A/N: I know it's been a while, but Uni started and I've been super busy, I hope that this chapter makes up for it!
Chapter Seventeen
Pheromones
Heisenberg pulled his hair back into a messy tie before rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He blinked blearily and pushed himself off the edge of his bed. He wasn't tired, but he had been decidedly not ready to get up from the comforts of his bed. He let out a sigh and stretched. Elle was the source of his current discomfort, the woman wanted to spar with him before they went out for the day- just where she was taking him, he did not know, but he wasn't adverse to leaving the facility for the day. He just had not wanted to wake up.
He slowly dragged himself across the cold floor and towards his bathroom, he shivered as he stepped into the room and his feet hit the cold tiles. How was the bathroom floor colder than his bedroom was unknown. Regretting his decision to not put his slippers on, he groaned and blinked as the lights turned on. He was not in the mood to be getting up early for a spar. He rubbed his eyes and looked at himself in the mirror, he looked like shit- he felt like shit.
"She owes me a beer." He mumbled, reaching for his toothbrush. He did not need to brush his teeth. To the best of his knowledge his teeth were not going to rot- however, according to Elle, and Ethan, his breath did, in fact, rot. He wondered when he had started to care about that sort of thing.
Spitting into the sink, he reached for the handles and turned them. He cupped his hands together and collected some water, he swallowed, gargled and spat. Wiping his mouth, he grimaced at the slimy feeling of the toothpaste against the skin of his hand. He reached for a nearby towel and wiped his hand- frowning as he realized that he should have just used the towel to wipe his mouth. He sucked in a breath and sighed, already beginning to feel the mood that would encompass him today.
Splashing some water against his face, he wiped himself with the towel and dropped it in the corner of the room. Turning he gathered some clothes and went about dressing himself. He felt his skin sing as the fresh linen slid across it- nearly three years later and he still had trouble comprehending the comfort items that he had. He pulled a singlet over his head and adjusted it, before moving onto his shoes. He was sluggish in his movements, he wanted to go back to sleep. His shoelaces tied themselves and he smiled at his own ingenuity in putting little pieces of metal at the ends.
With a grunt, he pulled himself up from the bed and walked out of the room, the door shutting behind him with a click. He looked down the always and noted that it was empty, while this was not an uncommon occurrence, what was, was the fact that Ethan's room was dark and seemed to be void of the man. He frowned, wondering where Ethan was briefly, before shaking his head and continuing down the hallway. There were plenty of places that Ethan could be- The man could even be stuck training with Elle, lord knows that the woman did not like letting people sleep in.
He turned down another hallway and made way for the gym. He shifted his shoulders while he walked, attempting to loosen them up before being subjected to fighting. As he reached the gym the door opened and he stepped through the threshold. As he stepped into the training room, his eyes widened at the sight of Elle swinging his hammer around like it was a sword. He had not seen his hammer in two years- it had been put into storage while he had been in recovery, but now it seemed as though they had finally seen fit to take it out.
He watched with a wry smirk as the smaller woman continued to swing the hammer. The item was nearly as big as she was, and she was moving it as though it weighed nothing. "That's mine." His lips curled into a smirk. He folded his arms across his chest and stepped towards her.
Elle halted and turned to him with a sheepish smile. "I just wanted to give it a try." She made no effort to give the item back, instead choosing to continue practicing with it. Effortlessly swinging it around, the wight not bothering her- though it did seem to bother one of the training dummies when she snapped it from its floor support.
Heisenberg watched her as she flailed his weapon around. Watched the way her body moved, the watched the way that the tank top clung to her, showing each of her curves and the way her muscles clenched as she moved. She was attractive, he mused, then frowned. Yes, she was attractive, but as he continued to watch her, he realised that she was not attractive to him, but something about her was attracting his attention to her where it had never before. He had seen her dressed like this before and it had never been an issue, why then now? He tapped his fingers against his arms as he continued to watch her.
"Ethan might have strong feelings about you checking me out." Elle sent him a cheeky smile and poked her tongue out.
He grumbled, wanting both to strike her, and smell her. Though the mention of Ethan did take his attention from her as an image of Daddy Winters flashed in his mind. He frowned at her and his fingers tapped faster as his glare pierced her. Her grin widened, teasingly and he lunged forwards reaching his arm out, electricity thrumming from his fingers as he called his hammer to him.
Elle jumped back, her grip on the hammer strong, as though he had not even called it to him. But there was an indication that she had put effort into holding onto it- the slight tensing in her arm telling Heisenberg that she was working to hold onto it.
"Ah ah ah~" she sang with a wag of her finger. "You didn't say please." She winked and jumped back again as he lunged forwards. She let out a strained cackle and leaped back. "Not bad." Her breasts heaved as she let out a heavy breath. "I might actually need to put some effort in…" her arm muscles let out sounds as they shifted, becoming larger.
He blinked and shook his head as something triggered in his head. His fists clenched, and he called his hammer to him, again she let out a sound and his body shuddered in response. He briefly noticed the way her arm grew with each call to the hammer- this didn't surprise him, he had seen her arm transform before. A bead of sweat ran down his neck as he made a lunge for her, he heard her giggle as she waved the weapon out of his way.
His frowned as the room around him began to sway- or was it he that was swaying? A hot flush swept over him. The fluorescent lights of the gym suddenly seeming too much for him, too intense. His shirt rubbed against his chest and he shuddered, the material seeming too scratchy for him. His muscles twitched and he found himself stepping towards the nearby punching bag. He almost reached out to it for support, his head spinning. He let out a shaky breath, he tried to frown, but he was unable to- what was happening to him?
"You alright, Karl?" Elle's voice seemed so close to him. It held a smoothness that seemed to wrap around him like a warm pair of arms. He closed his eyes briefly, then jumped as he opened them and saw her standing in front of him- specifically, her chest.
He shook his head and closed his eyes again. He let out a shuddering breath, his chest heaving as he felt an urge, to do what he did not know. He reached out for the punching bag, his knees feeling weak. He had never felt something like this before. When he had been a boy, he had had fevers, especially after Miranda had taken him, but this felt different- this was different. His body shook as a hand touched his shoulder, the cool fingers burning against his flesh.
"I'll go get the boss." She placed the hammer to the floor beside him, it dropped against the padded floor almost soundlessly. As she lifted her hand from his shoulder, he instantly felt relief. "Just give me two minutes. With that said she fled the room.
As the door shut with a click, Heisenberg's mouth shot open as he sucked in a gush of air. His vision began to clear, as did his fever. He blinked, the room was no longer spinning. He found the strength to frown. What in the world had happened? He let go of the punching bag and grasped for his hammer. He still felt hot and a little woozy, but he was feeling much better than he had been. He tested taking a step, his body felt heavy and then he realised that while he had been focusing on the issues surrounding the rest of his body, he had failed to notice the issue that had formed between his legs. He shuddered as he took another step- apparently the pants created a wonderful friction. His brow furrowed and his mouth slipped open as he attempted to understand what had happened to his body.
He looked around the gym, his eyes locked onto the bench leaning against the mirror wall. He walked awkwardly to the bench and squatted himself down to sit. He knew that he probably should have gone to his room to deal with his affliction, but he also understood that something was happening to his body and he needed someone to help him figure it out.
"Fucking hell." He murmured, resting his forearms on his knees and looked down at the shiny wooden part of the gym's floor.

Elle shut the door behind her and scurried down the hallway towards Wesker's office. She had a theory which led her to thinking that she knew what the issue with Heisenberg could be. Only, the dates were off- she had booked time off months ago in preparation, she was very aware of the dates when it would happen, and now was not it.
She turned down another hallway. Knowing that the dates were wrong, that left the other option of there being something seriously wrong with the man. Wesker needed to know, and as such would need to examine him- perhaps he was sick? Or perhaps he was due to suffer a similar affliction to her own. Either way, he needed to be seen to- she just hoped that it was nothing too serious, she had grown attached to the man.
"Sherry!" a voice called out to her, she turned to see a man in a white lab coat, Luis, walking up to her- she frowned, wasn't he supposed to be here next cycle?
He came to a stop in front of her. A small pant escaping his lips, indicating that he had been running. "I need to do a check up- you're on my physical list," he let out a cough- he needed to get in shape. He shook his shoulder, indicating for her to follow after him- he frowned as she shook her head and he hummed questioningly with a tilt of his head.
Elle began to walk back in the direction of the gym, back to Heisenberg. "Karl's not feeling one hundred percent-" she waved impatiently for him to follow her. "Hurry up!"
As he realised what she was talking about, he jolted into action and followed after her. A serious expression took his face, he followed after her while mentally preparing himself. When Elle was worried about someone, he took it seriously- and from the pace that she had adopted, she was worried about Heisenberg. He moved into a jog as she all but flung the gym door open and flew into the room. He caught the door before it shut and stepped into the room. His lips curled downwards he caught sight of Heisenberg hunched over sitting on the bench.
Heisenberg lifted his head and looked up at Elle, his eyes flickering between her and Luis. "You weren't lying when you said that you'd be two minutes." He chuckled, beads of sweat forming on his head. His fists clenched and his eyes squeezed shut. A shallow breath escaped his lips. His fists clenching.
Luis' brows furrowed as he took in the sight of the other man. He was pale- paler than usual. He had not seen Heisenberg looking both this flushed, and pale in a long time, not since the man had been recovering. He took note of the sweating and slight tremble in his muscles. The man was running a fever, but why? Had he some form of infection? For someone like Heisenberg, a fever was a commodity, it needed to be taken seriously.
Elle took a step closer to the man, who let out a strangled moan, his knuckles going white. "You okay?" she touched his shoulder and looked back to Luis, concern etched on her face. "What do you think? What should we do?"
Luis observed the man for a stretch of time before glancing back at Elle. His dark eyes flashing. "Let's get him to bed, then you can get my med-bag."
Nodding in response, Elle knelt beside Heisenberg and wrapped an arm around his waist. He grunted at her as she pulled him up to stand. "We'll take you to bed."
She smiled weakly at him. He swayed on his feet but she held onto him strong. The trek back to his bedroom was a long one, Heisenberg needed constant moments to pause to catch his breath. Luis watched him every step of the way. His eyes scanned over the other man, taking in every step, every sound and every movement that the other did, with every step they took, Luis searched through his brain for a number of hypotheses.
When they arrived at Heisenberg's bedroom, Elle guided him into the bed. She took the time to make sure that he was comfortable and secure on the bed. Once she was satisfied that he was comfortable. She turned to Luis. "What did you need me to do?" she asked, bushing her plait over her shoulder.
Heisenberg let out another moan and Luis eyed him. "I need.." he murmured. "Get my doctors bag.. in my office." He did not watch Elle as she left the room. His eyes focusing on the fact that as Elle left the room, his patients breathing became less laboured and evened out. Interesting. He scanned across the other's body and took in the fact that Heisenberg, while still looking awful, had a marked improvement since she left. He paused in his scanning as he noticed a bulge. He let out a sigh- he would take the man's bloods, but he had a feeling that he knew what the problem was.
"When did your symptoms begin?" he asked as he walked to the chair at the desk. He pulled the chair out and moved it to sit beside the man's bed. He then sat down and looked over the other.
"Sparring with Elle." He replied with a sucked in breath. He looked completely displeased with his situation. "F-felt strange, went down from there." His breath went shaky.
"Have any strange urges?" Luis sighed as the other jumped in response to his words. He watched as Heisenberg's eyes slid down, then looked back at him.
"Ja." He replied, sounding somewhat ashamed of himself. He briefly caught eyes with Luis but looked away quickly. He sucked in a breath and grasped at his stomach, a groan of pain escaping his lips.
Luis hummed and tapped his hands against his knees. "Burning?" he quipped, when Heisenberg nodded, he continued. "abdominal discomfort?" again another nod. Luis replied with a nod of his own and scanned the pained man again. "I have a theory." He began quietly, watching to see the other's reaction.
Sucking in a breath, his eyes scrunched in pain. He hummed, prompting Luis. It was clear that he wanted know what was happening- even if it was a theory. The bed made noises as he rolled in pain. He was in agony a blissfully painful agony. As Luis watched the man turn a strange combination of flushed and pale- he took pity on him and inched forward with the intention of sharing his theory.
"Elle's releasing pheromones." He said simply.
Heisenberg's face scrunched as he tried to process the words that had just been said to him. "What?" he hissed. His face spasmed and his aura seemed to sour, in fact, the aura of the room seemed to take old a cold chill. Luis felt a chill run down his spine. "That shit affects-" he let out a groan. "-me?"
Luis nodded. "I had been curious, you were never around her when it happened-" he tapped his fingers against his knees. "She keeps track of when it starts, a calendar, but apparently it's started early." He glanced at the door. "When she get's back I'll send her away." He looked back at Heisenberg, his eyes softening. "I'll call on Alfred, he'll need to organize for Urias and Alexis to stay in another home for the next week or so."
"Why… Why are you okay?"
Luis clicked his tongue. "My infection is… minute enough that I don't really feel anything from her…" he chuckled and leaned back in the chair. "Wesker can't be in the same building as her when it happens. Jack used to tear the gym apart when…" he frowned. "I don't know if it affects Claire, she's usually indisposed when it's happening."
Heisenberg glared at Luis. He did not see what was so funny about this. "And Ethan?" he prompted.
Luis paused, his brows creasing. "I'll have to hunt him down and investigate- as soon as I deal with this." The sound of footsteps could be heard outside the room, indicating that someone was heading towards them. "That's probably Elle now." he turned in his chair to face the door.
Luis' theory proved to be correct as the door opened, revealing a disheveled Elle, in her arms a leather doctor's bag. She thrust the bag at Luis then stepped back, distancing herself from the room as Heisenberg let out a sound, his chest heaving as he sucked in a breath. She scanned him over, her eyes wild, and her chest heaving. She then turned her gaze to Luis.
"I need to go." She said.
"I know." He replied simply before raising his hand in a wave. "Safe travels."
"I saw Ethan…" she said hesitantly. "Hopefully it wasn't long enough- I-" Luis let out a hum, causing her to jump. "Sorry! Goodbye!" the sound of her feet tapping could be heard as she ran from them.
With a shake of his head, Luis placed the bag on the floor and opened it with a click. He hummed a little song as he pulled out the tools he needed to take blood from the other man. He eventually had everything he needed and turned to Heisenberg. He took the others arm and slipped a band around his upper arm. Heisenberg watched him wordlessly as the other man prompted his veins to rise and slipped the needle into the skin. He flinched, causing Luis to chuckle.
"Want me to hold your hand?" he teased.
Heisenberg glared, but said nothing. He hissed when Luis took the needle away and watched as he put the vial's of blood into the bag. Luis then placed a band-aid over the wound, a completely unnecessary point but he seemed to be a habit of the mans. As soon as the band-aid had been applied, Luis picked up the bag and pulled himself up from the chair. He stepped towards the door.
"I'll do bloods, see if anything else is going on, but I really think it's just the cadou reacting to Elle." He smiled sympathetically to the other man. "Rest up, I'll bring you some food later, you'll probably want to stay in your room until this blows over." He paused, then sighed as though remembering something. "Damn, I'll have to call Leon- let him know I I'll be here until Wesker's back." He sighed and opened the door. "I hate being in charge, this is Elle's job." Another sigh. "Good luck amigo!" with that said, he left, leaving Heisenberg to his own devices.
"Well fuck." Heisenberg chuckled breathlessly to himself.

Claire smiled and hummed as she vacuumed the living room. She had just received a phone call from Elle, who had practically begged for her to house Alexis and Urias for a few days. She hadn't asked why, hadn't needed to ask why, this was one of those situations that happened so often, that she wouldn't ask- she just hoped that, whatever the situation was, that it didn't keep Albert away for too long. She was glad that her house was never too messy, it made it much easier to take care of spontaneous guests.
She clicked the vacuum off and moved to put it away. She was not sure how long she had before her guests arrived, if Elle was leaving the facility, then she had hours to get the house. "Jake!" she called out to the twelve year old, when she heard him yell out a 'what' she called out again. "Alexis is coming soon, Urias too!"
"Sweet!" the two kids had grown fond of the older man since he had come to spend most of his time at Elle and Al's. He seemed to love their company and they liked having him around. Claire smiled. It was nice, her own parents were gone and having an older presence around the children was nice to see- and she had a feeling that Uria's needed the children as well.
She looked around the living room, assessing what else needed cleaning. It seemed that the vacuuming had been the only thing that needed doing. It was surprising, but since Annabelle had gone to college, the house had seemed cleaner. She appreciated the cleanliness, but she also missed the extra presence, she missed her baby. She reached for her phone, wanting to send the girl a text, to see how she was doing, but she hesitated, the last thing that Belle needed was to have her mother sending her messages while having fun at college.
She jumped at the sound of the door clicking open. She frowned, there was no way that Elle was there with Alexis already. She walked across the living room, towards the hallway and blinked as she saw Wesker walking towards her. She frowned, he looked unwell. His skin was flushed and he seemed to be sweating- he looked, for lack of a better term, like shit. She stepped towards him and reached out to touch him, this caused something in him to snap and he reached out, taking her wrist in his gloved hand.
She winced lightly, not in pain, but at the speed and aggression in the action. What in the world was wrong with him? She tried to look into his eyes but he was wearing his glasses, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking. She tried to reach for his glasses with her other hand, but before she could move she found herself pushed up against the wall. She gasped and opened her mouth to chastise him, only for it to be covered by his.
What in the world? She tried to move only for him to press harder against her. Torn between pushing him away and wrapping her legs around his waist, she settled in allowing him to kiss her until he pulled back, which he eventually did, and moved to nip at her neck. She tried to move her hands, but he held on strong. She let out a combination of a sigh and moan and whispered into his ear.
"Shall we move this to the room?" she kissed the back of his head, the smell of his hair gel hitting her nose. "We have guests arriving soon." He let out a sound in response and released his grip on her wrists, and opted to move the his hands to her waist, sliding his fingers under her shirt. "Albert…" she breathed.
"Oh my fucking god!" Claire jumped at the sound of her son's voice. She looked over to see Jake standing in the living room with his hands over his eyes. "Get a bloody room!"
Claire let out a strangled sound. "He's right," she touched the back of Wesker's head. She was a still confused as to what was happening, but she had already began to come up with some ideas. "Take me to bed?" she whispered causing a shiver to run down his body. She kissed his ear as understanding took her.
"Jake." Wesker said, sounding strained. "Order pizza for yourselves tonight." He lifted Claire, who wrapped her legs around his waist.
"Cool, sweet, thanks," Jake called out, not removing the hands from his eyes. "Mum, where do you keep the bleach? I need to clean my eyes."
Claire let out a laugh as Wesker carried her past their son and towards the stairs. "You'll start bringing people home one day!" she called out to him. "Then you'll understand!" she held on tighter as Wesker began up the stairs. She heard Jake make gagging sounds, which caused her to laugh louder. "Is this going to happen to Jake one day?" she asked Wesker quietly.
He made a sound. "I certainly hope not." He sounded entirely frustrated.
She smiled and reached for his glasses as he kicked open the bedroom door. Her eyes locked with his red ones. "Mind calling me next time? Give me a heads up?" she teased as they moved through the threshold.
He kicked the door behind him and dropped her onto the bed. "My apologies."
She grinned and touched the glasses onto her lips. "I can think of ways that you can make it up to me."

Ethan frowned as he walked down the stark hallways of the facility. He was heading back to his bedroom, Luis had found him while he had been in the cafeteria and had told him to head back to his room and to take it easy for a few days. He had also been instructed to tell Luis as soon as he felt strange in any way. This had confused him, as far as he knew, he felt fine. Was there something happening that he was not aware of?
He had not seen Karl today, and now that he thought about it, he had not seen anyone really today. He had seen Elle very briefly but she had seemed to be busy at the time, but now that he was thinking about it, she had seemed worried. Perhaps there was something happening?
He turned to the next hallway and headed towards his bedroom door. As he reached for the handle he heard a sound from Karl's room. A moan. His cheeks turned red as thoughts of what Karl could be doing flashed in his mind. He move to open his door, to go inside and give Karl his privacy but then he paused. What if Karl was sick? It would make sense, especially when he considered what Luis had said. Perhaps there was a flu going through the building, a flu that Karl had caught.
He pulled his hand away from the door handle. Worry for Karl took over and he found himself walking to the door across from him. He heard another sound and did not think about the potential consequences as he opened the door. Karl lets out a sound and Ethan steps into the room. He is met with the sight of a flushed, sickly Karl shaking under his sheet. Ethan takes in the sight the other man, his eyes scanning over Karl's sweaty skin and shaky body.
"Are you okay?" he asked, shutting the door behind him.
Karl turned his head towards Ethan, as though he had heard the other, but from the man's closed eyes it was evident that he was, in fact, sleeping. Ethan's eyes softened and he inched closer to the sleeping man. He pulled the chair closer to the bed and inched closer to the sleeping man. Karl usually looked so peaceful while he slept, but today he seemed troubled. His lips were parted and his breathing was shallow. Ethan had never seen the man looking like this. He knew that he should have left, should have left him alone, but he instead found himself reaching out and touching the man's cheek.
"E-Ethan.." he heard the other man say.
"Karl?" he brushed Karl's hair away from his sticky face. "Are you okay?"
Karl moaned, the sound shooting down Ethan's spine. "Ethan.."
Ethan's eyes widened, Karl was clearly having a dream. Feeling his cheeks heat up, he knew that he had to leave- to give the man the privacy that he deserved. He could not, however, pull himself away, he continued to rub his thumb against the hot flesh. It was strange watching the man in this way. Seeing Karl in a way that was vulnerable, made him more human. He knew, however, that he needed to leave, that lingering would not be a good idea.
As he pulled away, he was struck by the strangest urge- though perhaps not strange, considering how he had been feeling for the man of late. He found himself leaning forward and pressed a light kiss against the man's forehead.
As he pulled away, he felt a hand grasp his. He pulled back shocked, his eyes locked with Karl's equally wide ones. Panic shot through his chest as he realised what he had just been caught doing. Karl was going to flip at him. He tried to pull back, but Karl held on strong.
"Karl I-" whatever he was going to say was cut off as Karl pushed himself up from the bed and pressed his lips against his.
Ethan let out a sound of shock which turned into a moan. He briefly entertained pulling away, but that thought flew from his head as a hand grasped the back of his head. He let out an embarrassing sound, but he couldn't care less. He heard a rustle as Karl kicked the blanket off and he felt another hand tug at his shirt. He moved forwards and allowed Karl to pull him onto the bed.
He attempted a graceful slide in, but instead was pulled atop the other man. As their crotched brushed against each other, he let out a whine. Karl let out a panted laugh against his lips and Ethan bristled, but he did not pull away.
It felt right. He thought as he continued to kiss the other man. It was completely insane, but it felt right. He could scarcely believe that it was happening, but he could not, would not, allow it to stop. He thrust his hips forward and relished in the sounds that the other let out. Hot fingers slid under his shirt. Ethan panted into the kiss and rubbed himself against the other.
This is perfect. He pulled back to suck in air before resuming the kiss. Karl is…
…perfect.
