'Sup guys! It's-a-me the guy-that-started-enjoying-writing-crack-with-unpredictable-plot-twists and I'm back with the second chapter of our nanite packed adventure. Yes, I know this isn't what like 99% of my - rapidly growing - fanbase wants, but it was sitting in my docs for some time now so I decided to upload it. Don't get your panties in a twist just yet though, cause I'm already working on the Stranded harem as well as the Hacker IzuxRumi.

With that said, let's get to comments for this series!:

Swaws - Well, probably not, nor will he become a political figure hellbent on making the mother of all omelettes. Although, ever played CoD Ghosts? Cause he might get a WMD and a private army!

landerprime - Um, eh, beats me to be honest. I scoured the code twice and found nothing akin to what you are reporting. The closest I got was 'Krupnik' a great vodka but that's just a weekend routine, so I'm still drawing a blank here...

And with that out of the way - the chapter!:

Vessel IM-01 is entering its final stage of development. All soft tissue, internal organs and bodily fluids were assimilated and reused to create surrogate substitutes. Memory Matrix has been successfully installed.

Warning. An error during installation corrupted some of the data resulting in an imperfect copy of the original mind. The amount of data lost is estimated to be around 13%. A copy of 87% is integral enough to continue the process.

Reminder - Vessel IM-01 will experience amnesia and lack of certain basic functions. Allocate resources to try and salvage the corrupted files at a later date.

Basic construction completed.

Mind download completed.

Running diagnostics…

Hearing and sight seem to be in perfect condition. Smell and touch are within the margin of error. We are still trying to figure out taste.

Diagnostics completed. The Vessel's integrity is at around 98%.

Hardware has been completed.

Preparing to download the software.

Running 'windows_14_Home_Office_Premium_Vista_ '.

Cracking the key. Key cracked.

Installation completed.

Final preparations.

Activating Hyperlink.

Initiating Heads Up Display.

Triangulating GPS coordinates.

Connecting to the nearest Wi-Fi.

Preparations complete.

Vessel IM-01 is ready. Initiating wake up sequence.

Blinking his eyes for the first time in two years was… weird. The bed he was laying in and the blanket over him were also weird. Izuku looked around the room and his eyes just so happened to land on the window, which proved to be an unfortunate mistake as he was instantly blinded by the intense light.

He closed his eyes shut in an instant though the sensation was different from what he remembered when he would sometimes stare at the sun when he was younger.

Ah yes, the Gamma seems to be a bit off, we'll adjust it shortly Host.

"This voice…", it sounded almost exactly like one of the ones he heard in that void that he spent the last two years of his life in.

My designation is GL4NS3-761/12, but you may refer to me as Glance if you prefer. I've been assigned as the assistant to Vessel IM-01 which your consciousness is currently occupying.

Gamma setting has been lowered to 40%.

There, you should be able to open your eyes now.

Izuku did just that and was amazed at how differently the world around him looked all of a sudden. It seemed so blurry and wacky just a minute ago and now everything was sharp, saturated with vivid colors and easily distinguishable instead of being one swirling mass of shades and colors and shapes.

I've taken the liberty to adjust other graphic settings whilst reducing gamma. Are my changes welcome or should I return them to default settings?

"Make these default settings for every future Vessel. Everything looks so vibrant. It's amazing", Izuku said in a flat voice.

Affirmative Host. Would you like to test the motor functions of your new body now?

"Sure", he decided without hesitation and felt his body spasm a few times before settling down.

Let's start with something simple. Try to get into a seated position.

Dull whirring echoed throughout his body as he slowly lifted his back from the bed and leaned forward. "This wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be", he murmured to himself.

We did our best to keep all the controls as intuitive as possible. Would you like for me to invert your head movement axis?

"Why would I want that?"

This option seemed to be very widely spread in the past so we've thought it important enough to implement into the IM-01 Vessel. Now that you've mastered simple movements we can get to something more complex. Try to sit on the edge of the bed without falling to the floor.

"Since when is doing something once considered 'mastering' it? Did the world change unrecognizably when I was asleep?"

We care not for the amount of experience you possess in doing certain tasks. What matters is your ability to complete said tasks with ease, perfection and understanding.

"This sounds weirdly logical…", Izuku thought to himself as he carefully swung his legs to the side and then scooted closer to the edge of the bed.

We took some liberties whilst recreating your mind to make it more adept at learning, storing information and understanding our way of computing.

"You mean thinking, right?"

We are machines. We do not think. We gather data, analyze and compute. And so do you.

Yet again Izuku found himself intuitively agreeing with the explanation as if it was common knowledge which, to him, it was.

He slipped off the bed and landed on his feet, standing upright for the first time in years.

You should be more careful about such abrupt movements. Vessel IM-01 is a very advanced construct, but even we have our limits, so we weren't able to test everything we wanted, including how the Vessel handles quick changes in applied force. We may not be able to simulate whiplash or anything of the sort, but the Vessel can sustain damage. We will be maintaining it while it enters sleep mode.

The boy listened attentively to his assistant as she talked about all the different things he had to watch out for. With her warning in mind, Izuku carefully made his way over to the sole window in his room.

"Is there anything else I should know about?"

Yes. Your biological parents are approaching the room for their weekly visit.

"I guess it's time for a family reunion"

The doors opened a few moments later and Inko came in, followed closely by Sekijiro. A brief look of panic crossed their faces when they spotted the empty bed, but then quickly noticed their son standing next to the window.

"Hello mother. Father", Izuku nodded in their direction with a polite smile on his face and then was momentarily assaulted by both of his parents. Yup, this was going to take a while to calm down.

It didn't matter though, because now that he was awake he had all the time in the world.

As it turns out, having a Pro Hero that teaches at UA as your father came with an entire slew of benefits, especially when it came to getting accustomed to his new Quirk.

We find that remark deeply insulting. We've been around since our host turned four years old, but were merely asleep.

Izuku found himself ignoring the voices in his head because he was currently locked in a staring contest with some hobo that was about to exit the teacher's lounge. Glance provided all the available info about the man, but he still looked like a hobo and Izuku decided to refer to him as such, at least privately. He recalls his father talking about Shota 'Eraserhead' Aizawa being a coworker of his and he would rather not antagonize his father's friends.

"Hello, I've come to bring father his lunch", Izuku flatly explained while not tearing his gaze away from the man in front of him.

"Oh, is that a kid?!", Aizawa was suddenly and violently shoved to the side as a purple-haired woman rushed towards the door. "Aww you look adorable!", she cooed at his sight. This was of course none other than the R-Rated Heroine herself - Nemuri Kayama. Another one of his father's friends.

She was in turn shoved away as Sekijiro's impressive form came into view. "I thought I forgot something this morning! Thanks for the save son!", the man gave a thumbs up which Izuku mirrored with a flat expression on his face.

"Hold up listener!", Mic finally reacted to the commotion. "Since when do you have a son?!"

"It turns out I had a son for the past sixteen years, but that's a long story!", Sekijiro revealed with a sheepish smile.

"Wait, how did he even enter the school grounds without a valid pass?", Shota asked as he got up from the floor.

"Oh, Glance searched up Nezu's personal number and I asked him to give me one"

"And he did just that?"

"He's an agent of chaos after all. Why wouldn't he do such a random thing?", Izuku shrugged as if he was stating something pretty obvious.

"Kid's logic is on point, gotta give him that", Aizawa summed up, already feeling done with this conversation.

"Of course. My programming disallows me from making illogical choices most of the time"

I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation Host, but Mother wishes for you to fetch some ingredients for dinner.

"Thanks Glance. I have to go Father, Mother sent me a shopping list. It was nice meeting you all", he bowed in the direction of the other teachers before stepping back into the hallway and heading for the exit.

"Wow… That was one of the most random encounters of my entire life", the three Pros thought simultaneously.

Time went by and these random encounters became more and more frequent, until it became a part of the routine where Nemuri would coo over how cute Izuku was and Aizawa finding a weird sense of camaraderie with the boy.

A new school year was approaching fast and Sekijiro, who had been absent for Izuku's first fourteen years or so, tried his best to make time for his son everyday. Sometimes it led to Kan simply taking him to UA. It was something that all the students wondered about when seeing the green-haired boy, but none of them voiced their confusion, opting to simply shrug and carry on with their days.

Izuku would sometimes disappear throughout the day to challenge, and most of the time beat the principal at chess or shogi or whatever the chimera came up with.

Nezu was one of the very few people aware of Kan's relations with his son as well as the boy's curious condition. And to say he was interested in learning more about the green-haired enigma would be an understatement of the year.

Nezu loved torturing his staff and students almost as much as he loved a good challenge, but with his Quirk thrown into the mix there weren't exactly many people who could offer said challenge to him. One of them was Sir Nighteye, a man whose Quirk allowed him to basically see the future and yet Nezu still could reliably beat him in shogi on a good day. It was a given then, that someone capable of not only seeing through but literally dismantling all of his tactics would be of interest to the chimera.

Not all of their meetings ended in a not-so-friendly match of chess. Sometimes they would spend hours talking about all kinds of advanced sciences with Izuku surprising the principal every now and then with his very intimate understanding of said sciences. Things looked much different however when talking about less scientific topics like philosophy.

It was impossible for Izuku to process something as simple as emotions due to a complete lack of knowledge on the subject. The internet was not helping either because every time Glance tried to explore anything even remotely close to emotions all she got was a bunch of gibberish and a few studies which usually contradicted each other in their conclusion.

No emotions also had the side effect of making Izuku apathetic to everything around him, which meant that nothing really excited or interested him. He had a drive to learn, but it was something implanted deep within, making him act like a conscious AI.

All of this resulted in one meaningful conversation.

It started off with yet another chess match with Nezu. They liked to discuss the tactical depth of the current board, but this time the rodent chimera had a different topic in mind.

"What are your plans for the future?", this one simple question derailed the boy's entire train of thought.

"For the future?", he asked curiously.

"What school would you like to go to next? What would you like to do afterwards?"

Future was malleable and thus of no interest to the machine intelligence in Midoriya's brain. That's why suddenly having to think of it was a weird thing.

"Ah, I see I've mentioned something that you've not put much thought into, is that right?", Nezu asked with a mischievous glint in his eye as he sipped his tea. "Would you like to hear my opinion?", the chimera had to stop himself from cackling like a madmammal when he received a nod in response.

The principal of UA was not only eager to discuss this topic with the son of his employee, but had actually orchestrated for this to happen in order to influence Izuku in his favor. Nezu knew that the boy had a tremendous amount of potential and in his case the sky was not by any means the limit. It would be a shame to see a Quirk that powerful and a mind that sharp be wasted in some random office in an everyday 9-to-5 grind.

Besides, Nezu liked playing favorites and Izuku quickly became his obsession. What can I say, he loved a good challenge.

Izuku and Glance listened intently to what was being said as that conversation would be a turning point in their development. All nanite entities seemed to drink up the 'for the good of the people' as well as the 'protect and serve' gimmicks that Nezu presented in the most dramatic and over the top way possible.

"Now that you've heard me out, let me ask again. What are your plans for the future?", Nezu repeated the very question that started this conversation.

Permission to add a new routine to the OS?

"Granted. I want to become a hero", Izuku stated calmly and Nezu couldn't help but explode with maniacal laughter.

Memory reallocation has been completed. Changes to the OS and the Organic Memory Matrix are now permanent.

Routine 'Protect and Serve' has been created.

And thus began Izuku's path to becoming the Nanite Hero: Contingency.

Yes, it's crack. No, I'm not sorry. Yes, I'll continue this in the background. No, it won't get better.

Anyways, if you are here then thank you for reading, have a great day and I hope to see you in the next chapter!
