It was now October 18, 1952, after the drama at the LaTierris' household, Diane was sitting in the kitchen with Dylan next to her, talking about Zoey, who was now missing. "I tried calling, but she never picks up." Diane says. "I'm worried."

Dylan kissed her head.

"It's gonna be alright, honey." Dylan comforted her.

"Mom! Dad!" They looked over to see Danny walking in.

"Yeah son?" Dylan asked.

"Aunt Zoey abandoned Zack." He told them.

The parents froze in their seats, shocked that her big sister would abandoned her own son.

"What?" Dylan asked as they stood up.

"Sweetheart, are you sure?" Diane asked.

Danny nods.

"Yeah. Putzie, Doody and Eugene said that he told them that Aunt Zoey woke him up in the middle of the night to say goodbye to him and Zack, understandably was confused, asked her why and when she'll be coming back." Danny explained. "But she didn't answers his question and just told him that she'll always love him and that her leaving ain't because of him."

Diane covers her mouth with her hand.

"Oh dear…" Diane whispers.

"How could Zoey do this to her kid?" Dylan asked angrily.

"Dylan." Diane started.

"Diane, she abandoned her own freakin' child!" Dylan snapped.

"I'm sorry mom, dad." Danny tells them. "I just knew that you both need to hear that."

Diane kissed his head.

"Thank you, dear." She said.

Danny nods and went back out back with the other kids.

"Diane, I'm sorry for snappin' at ya, but…" Dylan started.

"I know, honey." Diane spoke. "It's just…I can't believe that she'd do such a thing."

"It's that really a surprise?" Dylan asked.

Diane looks up at her husband for a second and then shook her head.

"Nope. Not really." She admits. "But how are we gonna explain to a 6 years old kid that his mother is never coming back?"

Dylan kissed her head.

"She's not?" They looked over to see Zack at the entrance of the kitchen with a sad face.

They felt their hearts break for the kid.

"She said she'll be back." Zack adds.

"Oh Zack, sweetheart I am so sorry." Diane said hugging him.

"Boy, I must've been a horrible child." Zack says.

Diane felt her heart break while Dylan felt rage at his sister-in-law and her deadbeat boyfriend.

"No Zack, you are a great kid." Diane told her. "You're amazing."

Zack sniffs.

"Oh yeah? I bet you guys are gonna abandon me just like she did!" Zack shouts as he runs up the stairs to Danny's bedroom.

"Zack!" Dylan called out.

He ran up the stairs to Danny's bedroom to see Zack lying in his bed, crying. He felt his heart break for the boy. He hated seeing the poor child, so heartbroken and depressed.

"Go away!" Zack cried.

Dylan sat down on the bed and puts a comforting hand on his back.

"Zackary, you know very well that we'll never ever leave you or hurt you." Dylan tells him. "You are a great kid."

Zack looks up at his Uncle.

"And it's not your fault that your folks are idiots." Dylan adds.

Zack lets out a sniffle.

"You need to believe me buddy," Dylan said. "It was never ever your fault."

Zack lets out a sigh.

"You have real family who loves you." Dylan added. "Me, your Auntie Diane, the kids, your grandparents and all of your Uncles and Aunts. We all love you so very, very, very much."

"But why does my heart hurt?" Zack asked.

Dylan felt his heart break for his nephew.

"That's because it's broken right now." He told him. "But I promise you that you'll be a lot happier and your heart will be whole and healed again." Zack wipes his tears away from his eyes.

Dylan lets out a sigh.

"I promise I won't let anyone hurt you or leave you." Dylan said.

"Promise?" Zack asked.

"I promise, kiddo." Dylan smiled.

Zack sits up and hugged him.

"Thank you, Uncle Dylan." Zack mutters.

Dylan hugged him tightly and kissed his head.

"Anytime kid." Dylan said. "C'mon, you and I can go back to your house, to grab few of your things."

"Where am I'm gonna stay?" Zack asked.

"You'll be staying with us for awhile." Dylan smiled.

"Thanks!" Zack smiled.

They both walked out of the bedroom, Dylan and the boys went to Zack's house to pack up Zack's thing, so Zack can live with the Zukos' for awhile. Zack was still heartbroken about his own mother walking out on him, but he knew he had real families who actually loved him.
