(November 5, 1990) (Monday) (Bromley Estate) (Four months since conception)

Adrianna had immensely enjoyed her weekend with her husband. For the first time since they had conceived their child they had finally slept together. After their heady Saturday afternoon she and Severus had taken a small nap together and then he gently woke her when he had already showered and dressed for his afternoon responsibilities. She had pouted when she saw him fully dressed and he had chuckled at her ardor. Maybe it had been their passionate encounter or maybe she had finally been making some headway but he had tentatively, almost timidly, suggested that they relax together after his scheduled patrols in the living room, maybe watch some films.

She had beamed at his suggestion and happily accepted. What would have been a late movie night turned into a passionate makeout session which ended with them having sex on the couch like a couple of randy teenagers. To be fair she still was one but she would not bring that up again. Especially not after he had fucked her so thoroughly into their couch that night. They had slept there as well, neither one having the energy to make it back to their own beds nor the inclination to move. She had been overjoyed when he held her close to him the entire night.

She could still remember the intensity of his gaze as he entered her for the first time in months. The look of bliss warred with uncertainty until she reassured him with a kiss. She knew that there had never been anyone else aside from her and a handful of women but for him to be so uncertain even in the face of her enthusiastic participation still upset her. Severus deserved to have found someone during all these years of unrequited love. He was an accomplished lover and was very giving in bed. British women were fools.

He had brought her to completion once again and she had loudly praised his abilities. The best part of it all however was screaming his name and calling him 'Sir' at the top of her lungs though. He took great delight in his new nickname, much to his own surprise. When he asked her why she had changed it she had admitted that it was because of his teaching robes and it felt 'right' in comparison to 'daddy' even though she liked that too. He simply said that so long that it was his name she was screaming he did not care what nicknames she called out as well, but he did like it when she called him 'Sir'. She was already planning on how she would use it to raise his pulse in public settings.

Sunday had Severus spending the morning with his snakes leaving her free to return to Bromley and gush to her best friends over their secured phones over what happened. Nothing too graphic, for respect of Severus' privacy, but enough for her friends to know that she had had a fantastic night and she would make sure there were more of them in the future.

Later on when he had returned they had spent their evening enjoying their dinner in their garden and then languidly made out in their new swing chair. She had wanted more but decided not to push it. He seemed to be holding himself back once more but she would be patient. Heaven knows that she prefers it when he takes charge. Besides, he had bared his soul to her during the ritual and she was more than aware of why he tended to retreat into himself. It was fine, she would have patience for him.

A happy smile was still on her lips as she finished her report on her computer. Most of her work had been taken over by her subordinates but she still checked in with them every week and went over all of their reports to ensure everything was as it should. She had just finished when a large eagle swooped in and perched on the owl stand in her office.

Seeing the Gringotts seal alongside another caused her to squeal in delight. It was the Potter family seal, Harry had written to them again. The eagle watched her as she neared it and called for one of her elves. One look and they popped away and back in seconds with a tray full of raw meats and a water dish.

"Take your fill please." Adrianna said as her elf Milo removed the large packet from its massive talons. She took it happily and went back to her desk to open it.

It was a large packet so she guessed that he must have added his drawings as well. She delved into the packet with gusto and then was confused. While there did seem to be letters and pictures inside they had been placed inside a transparent pouch while a large and very official letter sat in front of it carrying both the Potter family seal as well as that of Gringotts. Curious, she opened the letter and was promptly shocked to her core.

In her hands was an official adoption request from Heir Potter ,and his guardians, for him to become her son. It wasn't even a simple guardianship type of adoption, oh no, it was a formal request for a full blood adoption.

Adrianna was glad she was sitting down because her legs would have given out at that moment had she been standing. Never would she have thought that this would have been an option. Objectively she knew that being adopted was an option Harry had but she had thought that he would have chosen to be emancipated and gone far away from Britain to do his schooling. This however had never crossed her mind.

Truly she must have thought it over for a few minutes but once she was sure of what she wanted to do she decided to just do it. Glancing at her watch she knew that Severus would be in classes so she headed for his office hoping his wards would let him know she was there.

Adrianna gathered the package in her hands and told the owl to have its fill and rest if it pleased as it would be a while before she gave a reply. Receiving an imperious stare she simply made her way to the main floo of their home to go back to Hogwarts. She allowed the posted guard by the floo to hear her destination and left. She knew they randomly followed to the school at times but this was not one. Making her way through the wards of her second home she entered their quarters and made for the secret staircase hiding the passageway to Severus' office.

When she finally passed into the room she felt his wards brush heavily over her and she knew it would not be long before Severus came to check on her. Deciding to make herself at home she sat behind the desk and placed the envelope down. It was hard to not rip into the rest of the package but she was determined to wait for Severus.

~Time skip~ (POV shift)

Severus warded his classroom door the moment the last little brat left the threshold. He made quick work of any remaining materials left behind and made a mental note to deduct points later for it. He hurried to his office through a hidden doorway hoping that Adrianna was still waiting for him in his office. He had been alerted the moment she walked past his wards and since she never sent him urgent word through their bracelets or by elf he simply assumed there was no hurry. At least he hoped that was the case, he wasn't 100% sure what she would consider an emergency.

Dashing quickly into his office he found his wife seated on his chair and was caught off guard by the attractive picture she painted. Even doing something as simple as sitting in his chair could stun him momentarily. Merlin I'm doomed.

"Is everything alright?" He asked as soon as his mind reengaged.

Adrianna smiled and stood up as she grasped the paperwork she had brought with her. Curious as to her excited state he made his way around the desk only to be shoved unceremoniously into his chair by his wife.

"Is there a reason-" He tried to say before she cut him off.

"Here. Just read." Adrianna said excitedly as she shoved the papers into his hands.

Stopping himself from a retort he did just as she said and was instantly grateful she had pushed him into the chair. His legs would not have held him up and heaven forbid if he dared fall on his wife in a dead faint.

He stared at the letter in his hands until Adrianna's soft hands clasped onto his forearm and shook him slightly out of his daze.

"What do you think?" She asked in a cautious tone.

"Do you wish to do this?" He asked her and finally looked at her. Her eyes were holding so much emotion behind those orbs that he knew her answer before she could vocalize it. The warmth growing in his chest told him how he felt about her decision as well. They would keep him safe.

"YES." She answered without hesitation.

He knew she would do this with or without his input. He wasn't upset about it, he actually liked that about her. Even the meager few days the boy had spent with them he knew she already loved him. Harry Potter had captured her heart, his as well if he was honest, from the moment she found him. They had worked together to get the boy to a safe place and heal and now the boy goes and does this. It would shake up their world. They would be in every paper in the country, no the continent. They would have to go against so many other families who would be insulted they had not been asked. The dark faction would want him to give them information and begin to court them. The light section would become unbearable in their attempts to meddle into their private lives. The headmaster would become nigh impossible to ignore. Their whole life would be under a magnifying glass. He hadn't missed that they asked Adrianna to blood adopt the boy, he understood why, her family would be able to protect them best. It was a smart decision on the goblins part. His child would become the sibling of the boy. When the Dark Lord returned it would paint an even bigger target on his back than before.

Hundreds of thoughts went flying by at light speed in his head but all that truly mattered to him was that aside from all of the negative things that would come their way at the end of the day he wanted this. The boy would be safest in Adriannas care and away from Dumbledore and Voldemort.

Severus stood up and gathered a startled Adrianna in his arms and kissed her deeply. As she melted into his embrace he joined their foreheads as they regained the ability to breathe again.

"Do it." He said gruffly as he pushed them closer together, ever mindful of her tiny bump. "Make him a part of our little family."

Her sobbing laughter was her answer to his statement as she jumped up into his arms and laughed. He simply held her up and spun her slowly as squealed her happiness with an infectious laughter.
Once she was set down again she kissed him soundly on his lips.

"Thank you Severus."

"For what?" He was puzzled as to why she would thank him. He was sure she would have gone ahead with it even if he had objected.

"For being onboard with this." She replied looking up at him. "I know it's been difficult to deal with being a husband and father suddenly and now I am asking you if you are okay with me adding another child into the mix." She paused as she grappled with her words. "Not many men would be dealing with all of this as well as you have."

That last statement actually got him to laugh out right. He had NOT dealt with it well at all. He still remembers his initial response to her letter. It was absurd. He found her looking at him in fond exasperation and took her into his arms so as to not allow her to think that he was making fun of her.

"I did not take it well my dear." He said, his tone full of mirth.

Adrianna smiled as she recalled his confession of losing his 'wits' to her letter.
"Still, I am happy that you are so understanding of all of this." She said.

A moment of silence passed as they simply held onto the other.

"This will change everything in our lives my dear." He said. He felt that he understood better than her as to just how badly their lives were about to be overrun. Everyone would have an opinion into their personal lives and would ensure they gave it to them.

Adrianna chuckled into his chest at his words.
"Honestly Severus. I'm a Vega. We don't do normal." She said coyly and then promptly laughed.

Severus allowed a small, tiny, smile to grace his lips.
"I am beginning to see that."

Pulling away from him she looked into his eyes as hers twinkled in mischief.
"Come on." She said as she pulled him to his chair once more. "We have a letter to reply to and an entire packet from Harry to go over." She said as she perched herself on his lap after making him sit down first. Not that he was complaining.

"Of course my dear." He said as he looked over her shoulder at the large packet they had been sent. It made him smirk as the random thought of James Potter rolling over in his grave at the thought of him being the stepfather to his son. Looking at the small child drawings of Adrianna and himself in stick figure form with a little circle over her belly for their baby had him thinking that Harry might like to try his hand at drawing as a hobby. He had an old sketching set he could give the boy, maybe it was something they could do together.

In another realm watching over them were the fates who smiled as another set decision was made to their liking. They were almost to where they wanted their champion to be, now they simply had to ensure all of their chosen pawns did as they wished. They were making sure to keep a close eye on Dumbledore. Men like him were just as unpredictable as they were predictable. They hadn't pushed the man to his limit yet but they would. And when they did they would make sure their chosen were where they needed them to be to bring him down and to them to answer for all of his crimes.
