YEARS AGO:
Norman Osborn was being marched from the police prescient and into a secure truck that was in their yard. There was basically every single cop in the city aiming their guns at him.
Yuri was front and center, holding Sable Enterprises weaponry to use against Norman in case the guns fail. Peter was also there, leaving Richard in his apartment to heal from the wound he received just the other day.
"Stand still. No sudden movements, Osborn." Yuri warned him with a stern voice. "Otherwise..." She then raised the gun to his chest. "And I'm very trigger happy today."
Norman just stood there, smiling and staying silent at the warning, and raised his hands with reinforced handcuffs attached.
Yuri looked at Peter and saw the syringe in his hand. "Do what you need to do."
Peter walked over and injected the syringe into his neck and took some of his blood. Norman winced at the needle in his neck while Peter drew enough blood to fill it and removed it.
"He's all yours," Peter told Yuri and leaped, landing on a light post before shooting a web and making it back to his place.
Yuri then gestured to the guards around Norman to put him in the vehicle and they did just that, putting the monster inside of the truck and closing it.
"Good riddance." Yuri was happy to see the end of the Green Goblin.
Peter made it back to his place and saw Dick on the couch, eating some leftover pizza. He was laying there, watching some late-night television.
"How'd it go?" Dick asks him.
"I was putting my lifelong enemy behind bars," Peter stated as he removed his mask. "The man who murdered Gwen. It felt great for me."
"I'd bet," Dick stated.
"When do you go home again?" Peter wonders.
"Bruce said it's best to not travel with a wound, to avoid suspicion," Dick explains to him and gestured to the wound on his hip. "You know, the one I got keeping you from doing something stupid."
"If only I could do the same for you," Peter replied and dropped down next to him. "What's on?"
"Cable," Dick replied. "Who still uses cable?"
"The people who are broke," Peter replied with a sigh.
"Fair enough." Dick supposed as the two crossed their legs and placed them on the coffee table.
The two of them sat back and relaxed, feeling they finally deserved the night off from crime-fighting and kickback. The city won't destroy itself without its heroes after one night.
Right?
"So what was that with his blood?" Dick wonders.
"I think I might be able to develop an antiserum for the mutation that turned him into the Goblin." Peter explained. "But it's something I won't be able to get into tonight. I...need time to cool down."
"Good idea." Dick replied.
PRESENT DAY:
The Justice League made it to the location that Kaine gave them and discovered a CADMUS facility as he said. They stayed out so they wouldn't be picked up by detectors and come up with a plan.
Cyborg was ahead of them, scanning the facility from the distance, with the help of one of Peter's gadgets known as Spider-Bots. He got as close as he could and was able to use the X-Ray vision on the drone.
"So, how are we doing?" Barry asked as he kneeled on the dirt and leaned close to Victor, too close for comfort.
"Fine. Now let me work." Victor demanded and Barry backed away.
"He's getting it done," Barry confirmed with a smile.
"He'll be doing better if you leave him alone," Kaine tells him, irritated by the speedster.
Barry backed away and went over to Peter. "Yikes, he's like you minus the fun."
"Well, that only proves there's one Spider-Man." Peter joked, wishing he was able to bring his phone to check on Z and Jessica, but they all left their devices behind so they couldn't be tracked.
Otto would be able to ping them in seconds if they had any technology that he is familiar with. Luckily for them, Bruce has access to technology he doesn't and can cloak their location.
"What about the kid?" Arthur asked him, referring to Miles.
"He's different. He's Kid Arachnid." Peter denied the statement.
"I heard you calling him Spider-Man," Barry replied.
"That was to make him feel better," Peter replied quickly and got up, stomping away at the thought of Miles taking his name.
Bruce and Diana watch them from a distance, and he sighed at their childish behavior.
"Those children. Do you think Peter can reason with them?" Diana wonders.
Bruce looked over to her and over to Peter, who indeed was always thinking of what he was going to do. "Peter has talked down the worst of criminals to question their actions. He convinced the Sandman to go straight many years ago. And just in case he can't talk them down, he has the power to defeat them."
Diana nodded, understanding Peter's want to save those kids. "Norman Osborn was a sick man. Twisted the minds of innocent children to do his bidding."
"I've only met the man for business deals to do with Wayne Enterprises," Bruce informed her. "But from what Richard told me about him, he was a lunatic that never stopped. Kept trying to twist Peter into his image."
"It was like that old saying: An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object," Peter commented as he kept walking back and forth.
"Sorry, Peter. We didn't mean for you to hear that." Diana apologizes sweetly.
"You talk loud, we're a short distance from one another, and I've got enhanced hearing." Peter reminded the two of them.
"He's right," Arthur commented.
"Ditto," Kaine added on.
"Sorry." Barry agreed he eavesdropped.
"And if I can't turn them...I'll do what needs to be done." Peter promises them, he didn't want to do it but he would do what was necessary. Even if it means Sarah and Gabriel needed to die. But he won't let it come to that.
"Peter, are you sure?" Barry asks. "These are your kids."
"Technically, his ex's kids," Arthur said.
"Not helping," Barry replied to the king.
"How long until the fastest man in the world gets here?" Kaine wonders as he kneels on one leg while placing his elbow against it.
"Well, he still needs to explain our predicament to Shazam and get him to agree and get here." Peter reminded his clone as he came over and did his best to copy the action of his clone.
Kaine noticed the action and became confused. "What are you doing?"
Peter looked at him and just stopped copying his action. "Sorry."
Kaine knew it was weird for him, seeing his own face just all scorched and burned. So, in order to help, he decided to ease the tension. "I know it's weird. I'm sorry for all of this."
"Not your fault that someone stole my blood samples and created clones out of it," Peter promises and looked over to him. "Honestly, it's kinda cool." He then grew a smile on his face. "I've always wanted a brother."
"Isn't he technically your son?" Barry asks. "Since he is born out of your blood?"
That's when the group went silent and realized he was technically right. But Peter and Kaine were happier with the idea that they were brothers than father and son.
"You just made this weird," Peter told Barry.
"Extremely." Kaine agreed.
NEW YORK:
For the third time in his (her) life, 'Peter Parker' found himself (herself) digging into a grave from the past to retrieve information to solve a problem of today. Jessica Drew and Zatanna Zatara were digging into the grave of one and only Norman Osborn.
Zatanna thought using magic would be too much as it would draw too much attention, but she could distract anyone who came over to them with her magic. One or two people are easier to handle than a squad of them who noticed her.
Zatanna adjusted the sunglasses she was wearing and got back to digging, as well as the winter coat and hat as it began to snow. "So...Peter told me Norman's body was confiscated by the government. Why are we digging for him here?"
Jessica sighed and stopped digging to wipe the sweat off her head. "It's easier to start from the beginning." She decided to finally tell her the whole story. "I had Norman in custody." She panted as she tried to explain. "One way trip to a cell of some off-site. For all that I cared, they could have thrown him in a hole and threw away the hole."
"Yeah, Peter never spoke kindly of him," Zatanna replied, knowing it's understandable. "I don't blame him."
"Afterwards...I was with Grayson for the night..." Jessica then realized what she was saying and stopped. "Okay, I'm gonna stop referring it to me, because this is weird."
"Yeah." Jessica agreed.
"What...Peter didn't know was that the Goblin had a second glider. That's what he thought he was working with when he interrupted him back at the lair." Jessica explains and gets back to work and lets Z relax for a moment. "Now I know he was finding out of my kids had his powers." She muttered to herself.
YEARS AGO:
On that same day, Norman was still handcuffed, two trusted and dedicated ARGUS agents were at both of his sides as he was being driven off with several decoy vehicles in case anyone got any bright ideas. The five of them sat there in silence and were just waiting to get to their destination. An airplane strip was cleared off with only a handful of people having access to it.
"I'm not a religious man..." Norman broke the silence, finally speaking since being captured, "but my wife, she was. Tried to get my son into it. But this one story... there was a man. He was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho... when he was set upon by men of ill intent. They stripped the traveler of his clothes, they beat him, and they left him... bleeding in the dirt. And a priest happened by... saw the traveler... but he moved to the other side of the road and continued on. And then a Levite, a religious functionary, he... came to the place, saw the dying traveler... but he too moved to the other side of the road, passed him by."
As he talked, his glider started to slowly pave its way across the sky, making its way across the sky towards the route that they were taking.
"But then came a man from Samaria, a Samaritan, a good man. He saw the traveler bleeding in the road and he stopped to aid him without thinking of the circumstance or the difficulty it might bring him. The Samaritan tended to the travelers' wounds, applying oil and wine. And he carried him to an inn, gave him all the money he had for the owner to take care of the traveler, as the Samaritan, he... continued on his journey. He did this simply because the traveler was his neighbor. He loved his city and all the people in it. I always thought that I was the Samaritan in that story. " He then looked down at his hands and broke the cuffs with ease as he chuckled. "It's funny, isn't it? How even the best of men can be... deceived by their true nature."
"What the hell does that mean?" One of them asked him, unsure what he was saying.
"It means that I'm not the Samaritan. That I'm not the priest or the Levite. That I am the ill intent... who set upon the traveler on a road that he should not have been on." Norman finished his story.
That's when the glider finally attacked, dropping several pumpkin bombs from itself and exploding, sending all of the trucks flying and crashing into one another.
Across the city, Peter and Dick looked and saw the explosions and knew exactly what was going on and reacted. "Norman." He quickly stood up and grabbed his mask and suit.
"Need backup?" Dick asked.
"No. You've done enough." Peter promises him. "Norman is my problem, and you can't reopen that wound."
Dick sighed and laid back down, knowing his friend wouldn't kill Norman this time. He was going to do what was right. Take him down, let him face justice the right way.
"Go get him, Spidey." Dick encourages his friend.
Peter smiled and placed his mask on before leaping out the window. This has gone on for ten years. Norman has terrorized this city, killed too many people, killed Gwen, and his own son. This is when it all ends.
PRESENT DAY:
Miles was back at Z and Peter's place, just trying to lay low and wait for them to come back and wait for a plan. Kraven is a dangerous criminal that he didn't think he could take on alone. He knew he couldn't take Kraven on alone.
As he kept his head down in their condo, he wondered what to do next when something caused his senses to go off. Then that's when an arrow came in, causing him to dodge it and to embed itself into the island.
Miles then looked out the window of where it came out of and saw Kraven across the way, getting ready to shoot off another arrow. Miles ran across the house and dodged the arrows with his senses before ducking underneath the couch.
"Yes. Run, little Spider." Kraven said in joy, loving the thrill of the hunt. "It will make the win more rewarding!"
Miles then tried to turn invisible, but his time was limited. It wears off pretty fast, so he needed to act quickly. Kraven made his way into their home. He smashed the glass and lets the cold and snow in as he stormed through, looking for Miles.
