Shane and Derek arrived to Maya's house, Anna was with them of course. "Here we are!" Derek announced as he parked the car.
Shane stared at the house.
"You ok, Shane?" Anna asked.
"Yeah." Shane answers.
"Bro, there's nothing to be nervous about." Derek said looking over him and grabbed his chin. "Just be your best self and dance with the girl of your dreams." He pats his cheek.
Shane just nods.
"Alright." Shane breathed.
He got out and shuts the door before running to the house, knocking until the door open.
"Hello ma'am, uh..I'm Shane LaTierri and I'm here to take your daughter to the dance." Shane said, nervously but trying to play cool.
The woman, assuming Maya's mother, Madison Lane smiled warmly.
"Oh, you must be Shane." Madison smiled. "It's so nice to meet you, oh Maya! Dear, Shane's here!"
Shane saw Maya walking down the stairs in her beautiful dress.
"Hi Shane." Maya smiled.
"Hi." Shane said softly. "You uh…you're lookin' good."
"Thanks." Maya said. "You do, too."
"Thanks." Shane smiled.
"Oh, you guys look so cute together!" Madison gushed.
Shane smiled while Maya blushed.
"Mother." Maya scolded, while laughing.
"I just had to take a picture, get close now." Madison said as she held a camera.
She took the picture.
"So cute!" Madison cried.
"Bye mom," Maya laughs. "Bye dad!"
Maya's father, Milo Lane, looks up from his newspaper and smiled at them both.
"Bye princess!" Milo called out. "See ya, Shane!"
Shane waved to him.
"Nice seeing you, Mrs. Lane." Shane said.
Madison smiled at him.
"You too, Shane." She replied.
Shane opens the door for Maya.
"Thanks!" Maya smiled as they walked out.
They walked over to the car.
"Hello Maya!" Anna smiled. "Oh, you look so stunning in your dress!"
Shane held the car door for her as Maya got in.
"Thank you!" Maya replied. "My mom and my older sister Meg took me out shopping."
Anna awed at her.
"Well, you look very gorgeous." Derek smiled.
Shane gets in the car.
"Thank you." Maya smiled.
Shane smiled at her before turning around.
"Alright, let's roll!" Derek said as he starts his car.
Derek pulled out of the driveway and drove off to the school for the Valentine's Day dance.
