You and your Eisenwald pals."

Reinhart looked over just in time to see a bird flying in his direction and not changing course in time. Seeing as there was nothing he could do his eyes lit up with a magic circle now in his iris causing the bird to freak out and fly to the side of the car causing Lucy to scream in slight fright when it nearly crashed into the window next to her. Kage looked at the celestial wizard with a dropped jaw as she gaspingly yelled out, "Ah! That bird nearly hit me!"

"Can your voice be any more ear bleeding, are you trying to make me deaf?" The dark guild member aside putting his hands over his ears.

Lucy got angry and started yelling at Gray to beat up the dark wizard. The only reason she calmed down was due to Reinhart saying, "Don't make me knock you out with the side of my rental car Blondy, because I do know how to do that without hurting the others."

Petrified brown eyes looked at the male s class wizard while Erza placed her hand against her face at the Reinhart's tact. 'I sometimes wonder what Kristina even sees in him.'

As if sensing her thought process Reinhart cast a smirk over his shoulder and then quickly looked back over at where he was driving. Kage looked between a petrified Lucy and Reinhart. With the way the man acted one would think that he had previously had time in a different dark guild at one point in time. However as far as he, and other dark guilds, knew Reinhart had always been in a light guild. Kage remembered an old thought of perhaps since Reinhart had made it his job to hunt down dark guilds he started to be affected by how they acted. But then he had to explain how he still remained a light wizard if he was in fact being affected by dark guilds. Holding his head Kage let the though go with a small groan. There was a reason Reinhart was called the mystery man of Fairy Tail. He was a lot harder to figure out than just was his power was.

As they got closer to where Natsu and Erigor were fighting they group in the car could see lots of fire and explosions. Reinhart smirked seeing all of the chaos happening that he was heading toward, "Way to go Natsu!" The driver yelled happily one of his arms making it's way into the air as he cheered, "That's right kick that wanna be leader's ass!"

Kage jumped in shock hearing the man yell out in joy. Usually when a dark guild member saw Reinhart feel joy or even smile it was to their own dread about to happen to them. This joy was something he, as a dark guild member, had never seen before. He looked so happy at the though of another person in a fight. The boogieman wanted nothing more at this point than for his teammate to win in the fight he was in. It clearly didn't matter who the fire breather was taking on, Reinhart would feel the same joy and pure happiness that he was currently expressing. It was terrifying and amazing to see such joy on the boogieman's face. 'What kind of man is he? What does he have in life to be able to express this kind of peace, happiness and tranquility? What is it in his life that stops him from going all out and joining a dark guild and being a terror to light guilds instead of dark?'

Reinhart continued to cheer on Natsu from the driver seat as he continued to drive. For some unnatural reason this happy energy gave him an even bigger power boost allowing the man to drive fast as if he was trying to get a front row seat to the show. It all but seemed that the male s class wizard didn't even want to fight Erigor anymore. Seeing the fight come into view Kage's jaw dropped when he saw Erigor hit the ground right as Reinhart stopped inches from the unconscious dark guild leader. "Natsu." Lucy yelled as she got out of the car running up to the dragon slayer with the other right behind her.

However before she could even reach him Reinhart pulled the pink haired male into a hug. "You did it; you beat someone I've been trying to beat for a long time. I couldn't be more proud of you."

Natsu hugged the man back happily, "So you are saying one day I can even beat you."

"One day little brother, one day." Reinhart replied pulling away sharing a laugh with the fire dragon slayer as he ruffled the younger's hair.

Kage got out of the car and looked at the scene before him. Erigor beaten by a child weaker than Reinhart, Reinhart happily giving him the credit he deserved and praising him as if they were blood brothers instead of guild mates, and the others crowding around happily at their victory. 'No way, Erigor never loses. Not even the boogieman could beat him.' He gulped, 'How is that that Reinhart Nightingale, a scary man that every dark guild fears finding them, is able to show such love and affection to another and get the same in return. Why isn't the fire wizard afraid of him? Wait, when did that ice wizard strip?' Before he knew it the stripped wizard was arguing causing the other Fairy Tail mages to laugh amused, Erza included.

The redhead said with a light voice, "Anyway well done, Natsu. Thanks to you all the guild masters will be safe now." Erza locked eyes with Reinhart who indicated to the flute with a jut of his chin. Seeing his thought process she added, "While we are here I think we should make sure to stop by the guild master conference to tell them what happened and ask them how we should properly dispose of the lullaby flute."

"Might as well since we are so close to Clover." Happy agreed as he flew to where he was in Natsu's arms.

Seeing a sudden movement in the corner of his eye Reinhart quickly grabbed Lucy bringing her and Erza down when his rental car went over their heads. This of course caused him to get a light cut over his back. When he stood back up he glared at the man driving his rental car, now beyond happy that his luggage was at the room they had rented in where their first stop had been. "You asshole. Give me back my rental car!" Instantly the Fairy Tail members ran after the car not caring if they had to run for miles just to reach him. As they ran the cut that had been inflicted on the mystery man of Fairy Tail started healing quickly, the necklace on his neck glowing softly as it did.

Reaching the top of a hill the five Fairy Tail members stopped seeing their master talking to Kage, who was about to put the flute to his lips. "There he is." Gray said.

"Gramps." Natsu said.

"Master." Erza said.

Reinhart went to talk but a chill went up his spine causing him to look over his shoulder to see Master Bob holding a finger to his lips. His yellow eyes widened as the man started talking in a soft voice. "Were just about to get to the good part." The master looked at Natsu and Gray as the two freaked out staring at him as he said, "Oh aren't you boys yummy. So adorable."

"Who the heck is that guy?" Lucy asked as Reinhart tried to hide behind Erza so that he didn't have to be forced to have Bob comment on him as well.

Glaring at the man trying to use her to hide the redhead replied to the female next to her, "That's Master Bob."

Master Bob turned his attention to the redhead, "Erza, honey you really filled out."

Lucy also tried to hide herself as she said, "You're telling me that weirdo is the master of the Blue Pegasus guild?"

"Yes." Erza replied, shoving Reinhart right into the open he where he jumped backward when Master Bob nearly got into his face.

"Oh, look at you Reinhart. I swear you get more handsome every time I see you."

The yellow eyed man hid behind a tree as he gave the strained response of, "Thanks."

When the master was no longer looking at him he focused on his own master as he started to talk, "Well, I can't wait all night young man."

"No master. Don't let him play it." Reinhart said just loud enough for those close to him to hear.

"Can you guys keep it down over there? We are just about to get to the good part."

The younger members of Fairy Tail looked over at the newcomer. Lucy putting to together who he was, "He's with Quarto Cerberus."

"That's their master, Goldmine." Erza added as she looked at the blond next to her.

"Well." Makarov said getting the attention of the snoopers. When Kage wasn't playing the flute he continued talking, "Nothings going to change." The dark guild member seemed shocked by this statement, "You can not change the fact that those who are weak will forever remain weak. Now maybe it's just me but I don't think that's a bad thing." Reinhart smiled and listened happily to what his master had to say, he only wished that his wife was here to hear it herself. "I mean we humans are weak creatures by nature. Our insecurities are the reason that guilds even exist and they are why we have friends. When we're surrounded by allies it's easy to stay positive about the future. Think of it this way, if we are clumsy then we may stumble and bump into things. But as long as we have faith in our future we continue marching forward. Our inner strength emerges on its own. But we have to chose that path and live our lives to the fullest. Don't let that silly flute get in the way."

Kage dropped the flute and fell to his knees, "I surrender."

The Fairy Tail mages ran forward calling out to their master happily. When he noticed they were there he couldn't help but say, "Wha… How did you kids end up in Clover?"

"Master Makarov,…" Erza grabbed their master and pulled him into a hug smacking the poor man's head into her chest armor, "…your words touched me so deeply I was almost moved to tears."

Reinhart grinned down at his master, "I am so happy to see that you are okay. Never have I been more glad that I joined Fairy Tail with Kristina, you were amazing."

A laugh startled the group causing them to look at the flute in shock. "I've grown tired of you cowardly wizards and your expressions. I can no longer hold back. I shall come forth to devour you myself."

Reinhart's jaw dropped in shock as the flute let out a magic circle causing it to become a giant flute. "No way. It can't be…"

"I shall feast upon your pitiful souls."

"What is that thing? Erigor never said anything about a monster!" Kage yelled in shock.

"We're in a pickle." Bob said with a hand to his face.

"It must be a demon from the book of Zeref." Goldmine added calmly.

While Reinhart watched in absolute awe Lucy asked in shock, "Why did the flute turn into a monster?"

"That's Lullabies true form in the flesh. It's forbidden black magic." Goldmine replied, "Living magic, Zeref's specialty."

"Living magic?" Erza asked as she stared up at the monstrosity standing before her.

"Who's Zeref?" Gray asked, "Wasn't he some ancient wizard?"

"He's the most evil wizard the world has ever known. He was very powerful in his day, but in my wildest dreams I never thought his legacy would pop back up again." Master Bob replied.

The giant demonized flute leaned forward, "Now then, which of these delectable souls should I dine on first?" Reinhart glared at the demon knowing full well that his usual first approach was not going to work. He'd have to use the plan he used for emergencies only in an early part of the fight. "Natsu and Gray get everyone to a safe place." Erza commanded.

"Quit barking orders." Natsu argued making Reinhart want to smack his head especially when Gray joined in.

"Yeah, you're not the boss of us."

"Just do it." Erza and Reinhart said at the same time as they turned to the demon getting ready to take it on to what ever means necessary. Natsu and Gray immediately went into action of trying to get all the guild master to safety.

Seeing the demon shoot a blast at the army that had planned on taking it on and scare them off made the yellow eyed male tighten his hands. "I have no need for those pathetic humans. I prefer the taste of a wizard's soul and I'll consume all of yours."

Natsu reacted instantly, "Oh yeah, I'd like to see you try. Bring it on big guy."

The demon let out a roar and let out a sharp sound causing even those that didn't have sensitive hearing to hold their ears. Erza held out two of her swords that she had summoned, "Ready?" The three males with her nodded and charged with her. Natsu, Gray, and Erza got close to the demon while Reinhart got as close as he wanted and held his hands in front of his face as his eyes closed. He could hear his teammates calling out their attacks. Erza was first as she reequipped into her knight armor and attacked the giant demon with her magic swords. Meanwhile Gray called out, "Ice Make: Lance." Dozens of ice lances shot off from him and hit the demon head on.

As Natsu reached the flute demon he called out his own attack, "Fire Dragon: Iron fist." Hitting the demon in the face with his fiery fist making it cry out in pain.

At this time Reinhart's eyes opened and his iris's looking like a magic circle as a light shot out of them going through his hands and making the magic circle bigger. With a dark grin he said, "Fearful Entity: Puppet of Fear." Right before everyone's eyes a dark shadow had rose from the ground taking the shape of a person that had the giant demon quivering and begging the figure not to attack. The figure held up his it's hand and shot off several shadow demon looking snakes that latched onto the wooden demon tearing off chunks of wood as they pulled back. Reinhart kept his hands out to keep the figure there controlling shadowy figure with his mind.

Lucy was amazed hearing how all the older wizards behind her were commenting on how amazing her team was. However one comment got her attention and that one was concerning one of her scariest teammates, "Look at that fear magic. I didn't even know anyone still practiced that."

The celestial wizard shook as fear gripped her heart, 'Oh my gosh, Reinhart uses fear magic! It's a lost magic just like Natsu's dragon slaying is.'

"You are making me angry." The demon flute said swing his fist down at the wizards attacking him. In doing so caused Reinhart to jump back simultaneously making him to let the spell loose and get ready to use another one. The magic circles in his eyes started to spin as his teammates attacking the beast with everything they had, "Don't think I am through with you yet. Cause I got more coming." The spinning magic circle in his eyes got so fast that the distinct lines could no longer be seen, "Fearful Entity: Internal Panic."

The demon gave a frightened yell and started attacking something that was not there every once in a while. Thus making it easy for his teammates to attack the beast with everything that they had. Deciding that it had enough of being on the defense it let out a yell as it sucked in the large magic circle above its head and started draining the life from the wilderness around him. Reinhart backed away from a tree that lost its life and keep his eyes on the demon that he had a fear attacking him that no one could see. He could feel his magic energy draining as he kept the attack up, but he was not about to back down not when he could help. Even if it now meant more than the small number of people that knew what he could do grew to those in the area he was in. "Just one note and your souls will be mine." The demon flue said getting ready to play its song. However as it went to play it note nothing came out but a sound of a whispers. Reinhart grinned seeing the immediate problem as the demon asked, "I don't understand. Why can't I play my melody of death?"

Reinhart laughed as Kage said it first, "It must be because of all of those attacks."

"They punched so many holes in that thing, that it totally messed up it's sound." Lucy added then giggled, "Talk about going out with a whimper."

The demon flute then started to throw a temper tantrum and started kicking over mountains and buildings. "How dare you mock me!"

Reinhart laughed, "Alright, let's finish this giant firewood!" The demon turned to the large group of wizards and shot of a blast that got blocked by Gray making an ice shield. The demon yelled as it got shoved into the ground by an unknown force. Turning to look at the male s class wizard it swung its fist at him causing the man to break his concentration as he dodge the attack, the magic circle vanishing from his eyes. "I will kill you all. Huh?" The flute turned and watched as all the fire that had been burning the ground got sucked into Natsu's mouth.

"Now I got a fire in my belly."

"You're not human. You're a monster." The demon said causing Reinhart to burst out laughing at the irony of the statement.

The beast sent a fist where the dragon slayer was, however Natsu just jumped out of the way and started running up the beast's arm, "Oh yeah, like you can talk."

"Stop climbing me!"

Erza flew in and reequipped into her black wing armor. As Natsu jumped off the demon's arm and the female flew up. Reinhart pulled out one of his magic guns and shot off a large magic round that joined Gray ice saucer causing a large gapping hole in the demons side. Erza took this time the slice the flute in the face causing it to reel back in pain. As it did Erza, Gray and Reinhart said, "Natsu now!"

Natsu held out both of his arms as his hands lit up in flames, "I got the flames on my right hand, and the flames on my left." He put his hands together, "Put them both together and this is what you get." Holding his arms above his head the slayer allowed the ball of fire to get bigger. "Fire Dragon: Brilliant Flame!" The slayer then chucked the large fire ball at the demon flute causing it to cry out in pain as it hit. When it hit it cause a large explosion and caused the demon to disappear and return back to its small flute form. Reinhart looked at his team, feeling happy that he had come along. Though he was sure that they would have been able to handle the beast without his help. He could hear the praise that was headed their way but all he could think about was how glad he was part of taking down the demon. Now he knew for a fact that his Kristina was safe and that he helped cause that with his own two hands.

Reinhart happily chatted with his master as the while Lucy cheered with Happy about what they had done. He would have felt more joy but something one of the masters said caught his attention so he looked over his shoulder his jaw dropping while Erza went into a small internally panic. "Oops." The yellow eyed male rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "That wasn't supposed to happen."

Natsu laughed, "We really made a mess of the place huh?'

Reinhart chuckled thinking that it was a good thing that Kristina had not come on the mission with them. Otherwise there would be more than a few more mountain tops missing. He sweat dropped and started running with the rest of his guild mate's as they started getting chased. Feeling it build up he let out a laugh as he ran.
