*Onishin Tsukitenshi: The reason I changed some of their appearances was a combination of personal design preferences, and that in the first run of IDW, they would sometimes change the character's designs. Now, while I can understand why the R.I.D design is a bit distasteful for you, I find that when you look at the design with Soundwave's faceplate (a DeviantArt upgrade) on him, it strengthens the look. Sort of give him a more gladiatorial style with the spiked shoulders and knees. That and it adds a bit more defense/offense since that Soundwave design has claws hands and those electrical cables. While I don't expect you to agree with my choice or go along with it, I hope you can understand why I went with it. Also I described the R.I.D design as the image for Soundwave in the second chapter where the Seven Shields first met Teletraan Alpha. Go back and read the description and you'll see it's what I described in the previous chapter.
*DeathlyJazzHands55: I'm glad you liked the chapter. I brought in the Insecticons to bring in more of a challenge to the story. For the start of things, the Insecticons will be the main fighting force against the Cybertronians that I bring in from the IDW universe. And of course, later on we will see the Allicons and Sharkticons join in the story.
*chowchow10181: Gotta go through the storm before Olga can have a chance for redemption. That's how you make a story interesting. Gotta know how long to keep the drama going, when to elevate it, and when to end it. Also, I'm glad you're excited about Trypticon. Though he won't be used at full force until much bigger threats enter the story. Threats that will be hinted at in the coming chapters.
Volume 01: Epsiode 5:
And so it begins
Rad, Eostia_
"Is this it? Is this how we die?" Maia thought to herself as she decapitated an imp that had jumped at her with a dagger.
It had only been several hours ago that Maia, and all those around her, received the dying soldier's warning. And as of now, the whole of Rad was witnessing as the warning materialized in brutal force.
They were being attacked on all sides, ground and air. Maia had prepared the city guards, the local militia, and all present members of her Rose Company for the attack as best she could whilst Hicks rallied up what members of the Black Dogs were in Rad.
They were doing well against the regular monsters that were under Olga's sway, having reduced them by a quarter. Having some of the best mercenaries around will do that.
But victory was far from near.
The new monsters that accompanied the regular batch were something that the people of the Seven Shield Alliance have never dealt with in the history of the war. An entirely new species that none alive had ever seen before now.
They were as the now dead soldier described them. Large, insect-like creatures with a haunting screech, attacking the citizens of Rad from land and air, spewing some strange and powerful fire magic from their horns that even the local mages could barely combat against.
The citizens went into panic, some trying to hide from the oncoming attack as the horde and swarm never once let up in their assault.
Maia led her Rose Company and half of Rad's militia while Hicks led the other half, along with what Black Dog mercenaries were with him.
Currently, Hicks and those under his command were trying to hold off any of the attackers in the streets.
Ripping his sword from the throat of an orc, Hicks gritted his teeth in frustration.
"When that dead scout said that these jackasses were made of metal..." Hicks started as he cut off the right arm of an attacking orc. Afterwards he swiftly decapitated it. "I thought he just meant they had tough skin. I didn't think he was being serious!"
Hicks and the Black Dogs had their work cut out for them. They were skilled and renowned for taking on the usual monsters of Olga's army, but these nightmarish bugs, they were a different breed of monster altogether. No arrow could pierce them. No sword could slice through their hides. They were an opponent not to be so easily truffled with.
But that was not all that lay up the sleeves of the new beast. For, to many's surprise, they had the ability to Transform.
It was all revealed when some of the Insectoid monsters landed and attacked the roads and streets of Rad. Every part of their bodies shifted and contorted until they stood upright, becoming metallic humanoid insects with sharp claws, spiked pauldrons, and red visor-esc eyes accompanied by razor sharp teeth with two mandibles.
These new beasts that Olga had sent their way were tossing the Black Dogs like rag dolls. Only the mages seemed to deter the beasts, but that didn't mean they could dent into whatever the beasts' bodies were made of.
It was a day like this that Hicks wished he had that nerd by his side, Kin. Hell, Hicks would have actually gone with any person powerful in magic right about now, even if that meant Celestine herself. Or even that reclusive sorceress elf, Knoll. But this was the hand felt to him.
It was all as if the world just decided to give Hicks and the Black Dogs the finger, leaving them to fend off what Hicks was starting to believe were actual demons straight from Hell.
Right now, Hicks and the Black Dogs were dealing with two of the metallic beasts who were in their humanoid forms. Every time someone tried to attack them, the demons would just smack them away with their clawed hands.
There were still some civilians in the area, mostly women, as some of the other monsters tried to have their way with them. Though to Hicks's, and everyone else's surprise, these new beasts of Olga weren't seeming to get along with the other monsters. That, of they didn't like rape, because the moment an orc tried to tear off the clothes of a middle-aged woman, one of the metallic beasts grabbed that orc by the head, and ripped it clean off.
The other monsters growled and roared whenever it happened, but with just one of those nightmarish screeches from the two beasts, the other monsters made no further actions of displeasure as they cowered before them. But Hicks didn't care at the moment. All it meant was that he wouldn't have to deal with so many targets at once.
However, before more fighting could continue, another of the beasts landed and transformed right in front of Hicks. Though this beast stood out from the others of ilk.
This one was a bit more green than that of his kin, with scars and scratches all over his body. In a way, it kind of reminded Hicks of Vault.
The beast raised his right arm, telling the other two metallic beasts behind him to halt in their tracks. Afterwards this new beast looked straight at Hicks, its visor boring into the mercenary's eyes.
"Human." The beast spoke as it pointed to Hicks. "Are you in charge of this city's militia?"
Looking a little confused at the amount of intelligence behind the beast's voice, Hicks soon steeled himself and pointed his blade at the beast. "Who's asking?"
"I am Hardshell. General of the Insecticon hive, and by decree of her majesty, the Hive Queen, we are to conquer the city of Rad. Take us to the leader of this city, so that we may discuss your surrender. This is a battle you have already lost." Hardshell said as he looked Hicks dead in the eyes.
"Listen here dickhead, I've faced uglier guys than you. If you think me or any other of my pals are just gonna keel over, then you've got another thing comin'!" Hicks spat back at Hardshell as the Black Dogs with him cheered in agreement.
"So be it..." Hardshell quietly said as the other two Insecticons transformed into their alt modes, their horns lighting up.
Hardshell merely raised his right hand, pointing one finger in the direction of the Black Dogs and uttered one order.
"Fire."
Kuroinu———Kuroinu
As of now, Maia was leading her Rose Company in counteracting against a group of orcs in the courtyard by the palace of Rad.
Maia, using her two swords, swiftly twirled and decapitated two oncoming orcs that were charging at her with clubs.
"Incoming!!" One of her Roses called out to everyone.
Maia looked up to see as three of the large insect-like beasts came spiraling down towards herself and her group, their horns lighting up with a sinister orange glow.
Widening her eyes, Maia looked toward her mercenary company.
"Take cover!" Maia called out as the insecticons fired their horn blasts at the Mercenary Queen and her company.
The women in Maia's group were able to avoid the shots in time, however the same could not be said for the men that were fighting with the Rose Company, who were not as agile as the women and were caught in the blaster fire. The attack went right through their armor, killing them as spoke literally poured and spilled from their mouths and eyes as their insides became singed.
The three insecticons spiraled down towards the courtyard and transformed into their robot modes, flexing their claws in preparation for battle as one of them roared out a screeching battle cry.
"RRRIIIIAAAEEEHHH!!!"
Maia and her group circled around each other as they soon became surrounded by the three insecticons and the rest of the orcs.
Maia gritted her teeth as she held her fighting stance, staring into the burning red visor of one of the insecticons.
"What are these bastards? They look like demons and fight like berserkers. There's no way in Hell that even Olga could tame these guys. They're too brutal and violent, even for the likes of those under her employ." Maia thought to herself as she and her Rose Company got ready to continue their fight
However, just as a few of the orcs began to charge at Maia and her company, a voice broke through the air.
"Halt!" A voice boomed throughout the courtyard, prompting everyone to find the source of the voice
Hearing the familiar beating of wings, Maia looked up, her eyes widening as she saw Hicks in the grasp of one of the insect creatures they were fighting. He was badly wounded and could barely struggle in the grasp he found himself in.
Hicks was then tossed towards the group by the large insect, yelling a bit as he was thrown towards Maia and her group, hitting the ground next to them.
A few of her girls helped Hicks up as Maia looked towards the insecticon that threw Hicks, watching it transform into a humanoid creature like the rest, revealing himself to be Hardshell.
"Now who the Hell are you?" Maia asked the scared insecticon as she got into a fighting stance
"I am Hardshell. General of the Insecticon hive, leader of this assault." Hardshell told the Shield Princess as he looked her in the eye. "I seek an audience with you all. Your ally there was far less cooperative with me. Perhaps his damage will persuade you to better heed me than he had."
"So, apparently you guys have names. That's fun to know." Maia said as she tried to size up Hardshell. Just from the scars alone, she could tell this Hardshell had seen more battle compared to his kin. "Though I gotta say, it's not common for the attacking force to halt everything in the middle of a siege just to talk. So what'd ya want?"
"Are you Maia, Shield Princess knight of the fortress city Rad? The Mercenary Queen?" Hardshell asked.
"That's right..." Maia trailed off as she could see two other insecticons flying overhead towards them.
"Our Queen has told me of your skill and stubbornness." Hardshell proclaimed to her. "Against a regular ambush of orcs, you would most likely be victorious."
"As much as I like all this flower talk, how about you just get to the point." Maia said as she narrowed her eyes at Hardshell.
"Very well. By decree of her majesty, we are to take the fortress city of Rad, along with bringing you, Maia, back to Garan. But know that we are not without mercy. Surrender, and the needless deaths of those within this city shall cease." Hardshell informed Maia.
"I gotta say, Olga's got a lot of balls if she thinks she can send out a new batch of goons to take down a major city of the Seven Shield Alliance." Maia retorted.
"My brothers only work with Olga Discordia. It is with our Queen, Misery Stentrem, that we hold undying fealty to." Hardshell corrected Maia as the other insecticons growled in agreement.
"So it's the witch who's responsible for these guys... gotta say, she's outdone herself this time." Maia thought to herself as she moved her eyes between the Insecticons in the vicinity.
"What makes you think we'll just surrender to you?" One of the women from the Rose Company confronted Hardshell as she pointed her blade in his direction.
"This is a losing battle. I commemorate your valiant efforts, but the victor of this day has already been decided." Hardshell elaborated as he motioned to all of the destruction that surrounded them all.
"Oh, please. Don't think we don't know what will happen if we do surrender. I know what the monsters of Garan do to women and children." Maia spat back to the Insecticon General.
"What these orcs and imps want have no importance within the hive. You have our word that these cretans will not lay a single skin cell upon your people." Hardshell tried to assure Maia. However, in doing so, this had raised the ire of all the orcs that were present in the courtyard.
"What does bug man talk about?!" One of the orcs called out to Hardshell.
"Hold your tongue, dimwit!" One of the other Insecticons shouted back to the monster.
"We here to kill men and use women to make stronger brood. If bugs deny us women, then we kill bugs." A large grey orc, nearly the size of Hardshell said as he walked towards the Insecticon General, a large spiked club in hand.
"Is that right?" Hardshell asked lowly as he flexed his claws.
The nearby Insecticons and orcs started to growl at each other as the orcs brandished their weapons.
"You will obey, or you will learn the consequences." Hardshell growled at the grey orc.
"No! You learn!" The grey yelled out as he raised his spiked club.
The orc swung, hitting Hardshell in the head, forcing the Insecticon to falter only by an inch.
The grey orc pulled back a bit, stunned as to why his strength didn't allow him to knock the head off of Hardshell's shoulders with his club.
"Let me show you how it's done." Hardshell growled as he rose back up. To the sight of the orc, it almost seemed that the Insecticon General had suddenly become taller than himself.
Before the grey orc could even move, Hardshell swung his right arm at the orc's head, claws bared. The moment Hardshell struck, an audible slicing sound could be heard throughout the courtyard, soon accompanied by a thump.
Maia and her company, all the orcs, and all the Insecticons stared at Hardshell, the claws on his right hand soaked in blood as the grey orc's lifeless body was on the ground. Blood poured out from a neck that was missing a head, with said head having landed a few feet away from the corpse.
Seeing one of their kin killed before them, the other orcs roared at the Insecticons and charged them.
Hardshell roared, prompting the other nearby Insecticons to roar in unison as they charged the orcs. And all the while, they began to ignore Maia and her group.
Maia, Hicks, and the Rose Company watched as the Insecticons and orcs started fighting with one another. Though, despite the orcs' sizes, the Insecticons were winning easily.
Maia took this opportunity to look over the wounded Hicks, quickly walking over to him in order to pick him up from the ground.
"Got an evaluation for me?" Maia asked as she helped him walk over to the group.
"That one-hngh, Hardshell. He's a monster. Tore right through the boys without much effort… We can't take him. Maia, we need to evacuate." Hicks grunted in pain as Maia moved him over to one of her girls.
Hearing this come out of Hicks' mouth, Maia looked back at Hardshell and the few Insecticons with him. She watched as ripped through the large orcs, something that would usually take a large battalion of soldiers or Black Dogs to accomplish.
Maia cursed to herself, seeing that their odds were very slim against the Insecticons. Looking at her girls and Hicks, she knew what they needed to do, and that they needed to do it fast.
"…Right. But if we're going, we need to be quick. Those orcs aren't going to distract the big guys long enough." Maia whispered to her group. "We get to the inner city, regroup, save as many people as we can, and try to figure out a way to deal with the bugs."
Hicks and the Rose Company nodded as they all started to try and quietly escape from the courtyard. Unfortunately, since they needed to help an injured Hicks, it hampered their speed.
As this was happening, half of the orcs in the area had now been slaughtered at the hands of the Insecticons, and the death toll only continued to grow. Something that even the dim witted orcs started to notice.
Hardshell grabbed an orc by the throat and lifted him in the air, brandishing his claws as he prepared to strike, a low growl escaping his slightly agape maw.
However, the orc dropped his weapon and rose in hands in surrender, fear written on his face as he tried to speak through his choked windepipes.
"Wait! Gah-wait! Give! Give!" The orc cried in a hoarse voice, causing Hardshell to halt himself.
The other orcs in the area spouted similar pleadings as several of them were about to be skewered by the insecticons.
Hardshell brought the orc to his face, his red visor blaring into the orc's skull.
"You take orders from me, no questions, no complaints. Am I understood?" Hardshell asked in a low yet deadly voice.
The orc just nodded repeatedly in fear as a response. Seeing this, Hardshell promptly let him go, not even batting the orc an eye as it fell to the ground. In response to this, the other Insecticons followed their general and ceased their attacks on the orcs.
However, this now allowed Hardshell to bring his attention back to Maia and her group, only to see them trying to sneak out of the courtyard. It was something Maia noticed too, the moment she turned her eyes met with Hardshell.
"Shit." Maia muttered as her eyes widened.
"After them!" Hardshell ordered, pointing his clawed hand over to the retreating group.
Upon the command the Insecticons transformed into their insect modes and gave chase, with the rest of the orcs quickly getting up and grabbing their weapons to do the same.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, this is going to get bad." Maia swore as she brandished her two swords.
"Dammit all." Hicks said, holding a look of fear deep in his eyes.
"Hold fast!" Maia yelled to her girls as they prepared for the inevitable battle. Perhaps their final one.
However, just as one of the Insecticons went in to strike at Maia, a loud howl echoed out into the courtyard. The Insecticon had little time to react before he was intercepted by a large, white, metallic wolf with teal, black, and purple ascents to it.
The robotic wolf mauled and batted at the insecticon, grabbing him in its jaws, and shaking violently before tossing him back at the rest of the dumbfounded Insecticons.
"What?!" Hardshell yelled as he looked at the robotic white wolf.
The large robotic wolf growled at the Insecticons before charging again.
A few of the orcs tried to intercept the wolf, but were instead met by blade-sharp claws. The orcs were sliced through as if they were butter, barely impeding the white wolf.
From there the wolf continued its charge at the Insecticons. One of them flew in to meet the wolf head on, screeching a battle cry as the Insecticon transformed back into robot mode, lunging for the wolf.
The Insecticon was ready to tear the wolf apart with his claws, but the wolf ducked and slid from underneath the lunging attack. The Insecticon turned back to roar at the wolf, but the wolf was quick enough to pounce at the Insecticon, pinning him on the ground.
As this was going on, both the Insecticons and Maia's group watched the whole thing go down in surprise. A third party had found its way into the siege, and no one could have seen it coming.
"A cyber-wolf?" Hardshell thought to himself, stunned by its sudden appearance. "Thunderhowl? No. No. He would have been in stasis like the rest of us. This wolf is one I have not seen on Selenus. What is it?"
Though Hardshell was hardly the only one taken aback by this change of events. Maia and her fellows were easily bewildered the most. After such a gruesome battle against foes they could not hope to defeat, here was this great white wolf charging head on into the fray. The only thing they had seen that appeared to stand toe to toe with the Insecticons.
As Maia watched on, she couldn't help but stare at the white wolf in slight awe. Thoughts formed in her head of just what the new metallic hound of war was.
"It definitely isn't one of those Insecticon guys." Maia thought to herself, watching the ongoing fight with everyone else. "And it definitely doesn't look like it's with them either. But then that begs the question of if it's with us."
Back in the fight, the Insecticon warrior tried to keep the chomping jaws of the wolf from clamping down at him.At ttt moment, another Insecticon transformed into his insect mode and flew at the wolf, knocking the it off of his comrade with and audible clang of metal. However, his horn did not tear through the metal of the wolf, much to the Insecticon's surprise. Though it did not deter the Insectoid for long as he went in for a different approach.
The wolf quickly found himself within the grasp of the flying Insecticon, being carried high in the air, most likely to be dropped from higher heights in order to be incapacitated. However, the wolf, Sixshot, had other ideas.
Chomping at the Insecticon's legs, the Insecticon's grasp on Sixshot became loosened, allowing for Sixshot to push himself out of the metal insect's hold.
As he started to fall back to the courtyard, Sixshot quickly did something that not only confused Maia, but brought shock to the faces of Hardshell and his Insecticons.
Sixshot transformed into his starship mode, thrusters activating as he soon flew through the air, flying higher than the Insecticon had gone. Soon after, he began nosediving back down towards the Insecticon that was in the air.
"Impossible. A Cybertronain? Here?" Hardshell said to himself upon witnessing Sixshot change into a vehicle mode. With tightened claws, he looked to his brothers and pointed at Sixshot. "Take to the skies. Bring him down!"
Heading Hardshell's orders, three of the Insecticons transformed into their insect modes and gunned for the nosediving Sixshot.
"Now we're talking." Sixshot said to himself as he activated his weapons system.
He fired down on the incoming Insecticons, hitting the wings of the one that carried him into the air, and hitting the sides of the three that were coming straight for him.
Sixshot then transformed into his robot mode, free falling in the air as he pulled out his katana, awaiting for the Insecticon combatants to come to him.
The first Insecticon that made it to Sixshot was met with a blade being plunged into his back. The ex-six-phaser ensured that his blade was firmly stuck into the Insecticon as he now held onto him.
The Insecticon screeched in pain as Sixshot plunged his blade deeper into its hide, using his spare hand to grab onto the Insecticon's horn, twisting it to the right and directing it to one of the other three airborne Insecticons.
The Insecticon that Sixshot was heading for saw the white-clad Cybertronian coming towards him, his sword plunged into the back of one of his brethren as Sixshot directed the other Insecticon in his direction. The Insecticon tried to swerve away from his comrade, but Sixshot had made sure that the Insecticon he rode on was going fast enough, twisting his blade in its back to further its pain.
The other Insecticon couldn't move enough in time, allowing for Sixshot to drive the horn of the other Insecticon into its spark chamber, promptly killing it.
Sixshot withdrew his blade from the other Insecticon before pulling out one of his blasters. Aiming the end of the blaster at the head of the Insecticon he was riding, he fired several times, causing smoke to rise from the Insecticon's head; its brain module completely obliterated. It's eyes' red glow quickly faded as it died.
As the two Insecticon husks fell to the earth, Sixshot backflipped off the one he was on as he now looked up at the other two Insecticons, both of them nosediving towards him from above.
Seeing how his brethren were so easily defeated by Sixshot, Hardshell's jaw became ajar in shock. This was no ordinary warrior, and was more skilled than his Insecticon kin. Hardshell tightened his claws in anger at what he was seeing. But he did not head into battle against Sixshot as he remembered his purpose in Rad.
Hardshell looked towards Maia and her group, seeing that they too were watching the spectacle of the aerial battle unfold.
Hardshell now started to wager the likelihood that he could successfully capture Rad. Sixshot had shown he was a warrior of skill and strength, killing two of his kin in record time. Doubt grew in him for their chances of victory, but while conquering Rad may no longer be accomplishable, the same could not be said in retrieving Maia for Misery.
"Bring me the Mercenary Queen!" Hardshell barked his order, getting everyone's attention.
Hearing this, several of the Insecticons, and the remaining orcs in the courtyard, gunned for Maia, something Maia took quick notice of.
"Everyone, fall back! Retreat to the inner city!" Maia ordered her group as they continued on with their initial plan.
From above, Sixshot heard Hardshell's command as well, looking down to see the Insecticons and the orcs charging for Maia and her group. He saw that the Insecticons were faster than the group of humans, already nearing their fleeing backs.
"A hunting party, and I wasn't invited." Sixshot said with a small chuckle. He then darted his eyes back to the other two airborne Insecticons flying at him. "I guess we'll just have to change that!"
Sixshot fired at the Insecticons, hitting one in the wings and sending it smoking just below Sixshot as it began spiraling down towards the courtyard and into several of the Insecticons that were reaching for Maia and her group, knocking them back.
This gave Maia's group extra time as they tried to make their way to the inner city gates. But the Insecticons were nothing if not determined as they started to get back up, running or galloping of their hands and feet just to reach Maia.
But Sixshot was also a bot of determination. And he had more tricks up his sleeve.
In that moment, Sixshot seemed to phase out of the psychical plain for a bit before he glowed a white hue. From his person, Sixshot spawned five clones of himself that quickly transformed into cyber wolves.
The clones descended upon the other Insecticons, trampling them down as they began to battle with them, further preventing the insectoid warriors from completing their goals.
Maia looked up at Sixshot, awed at his new feat. She inwardly thanked him for further distracting the Insecticons she and her allies made their escape.
However as the Insecticons were battling with the white wolves, the orcs had gone ignored in the matter as they were still on their way to get to Maia's group. Seeing as how Hicks was still injured and now being carried by two of her girls, Maia knew that they couldn't just run without losing some warriors along the way. They would need to run and fight if they were going to make sure everyone got through the gates.
Gritting her teeth, Maia looked back to several of her Rose Company and gave out her orders.
"Brea! Marigold! Sarah! Maria!" Maia called out to Sarah and three of her other girls, each respectively having white hair, blonde hair, and black hair. "With me! We're going to buy the others some time!"
Hearing this, the four girls nodded. But as they brandished their swords, another of the Company, Roxanne, a girl with blue hair, called back to her leader.
"But what about you?!" Roxanne yelled to Maia with concern. "You're the one the beasts want!"
"Don't worry about me! Tell the guards to close the gates, and activate the wards for the dome barrier! We'll try and hold them off!" Maia yelled back to Roxanne as she tried to give a reassuring smirk. "Don't worry, we'll be right behind you!"
Looking back to the oncoming orcs, Maia and the members of her Company that were staying with her got ready for the oncoming attack.
"Now go!" Maia ordered Roxanne who begrudgingly nodded in compliance.
The rest of the group closed in on the gates, some already starting to get through them. Though there were some that were slower than others, most notably Hicks and the two that were carrying him.
Roxanne ran as fast as she could, yelling out to the guards that controlled the gates.
"Close the gates! Activate the barrier!" Roxanne yelled out to the guards, hoping that they would hear her.
The message was luckily received, because soon enough, the gates started to close. As this was going on, bright symbols started to activate on the walls of the inner city, glowing a brilliant vermillion. As they glowed, a magical red barrier began to form a dome over the inner city of Rad.
Maia and the four Rose Company women were watched as the gate slowly closed with the barrier forming above the inner city. The Mercenary Queen hoped that the warding spells would prevent any Insecticons from reaching the heart of Rad.
"Thank you Kaguya and Celestine. If only we could have had this done to the entire city." Maia thought grimly to herself as she looked back at the oncoming orcs, gripping her fingers around her two swords.
"Let's show these bastards why you don't mess with the Rose Company." Maia told her girls as the orcs got closer.
"Cause you get the thorns!" Maia and her fellows yelled out as they charged at the oncoming monsters.
Back with Sixshot, the fourth Insecticon had grabbed onto him in an attempt to hold the Decepticon down, but that did little to deter Sixshot one bit. He freed the hand that held his katana and used it to slice off a few of the legs of the Insecticon, freeing him up to holster his blaster as Sixshot then grabbed onto the Insecticon's horn.
He used the horn to push himself up onto the Insecticon, forcefully aiming the horn down with his full weight straight towards the courtyard. As Sixshot drove the Insecticon downwards, it started to spiral about in an attempt to fling Sixshot off its back. But the ex-phase-sixer held a firm grip, his finger denting into the Insecticon's horn.
As they neared the ground, Sixshot took the opportunity to swing his sword back, slicing off the Insecticon's right wing as it screeched in pain. Afterwards, Sixshot used his grip on the Insecticon's horn to propel himself up again, giving him the proper room to quickly twirl around with his sword in hand, aiming it at the baseline of the Insecticon's neck.
With a swift and deadly strike. Sixshot watched as the head of the Insecticon flung from its body, causing Energon to spill out and sparks flying from its internal wiring. The moment the headless body of the Insecticon crash landed into the ground, its body exploded on impact as a result of the Energon having been lit up like a match from the sparks of the wiring. Just a few centimeters away from the burning wreckage, it's head finally reached the ground too, bouncing from the impact before rolling to a stop.
The moment Sixshot landed down into the courtyard, he tucked himself up as he barreled to the ground, burying his sword in the dirt in order to halt himself. Sixshot was in a kneeling position from his landing before he began to rise back up, swiftly yanking his sword from the ground and flinging off any excess dirt from it as he looked at the ongoing battle.
The wolf clones were in a stalemate matchup against the Insecticons. Neither side gave any room for quarter in the fight as they all tried to outmaneuver one another to get the chance at a kill. The sight caused Sixshot to cast an impressed look at the base skill and durability of the Insecticon warriors.
And with that in mind, Sixshot was all too eager to fight some more. He began scanning the courtyard, trying to find which Insecticon seemed worthy enough to go up against.
Looking further beyond, closer to the gates of the inner city, Sixshot spotted several humans, females from the looks of it, fending off against those fat, large, green-skinned organics.
Based on their motion and fighting tactics, these human women seemed to be pretty good in a fight. Nothing that could do well against a Cybertronian, especially one of Sixshot's caliber, the Decepticon ninja gave credit where it was due.
However, out of the human females was one that seemed to pique Sixshot's interest the most. The woman had red hair and blue eyes, wearing a headband over her hair. Her clothing—the upper garments, or shirt, as Sixshot remembered human's called it, was more red, while her lower garments, pants, were a more dark blue color—definitely seemed more open for what humans usually wear, but who was he to judge? It's not like Transformers wear clothes to begin with.
But it was not the woman's clothing that garnered his attention. Rather Sixshot found a sort of attraction to her the fighting prowess she displayed. She was far more skilled than her peers whilst duel-wielding short swords. Her movements were swift, elegant, yet hard, and devastating when she went into the attack. Staring at the red-haired woman, Sixshot felt intrigue picking at the back of his mind. Intrigue of not only who she was, but how far her skills could truly go.
That being said, Sixshot remembered what Soundwave talked to him about before they entered the battlefield. While Sixshot knew how to follow orders, that did not mean he couldn't try and get acquainted with those fighting. Making friends and rivals didn't require negotiations.
As Sixshot continued watching the ongoing fight, he noticed one of the Insecticons—the one with the scars running along his entire shell—starting to stomp his way over to the red-headed woman and her group.
Smirking underneath his faceplate, Sixshot placed his other hand on the hilt of his katana, activating its dual function. The blade was soon split into two twin katanas, excellent against multiple enemies.
Back with Maia and her girls, they just finished off the last of the orcs in the courtyard. Yanking her sword from the throat of one of the now dead monsters, Maia wiped a bit of sweat from her brow from exhaustion.
Looking back towards the closing gates, she smiled at the sight of the rest of her group having made it safely through into the inner city. That being said, Maia and the four women with her were going to have to book it if they were going to make it to the closing gates in time.
"Alright, ladies, let's get moving!" Maia yelled to the four women of her Rose Company, all of them nodding as they began to sprint towards the gates.
However as the five women ran their damndest to the gates, Maia quickly found herself stopped in her tracks by an arm that tightly clenched onto her shoulder.
"GAaAhH!!" Maia screamed in pain as sharp, metal claws dig into her shoulder. She was then slammed into the ground with great force, the air practically jumping from her lungs as let out a stunted gasp.
""Maia!"" The Rose Company mercenaries shouted, turning to their leader the moment she had screamed. They froze as they saw none other than Hardshell holding Maia down. He gave a sharp growl at them, forcing his claws near Maia's head as a warning.
Maia groaned whilst holding her shoulder in pain. She looked up at Hardshell, gritting her teeth as the Insecticon General looked down at her.
"With the Cybertronian's appearance, I may not be able to take this city." Hardshell spoke as he grabbed Maia by her head, causing her to gasp in pain as his claws squeezed against her skull. "But I will see to it that I bring you before Olga and my Queen at all costs."
However, just as Hardshell turned around to try and flee with Maia, he was met face to face with the edge of a blade. He noticed just in time to avoid death, but that didn't mean the blade didn't hit a part of him.
Hardshell roared in pain as his left mandible was sliced from his face, causing him to stumble back a bit, dropping Maia from his grasp.
Once Maia hit the ground she began crawling over to her girls, who immediately went to help her up. Once she was stable and on her feet, the Mercenary Queen looked to see who attacked Hardshell. She widened her eyes a bit in surprise at the sight of Sixshot Standing against the Insecticon General.
"A small organic against a big metal bug?" Sixshot asked as he twirled his katanas a bit, walking around in front of Maia and the women with her. As he did so, he pointed his right katana at Hardshell in a challenging manner. "Doesn't seem all that fair. Why don't you actually fight someone who's more to your skill set?"
Hardshell put a claw to his face, looking down to the side to see his sliced mandible on the ground. Looking back up at the ex-phase-sixer, Hardshell growled at Sixshot as he let out an ear-piercing screech.
"RRRIIIIAAAEEEHHH!!"
Hardshell charged at Sixshot in blind rage, only for Sixshot to take on one of his other alternate forms, that of his laser pistol mode. He fired a concentrated blast at the Insecticon General. While it wasn't powerful enough to blast through Hardshell, it was strong enough to send the Insecticon General flying back with smoke emitting from his outer-shell.
Once again, Maia and her girls were shocked at what they saw. They've thus only seen the Insecticon switch from bugs to monster-like humanoids. But this white warrior that had only just recently joined the battle, he was able to transform into more than just two other forms as he just transformed into something that looked like an oddly shaped cannon—if the powerful fire blast was anything to go by.
Sixshot switched back to his robot mode, his swords in his hands as he looked to where Hardshell landed. Before he could go back to fighting Hardshell, Sixshot, along with Maia and her girls, turned back as they heard the sound of the gates closing.
"For fuck's sake." Maia cursed to herself as she continued to hold her bleeding shoulder.
"Well..." Sixshot started, getting the attention of the five women. "I take it that was your only escape?"
"Uh... kinda." Maia said in slight pain, casting Sixshot an odd look. "W-who are you?"
"My name is Sixshot." Sixshot introduced himself by pointing his blade at his face. He then pointed it at Maia and the women with her. "You are?"
"M-Maia." Maia answered in pain
"Well Maia..." Sixshot said as he looked back at Hardshell, who was now getting up. "If the minuscule amount of damage that you and your friends did to these guys is anything to go on, you should really stay behind me."
"Usually I'd feel insulted by a comment like that..." Maia said as she too watched Hardshell get up. "But I guess you're right in this case."
"Hmph. I can tell this is going to be the start of an interesting relationship." Sixshot said as he looked at the fuming Hardshell.
Hardshell scrunched his claws into fists before raising his voice in anger.
"INSECTICONS ATTACK!" Hardshell screeched to his comrades.
This in turn caused the rest of the Insecticons within Rad to fly into the area and land behind Hardshell in formation. The Insecticon General raised his left hand and pointed In Sixshot's direction, causing all the Insecticons to screech before they charged at Sixshot.
As Maia quickly motioned for her girls to get to cover, she gave a wary glance to the Insecticons whilst speaking to Sixshot.
"You're really gonna take on all of them?" Maia asked.
Sixshot held an eager look in his eyes as he got into a fighting stance. "It's what I live for."
Sixshot then sprinted at the oncoming Insecticons, more than prepared to clash his blades with Insecticon claws.

"Nothing like smoldering stone and burning wood to excite the day." Laserbeak telepathically remarked to Soundwave as they neared Rad.
"Sixshot, you'll head to the center of the city and hold it. Eliminate anything that poses an immediate threat to the vicinity." Soundwave gave his order to the ex-six phaser. "Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, and I will tend to the outer sections of the city."
"Understood." Was all Sixshot said in his wolf mode as he sprinted at a faster pace, soon climbing over the walls of Rad and hopping into the fray of battle.
Soundwave drove up to the walls of Rad, transforming back into his robot mode as he observed the destruction wrought upon the outer walls.
"Laserbeak, eject. Operation: Surveillance." Soundwave gave the order to his red and black aerial mini-con.
Soundwave's chest then opened up, allowing Laserbeak to shoot out and transform into his bird-like mode. Flying over the walls of Rad, Laserbeak observed the damages that befell the city. Damages that were still being made.
Having seen enough, Laserbeak flew back to Soundwave, landing on his right arm.
"The destruction is severe. Insecticons have done more than a number on this place. The only good news is that the Insecticons are fewer in number compared to those organic monsters. If you consider that good news to begin with." Laserbeak gave his report to Soundwave.
Nodding in acknowledgment, Soundwave looked at the walls of Rad again, watching the smoke rise into the air.
"Fly overhead. Terminate as many monsters as you can. Should the Insecticons take notice and try to overrun you, I shall send you my coordinates for you to return immediately." Soundwave relayed to Laserbeak, who nodded in return.
Flying off of Soundwave's arm, Laserbeak took back to the skies, activating his weapons systems as he searched for any would-be targets.
As Laserbeak went to fulfill his mission, Soundwave began to enter the city. Taking a few steps back, Soundwave started to run towards the walls of Rad as fast as he could. When he got close enough, he jumped at the walls, gaining a holding thanks to his claw-like fingers.
If he was still his original size, the trip over the walls would be vastly shorter. However since Soundwave was now nearly the size of a human in his robot mode, he had to make due with what he had.
Soundwave scaled the walls, climbing to the top as he got a better view of the desolation Laserbeak spoke of. Houses had been reduced to ash and rubble. Streets were filled with charred corpses and running blood. Fires blew about in the wind. It didn't take personal experience to know that this was a massacre.
Channeling in on his outlier capabilities, Soundwave could hear all the screams of fear and pain of those that still lived in Rad. Those that tried to flee and hide. Soundwave honed in on the closet of those screams. In doing so, he heard the voice of a woman yelling to children.
"[Get inside the church, children. Quickly, hide!]"
Soundwave turned his head northeast of him, triangulating the area from which the woman's voice originated.
Soundwave then hopped down from the walls, opening his chest for his other mini-cons to join the fray. Ejecting from Soundwave's chest, Buzzsaw and Ravage transformed into their respective alternate modes.
As Ravage observed the damaged city, he scowled. Memories of the Cybertronian war resurfaced in his mind.
"What's the plan?" Buzzsaw asked as he circled around Soundwave.
"You will provide backup for Laserbeak." Soundwave gave his order to Buzzsaw. "With your range of fire-power, I would advise targeting smaller targets."
Buzzsaw nodded to Soundwave before he flew off. Already, he began firing off blaster bolts
"So, that just leaves you and me, eh?" Ravage asked as he walked towards Soundwave. "Where do we start?"
"Follow me." Soundwave said as he started to run in the direction from which the woman's voice came from, Ravage quickly in tow.

"Hurry! This way!"
As the battle raged on, the citizens of Rad either tried to take shelter or try their best to take up arms against the monsters of Garan and the new Insecticon threat.
However, not everyone was lucky in avoiding the battle.
As of now, a young, blue-haired nun by the name of Madelyn was trying to get a group of children from the orphanage into a hidden bunker underneath the church.
"Get inside the church, children!" Madelyn told the children as she ushered them into the church, all the while keeping a lookout for any orcs or imps. But above all Madelyn prayed that she and the children wouldn't be found by an Insecticon.
It was just when she had gotten the children inside that Madelyn's eyes widened in fear, for she spotted seven imps and two orcs headed their way. And it looked like they had spotted her too.
Making haste, Madelyn quickly entered through the church doors, closing them as fast she could before locking the doors.
Looking over at the children who huddled with each other in worry and fear, Madelyn rushed over to them.
"Over here, children, quickly." Madelyn said as she opened up a locked iron-hatch door right below the altar. "There's not much time."
One by one, the children hurriedly made their way into the cellar below the altar, however as they were doing so, banging could be heard coming from the church doors.
"Hurry!" Madelyn quietly yelled to the children as her face flooded with dread.
Just as the last child entered into the hidden cellar, Madelyn and the children jumped when they heard the sound of wood being smashed into splinters.
Madelyn didn't even need to turn her head to see what had happened as she heard the gruff and weasley voices of the orcs and imps bleeding into the church.
"There's a nun in there!" An imp called out
"I want a piece of her!" Rang the voice of another imp.
"Break door down faster!" Cried the gruff voice of one of the orcs.
Deciding that there wouldn't be enough time for her to hide with the children without having the horrid beasts notice them, Madelyn decided that she would instead use herself as bait to draw the monsters' attention away.
Just as Madelyn started to close the hatch to the secret cellar, one of the children, a young boy with blonde hair, spoke to her.
"What about you, sister?" The boy asked in a scared tone.
Madelyn put on a sad smile, but did her best to reassure the child. "Everything will be alright, child. The Goddess will watch over you."
And with that, she closed the cellar door, locking the hatch before quickly hiding the keys underneath one of the pews.
Just as she did so, the orcs and imps had finally gotten through. Madelyn turned around, scared at the sight of them, knowing what would come. But she steeled her face all the same as she stared into the evil that met her.
One of the two orcs, who held a spiked club in his hand, stepped forward, ogling at the nun before him as he licked his lips in lust.
"Lookie, lookie, boys. We have a new toy for us to bring back to Garan." The orc spoke, clearly more intelligent than most orcs, but feral nonetheless.
"What we waiting for?! Let's pin her now!" The second, dumber and more eager orc roared out in uncontrolled lust. He wielded a crudely-shaped axe
""Yeah!"" Two of the imps agreed with the other orc, the other five imps howling and nodding with their brethren.
Just as the monster made their way over Madelyn, they immediately stopped when she pulled out a dagger and held it to her own throat.
"I'd rather die than become some plaything for any of you." Madelyn spoke in defiance. Though despite the brave look she tried to put on, her eyes showed that she truly didn't want to die either.
This caused the imps and the second orc to jeer and howl at Madelyn in response. However the orc with the spiked club raised his fist, signaling them to quiet down.
"Where are they?" The orc asked as he lowered his fist, watching as Madelyn still held the dagger to her throat.
"I don't know what you're talking about, unholy beast." Madelyn retorted in slight fear as she stood her ground, hoping that the orc wouldn't catch onto the fact that the children were hidden in the church.
"I know you're hiding them somewhere. The children." The orc spoke with a wicked smirk. This had caused Madelyn to accidentally flinch at his words, doing nothing but confirming them. "I picked up their scent on the way in here."
"T-there aren't any children here." Madelyn tried to deny the orc's claims.
At this, the orc just scoffed. "Go ahead and kill yourself. Me and my boys won't leave this church until we find the children. I know well that girls will make more brood faster than older women, and the boys will go right well in a stew."
"No!" Madelyn said in horror at the orc's words, now aiming the dagger in the monster's direction. "You can't!"
"Is that so?" The orc asked, looking over to his fellows who just cackled and chortled in delight. The orc then decided to face back to Madelyn with an evil smile. "Then may-haps we can trade?"
"A t-trade?" Madelyn stuttered.
"We have our way with you, and we won't look for the children." The orc told Madelyn. "All you have to do is throw away the dagger."
Madelyn didn't know what to do at this point. On the one hand, she could just end herself and hope that the monsters won't discover the children. On the other hand, she could prevent them from looking for the children if she gave herself up to these beasts. But there was also no guarantee they wouldn't try and look for them anyways. It was an ultimatum that would end bad for her either way, but Madelyn was far more concerned for the children's safety.
After waiting around a minute, the orc with a club shrugged at the nun. "Suit yourself."
The orc then looked towards the imps. "Go find the—."
"Wait!" Madelyn interrupted the orc. Her face was hesitant as let out a saddened sigh, tossing the dagger away. "Do with me whatever you please. Just leave the children alone."
"See? Was that so hard?" The orc asked as he grinned wickedly at Madelyn. "Now... why don't you lift your tunic up, eh?"
Madelyn flinched when the orc made his request, but did so nonetheless—no matter how reluctant she was. As she slowly lifted her tunic, the lustful gazes of the monsters fell down to what they saw, making them all the more excited for the prize that they would take.
However, just as Madelyn was about to reveal her undergarments for the monsters to see, which would inevitably be torn off by them, a new voice echoed through the air.
"You can put an end to that now." A deep, dark, and almost distorted sounding voice rang out. It sounded as if it belonged to Death itself.
Looking back at the broken down entrance to the church, Madelyn and the monsters spotted two figures standing there, both metallic in appearance. One appeared as a heavily armored, blue knight with a pronged crown. The other was in the shape of a large, black feline with a fork-like tail. It was the duo of Soundwave and Ravage.
"Who are you?!" The orc with the axe yelled at Soundwave.
"It's more of those metal walkers." One of the imps spoke.
"But they don't look like the ones with us." Another imp chattered.
Soundwave and Ravage just slowly walked over to the monster group, heeding their words no mind.
"Hey! We found this bitch first. If you got a pro—ArRRgH!!" One of the imps started to speak to Soundwave. However, he was swiftly interrupted when one of Soundwave's cables shot out from the side of his chest, its closed claws spiraling like a drill as it shot through the mouth of the imp, piercing through the back of the imp's head. He was dead in an instant.
Everyone else stared in shock at what just happened as Soundwave withdrew his cable. As the imp's body limply fell, Soundwave flung the blood off his cable before it receded back into his body.
"Did he stutter?" Ravage asked as he nodded his head over at Soundwave.
"RAARRGGHH!" The axe wielding orc let out a feral roar as he charged at Soundwave.
He raised his axe and swung down on the blue Decepticon, only to blink in confusion as his axe was blocked by Soundwave's forearm.
"What?!" The axe wielding orc asked in shock and anger. He pulled his axe back as he attempted more swings at Soundwave.
With each swing of his axe, whether it be left or right, Soundwave kept blocking each blow. But the blue Decepticon was quickly getting tired of the tediousness of the attacks.
After ducking under the axe as the orc attempted to hack at his head, Soundwave performed a roundhouse kick upon the orc, sending him flying and crashing into the altar.
The other orc and imps looked gobsmacked at the sight, but that confusion slowly morphed into anger as the orc with the spiked club growled at Soundwave.
"Alright, you asked for it. Get 'em!" The orc shouted as the remaining six imps charged at Soundwave, all of them pulling their daggers out.
"This should be easy enough for you." Soundwave spoke to Ravage as he stared at the imps.
Letting out a growl, Ravage charged back at the group of imps with swiftness and finesse. Ravage sank his fangs into the legs of one of the imps, thrashing him about before flinging him to the left and sending his head into the walls of the church, smashing it on impact. A second imp tried to stab at Ravage, only to find that his dagger just bounced off the back of the mini-con. Seeing this, Ravage moved his head back, jaws open as he bit into the torso of imp, swinging him left and right before slamming him to the ground, promptly swiping his sharp claws at the imp's throat to make sure the red demon was dead.
A third imp charged at Ravage with a war cry, only for Ravage to swiftly swing his tail at the imp, impaling him with the fork blade at the end of it, killing the imp. As Ravage carelessly flung the corpse from his tail, he looked back as the other five imps surrounded him. A daring and threatening glint filled his glowing red eyes
As this was going on, Soundwave heard a charging motion coming directly at him. He turned his head to see the orc with the spiked club getting ready to swing a high strike at Soundwave's head.
The blue Decepticon went to intercept the spiked club with his right forearm, but as he did so, his arm had automatically transformed without Soundwave realizing it at the moment.
A buzzing sound was heard, and a swift squelching noise came right after it.
"AArRgGHH!!" The orc cried out in pain as his left arm was now nothing more than a stump spurting out blood.
Soundwave looked to see that the orc's now severed hand was now laying on the floor, alongside the spiked club the orc previously wielded. Soundwave then looked to his own hand, tilting his head in intrigue as it had transformed into a plasma-heated chainsaw.
Soundwave brought the chainsaw up to his face, inspecting its shape and design. The blood that had stained the chainsaw began to evaporate, an effect that was undoubtedly caused by the heated plasma. Swiftly moving it to the side, Soundwave revved up the chainsaw, its constant loud buzzing echoing throughout the church.
Soundwave halted the chainsaw's movements as he looked at the cowering orc.
"W-what are you?" The orc whimpered as he backed away from the approaching Decepticon, trying to use his other hand to cover the bloody stump that was his left arm.
Soundwave continued to walk over to the cowering orc as Ravage had just finished off the rest of the imps, spitting out a severed arm as he walked at the blue Decepticon's side.
Looking over the cowering orc, Soundwave spoke to him the last words he would ever hear. Words that would echo with the orc to whatever afterlife awaited him.
"Soundwave: Superior. Orcs: Inferior." Soundwave stated.
Right after that, Soundwave plunged his chainsaw through the orc, piercing through his chest. The orc screamed in pain and agony, only for his screams to rise louder as Soundwave revved his chainsaw through the rest of the orc.
Blood and smoke spurted from the screaming orc as Soundwave raised his chainsaw all the way through the orcs skull, silencing the brute once and for all. With the deed finished, Soundwave pulled back his weapon, transforming it back into his hand.
Soundwave and Ravage watched as the two halves of the cleaved orc fell to his knees, both sides soon falling in the opposite directions of each other, no blood or organs having spilled out as the plasma chainsaw had cauterized the body as it cleaved through the orc.
Madelyn, who had taken cover earlier when the other orc was thrown back against the altar, watched with slight awe and horror as Soundwave and Ravage tore through the monsters like they were parchment. She was currently hiding behind the pews, breathing heavily as she watched the one-sided massacre.
"You can come out now." Soundwave spoke to Madelyn, surprising her as he turned his head to where she hid. "We will not bring you any harm."
Madelyn hesitated for a few seconds before coming out of her hiding spot, slowly walking towards Soundwave and Ravage only stopping a few feet away from the Cybertronians.
"W-who... who are you two?" Madelyn asked with fear in her voice. While she was grateful for what the two Decepticons had done, their disposition was imposing and disturbing.
"Well, I'm Ravage." Ravage spoke to her, pointing a paw at himself before pointing his tail at Soundwave. "That's Soundwave. I would suppose in this predicament that would call us the good guys."
"We are here to assist your city." Soundwave elaborated to Madelyn.
Madelyn numbly nodded in response, still uncertain as to what to make of the two.
Just then, Soundwave turned his head to look at the secret hatch below the altar, hearing the whispered voices of the children within the cellar.
"Go to them." Soundwave said to Madelyn.
"W-what?" Madelyn asked, fear still having its sway over her.
"The children. They are afraid." Soundwave told Madelyn as he pointed his finger at the secret hatch. "Go to them."
Madelyn, after turning her head towards the hatch, the blue-haired nun soon realized that she still had the orphans down there. The stupor brought upon the Decepticon's appearances having distracted her from the thought of the children. "R-right! Of course!"
However, just as Madelyn went over to the cellar door, she and the two Decepticons heard groaning coming from the damaged altar. They saw as the axe wielding orc began to rise to his feet.
"Looks like we missed one." Ravage commented to Soundwave.
Soundwave just revved his shoulder cannon as he stared at the orc.
The moment the orc looked back at Soundwave, he widened his eyes as the turret upon Soundwave's shoulder spun swiftly. It soon released powerful red bolts of energy that blasted right through the orc, blowing holes throughout the orc's chest.
Eventually, Soundwave ceased firing from his shoulder cannon. From there, he watched as the blaster hole-filled orc let out one last groan before falling to the floor, dead.
"You miscalculated." Soundwave bantered with Ravage. After that, Soundwave began to make his way out of the church, with Ravage following at his side.
Madelyn, having instinctively ducked at the blaster fire, slowly stood up in shock as she stared upon the orc's smoking corpse. She then watched as Soundwave and Ravage took their leave. But before they could, they stopped once Madelyn had called out to them
"Thank you! Sir Soundwave. Sir Ravage." Madelyn bowed to the Decepticons in gratitude before she went over to the hatch, unlocking it so that she could check up on the children.
Soundwave simply nodded to the nun in silence before he and Ravage went back on their way.
As the two Decepticons exited the church, Madelyn couldn't help but look at their retreating figures with awe and slight admiration. Deep down, she wondered if this was the answer to her prayers. And perhaps, the prayers to all of Eostia.
As Soundwave and Ravage got back to the battle-scorched streets, the mini-cons began speaking his thoughts to his old friend.
"You know... after everything we've done. All of our terrible mistakes... I have to admit, it's nice to get a simple thank you." Ravage confided in Soundwave. "Hard to think we actually deserve it, though."
"Your sentiment is... agreeable. But there are other matters to focus on." Soundwave replied to Ravage as he activated his plasma chainsaw, turning his head to look at a group of orcs that were trying to force themselves upon two young women.
"The more things change." Ravage said as he got into a pouncing position.
And with that, Soundwave and Ravage charged at the orcs, claws sharp, and chainsaw at the ready as they threw themselves into battle.
End chapter.
Author's notes:
So here's the next chapter. Our first combat oriented to be precise. Like I said, I would get this chapter out earlier than usual, but it wasn't in the following week or two because I was focused on a painting. I personally think it came really well, and I plan on posting it on my RWBY watches alternate dimensions story on Wattpad, in case you guys would want to see how it came out too.
But anyways, I hope you guys found the action sequences acceptable. I can definitely say writing fighting choreography is a strong suit of mine. I can imagine the movements and sequences, but I can't describe them the best. But I think what I have here should be good enough.
Also, for those wondering why Soundwave can transform his arm into a chainsaw, it is a reference to Transformers: Online. In that game, Soundwave can transform his arm into a chainsaw. It's pretty cool to look at.
Another reference is Maia's line about what happens when you fight the Rose Company. It's similar to Cliffjumper's line to the Vehicons in the first episode of Transformers: Prime.
Anyways, with all of that said, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I will see you guys next time. We're getting closer to catching you up with the Wattpad readers.
Remember to comment/give a review of what you thought of the chapter. It's not required of you, but it gives me a better idea into what you guys are thinking, and how you may react to future decisions for this story.
Till all are One, my fellow readers and writers.
